ZERO DAY RANT. 002 TW: SEE TO THE MOVIES CONTENTS BEFORE READING. I WILL BE DISCUSSING THE IMPORTANT BUT TRIGGERING ASPECTS OF THIS MOVIE.

Cal was metaphoric, poetic in his views and morality. And he didn't wanna live.

Andre was angry, lonely, and wanted nothing more than to die for what he wanted to prove.

They're so different, and yet they understand each other. They're problems both strayed from the same place, they felt an absence of purpose. So they created one for themselves, and they died for it man. They died by each other. It's obvious anyone wouldn't ever reason with what they were thinking or doing, because they killed these men and women. They killed people with lives, and even in the end revenge is still preserved. It's this act of revenge that spiked another.

Revenge in this movie, is just seen to be drawn out further in the end. Even after what they did. stuff rooted from it, these kids saw this act of burning their graves as rightful. But do they not understand this was the same delusion, same hate that created this cause? They are the same violence, with different extents. They do not see the cry that was in their ends, but who would when it was after a laugh. They are immoral, they are horrible. But they were never given a chance, they were the reason to each other that either saw to this plan at all. They are the Army of two. This movie's point is to prevent what they did. To prevent who can become what they have. You can't get help unless you seek it, and you can't let problems happen till they get to a dangerous point. If there's a problem, if there's an effect to someone's well being, you can never know if it's capable of something bigger. What it can lead to, and no one deserves to live life with the purpose to end it. No one is truly a monster, no one is the bad guy, no one is the good guy. We're all fucking humans. But if we feed into others ideation, if we're influenced by others ideation we can become horrible. We can become blind, and corrupted. Everything is conceptual, everything is a word and a thing to be thought about. We have so much in life that tears us, that makes us happy. Sometimes we don't understand our own emotions, or actions. So how could Cal and Andre? It took two people to tell each other it was reasonable, it was rightful. It took two suicidal, ill children disturbed in their own ways to give each other enough comfort to have the courage to kill themselves and others. It proves you can be hurt by the wrong crowd, but yet only understood by them. You want to be understood, you don't want to be alone. But sometimes those aspects don't make you realize what your doing shouldn't happen. Morality, its so fucking flexible if your part of the wrong crowd, or driven to a wrong point. But really it isn't morality that drives someone to murder, its desire, or hate. And hate can be in morality, it can make something feel right. You hate robbers, because what they do isn't right. Andre hated this school, because what it does to him isn't right. But how Andre handled dealing with it was horrible, it was clear he was in a mindset unhealthy, and being friends with Cal only enabled it. Andre only enabled Cal. Zero day isn't a slasher movie, it isn't a true crime. It sheds light on these problems, it makes you think. It makes you understand, to try to prevent. Because these people came from simple name calling. So hey, one. Don't call someone an idiot, communicate. We don't know if someone's mentally disturbed, and why even call someone an idiot in the first place? That isn't education, it's blatant harm. And if this 'idiot' is causing it themselves from words or action, its counterproductive. You're being a hypocrite. And it'll only be getting anger out of them which just causes either spite or ignorance so then you get nowhere. I mean, if there's ignorance either way, then sometimes it's better left to professional help. And two, it just tells you to seek this help yourself. No matter how horribly or subtly ill, it's better than starting from something capable of causing harm to yourself or others. Zero Day is just something fake, but real. In all honesty, like any other it's how you find something out of this movie, whether bad or good. It just feels like a test. It was never made to encourage, but prevent. But people are capable of either, and that in itself is the test. To see if you're capable of reasoning, and understanding what's really to blame. And simply, no one. Your story is dependent on your actions, on what you do to help yourself. And killing or suicide is never an option. Movies can be for hope, for reasoning and awareness. This movie is anything, but to be encouraging. It's meant to make you more thoughtful, to find points and reason from this and everything else. It wasn't made for shock culture, it's more than that. Additionally, Spartans-028 (Riz), 125 (Kai), and 134 (Vanak) do exist per 343's internal documentation, but as of yet have not appeared in the Prime timeline

therefore there are about 19 confirmed living Spartans, 24 confirmed dead, 7 possible dead, and 12 unknowns, for a total of 62 (or 65 counting the silvers), so there are at least 10-13 other Spartans we have not met, be they active, retired, washout, dead, or missing

ended up fasting 41h

i woke up feeling super weak so I knew that I had to get something sugary to reward myself for the fast and to give me a little bit of energy

I have a chocolate addiction so i ended up eating chocolate twice today, but i didnt go over my cal limit so im fine!! I'll try not to beat myself up for it i deserved a sweet treat after that fast

cal log

a package of mini reese peanut butter cups (it was soooo good i absolutely adore reeses mini): 220 cal

smoothie with almond milk and chia seeds: 80 cals

Popeye's candy sticks (i'm obsessed with them it's not funny): 60 cals

I had an orzo salad at work but there weren't any calories listed and all the salads on my fitness pal were ranging from 200 to 500 cals but I didn't have a huge portion so i'll assume its about 332 cals

2 Gerber arrowroot biscuits (first time purchase, I love them so much!! They taste like sable cookies and have few calories): 40 cals

Mini m&ms (wanted something sweet after work, i walked a bit today and felt like i deserved it but i will not be eating chocolate every day from now on): 150 cals

2 caramel chocolate rice cakes: 120 cals

Total: 1 002 cals

Burned: 398 cals (that's what my phone says but im pretty sure its less than that? But i played just dance a little it might've helped)

it had been some time since she had seen cal, something she regretted but... made sense. the galaxy was in chaos, even with the supposed end of the war-- and she was sure he had been busy, if her own schedule was one to compare. this didn’t stop the immediate smile that spread on her face at the sight of him and his small droid.

perhaps a little worse for wear, the two weren’t much different from their last meeting from outward appearances, though the feeling he carried with him--

she wouldn’t pry, it was his own choice to share or not.

a hand reached to fondly stroke the droid, eyes flicking to his, “i see you’ve kept him in good shape. i’m glad-- he certainly deserves it.”

- FLASHBACK -

the question isn’t unexpected, but it’s certainly unwanted. kuruk doesn’t want to have to explain himself. he doesn’t want to have another person judge him for not measuring up. for not being the knight he’s supposed to be by now. surely with all of their training, with the drills and the practice and every single moment of preparation, he should be able to handle this by now. right? surely he should be better than this.

he’s fully expecting cal to remind him of that. the man is the one who’s gone through so much to train him, to get him up to scratch. he got the job done, the mission was completed, but it should have been better. cleaner. and he shouldn’t be in this state.

“does it matter? i got the job done.” he grumbles softly, clasping his hands behind his back. it was unavoidable really. someone was bound to notice eventually. helmets might be worn at all times out there, but in here.. it’s not quite the same. logically... logically, he knows cal won’t punish kuruk for these injuries. the man is... the biggest support kuruk has here. but the knights are expected to hold a certain standard. and kuruk knows what usually comes when they don’t reach those. “i’ll need to have my helmet repaired, or replaced.” he adds, as if that’s going to explain what actually happened.

It had probably been a foolish idea in the first place to rent a room for the night, but it was a celebration, after all, they had done something worth being proud of, and they so rarely treated themself to anything frivolous. If there was one thing they enjoyed, though, it was solitude, and so a night spend alone in a luxurious hotel room after socializing enough to last them the rest of the year felt like an appropriate reward, if not a little pricey.

There was the fact of that game, though. They were expecting it, given the way so many people had been talking to them at the party anyway, so shocked that they had managed a promotion, yet alone had come to celebrate with everyone else. So it wasn’t so much a surprise that their spare key was mysteriously missing by the time they turned in for the night, and Salem had resigned themself to disappoint whoever drew their key from the cauldron, by telling them it had been nothing but a cruel prank.

They were sitting in the chair in the corner of the room, dressing gown on, a book in their lap, untouched tea quickly cooling beside them, just waiting for the door to creak open so that they could get the awkwardness over with and have peace for the night. When it finally happened, though, Salem found their heart racing, not entirely unpleasantly, as they realized who had drawn their key from the cauldron.

“Oh,” was all they managed as they saw Cal in their doorway.

When I started shipping them: When Sam told everyone she was his wife 😂

My thoughts: I did like them but after Sam married Tom I was pretty much over it. In the year before Sam died I generally didn’t like them together because I felt the writers weren’t doing their relationship justice and ruined the potential.

What makes me happy about them: The idea that they rushed into marriage like giddy children in love, and I like that Sam would have brought more adventure and excitement to Dylan’s routine.

What makes me sad about them: That the writers ruined them lol (and I guess more specifically that Dylan shut Sam out of his life for no reason)

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I’ve actually never read a Sam x Dylan fanfic 😜

Things I look for in fanfic: I would look for married fluff or a first date type of thing

My wishlist: I mean, for Sam not to die and for Dylan to actually be nice to her and maybe a love triangle with Jacob before living happily ever after

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I think I would have been okay with Sam and Jacob. Honestly, I think Dylan is a lone wolf who is better off alone sometimes haha

My happily ever after for them: Getting remarried somewhere quiet by themselves and living on Dylan’s boat and going on holidays all the time

How I feel about this character: Generally I liked Sam when she was first on the show because she was confident and powerful but she was absolutely destroyed by the writers so the year before she died she became really soulless and confusing and I couldn’t really feel anything for her 🤷‍♀️

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Just Dylan I think. I used to like her and Tom but looking back (and the fact they broke up) it looked like such a toxic relationship and a BIG NO to Iain.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Honestly, I don’t remember Sam having any friends haha so I guess just Iain

My unpopular opinion about this character: Don’t know if this is unpopular but I thinks she was a b*tch to Ruby the whole time

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: For her to be a doctor like SHE ACTUALLY IS QUALIFIED AS and not a paramedic urgh

Favorite friendship for this character: She has no friends 😂

My crossover ship: I think Sam and Kian from Holby would have been A+ together

CHARACTER STUDY.

𝑳𝑨𝒀𝑬𝑹 001 : 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑶𝑼𝑻𝑺𝑰𝑫𝑬.

NAME : cal kestis. EYE COLOUR : hazel, tends to shift depending in the sunlight but typically a mix of green and brown with some flecks of blue. HAIR STYLE / COLOUR : cal’s hair is an reddish ginger, almost like the colour of a flame. he usually keeps it short and unstyled, pushing his fringe back so it frames his face better. he’ll usually keep the back in an almost undercut. HEIGHT : 5′10. CLOTHING STYLE : usually quite simple and practical. plain shirts and pants in dark neutrals, a little bit of green or blue here and there. he likes to be comfy so he often wears henleys, sweaters, and other shirts with soft fabrics. always wearing boots without a fail. BEST PHYSICAL FEATURE : smile.

𝑳𝑨𝒀𝑬𝑹 002 : 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑰𝑫𝑬.

FEARS : being forgotten, abandonment, enclosed spaces, shutting down emotionally cause his psychometry has gone haywire, that one day when everything is all over he will be called back into war. GUILTY PLEASURE : playing instruments!! he started learning how to read and play music a little bit in the time he actually spent in the temple but quickly lost his touch when he started travelling with master tapal. he wants to learn again though, something about it is incredibly soothing for him. BIGGEST PET PEEVE : those who will not listen. especially if it’s due to being so self absorbed that one cannot see past themselves to consider how their actions will affect others. perhaps it’s because he has never been able to be selfish but cal cannot stand when people do not care for the many because what they will do will be of great benefit to them. AMBITIONS FOR THE FUTURE : closure. he hopes that one day he can wake up and not feel an incredible ache in the base of his stomach, to not walk around carrying his guilt over the deaths of the people that he loves at his hands.

𝑳𝑨𝒀𝑬𝑹 003 : 𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑼𝑮𝑯𝑻𝑺.

FIRST THOUGHTS WAKING UP : usually the first moments of being awake determine his mood for the rest of the day. if he had a particularly bad nightmare the night before, he’ll be thinking about that extensively with a sense of dread. if he didn’t, his first moments after waking up are usually spent mediating so he does his best to clear his mind. WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT MOST : if people would be proud of him. often he thinks back to tapal and prauf, occasionally the clone troopers, and wonder what they would say to him if they saw him now. he hopes that his actions will honor their lives. WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT BEFORE BED : he meditates again before bed to hopefully chase away any nightmares but usually he will just silently think about those that have been lost as a small memoriam. WHAT THEY THINK THEIR BEST QUALITY IS : he’s not really sure. some would say his bravery, some would say his compassion, but he can’t tell when he reflects back on himself.

𝑳𝑨𝒀𝑬𝑹 004 : 𝑾𝑯𝑨𝑻’𝑺 𝑩𝑬𝑻𝑻𝑬𝑹 ?
