The 10k Subscriber Special video is NOW PUBLIC!
youtube
In it I give a list of what my favourite anime movies and tv series are! And instead of 10 of them I accidentally gave 11 which is fine but I also happened to make this public after passing 11k subs! So everything worked out in the end.

My Top 10 Anime-of-All-Time
I update this list every 6 months or so: 1 Mob Psycho 100 2 Ping Pong the Animation 3 Sonny Boy 4 One Piece 5 Samurai Champloo 6 The Tatami Galaxy 7 Kids on the Slope 9 Golden Kamuy 8 Dorohedoro 10 Space Dandy
The ranking scale in which I rate media is established by these things: 1) Plot & Characters, 2) Music, 3) Animation & Style and lastly 4) what I like to call the zing factor which is just my personal connection with a series. Personal connection is a really vague term, but everything in my top 10 or even in my top 20/30 are shows that mean something to me. There is no way to objectively view or critique anything in media so please understand that- and my number ranking scale is by 11.
I used to keep my rank ONLY for completed series but One Piece and Golden Kamuy (I'm at the start of season 3 currently) have snuck their way into my heart and deserves a place in my top 10 updated before the EOY. My Top 3 have been there for about a year consistently, with the Top 2 for the past 4 years. I have to say Cowboy Bebop was narrowly cut from this list, as it's been in my Top 10 for years now but... I felt there was a need of change (and I have 3 Shinchiro Watanabe picks anyways on it.)
Feel free to comment or talk, I'm just a nerd and alas don't have enough anime friends.

Hi......If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
Tumblr media
Hey, thanks for the ask! I don't mind at all, I love talking about my favorite things!
I actually have a post up about my top 10 favorite anime, but I don't talk much about those other types of media on this blog, so I'll just give one top favorite from each and why I like it so much.
Favorite manga: 20th Century Boys
I love Naoki Urasawa and this series is just so unique, creative, and compelling. I read each volume back to back without reading anything in between because I was so invested. it's one of the only longer form manga series I own in its entirety.
Favorite book: Murder on the Orient Express
I really love mystery novels in general but especially Agatha Christie's. For an author whose works came out literally a century ago, in my opinion she has a surprisingly modern perspective on crime, violence, and murder, and it's why so many people have tried to emulate her style in the past 100 years.
Favorite movie: When Harry Met Sally
Best rom com ever (in my opinion), flawless friends to lovers execution, I can watch it 100 times and not get sick of it. Just an excellent movie and makes me happy every time.
Favorite TV series: Twenty Five Twenty One
This show is absolutely gut wrenching, but it got me through a really difficult time in my life and truly changed my perspective on love and romance. It will always be extremely important to me.
Thanks for asking that, I hope you all got to know a little more about me through this because I normally only ever talk about anime!
Thanks for reading,
-threecheersforinking

Top 10 Anime of the Week 7
Bocchi the Rock remains with the crown! Despite a recap episode forcing Gundam Mercury out of the charts last week, it returns with stunning strength to second place, where it last was before the recap. Bleach holds onto 3rd place, and Mob Psycho loses two spots to be 4th.
Blue Lock reemerges from the depths thanks to Japan’s incredible win to Germany at the World Cup. Frontrunners Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family struggle and loses their ranks.

#1. Sword Art Online⚔
❗WARNING - DARK THEMES❗
I have words upon words upon words upon words that I could say about this show, but I will try my best to keep it fairly concise.✍🏻
The biggest reason that I've been attached to this show is because of the main character, Kirito. In the beginning of this show, he's young and lost. He reminded me quite a bit of myself & who I was growing up. I will be sharing ❗spoilers❗ from here on out. So, if you'd like to watch the show (& haven't yet) - all I'm going to say is that it's worth it.
Starting with his survivor's guilt that he has over his fallen guild, I too have held myself responsible for things that I thought, "if I had just shared this info," or "told them that one thing," I could have changed fate. I've held responsibility in my hands over things not quite as heavy as watching a group of friends die, but on things that weighed on my heart too. Just like Kirito, I find myself taking the blame and burden for things around me - even when it's outside of my control. He had no idea that his guildmate would fall for the trap and he desperately tried to stop them before it happened; he also fought tooth and nail just to make it out of there alive. He was 14 at the time; he did what he could, but he blamed himself anyways...and honestly, I would have done the same.
The next thing that I immediately gravitated towards with him was the fact that he cut himself off from everyone because he was afraid to hurt anyone else. To say that I've done that would be sugar coating it🙃. When I was younger (& even still some today), I shoved people away - people that I loved at the time, because I felt like I was a monster, a burden. He felt that with being a "Beater" (Beta Tester/Cheater), he put others' lives in danger and instead of risking it ever again - he was the lone, black swordsman. I felt that loneliness with him. I understand what it feels like to imagine that the world would be better off if you were just a person passing by - not causing any troubles. It's lonely, but you think you're doing everyone else a favor by not getting in the way. You're sad when you go to sleep at night, but you desperately try to tell yourself that you're "doing the right thing" in order not to fall asleep in tears.
As he grows and gains friends (that sometimes he had 0 intent to have), I also feel that emotion with him. Over the years, I've allowed myself to open up a bit more and allow others into my life; just like he did. I also watch him time and time again put his life on the line for those friends - people he deems worthy to keep on living. I resonate with that idea and that passions because I would also put my neck out for those who I loved and saw as "family."
Over and over, he's thrown new situations and dilemmas that he has to do his best to adapt to. I, as well, have had to deal with the curveballs of that life has thrown my way and take it in stride. Kirito and I both do our best to act like we're 100% okay on the outside and push aside our emotions, but deep down - we're both broken and very emotional human beings. He bottles it all up, just like I do. We're the same in many, many ways.
I'm really putting my heart on the line with this post, but if you ever want to "get to know me" better, watch Sword Art Online and realize that Kirito is a lot of my bad, but also a lot of my good. We're both human and really think along the same lines of what we'd do for ourselves and those around us. There's a big reason why he's stayed my number 1 for 8 years (about the amount of time I've been watching Anime as well😅).
This guy really deserves to smile after the years of agony that he's been through - & so do I. 🖤
I love this show so much that I've seen every season at least twice through (Season 1 more like 6-8 times) & I've seen/own the movie (Ordinal Scale). It is by far my favorite and easily my comfort show. So, if you watch it, I hope you enjoy it too!

SO this is a day late; whoops, I meant to post this on New Years' Eve
I did this last year and wanted to do it again! So here’s a list that no one asked for of the top 10 anime series I watched this year, including two honorable mentions. They are ranked from (in my opinion) best to worst!
Animes I Watched This Year:
Arcane: League of Legends
Tumblr media
IDK if this counts as an anime, but I love it so much that I’m including it anyway.
Literally my favorite animated show of all time.
It beats out Moriarty the Patriot, Demon Slayer, all of the animes.
People who have been following me since my Arcane obsession began know of my love for Viktor.
He’s my favorite and deserves the world.
But the show is stunning; every shot is amazing, the music is astounding, and everything about it is breathtaking!
Jujutsu Kaisen 0
Tumblr media
Ok, I saw this in theaters, and I wanted to cry because it’s so beautiful.
I already owned the manga and had read it, and the fact that I love the movie more than the manga is something to consider.
There was never a boring moment in the movie, all the characters were memorable (with the exception of very few), and I absolutely adore Yuta.
Like, I already loved Geto because of that flashback arc we had in the manga, but Yuta beat him, he beat Gojo, and he beat everyone in the entire anime as my favorite except for maybe Inumaki.
This was truly Yuta’s movie, and I can’t wait for season 2!
Demon Slayer Season 2
Tumblr media
THIS SHOW BLEW MY EXPECTATIONS OUT OF THE WATER
The CGI used was absolutely amazing. THIS IS HOW CGI SHOULD BE USED PEOPLE TAKE NOTES
Uzui is actually my favorite Hashira, save for Iguro (my least favorite is Rengoku, don’t come for me) so seeing a season dedicated to him was great.
I own all the manga, and this was one of my favorite arcs, so seeing it animated was like a birthday present.
Bungou Stray Dogs: WAN!
Tumblr media
THIS SHOW IS SO CUTE, BUT ALSO MADE ME CRY WTF
Like episode 10? Had me pretty much bawling my eyes out
I also watched it in dub which was also a treat. I really like the BSD dub, and this was no exception.
Someone, please talk about it with me.
Like I can’t.
I need someone to cry with.
Spy x Family
Tumblr media
Normally slice-of-life shows aren’t my thing.
But this one is the exception!
This show is so fun, so colorful, and so just utterly amazing that I can’t help but want to rewatch it a bunch!
I don’t have any complaints about it. It’s just at number 5 cause I love the other shows more.
Chainsaw Man
Tumblr media
So I’m collecting the manga right now.
I already read it online and remember pretty much none of it.
This is what I get for reading it during finals week lmao
But the show is so cool!
It helps refresh my memory of what happens and every moment (save for the first kiss) is animated so beautifully!
They use CGI really well, with very few moments looking awkward or just out of pace.
This is only down at the halfway mark because it hasn’t gotten to my favorite part of the manga yet, so I can’t accurately judge how much I’ll love my favorite parts.
The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2
Tumblr media
THIS IS SUCH A PRETTY SHOW
The only reason it’s down this far is because I didn’t actually finish season 2.
I didn’t even see the final fight between everyone and the Beast of Gevaudan, or however you spell it
So I really can’t judge this show until I finish the entire thing, haha
Blue Exorcist
Tumblr media
I’M ONLY ON EPISODE THREE AND HAVEN’T SEEN IT SINCE 2014 DON’T COME FOR ME
I’m watching it in English Dub, and I think this is the only role that I actually like Bryce Papenbrook in. Anything else, and he just comes across as slightly annoying, but I really like him as Rin!
But this show is such a nostalgia trip. It’s great to rewatch, and the animation holds up really well!
Also, the opening is one of my favorites. I absolutely adore it.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
Tumblr media
This one is so bizarre, but I still really enjoy it.
Like the premise is so cool, and the animation is great!
It just fell kind of flat.
They just needed more episodes to really explore everything they wanted to, but overall, 7/10 would recommend it to someone looking for a short but fun watch!
High Rise Invasion
Tumblr media
I’m not even done with episode 1, but I already really enjoy the guy with the sniper rifle. I think he’s called Sniper Mask?
Anyway, the whole bit at the beginning of that one cop or whatever trying to make the main girl take off her clothes wasn’t the best.
It is part of what brought it down to number ten.
The other part is just that I haven’t finished it.
I’m noticing a trend with my watching habits, lol
Honorable Mentions
Sk8 the Infinity
Literally, the only thing beating this out of my top ten list is Adam.
I actually had this idea of writing a story of a detective from America coming to Japan and arresting him because that was hilarious to me, and he didn’t deserve the ending he got.
He deserved much worse, and no one can change my mind.
Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited
Oh. My. Gosh. This show was SO BORING
I CANNOT
I WAS DYING
The first couple of episodes were really fun and jazzy and whatever, but by the end, I was doing literally everything I could just not to watch it.

#6. Link Click📸
Of course...Once Again...Music be 🔥
This is technically a Donghua...but it was too good not to add to my list😊
Honestly guys, I could say so much about this show... This one has found a soft spot in my heart as I watched it.💙
To start off, the plot is incredibly interesting. The way this show begins feels like a series of vignettes. However, as the season continues the plot slowly reveals itself to the viewer. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are 2 guys who run a "photo shop" where they can travel back in time via pictures. - Lu has the ability to see 12hrs into the future from when the photo is taken - Cheng has the ability to jump into the photo - When Cheng jumps back in time via the photo, a link is formed between the two via a high-five. While Cheng is in the photo, Lu is able to telepathically talk to him and share info from that moment until 12hrs later. All of this had already intrigued me...and within the first 4 Episodes, I cried 3 times😅
The amount of love that I have for the 2 main characters isn't small.💓 - While watching, I saw a lot of myself in Cheng - He's much more emotional and thinks with his heart when it comes to matters of life. He also holds burdens and sometimes blames himself for the misfortunes he's been through in life. I relate to a few of his experiences and emotions throughout the show, and at times - it haunts me. Cheng feels like a kindred soul and so I fell in love with his character because I saw a part of myself inside of him. - Lu I had a lot of admiration/adoration of - Lu has a much more logical way of thinking and doesn't let his emotions run the show. He knows what is important and what needs to be done. It's something I always low-key kind of wish that I was like, but at the same time, I know that wouldn't be me. In a way, he reminds me a bit of my best friend. She's quite a bit more logical than me and is significantly better at keeping her emotions in check. Plus, the way that Cheng sees Lu is like a pillar for him - someone he can count and lean on, a trustworthy friend. That's something else I love about Lu - because he's so much for Cheng (just like my best friend is for me).
Their relationship really pulls at my heart. - I won't say much in the way of this aspect because I want you to be able to experience it for yourself. What I will say is that it's incredibly wholesome and heartwarming to me. In a sense, it felt like coming home. - Again, this might be because at times I saw bits and pieces of my own friendship with my best friend inside the two of them.😊
I really do hope that you'll check this one out... It feels so underrated to me & needs more love💖 It's another very short show - 11 Episodes BUT...Season 2 just started airing!🎉
