Did you know? Mario Party is a game that has Mario in it and he also parties and the M on his hat stands for "Mini", so he needs to set it to W for "Wumbo": https://youtu.be/1_jEujqlRxw

April 12th, 2024 - The Legend Of Nayuta
Being separate from the main Trails timeline, I didn’t really know what to expect. All I really knew it was Trails as an action RPG so I figured it would be kinda like Tokyo Xanadu but more like Sky or Crossbell instead Cold Steel. It was pretty much a linear 3D platformer with RPG elements, but I’m not complaining. Level design wasn’t anything amazing but they were still fun to explore and I liked going for the collectables, although some required upgrades you’d get later in the game. The characters were alright and overall, the game was shorter than a normal Trails game.
There were a few things I found surprising in the story and I did feel like the end dragged on at the end. Just like the main series has annoying final dungeons, the final stages (particularly one of them) were kind of a pain. There were a few bosses I got stuck on and certain parts of normal levels where I didn’t know what to do and had to go to the internet. In the end, I think this is a fun game and I can see myself coming back to it every now and then, but I still like the main series a lot more.

April 9th, 2024 - Persona 3 Reload
Like a lot of other Persona fans, I wanted a truly definitive version of Persona 3 and the 2024 remake is only partially that. Not all the content from the multiple versions is here. It's missing some content from Portable and other content from FES to be added later. The base game is pretty much most of what was in FES with some elements from Portable (mainly just missing its female protagonist).
There are plenty of quality of life improvements and some stuff taken from Persona 5 which make this a much more enjoyable experience. Playing Persona 3 with these features has me hoping when we Persona 4 will eventually get the same treatment. Overall, the story is pretty much the same but with some new scenes and extra content for the characters. Social links are improved, mostly because you’re not forced into romance with the girls.
You can get through at least a few of them without them developing feelings for the protagonist but some of the others, they’re gonna fall for him no matter what. However, the player doesn’t have to return their feelings. The game played fine and the graphics, while the textures could have been better at some parts, for the most part looked fine. The 3D models looked nice and some areas in Tartarus looked pretty good. Speaking of Tartarus, it was actually a lot more enjoyable.
In older versions of Persona 3, I just got sick of climbing the tower because every block felt the same despite having different themes. In Reload, how the floors are randomly generated depends on which block you’re on, so that helped them all stand out. Music was completely redone and there were even some entirely new tracks including a really good battle theme and another one for when you go out at night. Characters also had new voice actors, including social links which were previously voiceless.
The new VAs did pretty good, especially Junpei’s. Overall, it was interesting playing this older game with a bunch of new content, although, like most sane people, I believe charging $70 for a remake of a game from 2006 is ridiculous. And it’ll cost even more to get The Answer when it comes out. That aside, it is a pretty good remake and you should check it out if you liked Persona 3 or even if you found the original annoying because of Tartarus. Either way, you’ll probably get some enjoyment out of it.

The best time to watch a video from Conor is all the time, except maybe not during a funeral or when you're being murdered... but for the times you CAN watch (like when you're on the toilet), you can watch his first Q&A since 2020!: https://youtu.be/pPZ_kh-Twdk

March 18th, 2024 - Apollo Justice Trilogy (2024)
After Capcom rereleased the original trilogy so many times, it was nice to see them rerelease the later games in the series for once. This is the first time 4-6 have been available on actual consoles. Previously, it's just been pure handheld devices and mobile. This compilation is a HUGE improvement over the 2019 release of the original trilogy. Not only that but it's a much better collection than Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.
There a few quality of life features here and there with the older games getting mechanics from later games in this package. There are a few things to play around with in the menus too like being able to change the backgrounds for each game or the music that plays for each game. Then there's all the extra content to look at. Definitely feel like more effort went into this than Chronicles. There is a bit of clash with one game being 2D sprites and the other two having 3D models but despite that, it all plays well and looks damn good.
This is the best way to play all three of the games so far and it actually made my least favorite Ace Attorney game a little bit more enjoyable. For the most part, I still feel the same about all of the games. Apollo Justice (AA4) is one of my favorite games because of the dialogue, Dual Destinies (AA5) is, well, Dual Destinies, and Spirit Of Justice (AA6) I love because of how unhinged it is.
If you love Apollo or any of the games from his era or you have yet to play these three, I highly recommend you pick this up. These games might be divisive but if you end up liking Ace Attorney, chances are you'll like at least one or two of them.

Did you know you needed a video from Conor about peoples' most wanted video game sequels and remakes? I didn't either but that's probably because you don't actually need it. But that's not gonna stop it from existing!: https://youtu.be/2Q4YiQTUfe8

February 27th, 2024 - Another Code Recollection
I had been wanting to play these games but never got around to it so when they came to Switch, I made sure to pick this collection up and what I got was too very enjoyable casual mystery games back to back. Having played Kyle Hyde's games, I figured other games by the same studio would be good and I was not disappointed and managed to get it all done in just a few sittings.
Story to both games isn't anything too crazy imo until we get to the end of the second one. Gameplay is fine but some of the puzzles can be a bit confusing and hard to control. Overall, I liked the story of Two Memories more than Journey Into Lost Memories, but the latter had a much better endgame. I wasn't surprised by it being remakes of two games back to back, but there's no game selection. You do the first game and the second game.
Not even an option to select a game after you finish both of them. Not a big deal, but a bit weird we don't get the option. I never played the first game on DS or the second game on Wii, so I can't really compare, but I imagine this whole package is more similar to the Wii sequel. Definitely recommend this to anyone that likes puzzle games or enjoyed Hotel Dusk/Last Window.
