Aw, thanks!
It’s a little wild to realise I’m now closer to thirty than I am to twenty… Feels like time went really fast. ^^;

The riders transform... only to find out that their suits now magical girl versions of their rider forms (with a cute skirt to boot). Their reactions?
“...What the fuck?” *stares at skirt in embarrassment*

Dad and Son Au for Fuwa + smol Aruto and the mbjr.fam moving into the apartment next door!
20 years later, I get around to this. But really, thank you so much for asking this. ^^ Makes me feel special.
Fuwa is a police detective with a strong case record, but an infamously short temper. He amicably separated from his wife several years ago, but the two stay in regular contact, though she insisted that their twin children, Aruto and Izu, stay with him rather than sharing custody, citing that her family weren’t ‘children people,’ though she still visits when she has time. Fuwa isn’t surprised—he knows Yua’s family are incredibly wealthy, and effectively cut her off when they originally got together, and isn’t particular interested in meeting them anyway, more interested in trying to find a balance between work and looking after the kids.
Until one day, when he’s abruptly informed that her father is none other than the CEO of ZAIA Enterprise, Amatsu Gai wants exclusive rights to the children, claiming to be acting on her behalf. Concerned by what little Yua did tell him, Fuwa fights the bid—launching them into a massive legal battle that escalates as it becomes very clear that Amatsu will stop at nothing to get the kids, and doesn’t seem to have any qualms about using underhanded methods—to the point that Fuwa isn’t even sure who he can trust in his own department.
In the midst of the rising tension, Fuwa comes home one night to find the twins playing with a little boy he doesn’t recognise, dressed in clothes that are clearly handmade. The children inform him that the boy, Jin, just moved into the apartment next door with a younger brother, his big siblings, and their ‘Papa.’ The kids become fast friends, and it turns out the ‘big siblings’ are a grouchy, attitudinal teenager named Raiden who dresses in old gym clothes, a small, quiet, unassuming brunette named Naki who likes to sew their own clothing and is quite skilled at it, and a baby merely called ‘An-chan’ by the other kids. They’re all homeschooled. They don’t talk about where they lived before, and when he asks both Raiden and Naki get strange, suspicious looks in their eyes. ‘Papa’ remains a tall, amorphous shadow, who Fuwa only catches glimpses of on the stairs at night, flitting down the hall in a patchwork coat. And yet, though he can’t quite put his finger on it, there seems to be something familiar about those fleeting glances.
One day, things get bad very fast when Izu is literally grabbed off the street in front the building by a van that doesn’t say ZAIA, but Fuwa damn well knows it’s them. And there’s one other issue—instead of taking Aruto w/ her, the kidnappers grab Jin. Fuwa tries to pursue the van, leaving Aruto with Raiden and Naki, but the vehicle escapes. Just when he’s turning around to rush back the apartments to plan, he find a literal katana in his face, and its holder wearing a familiar handmade coat.
But that’s not all he recognises. ‘Papa’ is a tall blonde man wearing a purple, beaded head wrap, wielding the sword like an expert, with a stony expression Fuwa knows well. He wouldn’t exactly call himself and Horobi ‘rivals’ or anything that dramatic, but they’ve crossed paths before; Horobi was responsible for one of Fuwa’s largest unsolved cases, a bomb explosion in a city square that he was was badly injured in. Known as the ‘Scorpion,’ swordsman is the lead enforcer for a mysterious crime organisation known as MetsubouJinrai, and the right hand of one of the most dangerous masterminds in the world who identifies herself solely as the ‘Ark.’ Or he was—until he abruptly dropped off the underworld map six years ago.
But heres Horobi, fuming, icily demanding to know where his ‘son’ is. Eventually, Fuwa manages to explain that his daughter was taken too, and Horobi reluctantly backs down and agrees to hear him out. It turns out Jin is Horobi’s son and the reason he disappeared six years ago when the Ark revealed she wanted to indoctrinate his child into the very same life he’d been brought up in. Raiden, Naki, and even An-chan were other children she was intending to ‘train.’ Their conversation reveals something else—Amatsu and the Ark are in league and are planning something, but Horobi left before he could learn what. What he does know is that it involves the children the Ark intended to train as assassins, and the large technology company Hiden Intelligence; the CEO and founder of which, Hiden Korenosuke, just died under mysterious circumstances… Leaving behind no family members or clear successors other than his vice president.
But the law isn’t going to take the word of an assassin on the run, and there’s no way to tell how much ZAIA or even the Ark control, and the bastards still have their children. Both desperate and w/ similar enemies and goals, the two opposite fathers form a very unexpected alliance and resolve to get Jin and Izu back… W/ a little help from Aruto and the other kids, who refuse to be left behind.
… Wow, okay, that took off. I’m sure if mused on it more I’d find more baby Aruto stuff, but I felt so bad for taking so long to get to this in the first place!
I am happy to do more AU hcs, though, if anyone wants to throw one at me!

Gekiranger for the ask! (gekigekigekigekigeki)
Gekiranger! Oh, boy, been a while since I watched that. ^^
Favourite character: Hard to say… Perhaps Retsu and Gou. Was also pretty intrigued by Long.
Funniest character: Jan for me. He was so sweet and adorable, and that ep where he spent the whole time worrying about their lineup was so cute. Miki’s Kid also warrants a mention.
Best-looking character: Gonna have to say Rio. Though… Long puts up a good argument.
3 favourite ships: I had ot3 vibes from the main trio, Rio and Meelee were cool, and… I don’t think I really have anything else.
Least favourite character: The elephant dude. Also wasn’t too fond of some of the stuff Sharkie said, though the majority of the rest of his character was rather endearing, and they did address the things I took issue w/ a bit later, sort of.
Least favourite ship: Long w/ anyone. I dunno, he was a fun creepy villain, but I just didn’t get any of those kinds of vibes from him.
Reason why I watch it: Jan’s adorable smile, the main trio’s shenanigans.
Why I started watching it: I always try to at least check out the current Sentai.
Also just loved Long’s costume design. It was very nice.

If you don’t mind me doing another one, Ryuki?
As long as you don’t mind that I never really watch all of Ryuki. ^^;
Favourite character: Ron. I mean. Ren.
Funniest character: Shinji and Ron I mean Ren as a duo are pretty entertaining.
Best-looking character: Hmm… I think I have to go w/ Ron I mean Ren again. Though fortune teller dude was pretty attractive, too.
3 favourite ships: From what I have watched, I’m pretty down w/ Shinji and Ren. Including the fortune teller guy whose name I cannot remember and I feel bad for in that in some way is also cool. Oh, and Takaoka and Goro. … Those where their names, right? The lawyer dude and hie Yakuza bf. Wow, why can I suddenly not remember the names of anyone in Ryuki?
Least favourite character: Uhhhh… Probably the snake dude w/ the too much cleavage. I tired of him pretty quickly.
Least favourite ship: Gonna be honest, fortune teller and that crab dude (he was a crab, right) from the Rider Time special, bc of the way it was portrayed. There was some implications about that that were Not Great. Though I guess some kudos for trying?
Reason why I watch it: Shinji and Ron I mean Ren’s giant leather coat. I dunno why but it was so funny to me.
Why I started watching it: Trying to explore some of the ‘older’ Rider seasons.
Like I said, I must confess that I have not watched all of it, and so my knowledge of it is incomplete. Also, I have apparently just forgotten everyone’s name except Shinji and Ron’s. Ren’s.

Hmm, if they are going to go with Yua being adopted, insert montage of smol Yua being picked up by Gai, him treating her to the finer things in life (i doubt that orphans get to eat nice sushi) at first ofc, and then punishing her as soon as she “falls out of line” (aka her doing kid stuff) + threatening to throw her out. She’s subjected to playing a sick game of reward and punishment with him for most of her childhood, so it’s already second nature for her to follow his every command ;—;
It would make a lot of sense, given her behaviour and his assumption that she’s going to keep following him.
Fuwa may have been the first closest thing she had to a friend in a long time (as much as I suspect she was for him)… Not that I’m saying I think they were actually friends at the start, but I think they kinda had a weird sort of respect relationship? I dunno how to explain it, but I think he recognised her not being driven away by his anger and actually fighting back, and she just appreciated the fact that, despite his hotheaded personality, he was at heart an honest person who treated her more like and equal. If that makes sense.

The magazine scan is still going on about oh so very evil the Ark is + how Ark One is gonna bring humanity to ruin, so it doesn't seem like the Ark is no longer in the final boss position, for me at least. And I hope with every fiber of my being that this keeps Horobi from being Zero One's "true" villain because he sure as hell doesn't deserve that.
Same here… Though honestly, the whole thing just… Totally bewilders me? Like… What is even going on? I’m half hoping it’s some fake out plan to lure Ark One out or something? Bc it feels kinda weird to see Fuwa and Yua using their base forms like that? Like… Maybe Yua bc she only got two forms, but… Why is Fuwa not using Rampage?
Like… I think it just kinda comes out of left field, bc all this set up they’ve had for his character, to the degree that Takahashi has allowed there to be set up, has been about how he wants to be Jin’s father, and how he can’t comprehend free will, and that, again, his true, personal dream is to be Jin’s father? Like… His only personal act was to… Protect Jin? So it… Feels really weird to be releasing a scan that sets him up as still a villain whilst… Simultaneously showing him henshining alongside Aruto and fighting Ark Zero? Unless it is more of the Ark’s plan, like w/ Raiden? Or they’re planning to have Horobi ‘betray’ Aruto to try and convince us he ‘really is beyond saving’… Even though he was pretty well on his way to recovery before a certain two people put the bloody Ark in his brain.
I’m still mad about episode 36, can you tell?
Anyway. It just… Feels… Really weird…

I know it’s a bit late, but happy valentines! All of the main riders are making chocolates together, so what kind of chaos ensues?
Well... between the 20 or so of them, only 3 can really cook- Shouichi, Souji and Shoutaro. The rest have varied level of experience and not at the level where the three aforementioned can help them all at the same time.
So inevitably, chocolate ends up somewhere chocolate shouldn’t be

For the ask game, what would want to do with the three CEO riders: Kuroto, Masamune, and Gai?
Oh, ouch.
Get randomly assigned as your lab partner for a whole semesterHonestly, Kuroto, bc I secretly find him entertaining. Though… Maybe only if Kiriya was one half of the lab partnership next to us… ^^
Get trapped with on a broken elevator for ten hoursI’m… Gonna go w/ Gai. Possibly the only amount of time I could stand the man… Or, alternatively, it’s somewhere he couldn’t run away when I murdered him.
Get as my employee trainer for my new job at McDonaldsThat… Leaves me w/ Masamune. … Do they have a walk-in freezer at MacDonalds? Could I lock him in there? Push him off the jungle gym, maybe?

Well since you’ve discussed Double earlier, all i can sing whenever hearing that Gai’s lengthy list of crimes has grown is “saa, omae no tsumi wo kazoe~” XD
Gai is like Eternal.
……
………
Fuck me, I can’t find the screen shot.
I had a screen shot once of Eternal’s ‘there’s too many to count’ response to the ‘count up your sins’ thing (at least I think that was Eternal… My dislike for him may be clouding my memory) that I was gonna add in here, but I can’t find it. :(

Is the character ask still going on? If so, I haven’t seen one done on Wolf Dad Fuwa yet~
My other fave! ^^
favorite thing about them: I love over intense hot heads bc I, too, am and awkward idiot who gets overly emotional.
least favorite thing about them: Eh, don’t like these ‘hints’ that he’s supposedly the ‘hooded ‘person.’ It’s not a version I like much, though I could be persuaded if they did it right. Like I’ll accept that ZAIA implanted something in his head when he was young (maybe they ‘rescued’ him from Daybreak or something) or he’s hypnotised or some shit. But no kill and replace, please. I prefer the character as a human, and that would be too cheap a way of getting rid of his character development to make him hostile to Aruto again.
favorite line: That whole sequence where they tell Horobi ZAIA had a Zetsumeriser and he protects Aruto and Izu and then gives Aruto a pep talk. Some damn fine father-ing right there.
brOTP: W/ his ‘fam,’ namely Yua, Aruto, and Izu. And we all know my eternal dream being him and Horobi being friends. ^^
OTP: HoroFuwa got to me and now it won’t leave. I don’t call it an OTP bc I don’t really have those, it’s more of a side indulgence. In the interest of disclosure, I can also be okay w/ FuwAruto if I disassociate enough to forget that Aruto’s actor is eighteen and I primarily see them as a familial relationship w/ Fuwa being Aruto’s dad friend/big brother surrogate. ^^;
nOTP: Him and Gai, which I also did to myself.
random headcanon: Fuwa is one of those people who runs at a slightly higher body temp than everyone else. This means he is wonderful for hugs, if he would just let other people get that close. ^^
unpopular opinion: Uh… I dunno. Maybe my analysis of how I think he’s better at seeing HumaGear as people, w/ an equal capacity for good and evil and choice, than Aruto is? But I feel like that’s more just small-time in general rather than actually unpopular. It’s just bc he doesn’t expect blind compliance and benevolence from them bc he wasn’t expecting it to begin w/, and it’s putting him on a more neutral footing than Aruto, who has more of a ‘they should be ‘x’’ view? Like, I don’t think it’s precisely either of their faults, it’s just the way that cookie crumbles—it’s… I dunno about ‘easier,’ but there’s a difference in tone between seeing good in those one had presumed ‘bad,’ and having to accept that those one has presumed to be exclusively ‘good’ are equally capable of ‘bad.’ Which is putting it in very simple terms, but I don’t want to clog up this Ask. ^^;
song i associate with them: Ignorance by Paramore, in regards to the state of his and Yua’s relationship, atm. Bad Reputation by Joan Jett also warrants a mention.
favorite picture of them: An absolutely shitty picture… Ryu was an angel and made a gif for me, but I don’t want to post that w/out her permission so have my screenshot. ^^ Anyway. That’s it. That smile. That’s when all my troubles began (aka, I present to you the exact moment I fell in love w/ Fuwa Isamu).

Ok one more for the ask: that nasty old guy, Gai
One thousand years later… My focus meter is refilled. ^^
favorite thing about them: Oh my, I do like me a certain type of bastard. ^^; I think Evolt was a little much for me, as excellent as his actor was, bc of the whole planetary-scale plan thing… Regular ol’ corporate capitalist douchebag is more my speed.
least favorite thing about them: How much the writers are making him focus on Aruto. It’s very ‘meh’ to me, and I don’t feel any intensity of drama to that ‘relationship’ like I get when Fuwa’s involved (and maybe Horobi, even???). In fact, that scene where they confront him about Horobi escaping just made it clear to me I could be interested in the Aruto and Gai dynamic as long as Fuwa was involved, or Horobi (*points to my own writing* so, Toei…)
favorite line: Oh, god, I don’t know. I think it’s going to have to go to his ‘You’re afraid of me, aren’t you?’ to Fuwa from ep 25.
brOTP: None, unless you count him getting stabbed in the leg by… Tsk, tsk. No spoilers now.
OTP: Him and a jail cell, honestly.
nOTP: Him and Horobi, which I did to myself. Also him and Aruto, though for different reasons… I just don’t get any intensity, chemistry, or real drama between them at all. On a scale of ‘Kairi and Zamigo’ to ‘Gai and Juggler’… They’re on the same spot as ‘Kairi and Zamigo,’ just about. A little further along bc they actually interact, at least, but about the same. I don’t doubt I could be getting more from the dynamic if it were written differently (and included other characters more, and was more personal…) but as it is, I just don’t.
random headcanon: Until proven otherwise, I will hold strong to the idea that Gai and Horobi met and have a history, that Gai helped the Ark hack him, and maybe even that it was Gai who removed his earpieces. If Toei won’t do anything w/ having Gai step on Horobi’s chest like that, then I will.
unpopular opinion: Maybe that I’m not that into him and Aruto? It seems to be pretty popular and I just… Don’t feel it. Personally, for me, it doesn’t feel like there’s enough there. Maybe it’s bc Aruto isn’t that interesting to me? Ugh, but sometimes he is… I dunno.
song i associate with them: Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame. No, I have not been thinking about PMBT (she said, like a liar).
favorite picture of them: At first I was like ‘I have no pictures,’ and then I remembered this one from the most recent ep, which I like mostly bc of the Firefighter who is taller than both of them standing there like ‘wtf???’

You know, I just REALLY want to see a scene of Jin breaking down (pun sure as hell intended) and a bit of og Jin coming through because he realized horrible crap he done to Horobi throwing him under the Ark bus like that. I do feel like he was reprogrammed into doing that stuff (would be cool if it was not dead Korenosuke behind that).
I would love that, bc what’s mainly bothering me is how he appears to just not care at all. Like, there’s stuff that’d still be weird, but I could just attribute it to Takahashi doesn’t care to actually write proper relationship development and some other saltier opinions, but the fact that Jin is acting like he cares so much about these humans he barely knows whilst at the same time apparently not giving a crap about throwing Horobi to the wolves like that is… Very strange. Like, if it was genuinely a thing where they made it clear it was something he either believed or had been made to believe was something he had to do, and it hurts, but he genuinely thinks there’s no other choice… I would much rather watch that than… This.
I have a vain, fake hope that now, after being possessed by the Ark himself, Jin’s going to realise exactly what he put Horobi through and realise he fucked up, but I don’t know if I trust Takahashi to do that.
Hmm… *looks back at a post I made once of a shady interpretation of Korenosuke being responsible for Jin’s revival and his intention being to ‘kill two birds w/one stone’ by having Jin disrupt ZAIA’s actions while simultaneously planning for Jin, a HumaGear not made w/ a purpose of serving humans and who therefore does not ‘belong,’ to die in the process or maybe ‘find his proper place’ in some way that benefits humans (for me, this would be an explanation of his one-eighty attitude, esp towards Aruto)* … I’m inclined to hope so.

Now I’m remembering the post you made a long time ago about the difference between the Drivers and the Risers, so there is a chance (unless he had a chip installed in his head all this time) Gai could just used the Ark Driver without needing a chip/being a Humagear. The Ark somehow hacked Aruto, who we know hasn’t unknowingly had anything implanted in his brain unlike Fuwa, back when MCH was debuting.
I forgot I made that post! XD Maybe I’ll dig it up.
You raise a good point, just inserting MCH in to the Zero-One Driver was enough for it to control Aruto… So it might be the combination of the Driver and Key that allows the Ark to jump to controlling a human, regardless of whether they have a brain computer. Admittedly, Zero-One was specifically said to link Aruto’s mind to Zea, and the Ark just seemed to hijack that link, and we don’t actually know how exactly the ThousanDriver works…
Well, no matter what, it’s Gai, he deserves it.
