This was a super interesting custom order I had the privilege to complete for one of my awesome repeat customers! This customer is a biologist who has been working with vernal pools and requested I create an artistic representation of an amphibian egg mass as a glass ornament. For those of you who may not know, many amphibians (like frogs and salamanders) lay their eggs in gelatinous clusters in the water, often attached with sticks and algae. I have found egg masses like this when playing in ponds and swamps as a kid. It was a cool project to make one in glass. 🐸🥚🌿

Spontan habe ich mich heute dazu entschlossen, noch ein wenig kreativ zu sein. Beim rumstöbern entdeckte ich erst eine Inspiration für japanisches Patchwork und gegen später noch eine weitere Inspiration für einen japanischen Beutel. Jetzt patche ich erst frei nach japanischer Art, genannt Boro, allerdings nicht von Hand, sondern mit der Maschine. Und morgen oder so nähe ich aus dem gepatchten Quadrat einen Beutel. Ich bin tatsächlich gespannt, ob das was wird.
