I can't be the only one who remembers the mess that was the Men in Black: International shipping fandom a few years ago where despite Tessa Thompson's character being obviously hot and horny for Chemsworth (and vice versa), the racist white boy shippers insisted she was an asexual lesbian bc (checks notes) you're an aphobe and lesbophobe otherwise and she's a 'strong Black woman who doesn't need a man', then proceeded to ship him with that other white guy who was mostly just rude while completely forgetting Tessa's character existed, despite claiming to be fighting for asexual and lesbian representation loool

Yes and No. I think it's more a matter of the fact that Deb fucked his own brother. If it had been anyone else, I don't think he would have cared. In life, we women have Girl Code; don't hook up with your friend's exes, don't hook up with your friends brothers, don't get with your sister's man, etc. For guys, they have Bro Code; don't hook up with your bro's girl.

I believe that Liam has every right to be pissed about his brother fucking his newly ex wife, especially after both Deb and Chris have repeatedly denied that anything more than friendship was happening between them.

Tessa's character in MIB: International was very obviously lusting after Chemsworth's character and attracted to him, but white people insisted it was fake bc she was really a lesbian or aroace and acting like they were engaging in queer activism for it (ofc they immediately forgot she existed two seconds later, so it was never about sincere queer representation, plus bisexuality exists) and then turned around and shipped him with the other white guy, so it could not have been more transparent that it was about throwing a Black woman under a bus for yet another white man ship.

The exact same thing happened in the PacRim fandom, except with an Asian woman getting sidelined for the white boys, and I say that as someone who likes the Mako and Raleigh ship more on the platonic than romantic or sexual side.
