Luz’s mother really doesn’t want to send Luz to camp. She knows once she leaves, there is no going back. But Luz has a knack for getting into trouble, and one day she stumbles into the same type of people her mother would have preferred she avoided. After helping Luz dissolve her high school bully into dust, Eda and Lilith know right away that this kid is just like them - a child of the gods. So Luz hops on a Pegasus and heads to Camp Half-blood, where she embarks on a dangerous quest that makes her both friends and enemies... and she might even save Olympus along the way.
Chapter Thirty-Six: I Have the Best Summer Ever
The rest of Luz’s summer was a total blur of the best kind of amazing, fantastic, demigod-ness a kid could even imagine.
Luz’s days were filled with training in the arena, playing capture the flag, and hanging out with her friends. Every morning that she woke up and put on one of her orange t-shirts was another reminder that as of right now, she really had it good.
Sometimes in the mornings she and Eda would head out into the arena and spar while King took his usual sunbathing position a few feet away. Eda would parry and block her strikes, give her dirty tricks to use in upcoming games or events, and sometimes Luz would even get lucky enough to disarm her or pull something new she wasn’t expecting.
“I swear kid, one of these days you’re going to be even better than me,” she’d say, reaching down to ruffle her hair and switch her weapon and get ready for another round.
More than once, she and her siblings in the Hermes cabin had banded together to play some light-hearted pranks on the other cabins. Viney and Jerbo were a mischievous force to be reckoned with, and while Luz liked to participate she never really got lucky in the “getting away” part. More than once, Lilith had caught her in the act while she was placing a prank and turned a blind eye, and Luz always felt a rush of affection for the daughter of Zeus. It was asking a lot for her to not snitch, especially since she was a stickler for rules.
Luz made it up to her once or twice by pranking Eda on her behalf with a little bit of help from Edric and Emira. When her mentor showed up to the dining pavilion once with her hair sticking straight up in the air thanks to some magic hair gel, the laugh that came out of Lilith’s mouth made it all worth it.
At nights, Luz and Amity would sneak out of their cabins and hide from the harpies, sitting with their sketchbooks in the strawberry fields. They would laugh, and talk, and kiss, and enjoy each other’s company until one of them inevitably almost fell asleep and they decided to head back.
The wall of Luz’s bunk was soon tacked to the max with drawings, some of them of her quest, and some of them with fond memories of camp. She always did her best to text one to her Mami once in a while, and let her know how she was doing.
Luz made sure her cabin would try and team up with Gus and Willow’s whenever they could. The three of them were officially a force to be reckoned with during capture the flag. Their combinations and chemistry in battle often resulted in very easy and very early wins, and some of the other cabins were quick to point out they had an “unfair quest experience advantage”. While Eda had just shrugged, Willow did her best to make sure the teams would sometimes even out a little better after that.
Gods kept visiting camp here and there, usually to come by and say hello to their kids. Aphrodite had the habit of showing up unannounced and snapping her fingers, giving everybody an unrealistically fashionable outfit and hairdo, while the clothes they’d been wearing got snapped back to their bunks freshly washed and laundered. While some of the campers hated it, Luz didn’t mind. Aphrodite certainly had her style down to perfection, and pocketing another free outfit was always nice. Amity had other opinions on the matter.
“I just don’t get why she has to do this!” She complained, adjusting the pink t-shirt Aphrodite had magically slapped onto her. “It’s so weird!”
“I think that really suits you,” Luz shrugged while pointing to the leather jacket slung over Amity’s arm. “And your shirt says Hexside! How cool is that!”
Amity rolled her eyes as Luz did a spin, showing off her new green jacket and beanie to Gus and Willow. “She gave me new shoes too! My old ones are torn to bits from the quest.”
“You have to admit Amity, it’s nice getting free stuff,” Willow said while examining her own yellow jacket. “And she’s not the goddess of beauty for nothing. These are nice clothes.”
“My clothes look exactly like the ones I already own!” Gus complained, looking down at his simple navy button-up and jeans.
“If it isn’t broken don’t fix it!” Luz teased with a smile, patting him on the back. Amity groaned in embarrassment, slapping her hands to her face.
When Hermes showed up the first few times to visit the camp, Luz said hello to him, but also made sure that her other siblings got to spend some one-on-one time with their dad. As he was leaving the third time he visited, he pulled Luz aside for a quick chat.
“I just want to let you know that the gods have talked about adding an additional reward for you and your friends after what you’ve done for Olympus,” he said quietly, and Luz’s jaw dropped.
“I… I don’t need another reward dad. The way you guys have been showing up at camp is more than enough.”
Hermes tilted his head, smiling softly. “Perhaps you don’t need one, but the gods want to give it to you anyway. You have no idea the gravity of the situation that Belos had created upon Olympus. He almost destroyed us all.”
He looked around to make sure nobody was listening, and then leaned in to whisper.
“As the god of messengers, I was responsible for delivering a package to your mother and the rest of your companion's parents. You should hear from them shortly.”
Luz gaped. “What? What do you mean…”
Hermes reached over and gripped her shoulders. “I am proud of you, Luz. And trust me when I say I will make good on my promise and be there more for you and your siblings.” He winced rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. “And… don’t be the first one to use the shower this evening. Your siblings and I might have set up a bit of a cruel prank.”
With a flash of wind, leaving behind a thoroughly confused Luz, Hermes was gone.
Luz didn’t have to wait long to find out what exactly the gods had done, because her Mami was calling her on her cellphone almost immediately after.
“Luz! You’ll never guess what showed up in the mail today! You’ve been accepted for a full ride to a boarding school downtown…”
And she wasn’t the only one.
“I can’t believe this!” Gus had exclaimed while the four of them were sitting on the beach just after dinner. “We’re all going to the same school next year!”
“It really does seem too good to be true,” Willow grinned, handing Luz one of the illicit cans of Sprite that Viney had managed to sneak from out of camp in celebration. “My dads are sad that I won’t be staying at home in Wisconsin, but they had to admit it is a great opportunity.”
“I’m just excited to go to a school where I finally have real friends.” Luz had never been so happy to think about the start of a new school year before. “We’ll get to go see Olympus on the weekends! Working alongside the actual gods!” Luz turned to Amity, who was watching Luz with her own soft smile. “Are your parents… okay with this? After everything that happened…”
“Oh trust me, they’re more than pleased. They see this whole internship program to create a bridge between the gods and their mortal kids as a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity'. They’re even talking about paying for Edric and Emira to go with me and hope that my ‘success’ rubs off on them. They don’t love that you guys are also a part of it though…” Amity’s expression darkened for a moment, and Luz reached across the beach to squeeze her hand.
“I’m sorry,” Luz started, but Amity just shrugged her shoulders.
“Don’t apologize, this is a good thing. I’m going to get to stay here in New York full time.”
“We all get too!” Gus grinned, digging his hands in the sand like he was holding back a squeal. “Luz you’ve got to show us all your favorite moral spots in the city.”
Luz’s smile had stretched wide, already imaging the kinds of shenanigans she and her friends would get up to running loose in Manhattan. “Obviously! The city’s huge; we could do something new every night!”
“You’ll never be able to get away from us now,” Willow teased, passing Amity an amused look as she sipped from her Sprite. Amity tilted her head back and laughed.
“Oh gods, I better stock up on Advil. Between you three and the twins I’m going to have a constant headache…”
As it started to fade to late August, Luz’s days just kept getting better. Thanks to Eda and her training paired with the other camp activities, she was faster than she’d ever been, she could scale up the rock wall in record times, and her sword skills had gotten incredibly good.
So good, that when the annual sparring tournament came up in the arena towards the end of the summer, she’d been able to knock Boscha into the dirt with the pommel of Aletheia, leaving the red-faced daughter of Ares extremely bitter and her final opponent being none other than her girlfriend.
“No chance you’re going to go easy on me?” Luz asked at the campfire that night, really only half-joking.
“Nope,” Amity replied with a little smirk. “I’ve won this tournament two years in a row. I’m about to make it three.”
To say the camp was buzzing with excitement would be an understatement. The whole camp had watched as Luz the newbie quest hero and Amity Blight had grown obviously closer, and in the three days leading up to the final tournament match, the discussion of which girlfriend would be the winner was as common as asking what the harpies would serve for dessert that night.
“Come on, kid, this is what we trained for!” Eda said, smacking her shoulders encouragingly the night before the match. “I don’t care if she’s you’re little girlfriend, she won’t be going easy on you so you shouldn’t either!”
“Knock her into the dirt!” King screeched from his napping spot on the ground.
While they were only trying to help, it wasn’t the most reassuring advice she’d ever received.
Luz tried to turn a blind eye to the gossip leading up to the fight, but it was hard to ignore Emira and Willow exchange a bet right in front of her at breakfast right before the right.
“Seriously?” Luz scoffed, crossing her arms.
“Sorry Luz, but Mittens has years of training under her belt, and I’m out of allowance,” Emira shrugged while she shook Willow’s hand.
“You don’t see the way Amity acts around her,” Willow retorted. “If she’s like that today, Luz has a good chance.”
Emira hummed, “Shoot. I didn’t think of that.”
“Oh my gods,” Luz groaned, slapping both hands to her face, sinking into the bench of the table, mortified.
Once Luz had been fitted into a set of finally well-fitting bronze armor, she drew Aletheia and met Amity in the center of the field, where Eda and Lilith were standing to referee the match. As she approached, she watched Amity coming from the other side, armor almost identical to Luz’s strapped over an orange camp shirt, the crowd of campers cheering in excitement. As her gaze flitted up to Amity’s eyes, there was a glint that reminded Luz that Amity was not the person she wanted to be on the bad side of.
It was too easy to forget weeks after their quest that Amity was a demigod force to be reckoned with and not the kind of enemy you wanted to have.
As the crowd quieted to an anticipated hum, Lilith raised her hand. Her mouth was cocked in an uncharacteristically juvenile smirk. It made Luz wonder if the campers hadn’t been the only folks at camp to place bets. When Eda shot Luz a cartoonish smile with two thumbs up, before patting her pocket knowingly, it confirmed her suspicions.
Gods. Now she really couldn’t lose. Eda would never forgive her.
“Amity! Luz! Are you ready?”
With a single touch to her own wrist, Dike sprung into its full form, lifted just high enough to cover the grin that was spreading across Amity’s face. She swung her sword experimentally in her hand, the little flecks of a glinting in the sun. “Yep.”
Luz took a deep breath and raised her own blade nodding once. “Ready as I’ll ever be.”
“No holding back, right?” Even though Amity had phrased it as a question, Luz knew better. It was a challenge. The nerves in her stomach faded, and a laugh escaped her lips.
“Since when have I ever held back? ”
She smirked, “good point.”
“Alright your adorable banter is literally making me sick,” Eda scoffed, “let’s just do this already.”
Lilith rolled her eyes, dropping her hand. “Begin!”
Without wasting another beat, Amity charged and swung, and Luz lifted Aletheia to deflect it. A loud metallic clang echoed around the arena, and the watching campers erupted into cheers.
It was Luz’s toughest match yet.
The two of them traded blow for blow, each pushing the other to their limit. Amity was, inarguably, better trained, with mastered precision and skill that left Luz reeling with each strike. But Luz was more creative. She was able to flick her sword at the right angle to push her off balance and shove, she was able to dodge and weave without the extra weight of a shield, and she was crazy enough to take steps closer to her and press into her personal space, forcing her to recalculate moves.
As the fight went on for some time, the cheering got louder, their arms got heavier as they began to slow down, and the fighting got dirtier.
Luz did it first, though it was kind of an accident. Amity went to swing when she’d knocked Luz off balance, and she knew she wasn’t going to be able to stop it before it cut into her armor. Amity would have taken it out on herself later if she’d seriously hurt Luz, so it came out as more of an instinctual shout.
“Too low!”
She closed her eyes bracing for impact, but it never came. With a woosh, the sword went right over her head. She opened her eyes and saw Amity’s misty eyes clearing, before changing to a completely indignant look.
“Did you just use your Hermes bartering on me?”
She smiled sheepishly and swung Aletheia towards her, and Amity barely had time to raise her shield to deflect it.
She could hear the snorts and chuckles from both Eda and the crowd, but Luz barely had time to be proud of herself. Within the next two swings back and forth, Amity got her revenge.
Luz swung upwards, flicking the blade and finally getting a decent move that knocked her off balance. But as Luz went to disarm her, Amity’s eyes flashed and a curled smile crept up her face right as Luz brought her weapon forward.
“Don’t!”
And for a moment, all Luz could feel was the thrum of her heartbeat in her head as her vision went blurry. There was an overwhelming urge to get rid of Aletheia, back away, stop herself from getting any closer to Amity. All she could think about was how she couldn’t hurt her, wouldn’t even try. When her vision cleared, she had backed up five feet, and her sword slipped from her hand and clattered in the dirt.
She blinked, trying to figure out what had just happened before it dawned on her that she’d seen Amity do this once before. Aphrodite’s passion.
Luz looked down at the sword, then up at Amity, scowling. “Really?”
Despite the smirk on her face, Amity’s eyes were sparkling with humor and affection. “You started it.”
Luz barely had time to leap out of the way from another swing, doing her best to make a grab for the sword, but Amity wasn’t coming to play. She stepped right over it, and for a couple of moments, all Luz had was her speed. She ducked and dodged and weaved between swings, doing nothing but buying herself a tiny bit of time.
It wasn’t enough. Luz tried to make one last grab for the sword and Amity reached out with her hand, grabbing Luz by the arm and honest-to-gods judo flipping Luz over her shoulder. With a comically loud “oomph!” Luz was thrown onto her back, looking up at Amity as she grinned, her sword lifted in a faux-threatening position just below her chin.
“Alright,” Luz groaned, slapping her hand against the dirt. “Mercy.”
As Luz heard Eda groaning behind her and Lilith’s positively gleeful “and the winner is Amity Blight!” Amity sheathed her sword, reaching down with one hand and pulling Luz up to her feet.
And yeah, it was a tiny bit embarrassing to lose to Amity. But as her girlfriend lifted her fist to the roaring crowd of campers and grinned, her own hand wrapped tightly around Luz’s, she couldn’t find it in her to care.
The following night was Luz’s last night at camp before her first summer as a camper was over. She sat at the dining hall for hours with her siblings, joking, laughing, promising to stay in touch over the school year. Viney ruffled her hair and passed her an emergency pouch of Hermes tricks, while Jerbo reminded her not to be too close to this one when it exploded.
Edric and Emira snuck up on Luz at the table and informed them their parents did in fact enroll them in the same boarding school come the fall, and while Luz loved Amity’s twin siblings, the devious grin on her face did make her a bit nervous.
Right after dinner, Luz made a point to go find Eda and King, who were in their usual spot at the arena.
“Kid!” Eda said as she approached. “That was some great swordplay today.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t win, I know Lilith is probably giving you a hard time…” Luz said immediately, but Eda just held up a hand.
“Gross, sympathy. You’ve accomplished more than most first-timers this summer, and you’ve… made me proud.” There was a crooked smile on her face as Luz looked up at her, and she realized that Eda really was going to miss training with her. “Don’t be slacking while you’re gone. Keep your skills sharp. Stay out of the bad trouble, but in the good trouble. Don’t die. Oh, and if you’re getting chased by another empousai and need a quick getaway, there’s a great alley on sixty-second street-”
Luz rushed in, pulling Eda into a tight hug. While Eda huffed out a little groan at Luz’s overwhelming need to be touchy, Luz felt a rush of affection as the daughter of Zeus leaned into it anyway.
“Thanks, Eda,” Luz muttered into her shoulder.
A hand came up to pat into her hair. “No problem, kid. If Lili and I are ever heading to Mount Olympus, I’ll make sure we stop by that fancy new school of yours and say hello.”
“You better.”
"Can I come too?" King called out from at their feet, and Luz bent down to pick up the tiny hellhound scratching behind his ears.
"Yeah, can he?" Luz pleaded, and Eda rolled her eyes.
"Gods, you two are just the cutest things ever. Fine, whatever, the next time I go to Olympus I'll let him tag along."
After a chorus of excited cheering from Luz and King, it was time for the last campfire of the year. Luz finally got the true Camp Half-Blood experience. As Eda was leading the campers in a final last hurrah of songs and games, she walked over to Luz and reached out, handing her a leather necklace.
“As you all know, per tradition, every year we give our campers a bead to celebrate another year at camp. This year, the Hermes cabin designed the beads, and there is someone very special they wanted to honor.”
Luz blinked at it, taking it gingerly, and as she did Viney stood up, the twisted smile on her face visible through the crackling orange, magical, campfire.
“Luz, not only are you our newest sibling, but you helped lead a quest that not only saved Camp Half-Blood but all of Olympus. So with permission from the councilors from all the cabins, we dedicate this year’s bead to you and your quest!”
There was a whooping of applause as the beads were passed out, and when Luz took a look at it her heart clenched, affection and gratitude washing over her in a whirl.
It was a beautiful deep purple bead with a very familiar-looking sword and shield, and as she turned it in the light of the campfire, the glint of the light made it glow a beautiful magical bronze.
“So, did we nail it?” Viney asked as Luz was left speechless. Willow and Gus were grinning over at her with knowing smiles. Next to her, Amity squeezed her hand, looking just as emotional as Luz felt.
Luz leaned over and threw herself into the embrace of her half-sister, and the campfire erupted into more whoops and cheers. And yeah, Luz might have teared up a bit as she sat back down next to her friends, but if anybody noticed they didn’t comment on it.
That morning as she packed up what few belongings she actually had, electing to leave a majority of the items she’d bought for next summer, she was digging through her backpack when her fingers touched something soft. She pulled out a stiff, slick, feather, and immediately broke into a smile. Carefully sliding it across the leather to dangle right next to her bead, she clipped the necklace on and slung her backpack over her shoulder. Saying one final goodbye to the Hermes cabin, she walked out the door to go meet Willow and Gus in the strawberry fields.
When she got there, she couldn’t help but grin. Around the growing collection of beads on their necklaces, five and four respectively, a single matching feather was dangling from the middle. While none of them said anything about it at first, Luz watched as both Willow and Gus glanced down, their eyes softening with affection.
“Well?” Willow asked as she reached them, gesturing towards the now distant Camp Half-Blood. “Give us the verdict. What did you think of your first year at camp?”
“I…” Luz didn’t even know what to say. Sure, there had been the lows. The hungry belly as she traveled across the Midwest, the sword slashes, the monsters, the horrible villain who’d threatened to destroy the world. But right now as Luz looked between her friends and her new home, she felt nothing but love for her new life. The mischievous half-siblings, the rivals between the cabins, the eccentric camp directing duo that was the daughters of Zeus, Gus, Willow, Amity…
Luz couldn’t ever recall a time in her entire life that she’d felt so full.
“All I can think right now is that I don’t want it to end,” Luz finally said, and Willow and Gus stepped forward to pull her into a group hug.
“It won’t end, at least, not really,” Gus promised, his voice muffled as he was shoved into Luz’s bicep.
“Yeah, it’s just a short break,” Willow nodded, leaning her head against Luz’s shoulder and wrapping her other arm around Gus. “And in two weeks, we’ll all be together again on a new adventure.”
Luz laughed, “yeah, because the life of a half-blood is never really quiet, is it?”
“Well, that’s half the fun of it,” Amity said from behind her, and when Luz turned her head she saw her girlfriend walking through the field to join them. Her own backpack was swung over her shoulder, and she had a genuine, at peace, smile on her face.
“Spoken like a true Blight,” Willow chuckled from next to Luz, and Amity laughed.
“Well, maybe I’ll get lucky and this year away from my parents will shake some of that out of me.”
“You’re sure you’re mom and dad are okay with you staying at my Mami’s for two weeks?” Luz asked for what felt like the sixth time that week, and Amity shrugged her shoulders.
“I’m back to being their number one, despite all the… drama, that happened the last time we saw them. Edric and Emira will pack my things for school for me. Honestly… it’s kind of nice not going back to Colorado.”
After getting a first-hand glimpse into how uptight and uncomfortable the Blight Manor was, Luz couldn’t help but agree.
“Don’t have too much fun you two,” Willow teased, and Amity flushed over the sound of Gus’ laugher while Luz bumped her with her shoulder.
Whatever retort Luz would have come up with died in her throat as she looked down towards the pine tree. There, a few parents were already waiting at the border, with some campers joining them and saying hello. Among the waiting ones, Luz saw a man almost identical to Gus, and two other men standing together with their hands interlinked.
“We better not keep them waiting,” Gus said slowly, but he looked back up at Luz with a frown. Willow was standing there as well, and for just another moment Luz felt that same rush of love.
“No, you shouldn’t. Amity and I will meet you at grand central in two weeks, okay?”
“Two weeks,” Willow affirmed, and Luz pulled the four of them into one last group hug before Willow and Gus grabbed their things and went to go join their parents at the pine tree.
It wasn’t a real goodbye, nowhere near it. But Luz couldn’t help but feel her throat close up at the sight of them reuniting with their parents. Gus’ dad scooped him up into the biggest hug, and one of Willow’s dads immediately took her backpack while the other one kissed her cheek.
She felt Amity’s warm hand close around hers, and when she looked back, the daughter of Aphrodite was smiling softly.
“It’s going to be okay.”
“I know,” Luz said, and she meant it. She squeezed her own hand around Amity’s, taking a moment to really let the gratitude she had for this camp, for these people, sink in.
It wasn’t long until she saw another familiar person join the other parents near the pine tree. Luz perked up immediately at the sight of her Mami, still dressed in her scrubs. She’d probably gotten off of a shift at the hospital and rushed all the way down to Long Island just to meet her and was looking around anxiously at the other gathering parents and campers.
“Is that her?” Amity sounded nervous, and when she looked over, she was reaching up with her other hand to self-consciously adjust her mint green hair.
“She’s going to love you,” Luz promised, giving her a reassuring kiss on the cheek. “She’s been talking about how excited she’s been to meet you for like, three weeks.”
“That… somehow makes me even more nervous,” Amity breathed out. Luz chuckled, adjusting the straps of her backpack over her shoulder as her Mami finally looked up and noticed them. She beamed so widely Luz could see it from all the way up in the strawberry hills, waving towards them.
“Well, then let’s do this together.”
Amity looked back at her one more time, taking a deep breath. “Alright. Together.”
And as they walked through the fields hand in hand, slowly getting farther and farther away from camp, Luz felt her anxieties about the coming months slowly begin to fade. That was part of the magic of Camp Half-Blood. The place wasn’t just a training ground for young demigods. It was a safe haven. A family. A place that, even miles and miles away from it, you always knew it would have your back. It would be there for you, whenever you wanted to return. So leaving it didn’t feel like a goodbye, not really.
Instead, it was the promise of another new beginning as a child of the gods.

Problematic

Chapter 1:
There was this persistent buzzing at the back of Izuku’s mind. It cut through the fog slowly at first. Starting off as a low hum before it got louder. Now it was all but screaming in his ears. One bloodshot eye cracked open, revealing pale green before it quickly closed. Like an idiot, he had fallen asleep with his lights on again, but at least he made it to his bed this time.
Usually, when he pulled all-nighters all bets were off. Where he dropped, is where he slept. Would he regret it the next day? Absolutely. It had taken days before he was able to walk without his shoulder hunched up around his ears. One time it was so bad, he had to see a chiropractor. Working during that time had been difficult.
There was this lull of silence suddenly and Izuku briefly wondered if that was the last of it. But unfortunately for him. It only started up again. This time in rapid pulses.
His groan started off softly before it rose in pitch and ended in a frustrated scream. “Fuck alright alright!”
When Izuku rolled and planted his feet on the floor, he ignored the fact that he had only one shoe on, right now he was more focused on trying to get that god-awful noise to stop. Pushing himself from his bed, he cracked open only one eye, keeping the other closed tightly. Using one hand, he cupped it over his brow, blocking out the fluorescent bulbs shining overhead.
Stumbling from his bed, he navigated his way towards the noise. The closer he got the more unbearable the buzzing became. With only having on one shoe it made his trek across his apartment extremely awkward and uncoordinated. If he wasn’t tripping over articles of clothes or stacks of books he was doing it over his own feet. But the moment the damn buzzing intercom came into view. He gladly slapped his hand down on the call button.
“Who is it?!” So what if he sounded rude. It felt like he had only just hit his first period of rem sleep. So he really hadn’t been out that long. And he needed his beauty rest for the shit he was about to put his body through later that day.
“Took you long enough....” a low voice suddenly cut through his speaker.
He wasn’t expecting anyone until much, much later in the day. ‘Shit what time was it?’
He pulled his finger from the call button and quickly pressed the one that unlocked the building's door. He held it for about 5 seconds before letting it go. With the same hand, he unbolted his front door and walked back towards his bedroom. He knew his ‘guest’ would let themselves in.  And he refused to greet them as he was. Izuku wasn’t in the mood to be fussed over.
Reaching his bedroom, he made a beeline towards his bathroom and slammed the door behind him. He didn’t open it until his bladder was empty, his face was freshly washed, his mouth tasted like cinnamon toothpaste and his godforsaken shoe was removed from his foot. The only thing he couldn’t do was fix his rumpled clothes. His closet was on the opposite side of his bed. Plus there was really no need as he was already caught sleeping.
Twisting the knob, Izuku pulled open his door and was greeted by a man with two-toned choppy hair making himself entirely too comfortable on his king-size bed. Pale green eyes took in the man’s attire or lack thereof. Matte leather pants that stuck to the man’s legs like a second skin and a ridiculous shiny sheer sweater that was several sizes too small. Stepping over the threshold Izuku arched a brow at his friend.’
Heterochromia eyes glanced up at Izuku from an equally ridiculous bedazzled phone, before glancing back down. “Got a problem Midoriya?”
Izuku met Shouto in college. The two of them became quick friends after being paired up as lab partners and soon became a bit more later on. He and Shouto did have a bit of a relationship at first, but that sort of fizzled out when the two of them realized that the feelings they had for one another was strictly platonic.
“It just looks like you got that shirt from the kid's section Sho.”
Shouto snorted and started clicking away on his phone. His black acrylic nails tapping away at the screen. While staring at his friend's phone Izuku briefly wondered where he left his own. He remembered having it in his office, but he could have sworn he had the thing next to him in the bed.  “Hurry up we’re already late”
“Fuck I knew it...What time is it?” Shouto stopped tapping away on his phone and glanced over at Izuku delivering a flat look. “It’s 10:16 pm.”
Okay so maybe that wasn’t the first rem cycle he hit. The last time he had looked at the clock had been around 4 that morning. “I must have slept through my alarm.”
He heard Shouto shifting on his bed and Izuku could feel the man’s judgmental gaze without even looking. “I’ve been calling you for the last 30 minutes and when that didn’t work I started using your call button. ”
Izuku wenched and cast Shouto an apologetic smile. Maybe he shouldn’t have pulled back to back all-nighters when he had somewhere important to be. But he had really gotten in the zone with work. Shouto’s heterochromia eyes rolled and a thin manicured hand shooed Izuku off to the bathroom.
“Pick an outfit for me?” Shouto nodded but didn’t make a move off the bed. If he had gotten up with his alarm, Izuku would have had plenty of time to pick out an outfit himself. Stopping by his dresser, he pulled out a pair of navy boxer briefs then made his way to the bathroom. He didn’t bother closing the door. It wouldn’t be the first time Shouto has seen him naked.
It had only taken Izuku maybe a total of 9 minutes to shower and then about another 5 minutes for him to fully dry off and roll his stick deodorant under his arms. He wasn’t too worried about what Shouto would pick for an outfit as Izuku knew exactly what he had available in his closet. No matter how many times Shouto tried to get him into something flashier Izuku always refused. Besides in his line of work, it was better to blend in than stand out.
When he had emerged from the bathroom for the second time that evening, Izuku almost assumed that Shouto hadn’t moved from his spot on the bed. But a pile of clothes stacked neatly on his now made bed told another store. A teasing smile pulled lightly at Izuku’s full lips “Did you tidy up?”
“Shut up and get dressed.”
Izuku laughed but did as he was told. Shouto had chosen something that wasn’t too far off of what he would have picked for himself. A pair of black high-waisted slacks with a matching black mid collar neck t-shirt.
“Tuck your shirt in…” Izuku complied once again with Shouto’s request and made his way back into the bathroom. Using the mirror he made sure the shirt was tucked evenly. Staring at his reflection, Izuku rubbed a hand over his head, his short buzzed hair still damp from the shower. He could feel how some of his curls were starting to form again, and he made a mental note to set an appointment with his barber. He hated having to deal with his natural curls; they were a serious pain in his ass. After playing with his hair for a few more second’s Izuku decided that a beanie was going to be his best friend for the evening.
After he slipped on some no-shows, he shoved his feet into a pair of laced black ankle boots he found placed by the edge of the bed. “Did you find my phone?”
Shouto shook his head as stood up from bed  “No but the car is 3 minutes away.”
Izuku nodded and walked over to his nightstand to grab his keys, wallet, and beanie. He stepped into his bathroom one last time and slipped the black cotton beanie over his head. Checking his reflection one last time, Izuku turned off the bathroom light and exited his bedroom. Shouto wasn’t far behind him and Izuku trusted that Shouto would turn off the light.
He heard the soft clicking of Shouto’s dress shoes along his concrete floors as he followed Izuku, but not before switching off his bedroom light. Just like Izuku knew he would. With his body blocking Shouto’s view Izuku quickly punched in the number combination on the keypad lock of his office door. It wasn’t like Shouto didn’t already know the combination. It was just a habit Izuku never planned on breaking.
A soft beeping noise reached his ear and Izuku turned the knob. When he pushed the sealed door open, a familiar smell of rotten eggs hit his nose and from the hitch of breath behind him. Izuku knew Shouto smelt it as well. He should probably turn on the air filter again before he leaves.
His bedroom might have been a mess. But Izuku always made sure to keep his office spotless. Everything was put away in its rightful place, clean and organized. It had to be, cooking was always an extremely delicate process.
Izuku spotted his phone placed alongside the double stainless steel sink he had installed when he first moved in. Making his way across the room, he left Shouto by the door. Letting his friend take in the sight of the two 5ft tall racks full of trays filled with what looked like shards of broken glass.
“Isn’t the next pick-up 2 days away?”
Izuku kept his eyes on his phone and started scrolling through his missed notifications. He had a few missed calls from several of his friends. Including text messages asking when he was going to show up.
“Yeah..but I fully expect to be nursing a massive hangover tomorrow”
Shouto’s laughter echoes down the hallway as he makes his way to the front door. Izuku exits and firmly shuts his office door behind him. As soon as the door resealed Izuku heard the padlock let off a soft beep. Coincidentally Shouto’s phone went off as well.
“Cars here.”
“Right behind you..” as the two of them exited his condo, Izuku made sure to flip on the air filter and activated the security system. He wouldn’t activate the cameras until he and Shouto cleared the building. It sounded like overkill, but when you had about 70,000 dollars in methamphetamine laying around you could never be too careful.
“BakuBROOO!” Crimson eyes shifted to the right and away from the sea of body gyrating on the dance floor to a man dressed in a pair of dark wash jeans and a tank top. He was slowly making his way through the crowd to him. Glancing over the man, Katsuki took note that he had stopped over at the bar before coming to the table as he was clutching two glasses of beer in his hands.  As his friend made his way to the table Katsuki glanced down at his own drink.  Whiskey neat, he liked the way the warm liquor burned down his throat. Made his fingers feel all tingly.  “The fuck you do to your hair? It looks even more shitty than it did before.”
He swears his friend goes through an outrageous amount of hair gel.  “Mina thinks it's hot! That's all that matters!” Katsuki scoffed and rolled his eyes back to Eijirou. Yeah Mina, funny enough she actually hit on Katsuki the first time the three of them hung out together. But she soon set her eyes on Eijirou after she found out that she wasn’t exactly Katsuki’s type.
Which Katsuki was thankful for, Eijirou couldn’t take his eyes off Mina. Katsuki was just happy his friend finally met someone. He had seen the guy date around but nobody really stuck around for too long. Sadly not a lot of people were cool with how close he and Eijirou were. People always assumed they were either dating, messing around, or fucking. Katsuki seriously couldn’t understand why people think it’s impossible for a straight man and a gay man to be best friends.
For fucks sake Eijirou was just a guy he met back in his freshman year of high school. A couple of upperclassmen tried to bully him because they found out that he was gay. Eijirou just so happened to be walking by at that exact moment and decided to step in to help.  Even though Katsuki had been able to take care of himself. Eijirou had been the one to pull Katsuki off one of the guys and never left his side after that. No matter how many times Katsuki tried to ditch him. After a while, they were inseparable.
“It still amazes me that she even agreed to marry your ass.”
“It was my manly charm!”  Eijirou threw Katsuki a smile, but the blonde ignored it and took another sip of his drink.
“Yeah, sure pal…where the fuck is Mina?”
Katsuki peeked back over at Eijirou over his glass. And caught his friend throwing him a playful wink. “Bathroom.”
A grin broke out on Katsuki’s face and he placed his glass down on the table. His full attention now on the redhead. “ Really now?”
Eijirou returned Katsuki’s grin and leaned into his friend's space. Their foreheads a few inches apart and whispered “Chargebolt came through.”
Fucking Chargebolt was a stupid punk ass flaky dealer. Katsuki absolutely despised going to him, but the dunce face always had the best coke. “ No fucking way...how?”
Eijirou tilted his head and nodded his head towards somewhere behind Katsuki. Which had the blonde turning to see what he was talking about. Katsuki saw a group of people sitting in one of the VIP booths surrounded by balloons. “ You know his girlfriend, Kyouka?”
Katsuki frowned a bit in thought. Honestly, he was hella bad at names and faces. “ Kyouka?”
Eijirou gave Katsuki a look. “Dude, Kyouka! You know DJ Earphone Jack?! Come on, we went to her set last month.”
Okay, so that sparked a memory. Their buddy Hanta had been in town for the weekend and the man had brought along a few gifts. “I took 7 hits of acid that night dumbass...or did you forget?”
Eijirou’s bark of laughter almost made Katsuki jump. Almost. Even with the music, his friend was stupid loud “Shit yeah, I forgot about that! But yeah, it’s a friend of Kyouka’s birthday tonight so….”
Katsuki picks up his glass and turns it up. Draining the rest of its contents. “Lucky us.”
After Izuku exited the vehicle he was able to take in the side of town they were really on. On the drive over he had an inkling on where they were going, but he didn’t exactly recognize the name of the club. Now he knew why his friend chose to omit that little detail.
“A gay bar? But Tsu is straight...isn’t she?” Izuku turned to look at Shouto watching his friend apply on a layer of lip gloss. “Straight people go to gay bars all the time Zuku…”
Izuku sighed and placed his hand on top of his head adjusting his beanie. He knew Shouto was right, straight people go to gay bars all the time. It was just he himself never had the chance to go to one. He has been to plenty of bars and nightclubs, but he never ventured over to the warehouse district. It was a bit out of his way really. About a 25 minute drive to the other side of town. “Yeah I know...it just...well..”
Shouto recapped his lip gloss and stowed it back into his clutch. Reaching down with his free hand he grabbed Izuku’s wrist and began pulling the shorter man to the line forming just outside of the entrance. “You’ll be fine, let's just get inside so O can stop blowing up my phone.”
It didn’t take them long to reach the doors. After flashing the security their ID’s they both found themself enveloped in an electric atmosphere. It really wasn’t all that different from places he’d been before, the only thing that was different was the demographic.
“Come on O and Tsu got bottle service at the booth.”  Shouto reached for Izuku’s hand this time and the man pulled him along, navigating them through the crowd. It was obvious to him then that Shouto had been there before so he let the man take the lead. As he did so Izuku took his time to take in the sights. Really it wasn’t all that different from other places. Except for the people dancing in cages. That was something he hadn’t really seen before.
“About time you two got here!”
Izuku turned his attention away from the cages and to a woman wearing a light pink body con dress. Shouto had since dropped his hand and was now trapped in the arms of Ochako.  He and Shouto had met the woman through her husband and his long-time business associate Tenya when they first got into the business. If he was the manufacturer then Tenya was the distributor. Glancing around Izuku made eye contact with a man dressed like he had just come from the country club man and nodded his head in a greeting, but he was soon trapped in Ochako’s arms just like Shouto had been.
“Did you pull another all-nighter?!”
Izuku lightly patted his friend's back as he laughed softly. “You know me O.”
She pulled away but kept her hands on Izuku’s shoulders to give them a soft squeeze. “Did you at least eat?!”
Pale green eyes glanced away from Ochako’s light brown and all but begged Shouto for help. However, his friend was conveniently busy making himself a drink,  but Izuku still saw the knowing smile from where he stood. ‘Traitor.’
“Umm..you see Shouto woke me up actually when he picked me up so...I didn’t really have time?” Ochako narrowed her eyes and Izuku couldn’t help but lean away from the petite woman in fear.
“Zuzu! What's up my dude!” the gods must have taken pity on Izuku because suddenly a solid weight collided with his side. Knocking him out of Ochako’s hold.
“Hey Denki.” He threw his spunky friend a grateful smile. Which had the man wiggling his eyebrows. Denki Kaminari is another work associate of his, he actually met the blonde-haired man through Tenya about a year ago. Denki was one of his runners.
“Where’s Kyouka?”  Out of the corner of his eye, Izuku spotted Tenya calling his wife back over to his side. He loved how much Ochako looked out for him, he was a mess and sometimes he needed it, but the woman didn’t really know when and where it was a good time to go in on him. Like now, getting scolded in the middle of a club was a perfect example of when not to do it.
“Her and Tsu went to the bathroom.”
Izuku grinned and shook his head. “Always the opportunist. “
Denki removed his arm from Izuku’s shoulder and stepped back from his friend, throwing his arms above his head in glee. “I’m like the ice cream man dude!”
Mina had since joined back up with the guys. Making her presence known by clinging to Katsuki’s back. Her arms wrapping around his midsection. “Suki bear!”
Katsuki’s eyebrow began to twitch and Eijirou took that as his cue to step in. “Where’s my greeting baby?”
Honey brown eyes peeked from behind Katsuki, her pink box braids swinging over her shoulder as she did so. “I just saw you 10 minutes ago...I haven’t seen Suki since yesterday.”
Mina was always a handsy person, but put coke up her nose she was even more so. It really didn’t bother Katsuki. He could be a little clingy himself, it was just those awful nicknames she came up with. ‘ What the fuck is Suki bear’
Reaching down to her hands Katsuki dislodged the dark-skinned woman’s hold and handed her over to the pouting redhead. “Go say hi to your fiance before he ruins his eyeliner.”
Mina giggled as she slid closer to Eijirou. Katsuki watched as she grabbed hold of his friend’s face and sandwiched his cheeks. Then proceeded to pepper his face with kisses. The display of affection had Katsuki rolling his eyes and looking down at his empty glass regretfully.
“I’m gonna head to the bar.”
His statement had the lip-locked couple breaking apart, well it was more like Mina broke the kiss. Eijirou desperately tried to follow, but she pushed his face away and gave Katsuki her attention. “Actually Tsu invited us over to her party!”
That seemed to get the redhead's attention. “Who’s Tsu?”
Mina beamed at her fiance and then with one hand pointed over behind Katsuki. “Kyouka’s friend. It’s her birthday and she’s got bottle service in VIP.”
Katsuki and Eijirou both looked back over at the VIP section. A woman wearing a short yellow t-shirt dress with a foil sash was waving her hands excitedly in their direction and gesturing for them to join her group.
Katsuki turned back to his friends, his eyes wide. “ You had me at bottle service.”
Izuku glanced up from his drink as a woman wearing leather pants and a white crop top stepped into their section. He would have gotten up to greet the woman but he was stuck in the booth between Shouto and Denki. He did offer her a friendly wave though. “Hey Kyouka!”
Kyouka, Denki’s girlfriend. Izuku had gone to a few of her sets before. The woman was talented. “Hey Zu.”
Izuku looked behind her and saw Tsuyu waving her arms and gesturing for someone to come over. He looked into the crowd and tried to pinpoint exactly who it was, but he really didn’t see any familiar faces. He did see a woman with pink braids waving back at a table with two other men though. He saw how she and the redheaded man clung to either other and Izuku wondered how much hair gel the man actually used, he tried to see the blonde man but his back was turned to him. However, Izuku wasn’t complaining. ‘Blondey has a hell of an ass’
Denki had gotten up and started making Kyouka a drink, which let Izuku get up to properly greet the birthday girl. Leaving his glass on the table, he snuck up behind Tsuyu and threw his arms around the short woman’s shoulders, and hugged her tight. “Happy birthday Tsu!”
The woman turned around in Izuku's hold and gave him a proper hug. “Aww thank you Izuku!”
Tsuyu was actually Tenya’s cousin and he met her years ago when Ochako and Tenya got married.
Pulling from the short girl Izuku placed a small kiss on her forehead, which had Tsuyu smiling brightly up at him. When she looked at him Izuku could see how wide her pupils were. “Celebrating hard I see.”
Tsuyu nodded her head, her smile never leaving her lips. “It is my birthday after all!”
Izuku returned her smile but lightly reached up to tap against her nose. “Just take it easy birthday girl.”
Tsuyu pulled away from Izuku’s hold and gave him a mock salute. “Aye aye captain.”
“Hey, thanks for the invite, Tsu!”
Izuku and Tsuyu turned their attention to the trio he had seen earlier. It was the woman with pink hair who spoke up first. She had fingers interlocked with the redheads and the blonde. ‘Throuple?’
“Mina! Of course! So which one is the fiance you were telling me about?”
Tsuya looked back and forth between the blonde and redhead, but the redhead saved her the trouble and spoke up, even dropping his hold from Mina’s to shake Tsuyu’s hand. “That would be me, the names Eijirou.” Tsuyu and Eijirou shook hands and she turned to the blonde and before he offered her his hand as well to shake Izuku noted how he handed off the beer to Mina. “I’m Katsuki and please let me buy you a birthday shot.”
Tsuyu grinned and nodded happily to Katsuki “Only if you take one with me.”
Katsuki grinned right back at the short woman and Izuku suddenly wished he was in Tsuyu’s place. Katsuki was beyond attractive, he was just a little taller than Izuku, built,  and had eyes like the color of red phosphorus.
Izuku felt a presence next to him and glanced to see Denki. “I better get a wedding invitation Eijirou!”
Izuku watched as the two shared some odd secret handshake that had both Mina and Tsuyu laughing. Katsuki just rolled his eyes and sidestepped the duo. ‘Okay so maybe not a throuple’
“Hey, I’m Katsuki.” Pale green suddenly met red phosphorus. Reaching out he offered the man his hand. Katsuki’s grip was strong and very warm when compared to Izuku’s cold ones.
“Izuku.”
When Mina had grabbed their hands to drag them over he made sure to grab the woman’s beer. While Ejiro grabbed his own. She chatted a bit to them about this woman Tsuyu but Katsuki was too busy looking over at the man who had the birthday girl in a hug. From the way they had been talking he had briefly wondered if they were a couple.
When they got closer, however, Katsuki hoped they weren’t. The man was downright beautiful. He had a skin color that reminded Katsuki of those caramel macchiatos that he was addicted to. But he had the feeling that Izuku tasted sweeter. ‘Are those freckles?’
Katsuki had finished shaking Tsuyu’s hand when a familiar blonde man walked up next to Izuku. ‘Fucking Chargebolt.’
Again he didn’t mind the guy, just he got fucking annoying real quick. Eijirou and Denki did some sort of weird handshake and Katsuki took this as his chance to introduce himself.
“Hey, I’m Katsuki.”  When the man shifted his gaze to Katsuki, he almost choked. The man had the prettiest green eyes Katsuki had ever seen. The club lights made them shine bright like emeralds.
“Izuku” his hand fit perfectly in Katsuki’s and he didn’t bother resisting the urge he had to look the Izuku up and down.
When he met that emerald gaze again Katsuki caught Izuku smirking at him. Which Katsuk equally returned. “Nice to meet you Izuku.”
Dropping his hand Izuku gestured back to the ice buckets along the table.
“ Let me get you a drink Katsuki…”

No Coincidence
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you got closer and closer to the semi-finals of Show Me The Money your fanbase grew. Not only were you gaining credibility as a rapper but also great friends and future business partners. Since you were basically an unknown underground rapper the biggest question on everyone’s mind was who you would end up signing with.
You were always sending love to Yoon Mirae making people think you wanted in with Feel Ghood. But then again you were in Zico & Dean’s team. “I swear I’m going to make my own company and sign you.”
You laughed, it was getting late and you were still caught up rehearsing. Coming up with your next performance for the show was proving to be difficult. Hangzoo had already gone home while you remained. “Give me a good contract Boss and I’ll sign.”
“Really?” Dean asked in shock. He too thought you were after Feel Ghood.
“Honestly,” your hand pressed against your chest. “I’m open to all offers but I do have a list.” You shot a wink at Zico, “I’ll add you to the list Boss.”
“I like being called Boss,” Zico sat taller feeling like he had just been crowned king. From now on you should just call me Boss.”
“Show me the money first,” you shot back causing the filming staff and Dean to break out in laughter.
\\\
Unfortunately, your next performance was your last.
You hugged Hangzoo and congratulated him for being the last member of the team. “You have to win this,” you encouraged while shedding a few stray tears. It was an emotional time, on one hand, you were sad to go but on the other, you had done your best and showed what you were made of.
Hangzoo nodded as held you. He really didn’t want to see you go while he stayed. Zico and Dean joined the hug and gave you words of encouragement that brought back your smile.
On all sides, the other producers and remaining finalists waited to also bid you farewell. You were the final female rapper, your leaving meant the stage would be all men again. They would be losing their witty queen who had a comeback for everything.
“We’re going to miss you Y/N,” Tiger JK gave you a final comforting pat on the back. He slid you a card making you gawk at both him and Bizzy.  “That’s my wife’s number.”
“Are you serious? I have Yoon Mirae’s number?” Finally, you had managed to get your favorite rapper to notice you. Everyone wanted to take a look but you quickly held it to your chest obstructing their view and jumping with joy.
That’s how filming ended for you... or so you thought.
As you walked out into the parking lot you ran into Jay Park. “Going home?” he asked rhetorically. He knew you used public transportation and wanted to offer you a ride. This just seemed like the proper thing to say first before doing so.
“Yeah,” you nodded.
“Even though you got eliminated today, you’re a winner and you should be sent home like one.”
You had to admit you blushed hard just in time for Dok2 to see it too. He came out almost out of nowhere like he was waiting for you somewhere in the shadows.
“What’s going on?” His question was directed at Jay who he thought had already left.
“Just some business.”
“Business?” you asked now realizing what this was about. You were being scouted by CEO Jay Park. “You want me in H1ghr?” That was the label he seemed to be recruiting for recently but he shook his head.
“AOMG.”
Your hands clasped over your mouth to muffle your loud gasp. Could it be true? Were you really being offered the chance to be the second female signed to AOMG? “Like with Hoody and Simon and Gray-”
Jay laughed, “yes to everything.”
“Shit-” you muttered to yourself. First, you got an invitation to Feel Ghood and now one to AOMG. Could things get any better?
Zico approached the three of you with an amused smile. He had expected this. You were truly talented, a diamond in the rough that people were desperate to get their hands on and help shape into something even more amazing. “Is everyone trying to take my talent?”
“Your talent?” Dok2 asked completely unaware of your little conversation with Zico the week before since the episode had yet to air. None of the other producers even knew Zico planned to open up his own company.
Zico nodded, “I am now officially CEO of KOZ Entertainment.”
No one was as taken back as you though. “Damn Boss, you really did it?” Because even if Zico had told you about it you didn’t expect him to really want you in his label. By no means was any of this expected.
Dok2 did not appreciate how close you had grown with Zico or how he towered over you as he showed you some pictures of his new office that was yet to be seen by anyone else. He, on the other hand, had to keep from conversing with you.
“Is Illionaire looking for their first female rapper?” Jay asked. Even though he was personal friends with Dok2 he didn’t know he was interested in you. When everyone else talked about you he seemed particularly quiet. He did, however, catch him staring a few times. “Were you eyeing her all this time?”
You nearly got whiplash from how quickly you turned to look at Dok2.
With all eyes on him, Dok2 had no choice but to say something. “Depends on Y/N.”
The weight of his words made it hard to breathe. “Woah, okay I think I might be dreaming.” For once you had no response to offer.
“If this were a dream I don’t think you would have lost...” Jay pointed out.
“True,” you straightened up and looked each one of them in the eye. All three CEOs were skilled and respected in the community. There was no wrong answer but a decision like this couldn’t be made on the spot. “I appreciate all of this but I need to think about it for a while.”
It was understandable, this was your future- the future of your career. “And as for the ride- I just don’t want to show favoritism to anyone so I’ll just go home the way I usually do.”
And just like any other day you walked down the street to catch the first bus that would take you to the subway station you frequented. All the while you thought of how you had ended your time on the show by crying. “God~” you whined pushing your forehead against the window making the person sitting beside you question your sanity. “Why did I have to go out like that-” your eyes widened as you saw the familiar Rolls-Royce Ghost of a certain CEO.
You scowled in its direction as you stepped out off the bus. After only a couple of steps, you heard your phone begging to be dug out of the small red leather crossbody bag you carried daily. You knew he was watching you through his heavily tinted windows. So you rebelled, you shook your head refusing to answer.
Dok2 gave up. He stepped out in his Gucci bomber and tugged on his beanie. “You know I don’t like being ignored.”
You sighed as people started to notice him and by default- you.  It was inevitable if he was around. “And I don’t like standing out in public.” Ironic- with your passion of performing and aspirations of breaking out of the underground scene into mainstream media. You turned him around hooking your arm with his and dragging him back to his car as quickly as possible- before anyone could act on the fact that you two were speaking to each other on the streets,
Not forgetting his decorum, Dok2 opened the door for you. “You sure about that?” The way you auditioned for Show Me The Money told him otherwise.
Your eyes followed him as he made his way around the front of the car and into the driver’s seat. “Why are you mad?” Weren’t you the one who was supposed to be mad? He was the one who suddenly showed up.
“I’m not mad.” Correction- he was annoyed, maybe even irritated.
“Well I am,” you crossed your arms over your chest. He was jeopardizing everything you had worked hard for. “Joonkyung all I wanted was to prove myself. I wanted people to see my talent.”
For the past two years that you and Joonkyung had been dating no one had managed to find out.  At first, it wasn’t intentionally meant to be a secret. It was just you two trying things out without putting pressure or having to explain anything to anybody. Now you were used to it. The two of you were becoming increasingly serious as your name was starting to gain some recognition.
That’s why you decided to audition for Show Me The Money- before anyone could pin your success on your relationship with Joonkyung. You intentionally kept your audition a secret from him, chose a different team, and kept your distance from him to avoid speculation.
“You proved yourself,” Joonkyung reached for your hand holding it up to his lips. “Baby you did good.”
His sincerity warmed your heart but you couldn’t smile. Instead, you leaned over the center console to place your forehead on his shoulder. “I lost Joonkyung~” your voice came out whinier than you intended but dammit you were sad. “All I wanted was to win so I could join Illionaire.”
Dok2 wrapped his arm around you as you began to cry. “If you wanted to join all you had to do was ask.”
“Ugh,” you pushed off of him with a groan. “You don’t get it. I don’t want you to just get me because I’m your girlfriend. I want to earn it.”
“You have earned it.” The whole reason he met you was because Hyoeun told him about you. He had seen you at one of your shows at a bar that was well known for its hip-hop performances. “I didn’t just run into you when we met.”
“What do you mean?” you asked intrigued by where this was going. The remaining 50% of your makeup that had managed to survive your tears at the filming was now gone. You dabbed at the edges of your eyes trying to regain composure.
After two years he was finally confessing how he had admired you from afar before chasing you. How he had intentionally booked Hyoeun and Hash Swan at an event you were performing at just so he could have a way to get close to you. “I liked your music, then I liked you too.”
“Babe-” you cut yourself off as you hid your face in his neck. You hugged him tightly, not wanting to let go or he’ll see how hard you were blushing.
Dok2 didn’t care, “So you can forget about the other offers now.” He pulled you over to his side making you sit on his lap. Space was tight as you tried to keep from pushing any buttons.
There was something strange in the way he said those words. It seemed like he was happy, relieved even. “Well, I have to at least talk to them. I didn’t even get to congratulate Jiho.”
“Jiho?” Dok2 tilted his head giving you a questioning look. He wondered when you started calling him by his name.
“Yeah, he’s my friend- very funny. One time he and Hyuk-”
“You’re friends with him too?”
You nodded, “the episode didn’t air yet but we went to the arcade together as a group.” The arcade was your all-time favorite place to go. When Zico and Dean took the team you were the most excited. “They’re all pretty cool.”
“Babe you can’t just tell your boyfriend how cool other guys are. Especially when I just saw you being with them for months while you ignored me.”
“I had to ignore you.”
“That’s not the point.”
“You can’t be jealous.”
“Why not?” Of course he was jealous. You were beautiful, talented, and potentially single to everyone else. He had to think about the possibility of someone trying to make a move on you.
“Because I’m already your girlfriend.” The thought of Joonkyung being jealous never even crossed your mind. "You're always so confident and sure of yourself. Do you honestly think I would leave you for Jiho or Jay?”
“I never said anything about Jay.”
You sheepishly smiled, ”Guess I was just thinking about him.” When you saw the flash of jealousy you confirmed he was indeed the jealous type when it came to you. Instead of holding it against him you put him at ease with a kiss. “Just kidding~”
-end-

Oh shit my dude I never see enough of this
- Lance puts on a bad boy front but really he just wants to stay home all day with his headphones listening to Arctic Monkeys
- He’d never actually hurt anyone unless they were hurting his friends or boyfriend
- The king of tagging
- Lance has a million ear piercings and an eyebrow piercing
- He would get a tattoo but his mom would have a heart attack
- He does eventually plan to get a half sleeve
- Keith, the poor bean
- He definately takes up after Shiro
- At top of his class, teachers pet, never gets into trouble, has colleges from across the country practically throwing scholarships at him
- When they first meet, Lance thinks Keith is stuck up and Keith just sees Lance as a delinquent
- que the cheesy “Keith is Lance’s tutor for some test” trope and they oddly just sort of click
- From that point on, Lance is determined to break Keith out of his small shell
- One time, when the two were supposed to be studying, Lance convinces Keith to go on the roof with him
- They end up stealing some of Shiro’s beer and star gazing all night, which turned into their first kiss
- Keith also becomes his impulse control
- “I’m gonna cover Iverson’s desk with sticky notes that just have dick puns” “Lance no you’ll get suspended” “only if I get caught” “Lance” “you deserved an A on that project babe!”
- This doesn’t stop Lance from getting into fights with people who bully Keith
- “They called called you gay” *Keith placing an ice pack over Lance’s eye* “I mean it’s true”
- Keith almost never swears so on the rare occasion he does, Lance clutches his chest and falls backwards in his chair
- One time Keith gets detention for actually swearing in front of a teacher so Lance did something worse to get detention for the next three days
- “can’t have you one upping me”
- Of course Lance showed him the secrets to detention, including introducing him to Pidge and Hunk
- Every once and a while when Keith does get detention, they’ll spend the hour making paper cranes because Keith is good at it and Lance wants to learn
- Lance also convinced Keith to get an ear piercing
- “yeah babe! Next up is a septum ring!” “fuck no”
- Keith panicked at first because he thought Shiro would think Lance was a bad influence after that and hid it with a beanie for like a week afterwards
- When Shiro does finally see it, his first responce is “about time you did something cool”
- “Shiro the worst thing you did in high school was turn in an assignment late”
- Keith still tutors Lance and makes sure he stays focused and Lance’s grades actually start improving
- The two also like to sneak out (well, Lance sneaks out, Shiro doesn’t care as long as Keith doesn’t end up dead) and go to some of Lance’s favorite bands
- The first time Keith meets Lance’s family, he expected them to be like Lance but they turn out to be completely different and homely
- “Your parents are super sweet” “yeah they love you, try to convince them to get me a motorcycle”
- speaking of which, when Lance finds out Keith has a motorcycle he flips his shit because “This is like the coolest thing about you!”
- Cue the two of them going on rides together, but only if Lance wears a helmet
- When they both turn eighteen, Lance somehow convinces Keith to get a tattoo with him
- Keith has to stop him from getting something stupid off of the wall
- Keith gets it somewhere he can easily hide under his clothes and Lance gets his on the base of his wrist so he can cover it with bracelets when he needs to
- Lance loves it when Keith tries on his clothes
- the first time he does, Lance dressed him in a graphic t, ripped jeans, and leather jacket
- “fuck yeah! Look at my thrasher boyfriend!” “What’s the point of all the holes in your jeans?”
- Keith ended up accidently taking Lance’s jacket home and wore to school the next day before giving it back to him
- Even though Keith would never wear the clothes to school, he secretly loves dressing in Lance’s wardrobe be a.) They smell like him and b.) It makes him feel badass
- whenever they go out to concerts, Keith will wear something of Lance’s
- “I can’t believe I managed to get you into MCR and Evenessence” “Are you saying you don’t like them?” “Of course I like them but now I can call you a stereotypical emo”
- the two blast TØP and P!ATD in the car
- The two are worried about staying in touch when they go to college because they both know Keith will end up somewhere big like Yale or Harvard and Lance will be lucky to make to a community college
- Keith is one of the only people who knows about how worried Lance secretly is about his future
- “I’m just my families fuck up. All my other siblings are doing something with their lives. What are my parents going to think if I can’t get into a college, Keith? They’re worried enough as it is. I’m just a disappointment”
- Cue Keith being really comforting and supportive and letting Lance know that he’ll love him no matter what and so will his family
- The more they hang out, the more Keith realizes that the teachers kind of treat Lance like shit?
- Any time he brings it up to Lance, he just shrugs it off because hey, he deserves it right?
- But Keith snaps one day when Lance keeps raising his hand but Iverson doesn’t call on him until he puts his hand down
- Lance goes up and tries to answer the problem anyway but of course he gets it wrong and Iverson just has the most smug smile and Keith can see Lance just staring at the ground in defeat and so he finally just stands up and calls him out
- “Of course he got it wrong, you didn’t call on him when he had his hand raised did you? You have it so ingrained into your head that Lance is nothing when he works his ass off just trying to stay afloat.” Lance tries to stop him but Keith is just so fed up with their bullshit. “Lance can do the work, you just need to let him try. So stop treating him like garbage. The only lowlife here is you.”
- Keith and Lance got suspended for it
- Shiro picked them up, ready to chew them out, but when he arrives and Lance explains what happened, he just smiled and drove them home
- Keith was still fuming the entire time
I honestly have way more but this post is already way too long. Maybe I’ll do a part two who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
