as someone who has been on and off dyeing my hair bright pink for 7 years now I definitely know the feeling of 'oh god it's too bright'. like it's not bad per se, and everyone around you says it looks good, but if it's too loud it just might not feel like you and that can be a bit disorienting. this happens to me literally every time i go for pink again because the initial pink fresh after the dye job is wayyyy too bright and I lowkey hate it. usually I try to wash it within a day or two with super hot water to fade it, but it really gets to the good color zone around the 2nd or 3rd wash. either way, the more time you spend with it the more used to it you'll get, and the more confident you'll be with it!! also, it's so fun watching brightly colored hair fade out. every time you dry it after washing it is like a surprise

anyway best of luck to you with your orange hair shelby!! the color does look really pretty, but again, totally get how it can feel a bit strange if it's not something that matches 'you'.

(also out of curiosity, do you know what dye brand your hairdresser used? I tried orange once with pravana chromasilk dye and it definitely didn't turn out like the shade i wanted it to be. yours is so much closer to what I was going for)

this is exactly how i'm feelings right now!! it's really a beautiful color, especially in the sun when you get up close, it has lots of dimension and even some lighter bits that look like highlights. it's just not very me, but i trust it's going to fade beautifully! i'm washing it tonight for the first time and i'm gonna use hot water. i'm only a little scared the extensions are gonna hold the color a lot more than my real hair, cause i can already tell they are the more vibrant part of my hair. the color was from arctic fox! my stylist mixed an orange with a bright yellow!

Personally, I used the Black Blue dye from Color Wella for a while and it worked nicely. But then again my hair dark brown so... or exactly a big jump between that and black.

tbh idk if that would do anything for me bc my hair is also dark brown but dark enough to look black if im not in sunlight 😔 i keep thinking abt trying some brighter colors but all ive gotten so far to try is hair waxes made for coily hair but theyre kinda a nightmare and extremely temporary (as in they can get flakey within hours).

i AM however still looking ive heard that chromasilk might be good but to try it im stuck between getting pink or purple
