tag meme: my top 9 characters

i was tagged by @regallibellbright so with no particular order lets get into it

I have decided to not put any characters of my own here because then this list would be filled with my characters and nothing else

also only one per series since i want this to be an overall representation of my favorite characters

1.Phosphophyllite/Phos (land of the lustrous)

Phos is by far one of my favorite characters due to how they change throughout the series

also watching them suffer is what got me my permanent angst craving

phos is one of those characters that unfortunately due to being by far the most popular character in the series the fandom tends to dislike every other character in the series (particularly in this case since a lot of the other characters have mistreated phos in some way) which i think is a disservice to those characters

but phos is still my favorite

2.Blake Thorburn (Pact: Devils and Details) (no art for him because im too lazy to ask for permission to put him here and i dont want to put a piece of art on my post without permission)

ill be honest it was hard to pick if Taylor or Blake were going to be put here, since i didnt want to put two wildbow protagonists here, and while Worm was much more enjoyable for me to read i think Pact was a much more memorable story for me,

Since like blake struggled through the horrors, i struggled against decaying attention span

In general i gravitate toward fantasy stories more than superhero stories

3. Eve and aoi (birdie wing golf girls story)

hey remember a second ago when i was debating over which wildbow protagonist to put here because i didnt want to put both

Yeah fuck that these two are a pair because i love them both and refuse to seperate them

These two are genuinely one of my favorite protagonist duo's ever

like they are so funny with their insane antics and golf

4. Yuki Takamiya (thirteen sentinels aegis rim)

this one proved to be really hard to decide between Yuki, Okino or 426 since they are all favorites

i decided that it was best to fit one of the protagonists into this since it would be hard to talk about the other two without spoiling anything and needing a ton of context

from the second Yuki showed up i knew she would likely be a favorite

what i didnt expect was for her to be arguably one of the smartest characters in the game

I would say out of the protagonists she is the second smartest with Gouto being the smartest

Like i did not expect her route to be a detective story

5. Power (chainsaw man)

first person on this list who isnt a protagonist, and i did consider putting Asa instead of her and while i am undoubtedly more invested in Asa im also much more entertained by power

also i need to put one character who isnt a main character here lest i be seen as a basic bitch

6. Sayeon Lee (hand jumper)

we only have one season of her but this girl is so mentally unwell its like catnip to me

im eagerly awaiting the start of season 2

also to my surprise me reccomending vibes this webtoon caused a bunch of wormblr people to read this too so when season 2 starts i could probably talk to those people about it

7.Daan/ the doctor (fear and hunger termina)

this was a tough descision between Daan and Marina because while i love them both equally Daan has the better narrative in my head with his doomed by the narrative swag

8.Iwha (hero killer

she's cool when she murders people

9. Kikuri Hiroi (bocchi the rock)

girl who is doomed by the narrative

but the narrative is a slice of life so overall its not that bad

MY TOP 15 BL SERIES OF 2021

I did one of these for 2022, so figured I should do one for 2021, 2020 and then one for the shows before that. I started watching Bls seriously at the start of 2021, and its been such a fun journey. These lists are probably more so for me than anything else but maybe someone will find them helpful when trying to decide which ones to check out... let me know what your favs are!

1. We Best Love [Taiwan] - To date, my favorite BL series thus far. IMO it really has everything. Great premise and storyline, great acting and dialogue, and amazing chemistry between the main two, plus decent enough intimate scenes and kisses. It really ticks all the boxes for me. Plus, I love a good rivals to lovers storyline and samyu are pretty darn sweet.

2. Utsukushii Kare [Japan] - This one is a bit messy and there are definitely some problematic elements, but gosh, it's so entertaining. From start to finish I was hooked into the storyline and the relationship betwene the main two. And I think it was a well-rounded story with a good ending, so it left me pretty satisfied. For a Japan series too, it had a nice kising scene in the finale.

3. Light on Me [Korea] - Adore this series, and finally we get a longer Korean BL. The main characters were adorable, and the show was light enough and funny but had some good drama as well. Not the best kissing scenes ever but the main two's chemistry made up for it imo. Very sweet series.

4. To My Star [Korea] - This one took a few watches to grow on me but in hindsight its one of the better BL's out there (lets not talk about season 2)... the storyline was fun and it was one of the first Korean BL's that I watched, so it was a good one to start on! Korea goes unmatched for me with their BL's.

5. Kieta Hatsukoi [Japan] - Not a lot to say about this one tbh, I would have to rewatch to really give some better insight but I remember really enjoying this one. Japan BL's can tend to be a bit dramatic and sometimes a bit dark, but this one was so light and fluffy. It was a nice change of pace.

6. Don't Say No [Thai] - Okay, storyline wise, this BL kind of dragged for me. I didn't find the premise overly interesting. HOWEVER, Jafirst and their chemistry really made up for it. It's obvious how comfortable they are and their kissing scenes were one of the best scenes from this year. (We won't bring up THAT scene with FIAT in episode 2 (or was it 1?) because I lost my brain there.) But yeah, we'll just say this series was very enjoyable haha.

7. HiStory 4 [Taiwan] - This was a solid season. Not the best the series has ever done but I love that each season is different. The brothers storyline was a hot frickin mess but the main pairing was cute. Overall, I just found it very enjoyable.

8. Peach of Time [Korean] - Is this Korean or Thai? Not really sure, but it was a cute season that felt like a bit of both worlds. Not the most amazing chemstry or storyline of all time but it was sweet and interesting to watch. It had a certain charm to it.

9. You Make Me Dance [Korean] - It's hard to find a korean bl I dislike. And while this one is not that memorable compared to some others, it was still a nice watch.

10. Tale of a Thousand Stars [Thai] - People go crazy for earth+mix... they aren't really my cup of tea. Nothing against them, they are sweet, I just dont go crazy for them. The setting wasn't really my thing either but I did like the energy between the characters and all their cute moments and scenes, so it kept me entertained. Wished they had a better last kiss though.

11. Lovely Writer [Thai] - Found parts of this boring and the storyline didn't really hold my interest all that much but I did enjoy the scenes between the couples. I wish the side "pairing" had gotten more focus cuz that kiss on the street was great! But it was nice.

12. I Promised You the Moon/I Told Sunset About You part 2 [Thai] - Part 2 was nothing compared to season 1 at all. Season 1 imo was masterpeice and season 2 was just like a typical bl series imo. I hate cheating storylines so this series made me pretty mad haha but it wasn't UNWATCHABLE and I still liked the chemistry between the main 2.

13. Nobleman Ryu's Wedding [Korean] - The time setting wasn't really for me, but it was a cute and fun series. Not much else to say!

14. Fish Upon the Sky [Thai] - TBH I don't remember a WHOLE lot from this series and am planning to rewatch for pondphuwin, but I do remember enjoying it.

15. The Tasty Florida [Korean] - Again, can't go wrong with SK for me. But, compared to the other Korean series, this one wasn't AS good. Still enjoyable.

Honorable mentions: (Won't go into detail on these, but overall I found all of them nice and pleasant to watch, but they didn't grab me in the same way as some other series.

BxJ Series - (still have yet to see it but I did enjoy season 1), Bad Buddy - (watched a reactor watch this so technically couldn't add it to my list, but will try to watch it eventually), Be Loved in House I Do, Tinted With You, My Sweet Dear, The Man Who Defies the World of BL, The Novelist, Behind Cut, Stuck on You

Summer 2022 Anime Opinions

On this episode of “Ranking the anime I watched” we get the go girl give us nothing season

Anyways more on my thoughts, overall a very bad season ngl, next one will be packed tho so I am excited. Here are my thoughts from least to fav:

Orient

Nothing happens in this show, nothing stands out, its generic af, I am ngl I dont even know what is happening at this point. I fell asleep during one ep so if that's any indication to anything there you go. Orient has a nice concept in theory but they just have no idea at all how to execute it.

Engage Kiss

God I was searching for gifs to put here and I hated all of them. Have this kinda cool fight scene so I can save you from those kissing and groping gifs. This is just not my thing. If you enjoy waifu bait with annoying characters then there you go but I just can't enjoy it, I dislike everyone in this show rip, they had a nice idea in concept ig

Fuuto Tantei

I AM SO MAD BECAUSE I REALLY WANTED TO LIKE THIS ONE SO MUCH AND I TRIED SO HARD BUT I CANT STAND IT EITHER ASDGHFD. I hate the hat guy. He annoys me deeply and I can't pinpoint why. I like green haired dude but I literally cancer their me or anything that happens but I just don’t like it It makes me so devastated.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu 2nd Season

Rent a girlfriend is cheap entretainment. Entertainment, but cheap one nonetheless. SKSKSKS Ngl as much as I like to dunk on it, at least this one makes me want to actually WATCH it each week. I hate most of the things that happen and I could get into a deep discussion of very problematic themes but its kinda funny to see it go down. I like watching reality TV and this feels like it; watching some hot garbage that you know will spiral but its still kinda addictive so that's that. Sumi and Chizuru best girls am I right or am I right?

Bucchigire!

Its okay. If you like demon slayer I feel like you could like this, the animation is a bit different from usual but its fine. Not my thing tbh I am not into the whole fighting thing but its not bad, just not my thing.

Shadows House 2nd Season

Shadows house continues to be shadows house. I dont understand anything that happens but hey at least they have good music to go with it so that's that I guess.

Hataraku Maou-sama!!

I’ve never liked this show sorry. I just like malewife and he is not very relevant this season so it goes in the mid tier.

Lycoris Recoil

this is where I get hate train ASDGFHJ I know everyone loves Lycoris Recoil and while I dont necessarily dislike it I just think its... okay? I think I enjoy the dynamic of the main characters the most but the rest is just way too convoluted and I feel uncomfortable with some scenes were they kinda try to sexualize the minors. Like I know it happens on literally every anime but it still makes me iffy. It has cool animation and an interesting concept its just maybe not my thing but I still enjoy some parts.

Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 2nd Season

I think I got to rewatch this show before watching season 2 because I can't remember shit JAJAJAJA. I feel like its a good show and I liked season 1 in the moment but I am so lost with what's happening and who's who that it takes away from the enjoyment. Again its not bad its just... confusing for me sorry orz

Kami Kuzu☆Idol

There's literally no other gifs for this anime that's how under the radar it is asdfgh. I am not saying go watch it, the first eps were better than the others but I mean its still okay. I like idol shows but if you dont then maybe skip on it, the concept is interesting but it doesn't really follow through.

Yofukashi no Uta

I rhink I enjoy the visuals and music moire than the show itself ASDFGBJH I dont like vampire shows usually but its alright I guess. I think the visuals and designs are very unique and cool looking, I really like the music and I just wish the story had a pull on me to rate it higher ;;w;

Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru

To the shows I actually kinda enjoyed this season, this is one of them. Its cute in a “nothing really happens” kind of way but its stilll wholesome. I wish it was a bit more of a slow burn because I enjoy those and they seem to already be deep in their feelings fast but its still cute I liked it.

My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex

BEST GIRL BEST GIRL SHE JUST LIKE ME FR !! Lol surprisingly this show isn't complete trash. Its not peak level romcom or anything but its okay, I like some of the characters and its funny sometimes. I wish it leaned more on the comedy side for it to be funnier than serious but its still an okay watch in my opinion.

Kumichou Musume to Sewagakari

I love found families, they are so important and special to me ngl. I really like this anime!!!! its cute and soft and slice of life and they have Rei in it and its so wholesome and they have Rei in it.... Give it a watch if you enjoyed Spy x Family and Hinamatsuri

Dr Stone OVA

I LOVE CAPITALISM I MEAN RYUSUI NANAMI I MEAN CAPITALISM I MEAN. Woah have you ever seen such a red flag because I have not I love him this was great they adapted it so good and it was great seeing my fav pirate. He is literally everything I look for in a man; a pirate, bisexual AND rich. Others wish to have what he does. SKSKSKS Jokes aside, it was very good, I am still bitter with dr stone but Ryusui made me forget about it in this OVA so that's that, go give it a watch.

Sasaki to Miyano OVA

everyday I wake up knowing sasaki and Miyano are out there being soulmates, happy and in love canonically and this OVA was just the perfect way to celebrate it! It says a lot about the season that my fav anime was a filler OVA who ranks this high because the characters are just THAT influential. Oh and Kagi also said he would be a dog for Hirano, that was pretty epic too. You can watch this one 12 times and make up for a whole anime of the other mid ones that were aired, 10/10 experience.

some elden ring thoughts now that ive beaten it and am close to getting through another run. i still love the game a lot but a lot of this will probably read very critical lol

i definitely love this game more than i dislike it, but now that the hype has died down and ive had more time with the game ive come to realize a few things about it that i dont like all that much or are just unfortunate observations

i think the developers really spent all their time and resources on designing each level and making the gameplay feel as satisfying as possible. this is a good thing, and i would rather every game do this at the expense of everything else. however, the expense this has on quest lines gets really hard to ignore in the latter half of the game, and it does a lot to show how a lot of the last areas feel a little unpolished compared to the rest of the game

so far, almost all the quest lines ive been through have had two kinds of endings: one that ends unexpectedly and anticlimactically, or none at all. the seigmeyer equivalent in this game dies off screen and drops an item you can't do anything with. there's a guy named kenneth who you have to rescue but even after you rescue him he never leaves that spot. he tells you to clear the fort he lords over. as far as im aware, even after clearing the fort and talking to him he never goes back to that fort. apparently he's supposed to, but it doesn't seem to work for me

there's an npc who gives you a potion that you have to give to another npc, and if you get the chance to give it to them nothing comes of it. its never explained or ever brought up again as far as im aware. diallos, one of the first npcs in the game you meet, has an entire questline that goes up to an area halfway into the game, and once he disappears that's it for him. he drops a unique item, and the only time you can get it is the one time he's ever in the overworld, and you have no reason to fight him in that encounter.

usually id say this is classic from soft cryptic bullshit, but there are quite a few things that point towards the game not being finished. jarburg is the biggest piece of evidence pointing to the questlines and npcs being incomplete. in the games files there are numerous lines of dialog and two npcs who are supposed to show up there and possibly interact, but nothing really happens in that area at all.

also i just have to be honest, the game at times is too hard to be enjoyable. this will come down to your personal taste, but for me i don't enjoy bashing my head against a wall waiting for luck to be on my side and some of these encounters feel like that's the only way you're supposed to win. i dont mean any part of the first 50% of the game btw, i mean once you unlock the last 3 areas the game Cranks the bullshit factor up to 11. castle sol has a boss with two ads that have ~2500 health, can teleport, and have two greatswords on top of dealing frostbite damage, and the boss itself creates giant frostbite aoes when he does literally any move at all. that's just one example but there are so many more but this post is getting too long lol

there's a long period after you hit the mid point of the game where you don't feel adjusted to take on anything. and eventually you run out of things to do in the beginning areas either because youve completed most of it, or because the soul yield is so low that its not even worth it.

despite all this i still love elden ring. the game plays extremely fluidly, the level design is some of the best from soft has ever done, and the game is still endlessly entertaining. its understandable why there's a good chunk of unfinished content since the game is absolutely massive and detailed especially given how long it was being developed for. more than anything i really hope we see some balance patches for the absolutely bonkers enemy patterns there are some times, but id also really love to see npcs and stuff get finished and readded. doubtful, but i can hope

CHARMED 03X11 SPOILER REVIEW!!!!!!!!!

GENERAL THOUGHTS

They really done did that to my Jordan!!!! So are we all thinking that the Perfecti put Abby and Jordan in the prison because they are those stereotypical "perfect" beings that view almost everything that isn't them as corrupt and are putting away more than just evil jailbreak creatures away? Anyways! The episode was okay. It was solid entertainment and I have a few complaints but they are the same ones so doesnt really matter as far as affecting my view over the episode over all. 8/10 entertainment wise 6/10 lore wise. It was very predictable but it wasn't like so cliché that I eye rolled or anything like that. The ending for sure left me wanting the next episode immediately.

That all my general episode commentary. Now on to the dislikes! 👉

DISLIKES

1) Showing Self-Harm

Ya'll know how I feel in general about the Abby/self-harm-storyline. The show walks the line and makes me uncomfortable when it comes to issues of suicide and self-harm. This is one of those moments. Listen the character often have to self harm for spells, cutting hands and such. But to show, even for a small fraction of time, Abby's demon side clawing herself is one of those misteps. It would have been fine just to see the injuries. We know she is self harming we can put two and two together.

Its the same thing with suicide. I dont think shows should ever show someone completing suicide no matter the method. I feel the same way about self-harm because of emotional distress. I dont appreciate it, I think its a fine line to walk and I dont think the show should continue to toe the line the way they have been.

2) the book of shadows.

Didn't mel technically give it to Josefina? Was the surprise that she added a lot more to it? Because they didn't really look at its contents that much to see if she added a whole bunch.

3) I'm getting tired of the immortality issue

Let the man get rid of his immortality. It feels like a non issue unless 1) he ages rapidly without it or 2) he has to loose his powers (which is bs because even if they no longer have access to the spell, we know there are ways to keep your powers and remove immortality). But either way it's Harry's decision so he needs to make a decision and then go for it.

LIKES

1) Abby and Jordan

They have become the duo i didn't know would be enjoyable to see interact. I think its because Jordan isn't blind to Abby's faults and doesn't cut her slack, but doesn't let any dislike he has for her or her actions stop him from being compassionate and wanting to help. So when they are together it isnt cringe worthy like when Abby is paired with Harry, or uncomfortable when she is with Mel and Mel does or says something that I think is inappropriate for the situation.

If I am honest even when it was animosity, the only interesting interactions Abby has had were with Macy. That isn't to say she hasn't had genuinely good storytelling moments with Mel. She has, but I find that her interactions with Macy and now Jordan gave more insight to all thier characters even if it brought out not so nice character traits in them. Does that make sense? Anyways, Jordan and abby are a much more interesting pair to watch than any other adventure pairing except Harry and Jordan.

2) hacy moments

I'm a weak b*tch. I needed some hacy even though we got some the last episode. I love that Macy even though she claims to be focused on the now, wants to see herself growing old with Harry. I mean this is nice given that season 1 Macy took forever just to admit to wanting a relationship with a guy, and season 2 Macy was all over the place and still guarded with her desires.

Rupert does sad and angst like not other. I thought the shot of him looking at Macy at dinner was *chief's kiss* perfect camera work and editing.

EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS

Macy and Harry domesticity and cuddliness

Perfecti going after the dog doing math

Josefina having a little power trip

Perfecti say "screw everybody else"

New ceremony for witches getting thier powers that we've never seen before (i would have been happy with sisterhood of the poof)

Jordan and abby in the tomb

Im a new myday (hella late to the party tbh) so i dont know like anything about the guys. Can you tell me smths about them? Like Young K looks like hed be a player and Jae looks like a cute nerd tbh lol.. but i hear theyre not like that tho lol

lol oh my god !! they are like………….inhuman. I write so much about them but heres what I think the boys are really like:

young k: a big ass full ass crybaby but besides that, he’s such a smart, versatile and hardworking artist that really can do anything related to music and performance. for him to have been going to university pursuing a degree in business administration ALONGSIDE participating in the composition of their everyday6 releases is like……? you know that harry potter movie where hermione takes 15 classes or some bullshit like that n can only do so with this magical watch that helps her manipulate the time. that’s literally what young k does. he’s always so passionate about their music and has always been flooded with emotions during a lot of day6′s milestones. the mother figure of the band and always coos and actively responds to wonpil’s agyeo when everyone wants to murder him for it.

jae: always giving off the energy of a 15 year old teenager, but hiding behind the facade is a level headed, mature and thoughtful 15 year old teenager lmao !!! all the members have always said that he is a very straightforward person, never doing things with malicious intent. I personally think jae has one of the most stable and consistent vocals n his lives are always impeccable. that aside, a major, full…………tsundere. always saying he hates wonpil but turns around to compliment him, saying he has the most unique vocals in the band, how he’s very handsome regardless of how his hair looks. always learning and improving himself whether it be in music or in korean culture/language.

wonpil: exactly how he looks……. an eternal ray of sunshine, sirius A (the brightest star in the earth’s night sky aka the dog star, coincidentally wonpil is also born in the year of the dog so it makes sense.) similar to young k he loves to cry and will cry often @ a lot of day6′s events. he has always been extremely expressive about his feelings and being a type that will get his feelings hurt easily. just a plain sugar sweet strawberry doughnut that loves to joke around and scream and play with dowoon. someone that is physically impossible to dislike because he’s only ever crying or laughing theres no other side of him.

sungjin: the leader of day6, the holy lord of this universe, the cracker barrel cheese of cheeses (cracker barrel is my favorite and also the best cheese in the world). he’s always trying to keep up his image of being the tough man from busan but he’s a tender soul that has on many occasions said he’s been lacking confidence. yet, despite saying that he has always been filled with smiles and never shows ANY signs of feeling embarrassed when he does his weird ass dances. he’s always doing the absolute most for the enjoyment of my days whether its for pure entertainment or performance wise. one of the most visually spectacular people I have ever seen and he’s always a joy to look @ because he looks like the villager from animal crossing n we all know that guy is universally loved too.

dowoon: the mood maker maknae that the whole group takes care of, loves and compliments. he’s always speaking random shit that nobody ever understands but they still support him n encourage him nonetheless. always complimenting his hyungs and saying how talented they truly are so there are a lot of times where you can see dowoon in awe when his members sing. they in return always accuse dowoon of beating them up back @ the dorm lmaooooooooo !!!!!!!!!! he’s alike wonpil generally filled with smiles and if he’s not then he’s usually just staring into space lol he’s so cute. he’s still improving and learning all the time n his members are always pushing this kid forward. the future variety star of our century easy
