CaliYork headcanons!!

New York likes to just have California sit on his lap, and then dig his head into their back. He does this so he doesn’t have to socialize, and Cal does all the talking for him

New York fell first

California fell harder

Florida set them up, so in return (whether it was for payback to embarrass him- looking at you, NY- or as a favor) they set Florida up with Loui

They go on double dates a lot, especially with Florida and Loui bc Florida lives with Cal, but they also go with Washington and Oregon

Cali goes by they/he/she pronouns and York found out by accident but accepted him nonetheless

Cal makes flower crowns and other sorts of crafts to show affection towards NY

NY gives physical affection a lot (will also beat up anyone who’s mean to Cal)

Cal is autistic and one time Texas found out and would not shut up about it and was making fun of her because.. well… he’s Texas. So NY caused a fight with him

Cal is on fire a lot during hot seasons so NY has to fill them in on stuff he misses in meetings

During the winter, when NY gets snow storms and can barely move because he’s freezing, Cal does the same for him

Ok so more headcanon time 

California either has a few or a complete colour sleeve of monarch butterfly tattoos. The Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove has been a place I have on my bucket list for years now. Butterflies will go migrate over there in February and November to escape the winter cold. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure he’s encourage people to plant milkweed in canon, but I could 100% be mistaken about that. I have a terrible memory. I think if he has a single one it would be somewhere on his right wrist or his upper shoulder on the same arm. I think he probably got them around the hippie movement so somewhere in the 70s, i’m pretty sure it’s very early. Since most butterfly places in California are located in SoCal I would say he’s the one that got the tattoo but honestly I could see any one of the California is doing it . I also had headcanon that they have a special interest in biology specifically marine biology, but they like it all.  also definitely go to volunteer at the Monterey bay aquarium that that is still I’m dead certain on. 

I think California(alongside a lot of other states) have a fair bit of ink. A way to permanently have those things on their immortal bodies. With that being said, I also I think Wisconsin also has a lot of tattoos but I do not think it’s for the same reason though. I think it’s because he got really drunk and did some stupid things, probably passed out in the chair and stuff. And the only thing I can say to that is ope!

Ok so I want to add something, now that is isn’t like just dawn. Cal has a lot more tattoos that just that, he just has to. Definitely a little bear and California poppy’s. I’m making a list about him and the other!]

So. Fire season, huh?

This is fanart for the fic When Fires Burn by ao3 user T_WolfXD. It’s currently my favorite fic and has possessed my brain. Especially when Cali catches fire because angst <3. I live in that state, I want to see him suffer. Im spinning this series and fic in my brain like a microwave.
