The thing about December being a middle child is that so much about her is credited to being the younger sibling of Nova, JJ and Jules but she’s also an older sibling to half the damn family. And honestly… she’s really not good at it. :( Like of course she tries but she doesn’t have any of the patience Nova had and not any of the stubbornness to try that JJ has and I think it makes it really hard for her to connect with them or try to take care of them in maybe the ways that she should. But in the end this actually ends up being exactly what’s needed because when she moved in with March she never for an instant even tries to baby them or be their big sibling. I don’t think she ever even really thinks about herself in terms beyond March’s family you know, like she doesn’t try to fill that role unless it’s absolutely needed. It’s better for everyone as they all come into their own as adults I think but it does make me frown a little when I realize she doesn’t want to be a big sibling really bc in her mind that is a role that was only ever filled by Nova (hurts) or JJ (pisses her off) :(

the boys, ah yes, indeed!

One of the headcanons I definitely have is that Sam totally sneaks into the kitchen before he properly knows Buddy and steals several of his brownies that he makes for the camp on Fridays.

Something about his brownies just has that extra bit of oh fucking god feeling, the perfect amount of crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, then there's that extra taste that he just can't quite put his finger on.

Sam confesses to Buddy, I wanna say, after a year of dating him and you, Buddy bursts out laughing. He knew the ENTIRE time and said nothing. He thought it was funny as hell.

“I don’t know if it can do this. I just — I just don’t know.” Claire shakes her hands out in front of herself, pinkies brushing up against the white tulle skirt. Her chest as she tries to take a deep breath through the constraints of her sparkly bodice. 

“You can,” Lucy catches one of her hands and squeezes it gently. If only she weren’t old hat at pep talks in bridal suite bathrooms. “You can do this. Today is about you and Scott and everyone who’s turning out to support you two in this next step of your lives.”

Thought about the comparison of Angel and Zephyr. Thought about how Zephyr sees so much of himself in Angel and understands exactly how they’re feeling and why. Thought about how he sympathizes with Angel, but is also excited despite himself to find someone else like him and Silas, but even more than that is jealous of them. Thought about how it stings seeing someone be so loved and accepted even after the hurt they inadvertently caused for reasons beyond their control when he's never been treated the same. Thought about the difference between seeing yourself as a monster when the monstrous is separate from you, and being seen as a monster when all you want to be is accepted for who you are. They're so similar and yet so different, they understand each other and at the same time could never understand. It makes me very sad, I hope they end up good friends.
