I think the J stuff particularly upsets me because I feel sometimes fans take advantage of riot being homophobic and saying over and over that we are NEVER getting any explicit lgbt representation... Like instead of showing some sort of solidarity as "since riot wont own up to their lgbt characters then we should do so" they would rather use their cowardy as a shield to do their stuff bc "well actually thats just stereotypes it is not confirmed they are gay" n this happens with other champs too
Yeah honestly you’re fuckin right ! A lot of bitches are either too stupid to see hes gay coded or they have 1 of 2 mindsets, they’re either
1. in the camp of. well he may have all these gay stereotypes but making him gay would just be too obvious and bad !!!!! and it would be extra bad because hes evil !!! so its bad rep !!! so OBVIOUSLY he has to be straight !!!!
2. absolutely use the “well hes not CONFIRMED gay so ://” as a shield to protect their precious boring het ships with a man that is Obviously Gay. OR they make him bi to be like “YEAH BUT HES STILL INTO WOMEN THO !!!!!” when no offence. he Is Not and HE HAS MADE IT CLEAR. HE IS NOT INTERESTED IN WOMEN. IN SEVERAL CANON WRITINGS
I can’t speak much on the other bitches they do it with because I really dont pay attention to a lot of other champs but sgdhfghksdgf theres no way, out of all 150+ champs, that theres ONLY the 3 confirmed gay ones and no one else

You know, I don’t know as I’ve ever really had a NOTP before, but Disco is giving me one.
I really, really don’t like Michael/Phillipa ships. I’m not saying that neither of them is straight--Michael is from House Sarek and there isn’t a straight bastard anywhere in there--but like... Phillipa is much older than Michael, and she leaves her the telescope when she dies, and she mentors her. She literally says “Know that I am as proud of you as if you were my own daughter.” Phillipa is Michael’s new, less-shitty mom. It freaks me out to think that people see that and immediately think “they’re gay for each other.”

I think we should really just stop putting personalities and online behaviors onto sexualities. I’m sure it definitely feels like punching up in most cases, but like literally 90% of the time, it’s useless discourse that achieves nothing and exists to just get people riled up about something that really doesn’t happen outside of the internet.

Harley Quinn anon here; It's seems they were both targeting both the writer and the bi person around the same time the whole 'Ivy is a lesbian' discourse started, it just happens the bi person was at the wrong place at the wrong time. It just one of those thing that got blown out of proportion (as always on the internet). I guess the people angry at the writer maybe got too involved with the DC alternate universe comic DC Bombshells where they made a few characters lesbian instead of their current canon sexuality? (I'm trying to figure out why a bi character existing isn't the right type of 'gay' for some so called fans) I do agree with you on the Winn side of things In regards to the Supercorp thing; The other shows made by CW are absolutely terrible at writing romances for both het couples and lgbt couples (Riverdale). And in general their overall storytelling is rushed and rarely consistent with with their characters (*coughs* Kara being capable of kicking her cousin's arse *coughs*). So as much as I love Supercorp, I know the CW would just make it shit as the show is now (thank god for fanfics) Lar Gand aka Mon El and tv Mon El aren't the same person in a lot of ways. Same with Maggie Sawyer; in the comics she's a divorced lesbian with a kid. They've kept some of his hot headedness but really, as someone commented on the previous ask, he is Superman's Dick Grayson.... up until the rebirth canon... they did the Legions real dirty including my boy Lar Hell even in the recent comic canon (not rebirth) on Prime Earth Lena Luthor is a decent person (she hasn't committed crimes unlike her alt earth), though I think she has cancer or something? I'll double check that Anyway, I guess I'm just annoyed about the petty bullshit and just how the CW has handled all of their DC content. It's an unnecessary shit show during a pandemic :/
We love cancel culture... It's beautiful, how people take htings out of context and blow thing out of proportion to hate on the others and even don't give them space to learn things or dunno, change their minds or simply having different opinion that still can be correct.
I remember the Bombshells and them making some version of Kara lesbian and dating Lois and that was used as a proof sc endgame. That were the easy years.
I don't watch other shows, so I don't know. Sometimes i see Avalance on my dash and most people are happy about them, but some complain. You can't make everyone happy, I guess. But I have zero knwoledge about other CW shows (minus SPN, LOOOL)
But you know, CW in general sucks in the shipping and couples department. Is there a show that made them right?
As for the storytelling, especially in SG, I blame Jessica and Rowner (Rovner? too lazy to check). They both had zero knowledge or LOVE for comic books and it shows. Gossip Girl Woman should have not have been involved in a show based on comic books, end of story. They seriously have no idea what to do with KARA, not only every other charcter.
On the other hand Kara kicking Kal's ass was in AK's era (fuck him very much). Am I the only one annoyed how Kara's biggest strenght is her personality, compassion etc? And that her physical strenght is important and yay for kickng asses, but that's not the core of her strenght???
Yeah, I know they fucked up Mon Mon and he is not like his comic book selves, but I still I enjoyed him very much. Still annoyed how they erased his allergy easily, because him struggling with health is one of his nice flaws in the comic, ignored the Daxam - Krypton issues and made it "Daxam bad, Krypton good" thingy and erased his historian-engineering kinks? Plus, Imra???? I can't imagine being a comic book fan and not breathing fire.
The worst thing is Chris would absoulutely NAILED that Mon-El TT
Somewhere she was decent but on wheelchair, I think and of course we could have not gotten that.
I think you are not teh only one.
Tumblr media
It did, and I feel you. Also, it's super nice to exchange thoughts with not typically butthurt sc stan here, so thanks :D

WHW Royals Edition 👑 Part 1: Anne, Queen of Great Britain
Tumblr media
Born: February 6th, 1665 at St James's Palace, Westminster, Middlesex, England Died: August 1st, 1714 (age 49) at Kensington Palace, Middlesex Reign: March 8th, 1702 - August 1st, 1714
I thought I’d give you guys a little intro to Anne, Queen of Great Britain as a start for my series on weirdo royals. I got big into her after seeing the Yorgos Lanthimos film The Favourite (can’t recommend enough) and that resulted in endless hours of internet wormholes about her bizarre and interesting life. I’ve read about a lot of fucked up royals in my life (truly there’s many) but it was only when I was reading about Anne that I kind of had an ‘a-ha’ moment about how really drastically the monarchial system can fuck a person up.
Queen Anne fits this bill for me for a lot of reason; she was a surprise Queen who was woefully underprepared for ruling, which led to people pushing their political agendas on her under the guise of genuine affection. It’s hard to know if the relationships that define her legacy and life in popular culture were genuine, or if they would’ve existed at all had she not been a royal. Her legacy is muddied by the traditional, patriarchal writers of history of course and it sometimes is hard to get a clear picture of who she really was, but here are a few tidbits about her life and rule:
Tumblr media
Anne’s signature
1. Queen Anne was born Anne Stuart, daughter of James II and Anne Hyde and raised in the traditional way for aristocratic girls, with an education that emphasized on arts, language, and music. This eventually proved to suck dick for her big time later on in life when she became queen. Traditionally, girls were purposefully taught nothing useful about politics or history because it was assumed they would never rule (cough) and this left Anne very much lacking in the political discourse department as a monarch; all of her future speeches and even remarks made around political figures would have to be scripted by advisors. If she found herself off script and not knowing what to say, it’s said that she’d sometimes “move only her lips and make as if she said something when in truth no words were uttered.”
2. 8 year old Anne first met friend Sarah Jennings (Churchill) when she was a lady in waiting at just 5 years old. As you’ll see later on, Sarah goes on to be one of the (if not the most) influential person in the Queen’s life, becoming a trusted friend and political advisor.
3. Anne was what we would probably refer to today as a ‘hot mess express’. The poor gal had a myriad of health issues, both mentally and physically, all of which only got worse as she aged. She suffered from gout and an undefined auto-immune disorder (we think) as well as a bizarre eye-watering disorder and poor vision. It’s also pretty evident that she didn’t have the best relationship with alcohol or food and most likely developed a binge eating disorder later in her life (she was very large at the time of her death and there are a few accounts of her eating to the point of puking in front of other people).
4. Besides her relationships with Sarah and Abigail Masham, Queen Anne is also known mostly known for the tragic loss of her 17 pregnancies. Of all her births she had only 5 live babies, only one of which survived beyond infancy. Her son William was also afflicted with various illnesses all of his life and died at the age of 11.
Tumblr media
Prince William, Anne’s longest surviving child
5. Anne became queen by accident, after her Catholic father was ousted as king by her protestant brother in-law. He and her sister ruled for a short time before dying of pneumonia and smallpox respectively with no heir in place, so Anne, who supported the protestant reformation, was crowned Queen.
6. Over the years Anne and Sarah Churchill became extremely close friends, and most accounts agree that Sarah had an incredible amount of influence over Anne’s political decisions. Sarah is said to have had a more natural affinity for politics, and to have had a completely opposite disposition than Anne. Some think that Sarah may have maintained the relationship only to keep her political control.
7. A lot of people that believe that Anne and Sarah were so close because they were lovers. The pair at one time wrote each other 4 letters a day, that included things like “I had rather live in a cottage with you than reign empress of the world without you,” “Oh come to me as soon as you can that I may cleave myself to you,” one of Queen Anne’s “I can’t go to bed without seeing you… If you knew in what condition you have made me, I am sure you would pity.” I don’t think I necessarily share that opinion, for reasons you’ll see below.
8. Sarah was the only person under Anne that was allowed to speak to her without using a title. The two often used their nicknames for each other: Mrs. Morley (Anne) and Mrs. Freeman (Sarah).
Tumblr media

9. A lot of scholars disagree with the notion that Anne had any gay affairs with anyone, including Sarah, for a few reasons; first because, at the time, it was just apparently normal to act hella gay with your friends, particularly for royals, so excessive touching or writing wouldn’t have raised any alarms. Most historians attribute this to the extreme separation of the sexes, particularly in upper class households. Most people spent 90% of their time exclusively with people of their own gender, so it was a means to have your emotional needs met within the confines of your station. If an aristocrat started ‘friend flirting’ with you, it was also seen as rude to not reciprocate.
10. A few other reasons Anne was probably not lesbian: she had a pretty good relationship with her husband (Prince George of Denmark), and the 17 pregnancies thing suggests that they weren’t having any problems in the bedroom department. Also, when Anne later became close friends with Sarah’s cousin Abigail, Sarah became jealous and began to spread rumors that the two were gay lovers (more on that below). This rumor probably stuck and carried over into other areas of her life. Or maybe Anne was bi and both things were true, who knows.
Tumblr media
Anne circa 1685. All physical descriptions of Anne, especially in her later years, don’t describe her in the most glowing terms, which is insane to think about when I see portraits like this.
11. Anne began to grow distant from Sarah after her husband’s death in 1708, which all sources agree flung the queen into a huge depression. She was said to have sat by and kissed his dead body long after his death. Sarah took a tough love approach to try and snap the queen out of it, which backfired. This was when Anne began to get close to Abigail Masham, which infuriated Sarah.
12. Sarah was so mad at Anne for this that she literally wrote a song about her and Abigail being gay together, printed it out on a pamphlet, and passed it around court Mean Girls-style. The pamphlet read: “When as Queen Anne of great renown / Great Britain’s sceptre swayed / Beside the Church she dearly loved / A dirty chambermaid O Abigail that was her name / She starched and stitched full well / But how she pierced this royal heart / No mortal man can tell However for sweet service done / And causes of great weight / Her royal mistress made her, Oh! / A minister of state Her secretary she was not / Because she could not write / But had the conduct and the care / Of some dark deeds at night.”
13. Besides Sarah, a lot of people took Anne’s relative political ignorance as an invitation to push their own political agendas. It didn’t help that her reign coincided with a rapid development of a 2 party parliamentary system, as the gap between the protestant Whigs and the Catholic Tories began to widen.
14. One of Anne’s crowning political achievements was the 1707 Act of Union uniting England and Scotland under the banner of Great Britain (she had good ideas sometimes, although it’s hard to tell if they came from her or her many influential advisors). Consequently, she was the first ruler to ever rule over united Great Britain.
15. After a series of pretty horrible strokes, poor Anne died at the age of 49 in August of 1714 with no heirs and without reconciling with Sarah Churchill. To her credit, it’s said that despite her failing health she continued to attend cabinet meetings as often as possible until her death. She is buried beside her husband and children in the Henry VII Chapel on the South Aisle of Westminster Abbey.

I'm a lesbian and i don't mind if you think brie is a lesbian. It's not like it's anything bad so idk why anyone would be mad. And you are not claiming she is one based on stereotypes which could be kinda offensive cause lesbians come in all shape sizes and styles. Sometimes it's just a vibe and even then it can be wrong, for a lot of time i thought t*ylor was a lesbian purely based on her vibes and then according to what i believe is the truth about who she's dating and all that i decided she's probably bisexual, and i don't think im being offensive towards bisexual people for believing so. At the end of the day we don't know if taylor or brie or any other artist who is not labeled (or out) is lesbian or bisexual or any other identity. So any one can assume whatever they want, in my opinion, as long as they are doing it respectfully and keeping the celebs out of the discourse.
I feel like anon was probably mad you are not a lesbian (cough cough biphobic). Personally i thought you were a lesbian until you said otherwise but that's fine by me.
like you said i definitely don't think brie is a lesbian based on any stereotype. definitely just a vibey thing. and i agree w you also - i think we get to wonder and guess whatever tf we want about these public figures as long as we do it in our own lane which i always do.
and i used to id as a lesbian because my preference for women is overwhelming to the point where i've never even dated a dude. i have some attraction to men tho so i think the bi label is most accurate and i try to be honest about that w people here on the blog. sexuality is complicated tho and policing what queer people can and can't talk about based on their label is just so divisive and gross and a waste of time. the fruity gossip blog is gonna call girls lesbians sometimes it's just gonna happen. i genuinely do not feel that strongly about brie though so here in a minute we're just gonna stop talking about her 🤷‍♀️

I’ve tried to have this discussion before, but the context of the fact that so many fans from Spain (and even the cast) say stuff like “pansexuality isn’t real” or make fun of/insult people who identify as pan and say “that’s not part of our culture” is exactly the reason WHY some fans take issue with skam espana’s “bisexuality vs pansexuality” scene more than other versions. Because you just can’t separate the intention of the scene and how +
I’m sure the creators knew it was going to be received by the home audience, from the dialogue and message of the scene. Does that make sense? I don’t know if I’m getting my point across. I just feel like so many people like to pretend that certain fans are just being hypocritical for being upset by that scene in skam espana more than the og/other remakes, but that added context IS there. (2/2)
i can totally agree with you on the first bit, i feel like there’s definitely people who have taken it too far. i myself agree with the spanish view of pansexuality yet i would never go out of my way to attack people for identifying as pan (in my ideal world everyone takes a look of what the debate should really be about so we can be civil in regards of this issue... but this is social media and stan circles we’re talking about, so LOL).
however, and at the cost of stirring this fully rotten issue one more time... how is the dialogue and framing of the scene in itself a form to validate the “pansexuality isn’t real” debate in spain??? like, let’s look at the facts. this is how the dialogue goes down like:
viri: so does this mean you’re a lesbian?
cris: no! i mean, no. i don’t know. i know i like joana, and that’s it.
eva: either way, you used to really like guys. a lot.
cris: yeah! fuck, i still like them, girl, i don’t know, i’ve always liked them.
nora: then, you can be bisexual, no?
cris: maybe. it’s just that i don’t know what the categories are, i mean, how am i supposed to know what’s mine?
viri: let’s see, there’s not that much confusion anyway? you’re either lesbian or bisexual, no? and now "pansexual” is there too, no?
nora: girl, that’s the same thing. bisexuals like the people of their same gender and the opposite gender... i think.
eva: well now, you guys are getting intense. the important thing is, [to cris] are you happy?
this is the point in which the conversation clearly deranges. when viri begins to talk about how cris could be a lesbian, bi or pan, amira is literally facepalming herself and eva is laughing in the background. when nora jumps in to correct viri, eva realizes that it has gone for too long and dismisses the two girls to shift the conversation back to cris. i actually really appreciate how awkward this entire scene feels lol, because it’s a realistic outcome and it really balances the girls’ love for cris vs their incapacity to handle this subject well, as they’re all (so far) cis and straight girls. and to an extent, that’s the intention of the scene, to show that they all have good intentions but can say the wrong things anyway (discussing cris’ sexuality when she had just told them she is not sure/doesn’t know enough, viri immediately asking if they have had sex, eva implying that cris can’t be attracted to girls because she was really into guys some months ago and then the comment about their sex life, etc). and it’s the same thing that happened with lucas’ coming out scene in s1: eva told lucas that she and jorge had discussed the possibility of him being gay, and then she fires back at him with the whole cristian drama. but in both scenes, the important thing is that despite their ignorance regarding conversations of LGBT+, they’re supportive of them and there for each other, and in the long run, willing to learn and create a safer space for them (see: lucas’ youtube video where eva and him discuss homophobic microaggressions). and of course there’s never gonna be a perfect reaction: skames did a really good job showing a realistic coming out that is positive for the protagonist and in line with its imperfect characters’ personalities and experiences.
so like, in what universe is this scene meant to discredit pansexuality and pansexuality alone, when the phrase happens in the context where the girls are discussing something that literally NO one in the room understands? and it’s not like you have to look reaaaaally hard into it to come out with the fact that 17 y/o cishet girls aren’t the most versed about the lgbt+ community, it’s LITERALLY explicitly stated that no one is sure about what they’re talking about (cris outright says she hasn’t done any research, viri is trying to be supportive all while having conflicted feelings about cris being with a girl lol, and nora’s straight to the point “...i think”). and even then, it’s not like nora says anything incorrect: i’m pretty sure pansexual people can agree that both pan and bi people are attracted to the same group of people. and when i was in high school, most people around me couldn’t tell the difference between the two either. (way better than saying matter of a fact that pan people are attracted to genders and bi people are atracted to sexes, cough cough)
anyone could watch the scene and understand what the intention was. when i watched the clip years ago, i had no idea of the spanish perception of pansexuality and didn’t until i entered the fandom (although i had heard the discussions about pansexuality in other circles) and the scene does NOTHING to educate you about LGBT+ culture and history in spain (how can they when it’s established that these girls aren’t well-versed on the subject?). the only thing you could come out from that scene, is that these girls... kinda don’t know shit about it.
i can totally see why people can have problems with the pansexuality discourse in the skames and skamverse fandom, as well as the comments that came from the cast. and as i’ve said multiple times now, you don’t have to justify yourself if you don’t wanna watch a remake, and no one can tell you what to do about it: the decision is entirely yours. however, i completely disagree that the showrunners’ intention was to make a statement on the validity of pansexuality because of spain’s culture. and i lack the knowledge to make this point, but i find it hard to believe that the pansexual issue in skames is the only example on the skamverse of creators, actors and fans sticking up to a plotline/comment that invalidates or harms a minority group.

Content warning for Biphobia, also mentions of (but no actual details or anything) of harassment, assault etc.
Also the MAJORITY of this post will focus on Biphobia only because it's easier for my brain to stay on topic if I do that but I do get there are multiple intersections that can happen/that I could go into but at moment I am just choosing not too because it's just easier.
Something I wish that could be talked about more is how the first two, LG, within the LGBTQIA+ acronym can and often do weaponize their identities & the marginalization they face to use against any other marginalized identities they don't like (especially when it's involving LGBT BIPOC).
This is specifically something I've noticed happen often when Bi+ &/or mspec individuals talk about the rampant ongoing biphobia we have to face within these spaces but no one really seems to care. Even our own who tend to be less marginalized or are internalizing that discrimination will go to bat for LG who are being bigoted and use their identity as a a way to shield them.
This is specifically in reference to discourse around Bi lesbians but I'm also talking about ANY Biphobia I see which I have PERSONALLY been more exposed to by Lesbians then any other Queer identities. It's not even overt half the time, other times it subtle but pervasive & I & many people still notice it but try calling it out & you get nothing but "you're Lesbophobic" "stop bullying Lesbians" "that doesn't exist/that isn't a thing/your making that up/making up problems" etc.
Now this part is going to be "problematic" but I've honestly in recent years have become very uncomfortable around most cis Lesbian ONLINE communities because of this. I've blocked or muted multiple who are straight up biphobic or are more subtle such as hating Bi/Pan Lesbians & arguing "Bi's have no say on this" & using horrible ahistorical arguments or the good old victim blaming narrative of "well if BI Lesbians are allowed to exist men are going to harass US even more!" not only horribly wrong because men with boundary issues never gave a shit before about labels so why would they now all of a sudden? It's not like that kind of narrative can't at all backfire and be used by them if they find out about it as a way to excuse their shitty ass behavior (*cough cough* gay panic*cough*) but the also NOT so subtle insulting insinuation that Bisexuals (even straight women tbh) deserve/should expect the harassment just for being Bisexual/having the possibility to be attracted to men (& as an extra layer of "fucked up" statistically speaking Bi+ people have MUCH higher rates of violent/sexual harassment/assault against them then other sexualities & obviously gets much worse if you're also Trans so I don't trust ANYONE one who uses that as an argument against Bi Lesbians, ESPECIALLY Bi+ MSPEC individuals).
There are no solid arguments I've heard so far against Bi+ lesbian identities besides "Lesbians should be allowed to have their own thing!" Which... I mean... I guess? I just feel like I've RARELY heard this sort of thing from any other group, Gay HAS become an umbrella term whether Biphobes want to admit it or not. I don't feel like I've heard gay men go as hard as some Lesbians have about wanting their own space away from the "icky" Bisexuals. And I can say I don't see that talk really from other groups a whole lot either, occasionally of course it does happen bi/pan spaces against one another but I feel it's a bit more rare compared to how often I see exclusionist Lesbians not wanting ANY sort of contact or community space with people who don't exclusively use the Lesbian label so yeah i find it hard to not see this as more then respectable/rebranded Biphobia.
I'm just tired of it & wish Bi+ & MSPEC individuals could just catch a break for once & not have to deal with this FUCKING bullshit, we honestly deserve much better.

gay community acronyms are flawed monikers
here let me explain
it used to be LG for lesbians and gays
then bi people were like "hey we exist"
so it was changed to LGB
then trans people were like "hey we exist"
so it was changed to LGBT
then other people were like "that doesn't cover me and we can't sharpen our definitions to fit a specific label"
so it was changed to LGBTQ
then aro/ace/agender people were like "hey we exist"
so it was changed to LGBTQA
then intersex people were like "hey we exist and face a lot of the same discrimination as trans and gender nonconforming people"
so it was changed to LGBTQIA
but what about pan and omni people? will it soon become LGBPOTQIA?
and of course nonbinary people. LGBPOTNQIA?
but then again, pan and omni are covered under bisexuality because they all mean attraction to multiple genders, and nonbinary people are trans since doctors never say "it's a baby with a gender undefined by binarism" they always say "it's a boy/girl" and then they do illegal genital surgery if the baby is intersex anyway so yeah, that nullifies the need for PO and N, leaving us with LGBTQIA
but a lot of people have problems with the reclamation of the word queer
and a lot of intersex people don't want anything to do with the community
and there's a huge wave of ace exclusionism going around the obnoxious discourse tweens
and there's still an incredible amount of transphobia especially from parts of the drag community (*cough* rupaul *cough*) and all the damn terfs
and there's still a ridiculous amount of biphobia from the monosexual gays and lesbians and hetero trans people
and there's a bit of misogyny and subsequently lesbophobia coming from gay men (because of patriarchy and toxic masculinity) even today
and of course the militant misandrist lesbians who hate gay men and literally want them to die
so some people just want a gay community. some people just want LG. some people just want LGB or LGT. some people just want LGBT. some people just want LGBTQ. some people just want LGBTQI. some people want LGBTQIA. some people might want LGBPOTNQQIAA (the second Q for 'questioning' and the second A to distinguish between ace and aro even though people are dicks to both of them equally). and in any of these cases The Cishets™ are dicks who make alphabet soup jokes which progress to denial of rights as is the nature of bigotry. it detracts from the overall aim, to be able to live as whatever gender or sexuality without being mistreated for it, especially with the infighting.
you can't call it the gay community because we're not all gay. you can't call it the queer community because not everyone is chill with slur reclamation. you can't call it mogai since it rustles the jimmies of the discoursers and they foam at the mouth cyberbullying other tweens. you can't call it the acronym because it causes the problems I outlined above.
but that's just social engineering. not to get too into conspiracy theories or anything but I firmly believe that whatever force governs the shape of human social evolution running things (call it gods, or call it angels, or call it demons, or call it aliens, or call it the illuminati, or call it straight white ambiguously-christian rich cis men or whatever else you like) purposefully made it this way so that we would encounter nothing but problems, and have supplanted people here and there as sleeper agents or fourth dimensional ouroboros or otherwise wolves in sheeps clothing, to instigate arguments and attempt to sway lots of people to adopt certain harmful opinions and then sit back and watch the world burn. I'm sure they do it the same way with ethnicity, religion, class, economic status, gender, mental and/or physical ability, basically every potential for minority in the world. whether that's true or not, the point still stands.
whether the exclusionists are being controlled and brainwashed by the illuminati or if they're just a bunch of stupid fucking assholes, they're a problem, a problem that manifests itself as getting upset over semantics. semantics and fuckups is all that an acronym generates. CIA, FBI, KGB, IRA, SS, FOX, acronyms are just bad news in general. but then again there's NASA and the EU and the UN that aren't all that bad. plus the good parts of the LGBTQIA are good. huh. you know what, fuck it.
the problem isn't the acronym LGBTQIA.
the problem is the assholes being assholes.
so stop being assholes.
you assholes.
stop excluding bi/pan people. stop excluding trans people. stop excluding queer people. stop excluding nonbinary people. stop excluding ace people. stop excluding aro people. no straight dominant community will EVER accept any of these groups into their ranks so we are all that they, that we, have.
but then again I expect the same thing from a predominantly white group that just loves to co-opt cultures of color and then kick all of the people with that color to the curb in a spritz of non-biodegradable glitter and sticky dildos...
in closing, just love that the conservatives and exlcusionists have the same issue with this opinion. that I'm a bleeding heart idiot with wide open arms who will let just anyone into my super secret special club as opposed to being a tight fisted gatekeeper. to me they're all the same people. bigoted lonely pathetic morons with nothing better to do with their time than tell people that they don't belong somewhere. I'd much rather be around a liberal straight ally and a cishet ace than anybody who tries to tell any person (who isn't cisgender & heterosexual & heteroromantic & nonintersex all at the same time, obviously) that they don't belong here in the LGBTQIA.
the only other people who don't belong here are kinksters (kinky isn't queer, they belong in their own subcommunities, and if they're both then it's totally possible to keep them separate, trust me as a kinkster myself), pedophiles & rapists (who all belong in prison and then hell), bigoted assholes (this especially means you, White Gays™), and obviously actual cishets. only the kinksters and cishets are cautiously allowed to be near us but they're on thin ice. the bigots and sex criminals can choke & die.
this isn't hypocrisy. it's common sense. tl;dr no assholes or monsters anywhere, no cishets in the LGBTQIA, aces are not cishets. thank you for reading, don't all tell me to kill myself over anon again because deleting all that vitriol and shit is fucking annoying, fuck trump, eat plants, punch nazis, and don't be dicks to each other. sorry for long post. have a good day.

gaysails replied to your post “I’m not gonna start drama okay I just need to get something off my...”
hey not to be a dick bc I get that this is something near and dear to a lot of ppl and bisexual women on tv are an endangered species but steinberg stated in an interview that anne is gay so like. it's not bi erasure https://commonroomradio.com/2017/01/09
I knew that interview was going to come up. And don’t worry about pointing it out, I enjoy the chance of talking about this - because we, like, hardly ever do.
First of all: whether we like it or not, I think it’s safe to say that gay has definitely become a huge umbrella term.I hear it used by a variety of people that fall in different spots of the spectrum - its use has become quite similar to the use of queer, I think.
But besides this. Like I said, on the one hand, it is tricky to slap lebels on characters that belong to a time and a story that just does not do labels. However, I also think it would be extremely short-sighted to deny Anne’s (at least) possibility of being bi. I usually take what creators say as gospel, because duh, it’s their creation, certainly they know it better than anyone else. That being said, I think this is one of those very few instances where I have to break my pattern and question what is being said. Because the canon shows something completely different, you know? The canon of the show clearly portrays Anne as a bisexual character. She is bisexual and biromantic (and don’t get me started on the issue of possibly being biromantic and/or demisexual *cough* Flint *cough*).
Anyway, judging from the interviews I’ve seen and listened to, I have a feeling that creators use the term gay simply to describe any character that is not straight. As I said, like an umbrella term.
Lastly, I’m going to quote Amy @nettlekettle here:
If anyone’s going to speak up and cite Steinberg describing Anne as ‘gay,’ then my response would be to say that the creators at best have a poor understanding of bisexuality and at worst have absorbed a whole lot of biphobic myths/media/discourse without ever questioning it. :/
and say that this is also a distinct possibility. Not because they are unwilling to recognise it or do justice to it, but probably because it is a tricky subject that has always been treated as a tricky subject and that triggers difficulty in its understanding at large. It is possible that they wrote bisexual characters without realising how a bisexual person truly experiences their feelings. The result, anyway, is still extremely on point, because thankfully they chose to write every character from a very human point of view, choosing humanity as a starting point to develop them - and that’s absolutely amazing, and it drives the writing on the right direction and makes everyone in every way equal. This is the upside of a show that does not do labels, and I love that.
Whatever the case, I dare anyone to simply watch the show - the main subject matter here - and not even think that Anne just might be bisexual. It’s as logical as Max being a lesbian, but with Max we are following logic and with Anne we simply are not.

Why aren't aces LGBT? I do not understand?
I really looked at my computer  in the most Bernie Mac fashion right now are you kidding me? I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you don’t follow me bc I was crowing about shitty fucking aces all day yesterday.
1. LGBT = Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans. You can be ace and all of these things, but if you’re not any of these things, and you’re ace you’re not LGBT. Aceness is not LGBT on its own.
2. Aces have this horrible concept that they’re LGBT bc Aceness is an identifiable ‘identity’. That’s…not what fucking makes something LGBT and the fact that they think so is  more proof of how irrelevant they are to the community. Being a kinkster or a furry is also an identity/lifestyle. It’s not LGBT. You can get bullied for that. But that’s not what deems something LGBT. And the fact that so many aces are spreading the rhetoric that it IS has people like..you guessed it, kinksters and furries saying they’re LGBT, too.
3. Cishets have no fucking place claiming LGBT status. Cishets are ot LGBT. Cishets are why the LGBT umbrella exists- to give LGBT people a safe space and resources they need because cishets are shitty. Including cishets in LGBT invites their bullshit, and boy howdy there has been some fucking bullshit.
4. Ace discourse is obscenely homophobic, transphobic, and misogynist in nature, often citing things like sexual desire being gay mens’ downfall, and using instances of obvious misogyny as ‘proof’ aces are violently oppressed. Here are a bunch of posts I’ve reblogged recently that have lots of great examples of aces being absolute shitdicks and showing just why many LGBT people don’t accept them.
5. Every LGBT identity is a WHO issue related to gender. Lesbian, gay, bi– this is about the gender of WHO you are attracted to being separate from heteronormativity. Being Trans or NB is a WHO issue of your OWN gender.Aceness has nothing to do with self-gender or gender-attraction, it only has to do with frequency (or lack thereof) of sexual desire (or romance in the case of aros). This is is a WHEN issue. Like being demi or sapiosexual, which are unimportant hypermodifiers of the conditions of attraction irrelevant to gender. If you are aro or ace but do not experience same sex attraction nor are you trans or nb..you’re just a cishet that either doesn’t want sex or doesn’t experience romantic love. These are identities that have a) nothing the fuck to do with gender and b) are defined by an absence of socially expected cisheteronormative behavior. That’s a valid identity. But it’s not LGBT.LGBT people fought, bled, and died for their community. Aces just cry aphobia when people critique their shitty discourse and then go try and use misogynistic marital rape cases as proof that aces are oppressed. It’s ruthless and heartless and very cishet in behavior.
This is a simple point and aces refuse to get it.Overall ace discourse is a warpath of problematic bullshit wherein they will stoop to anything to wedge themselves in based on the idea that having a non-normative identity is what being LGBT is about. They do not self-critique within their community and take any critique of their bullshit as ‘aphobia’ thereby twisting shit around to make themselves the victim and avoid accountability, which you might recognize as an abuser/oppressive tactic (*cough* IT’S BECAUSE THEY’RE CISHET) and I and other LGBT aces have become so fed up with it that we distanced ourself from the community because for as much as aces like to say ‘some of us are LGBT so aces are LGBT’ (what kind of logic?) they only listen to LGBT folks who agree with them.
