Jurdan Fluff Headcanons/ fic ideas I'm too lazy to write out
Too much fluff is about these idiots having babies even though they are literal teenagers, so here are some non-children or wump related moments I would love to read/write
if anyone wants to write these go ahead, just tag me (not because I want credit, but because I want to read it)
Cardan has the dress from the original coronation remade and Jude wears it to her coronation. She still takes his breath away in the new version of the dress, which she saves forever Maybe they used the scrap fabric to tie Cardan up in a different way
At some point they talk about Locke and Dain's coronation, She tells him, "Taryn may have left that coronation with her future husband, but I left it with my king"
Also Jude finally unpacks the "I loved him" and "Sometimes I believe you did" and Jude tells him how she's only ever loved Cardan, how Locke was fun, but she never wanted him the ways he wanted Cardan
Jude getting Cardan a wedding band, and Cardan taking off all of the other rings on his left hand at night except that one. Eventual discussion about how their marriage vows are bound to the crown, and an updated version that reflects their feelings
Taryn, Vivi, and Heather make Cardan a "How to care for a human" guide with a first aid kit, human medicine, information about Jude's favorite foods, and how to take care of Jude when she's sick or on her period, generally things a 19-year old faerie boy would not understand
Vivi regularly brings mortal wine to faerie so Jude can drink with Cardan without hallucinating , Drunk Jude is affectionate as hell, and Cardan is amused.
Jude and Cardan eventually outlaw ensorcelling humans, to the disdain of many of the Folk. They generally make Faerie much safer for humans. Maybe even find someone to get them cell service/electricity/phones
Cardan offers Taryn a similar geas to Jude's so she can't be glamoured or controlled, the condition being that she never impersonate Jude without his or Jude's consent
"You're Mine" "I'm Yours" because SJM has made that a requirement in love stories
Jude and Cardan go to the mortal world and someone comments on how they are too young to be married. Cardan starts to tense but Jude just shrugs and says, "I knew I couldn't be happy with anyone else, so what was the point in waiting?"
Taryn and Vivi make Jude tell them everything about her and Cardan getting together, but Cardan serves as the fact-checker since he can't lie, they both learn a lot about how the other felt
Jude tells Cardan about Valerian and Locke trying to kill her and what happened in the Undersea. Cardan is more angry than she's ever seen him.
Jude tracing the scars on Cardan's back, and telling her how she saw what Balekin did to him
Lots of Jude wearing Cardan's clothes and sitting in Cardan's lap in the comfort of their chambers, and lots of Cardan being caught off guard by vulnerable! Jude (seriously half of my fic ideas have her sitting in his lap idk why)
Jude getting a snake tattoo up her leg as a reminder of serpent days, the tattoo wraps around the same way Cardan's tail does.
Jude, Taryn, Vivi, and Oak talking about what to do about Madoc and Oriana, fun sibling times.
The Palace servants learning to make human dishes and things for their queen, Cardan being enchanted by chocolate chip cookies
Lots of them getting ready together, coordinating outfits, Cardan helping her with makeup, weaving flowers into her hair, etc

I like shiny things, but I’d marry you with paper rings
1,347 words
Jude Duarte x Cardan Greenbriar
Jude has a gift for Cardan, but she is also Jude 'I hate emotional vulnerability' Duarte, so... You know how that usually works. It's pretty much just a fluffy "Jude gives Cardan a wedding ring" fic. (technically set post tQoN in my mind, but there’s no spoilers past tWK so it could be set whenever)
More fluff that is pretending to be angst because I love the idea of Jude giving Cardan a ring and wrote this while listening to love songs written by Taylor Swift.
-----
It was late in the night—or early in the day, depending on whether you woke up during the late afternoon or at dawn—and the sky was brightening before Jude’s eyes. As she gazed out at the royal gardens her stomach was flipping despite the calm atmosphere. The flowing gardens were always full of life and tranquility no matter the season or the time of day, two things that were ironic to Jude when she thought about the death and chaos she caused in the very same place. But that wasn’t what she was pondering. In the cool air, she stressed over her future, fiddling with the ruby ring on her finger while a million thoughts flew through her mind. What if he doesn’t like it? What if he thinks it’s just a dumb human tradition? What if I’m going to make a fool of myself?
As the sun rose past the horizon, Jude knew she had to be decisive, it was now or never—even though it really wasn’t, because she could just give up and wait until tomorrow (except that was what she had been doing for the past week and a half)—and spun around on her heel, marching confidently back into the palace. She was determined, nothing would stop her now, not her own fears and definitely not anyone else.
She made her way towards her chambers, the ones she now shared with Cardan, hoping that he was still there, ideally still sitting on their bed reading, just as she had left him with some excuse of needing fresh air. She was already making scripts in her head—she would walk in, take the book from his hands, and declare she had something to talk about, it would be that easy. But if it were going to be that easy, why was doubt creeping in again, screaming at her that she was making herself too vulnerable.
She shook her head as she passed the guards at her chamber doors, lifting a hand to make a motion vaguely similar to a wave, before pushing her shoulders back, lifting her head high, and pushing through the doorway with as much confidence as she could muster. You can do this. It was a mantra repeating in her mind as she crossed the antechamber and opened the bedroom doors, closing her eyes momentarily and taking a deep breath before steeling herself for what she was going to do.
“Cardan! I have—” something for you. The words died on her tongue as she saw Cardan sitting on her side of the bed, a black box left haphazardly on the sheets next to him, a ring held between to fingers.
They were both slow to react, Jude out of shock and fear, Cardan because he was seemingly to focused on the band he held to realize his wife had even entered the room. After what felt like years to Jude, he turned to her, a look in his eyes that was familiar, but she couldn’t tell from what.
“Would you like to explain what this is?” His voice was clear and left no room for games, but Jude could hear slivers of confusion intertwined with the words.
She let herself freak out for a few seconds, before getting a shaky grasp on her emotions, trying to drive the fear and stress away. It’s going to be okay. It’s just a ring, it’s nothing. Except it was something, it was something important to Jude, but it had been a long time since she had voluntarily said something was important to her. She much preferred to leave it unsaid, to show that something—or, most recently, someone—was important through meaningful actions and other words. With Cardan it was whispered ‘I love you’s as she drifted off to sleep and cups of his favorite tea when he woke up, soft glances from across the room during meetings and light kisses when they were finally alone for the night. She let herself take one more deep breath, remembering that he was her husband and this wasn’t really that big of a deal.
“It’s a ring,” His eyes bore into hers, screaming I know that, stop being difficult! She continued, “It’s a ring, uh, a ring for you.”
He nodded once, something about his demeanor changing slightly. “It’s a ring. For me.”
Jude nodded, trying to force the words that had been playing in her head for the past month out of her mouth, but Cardan spoke before she could, “Then why was it hidden? And why now? There’s nothing to celebrate.”
Jude glanced at the ground quickly before looking back into Cardan’s eyes, “I just—It’s for you because you’re my husband and I know that sharing rings and whatever isn’t like a thing for faeries but it is for me and you gave me a ring when we got married which meant that you know that, even if it was technically mine to begin with, before you were an absolute asshole and stole it. So, I got you a ring, a dumb human ring, because you’re my husband and married people give each other rings, even if the idea of giving you a ring is dumb and intimidating.”
It all came out at once, in a much less eloquent fashion than she had intended, but Jude supposed she shouldn’t be picky about how it came out when at least it was finally out.
Cardan seemed to be in shock at Jude’s outburst, looking at the ring then her then the ring again.
“You got me a wedding ring?”
Jude nodded sharply. Cardan grinned.
“And then you hid it because you got scared?”
“I was not scared!” Jude shouted, “I never said I got scared!”
Cardan grinned wider, if that was even possible, standing up and walking towards where Jude stood by the door.
“Sure, not scared, just—what was it?” He pretended to think as he approached her, “Oh yes, you said it was intimidating to give me a ring.”
Jude glared, “This was supposed to be romantic, you know? Not you making fun of me for a poor choice of words.”
Cardan smiled, leaning in to kiss her brow, and mumbling something along the lines of “Sure, if that’s what you say.”
Jude tried to stay annoyed with him, but he was frustratingly good at using soft touches to unravel her, his breath making her shiver as it brushed along her jaw and neck.
“It’s just—Cardan, stop, I’m trying to talk.” He grinned, stepping back from where he was leaving a particularly dark bruise on the underside of her chin. “It’s just that I grew up seeing rings on my parents’ fingers and now I have a ring on my finger and I like it, a lot more than I thought, and a lot more than I’ll ever admit again. And I just wanted that for you, I wanted to give you something that you could have forever, to remind you that I loved you, even if I wasn’t there to say it.”
Something softened in his eyes, a genuine smile flashing across his face as he reached down to grab Jude’s hand.
“Jude, I promise you, I could never forget that you love me. And I don’t know what you’re worried about, I love it, I love you.”
Cardan smiled before making a show of slipping the ring onto his finger. Jude smiled back, hesitantly, before reaching forward to cup Cardan’s cheek and pull him in for a sweet kiss.
“So, how long were you hiding it before I found it? Days? Weeks? Maybe a month? Am I really that scary?” Cardan’s voice filled the room before he began laughing at Jude’s exasperated groan.
“Maybe I’ll take it back, then, if you’re going to make me wish I never married you.” She countered as Cardan crowded her, pulling her towards their bed.
“Oh, we both know you’re never going to wish that.” Jude swallowed a sharp retort and just shook her head, smiling as Cardan kissed her.

can you do a jurdan heacdanon where they go shopping in the mortal realm? like they pick eachothers clothes, play around in the dressing room and Cardan buys a lot of makeup? idk why but that sounds really cute. bonus if Vivi, Taryn, Oak, and Heather are along too. Love your writing ❤️
AAAAHHHHH I LOVE THIS SO MUCHHHHHHH yes yes yes yes
- It’s a family trip to the mall, everyone goes: Jude, Cardan, Vivi, Heather, Taryn, Oak
- Vivi and Heather are doing that cute couple thing where they hold hands the entire time and eat each other’s food
- Vivi not-so-subtly takes Heather into some jewelry shops to look at rings
- Taryn shops for baby clothes and everyone helps her
- And baby toys and baby food and everything else that a new mother could want
- Cardan keeps asking Jude want she likes when they’re helping Taryn shop and Jude almost hyperventilates every time
- But that’s half the reason Cardan does it
- The other half......
- Anyways
- Oak runs around like a chicken with its head cut off, borderline shoplifting, until Cardan tells him to hold his hand until he can get his act together
- He’s practicing with Oak, can you tell? Jude can.
- But Oak listens to Cardan and Jude is thankful for it
- Cardan is introduced to Sephora where is delighted to find eyeliners
- Heather swatches some on the back of his hand and helps him choose which ones he likes the best
- Jude votes on gold and nobody disagrees
- Vivi shows him blush, which he also falls in love with, and she shows him which shades are her personal favorite
- Cardan doesn’t vibe with highlighter or contour quite yet because “it takes too much fucking work”
- Cardan and Jude have wedding rings, did I mention this?
- Well, they do. Jude has a diamond and a small silver band, and Cardan has a black band
- Cardan loves shopping for Jude’s clothes
- She tries everything on for him and they have fashion shows in the dressing rooms
- Vivi, Heather, and Taryn all give their input and applaud when Jude shows off how well she can curtsy
- Oak falls asleep on Cardan halfway through and stays asleep for the multiple hours they shop for clothes
- When it’s Cardan’s turn to try clothes on, he just passes Oak to Jude and he stays asleep
- The girls are just as eager to help Cardan buy clothes as they were makeup
- And shoes. While Jude is set with maybe two pairs, Cardan could buy endless amounts of shoes
- He’s a princess, we all know this
- Oak wakes up when they buy food of course
- Heather gives him a bag of gummy worms and he’s off again, bouncing around like a pin-ball
- Taryn sticks her tongue out when Jude teases her about the nasty foods she’s craving
- Jude and Cardan share french fries, but disagree about what to put on them
- Jude likes ketchup but Cardan is fine just eating naked fries and Jude thinks that’s repulsive
- But he isn’t used to fried foods so she cuts him some slack
- Cardan likes the slushie machines, it’s canon, I swear
- You know the machines where the slushies falls down the sides and into the bottom like a slushie-waterfall? Those. He could watch those for hours
- Vivi takes pictures the entire time
- Oak comes back on his own to hold Cardan’s hand
- Cardan makes Oak empty his pockets first to show he hadn’t stolen anything
- He hadn’t, and Cardan gives him a dollar for it
- Cardan has no idea how much a dollar is worth but he gives it to Oak anyways, who’s perfectly happy with it
- Taryn and Cardan start getting along quite well and Jude is happy to see them laughing together
- Cardan gets along with all of them, thankfully, and he and Vivi are usually playfully disagreeing about something
- But the trip is fun, if not exhausting

still counts | jurdan
a small little married mortal world jurdan fluff piece to celebrate queen of nothing coming out in two days!! enjoy <3
The absentminded way he stroked her hair, or pressed his lips to her palm, or trailed his fingertips along her leg, that is what made her continuously fall in love with him over and over and over again. And tucked on the couch between blankets and deflated pillows, his arm wound around her waist and his eyes wide and glued to the television screen in innocent curiosity, she couldn't help but be entranced with her husband; it was always as if she had only just laid eyes on him for the very first time.
Cardan Greenbriar, High King of Elfhame, was hers.
His air of royalty still clung to him like that of cloying perfume; he exuded otherworldly grandeur no matter where he stood. But with the crown and the gaudy attire and the throne stripped away, he was nothing more than the boy that she had so foolishly married, jaded yet naive, cruel yet gentle. It amazed her sometimes the dichotomy of who he had come to be.
"Jude, why don't we go on this want to be a millionaire show?" Cardan broke through her thoughts with a laughably pure question.
"You can't just decide to go on these shows, you have to be picked," she responded with just a hint of a curl to her lips, "They're not going to give away money to just anybody. They want interesting, dramatic people."
She wouldn't dare admit to him that he would be the perfect candidate for those exact reasons.
He frowned in disapproval, lips pouting and brow crinkling ever so slightly. "You mortals are no fun."
A roll of her eyes accompanied a soft snort. "If by no fun you mean that just because you're a royal doesn't mean you can get whatever you want at the snap of your fingers, then yes, we're no fun."
Finally his gaze settled onto her, their eyes meeting as he tilted his head in challenge with a sly smirk.
"I got you."
Her eyes narrowed. Though said with the epitome of arrogance, he was, in fact, entirely correct. She was his, whether she would ever admit that fact to him or not.
"You barely got me," she corrected, though the hint of a smile that she was desperately trying to suppress was struggling its way up her lips despite herself.
He shrugged, running pale, slender fingers through his somehow perfectly tousled curls, "Still counts."
Then his arm was back around her, his fingers weaving their way between hers and beginning to absentmindedly twist her wedding band around her ring finger.
As she settled back into his embrace, relaxing fully into the hard curve of his body, she found her thoughts inclined to agree.
Yes, it most definitely still counted.

Okay, so I have this little head canon about the wedding scene and idk if anyone would like to read it but I just have this urgent need to share it with someone so bear with me. (Oh, and that’s my first attempt at writing anything fic-like so I’d appreciate any comments!)
So idk if in your countries there’s something like this but in mine there’s this belief that some gifts can bring you luck as long as the person that gave it to you gives it in good faith and believes in its powers. So, you don’t need to believe that the necklace your grandma gave you will bring you luck as long as she believes in it. That being said, my story goes:
As a little girl, Jude feared many things: loud trucks, barking dogs, Viv when she got angry but more than anything, she was scared of all the monsters hiding under her bed and lurking in the shadows. She hated going to sleep or waking up at night needing to pee because she just knew in her heart that there’s something malicious waiting in the dark. And for weeks nothing helped, no lamp or glowing stars, no half open doors or calming bedtime stories could convince Jude that there’s nothing to be afraid of. So finally, her mom come up with an idea. If the monsters couldn’t disappear on their own, then she would give her daughter a shield to protect herself and a weapon to fight. And that’s why she gifted her an old ring she found at a nearby flea market. It was a simple silver band with an amber in the center.
Jude was skeptical at first, but after all if her mom believed in its magic then it was enough for her to accept it. And since it was a bit too big for her, she hung the ring on a chain and vowed never to take it off. And she never did. Not when she was taken to Elfhame after her parents’ murder, not when she went to school with all those cruel faery kids, not when she joined the Summer Tournament or when she became Prince Dain’s spy. She even managed to hide it in the Undersea and kept it safe from the merfolk. And even though she had no reason to believe in its powers she still did. Despite all the scars and hardships she experienced. Despite all the fear and anger. After all her mother gave it to her as a protection so how could it not be magical? So, she never took it off. Not until that one night.
“Marry me”. Two simple words and her world turned upside down. She took a leap of faith and said yes. Just like this. Because she run out of ideas. Because it would secure her power. Because it made sense strategically. Because she wanted to. Because he was as easy to love as to be feared. And she feared him with all her heart.  The air was heavy with the scent of flowers when he slipped the ruby ring on her finger and her voice trembled a bit when she said the vows. And as she was about to release Cardan from his oath an alarming thought came to her.
She tricked him for Oak’s sake, and she controlled him for her own, but it wasn’t the whole truth. Many of her commands were given to protect him. Because no matter how hard it was to admit, she cared about him. It pained her to see him hurt and in her weird, misguided way she wanted to shield him from it. Releasing him, letting him do whatever he wants would not only mean trusting him, but also giving up whatever means she had to protect him. And that’s why she took it off. Slowly, with blushing cheeks and unsteady hands she took off her necklace and put it on Cardan’s palm. He gave her a puzzled look. “I want us to be fair and square” she said. And then she released him from his oath.
If she couldn’t protect him through her commands, then she could only wish and hope her magic ring would.
