🍔 Updated review ━ 📍 Au Cheval ★★★★★ • Au Cheval have been awarded Chicago's best burger many times over, and after our first visit back in 2019 we had to agree. Since they don't take bookings they've also opened several Small Cheval subsidiaries in order to meet the demand for their burgers, and in the relatively newly opened Au Cheval in Manhattan, New York they actually take reservations; and so we had to visit them there as well. Their New York location had two burgers on the menu, and we ordered a classic Double Cheeseburger with American cheddar, pickles, onions and a dijonnaise for 21 USD. Au Cheval is an expression that means that the food is served with a fried egg, but this time we skipped it. However, we did order some bacon with our burger for a eye-watering 7 USD and also some french fries with aioli for 12 USD. • We were once again served a hamburger with an absolutely amazing beefiness, with creamy cheddar, well-balanced dijonnaise and crunchy pickles. The patties had an extremely intensive flavour and a super tender texture with excellent seasoning that begged us to keep eating until it was finished. And the worry that we'd felt about spending so much money on just some bacon was washed away when we took our first bite, as the thick bacon layer made our burger sing in harmony, adding a buttery saltiness that tied everything together. The french fries were cooked to a tender crispiness, and the aioli was great too. • Au Cheval serve a first class premium burger, and despite its high cost we wholeheartedly recommend that you visit them. Our only real criticism is that the loud music they played made it difficult for us to talk to each other, but with a burger this good we didn't really need to have a conversation as the great food kept us busy anyway. ━ @auchevaldiner #burger #burgers #burgertime #burgerporn #burgerdudes #burgerlovers #food #foodie #hamburger #hamburgare #newyork #newyorkburgers #chicago #chicagoburgers #🍔 #🍟 #🇺🇸 (at Au Cheval) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch1SuS8jWH5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Celebrate Chicago Pride And Support LGBTQ+ Restaurants added to Google Docs
Celebrate Chicago Pride And Support LGBTQ+ Restaurants
Even though Chicago’s Pride parade is canceled, there are still lots of ways to celebrate and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. For starters, consider donating to local organizations like Brave Space Alliance, Howard Brown Health, Chicago House, the LGBTQ Immigration Rights Project, and national organizations like The Okra Project, The Transgender Law Center, and G.L.I.T.S.
One more way to support? Order something delicious from one of the following LGBTQ+ owned spots this weekend. For even more ideas, check out this list of Chicago’s LGBTQ+ owned businesses.
The Spots Hamburger Mary's 5400 N Clark St
Thanks to Chicago’s “Make Way” program, Hamburger Mary’s has been able to extend its front patio out into the street. Which is great, because that gives Mary’s drag queens more space to perform while you eat. If you prefer carry out, their Drag Queen Drive Thru is still open, and one of their queens will deliver food straight to your car.

Jennivee's Bakery 3301 N Sheffield Ave
First off, Jenivee’s is amazing. Their ube layer cake is one of the best desserts in Chicago, period. And right now, they have a special trans pride rainbow cake dedicated to the black trans lives who have been victims to bigotry and racism.

Split Rail 2500 W Chicago Ave 7.7
Split Rail, a LGBTQ-owned fried chicken spot in Humboldt Park, is donating 1% of all their sales to the Brave Space Alliance. They’re also acting as a donation spot for the organization.
Tweet 5020 N Sheridan Rd
Tweet, and their next-door LGBTQ+ bar Big Chicks, are now serving dinner and weekend brunch out on their cute-yet-still-socially-distanced back patio. They have touchless menus you access through a QR code and have transitioned Big Chicks from counter to table-service. And, if you want, you can get your food and cocktails to-go.
Avenue Tavern 2916 N Broadway St
Thanks to the “Make Way” program, this Boystown bar has a large outdoor cafe. And this weekend, they have their “Who Said Pride Is Cancelled” event, with live DJ’s and other performers. To keep things safe, there will be touchless menus and every table is limited to two-hour seatings.

DS Tequila Company 3352 N Halsted St
During June, DS Tequila has a special burger: the LGBTQ (lettuce, guacamole, bacon, tomato, and queso). And a portion of its proceeds goes towards the charity Affinity, which supports the Black LGBTQ+ community. You can order the burger for carryout and delivery, or eat in out on their patio.

🍔🍟🇺🇸 — ⭐️ Burgerdudes publish two reviews every week. You can find all our reviews on Burgerdudes.se. This is our 394th review. — Au Cheval (★★★★★) — The gourmet diner Au Cheval has been listed as the best burger in Chicago and even the US. The small chain has expanded to New York, and they have also opened several Small Cheval locations in Chicago where they only serve their burgers, with much shorter waiting times. · So our hopes were high when we stepped into the classic Au Cheval restaurant at 800 W Randolph Street in Chicago. Their burger offerings consist of cheeseburger – either a single (with 2 patties) or a double (with 3 patties), plus egg or bacon as extras. We ordered a single burger for 13 USD, with two 4 ounce patties from W.W Johnson Farms, dijonnaise, pickles and american cheese, served in a bun from the local bakery Z-Baking. 20 minutes later our beautiful burger was served, and we wondered if it really could deliver. · The cheeseburger felt great when we held it, and the warm and fluffy bun’s consistency was perfect. But that was not the only flawless thing, as the meat was just as divine. It was cooked medium and gently seasoned in order to really enhance the beefy flavours. The creamy cheese and well-balanced acidity from the dijonnaise and pickles complemented the patty perfectly. And the ratio between the patty, bun and accessories was everything we’d hoped for. · Au Cheval serve one of the best burgers in the United States, and are a must-visit for all burger lovers out there. If you want to skip the worst queues, we recommend that you go there when they open, or pay a visit to one of their Small Cheval joints. Just don’t miss them for anything! — @auchevaldiner #burger #burgers #burgertime #burgerporn #burgerdudes #burgerlovers #food #foodie #hamburger #hamburgare #chicago #chicagoburgers #newyork #newyorkburgers #🍔 #🍟 #🇺🇸 (at Au Cheval) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4ja1dglYu7/?igshid=6was4yd3httx

A quick word about @Marcburger
A quick word about @Marcburger
Marc Burger – 111 N State Street, 7th Floor - Chicago, IL
Shopping for wedding bands down in the jewelry district, Sara and I needed a quick bite – I suggested Chick-Fil-A, but given she works down in that area, she turned me down, so we went to one of our go-to loop spots on the 7th floor at Macy’s – a food court with spots by Rick Bayless, Takashi, and the burger joint by Marcus Samuelsson.
