Among the many shapes of UFOs ,the cube is one that has been sighted a lot in recent times. It often appears as a solid metallic black cube, rotating on its axis at different rotational speeds. This particular was sighted on the French alps, with multicolored light and a metallic mesh that changed to a solid metallic shell.Well, besides the sightings ,those interested in sci fi movies might recall the Borg cube .Cube shaped UFOs are often sighted by warplanes pilots ,which reports often get buried by the Pentagon .Words and sketches by Sergio Guyman Proust.

Is the Universe Euclidean?
Short answer; Yes. Long answer; Yeeeeessssss....?
There's a lot of talk about "fabric of space" and argumentation about what Euclidean actually means. And the honest answer is; the Universe is not a perfect mathematical construct.
The Earth is Frisbee shaped. (Or like a football, or one of those 60s styled UFOs)
Because the earth is a spheroid; on the large scale we say that the Earth is "Non-Euclidean" despite Euclidean geometry working at the small scale.
The only reason it doesn't work at the large scale; is because we're talking about a big rock, instead of a flat surface. A basketball.
And a spheroid is Euclidean. It's only non-Euclidean when we try to map the giant sphere to a rectangular representation.
The earth is not a cube.
The same is true for space as a whole. Except; for the effects of gravity. Gravity warps how you can travel through space.
Not space itself; the travel vectors.
A rock will keep flying straight through space until it's affects by a larger objects gravity.

Do asteroids have gravity? My thoughts say; no. Because an asteroid or meteor is missing something that a Planet or a Star has.

It's this *warping* that people confuse for warping of space-time. Along with the understanding of the speed of light. The speed of light takes 8 and half minutes to reach earth, and that speed is something we have not reached yet.
We had previously thought the sound-barrier was just as an impossibility beforehand. And now we have jet liners.
So it's fully possible that we will eventually find a way to travel faster than light, without wormholes, without warping space, and without weird time-travel shenanigans.
What fails to be properly understood, however; is the approximate speed of gravity. Or these solar winds. (Pressure exerted from the heat of the Sun and other forces.)
We fall slower than we can see light; but it's always present, not blockable, as far as we know. And just perpetually pulling on us.
It's theorized that after we break the lightspeed barrier; the next one would be the gravity barrier.
We have broken free of the Earth's gravity, but that's not the same as the speed of gravity. In comparison to light; Gravity is instantaneous. And Light is slow.
We will likely develop faster than light speed travel *before* FTL communication; because we would need to setup a galactic internet for it to work.
I think it'll even be easier than many assume it will be. Once we're actively maneuvering in space; the understanding of how to move better would come intuitively.
So the first step is to get to space and setup material mining operations in order to replace the materials we'll spend getting there.
In the meantime; I gonna study up on photonics.

UFO has such a good vibe to it, it's genuinely one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard. It feels like getting a warm hug
The third verse especially is like an eargasn
That every moment I've spent with you is an everlasting view
I'll shape my thoughts into little cubes
And dip them in chocolate fondue
Across the sea and the land and the breeze
I bet that you're feeling lonely
You must be hungry waiting for me
Engine powered by bitter memories
Penetrate time and space
I'm flying across milky way
So don't be late

Sean Kirkpatrick’s “spherical drones are the UAPs” is a lie
Tumblr media
I noticed what was recently called a human made “drone” by Sean Kirkpatrick, and shown in photos online by UFO skeptics have a peer reviewed study attached to them. Looking it up, and any other related studies and reading them, you will find, these drones shaped and enclosed like this are made for indoor use only!!!For example. Look into the study related to the “spherical drone” folks think Kirkpatrick is taking about. The drone is called, “SpICED (Spherical Indoor Coanda Effect Drone)”. You can read the study here:
https://www.mdpi.com/2504-446X/6/9/260
The drones are extremely lightweight about 3.67 ounces (104 grams) and are only about a yard (one meter) long. They travel very slowly. Not the incredible speeds pilots have both visually seen and we have on radar data.
They are inflatable but motorized drones designed to fly at low altitudes in indoor conditions about 1.0 to 1.5 meters. Not thousands of miles in the air flying in between military aircraft flying at incredible speeds reported visually and on radar. The SpICED (Spherical Indoor Coanda Effect Drone) demonstrates a responsive control system in its turning capabilities for controlled indoor use. As an example. For yaw control, it was tested with alternating yaw setpoints between 0° and 90°, and the average rise time for yaw control was about 6.39 seconds. For pitch and roll control, the drone was tested with alternating setpoints between +45° and -45°, achieving an average rise time of 7.25 seconds for pitch control and 6.15 seconds for roll control.…that is incredibly slow. That moves nothing like pilots or radar data describe.
The spherical UAPs seen by pilots described to be unknown such as pilot David Fravor are not these indoor drones. They in no way could be as you can see if you read the studies or other examples on these drones. I have searched for other studies or examples of spherical drones with square boxes inside and have found none.
I believe Kirkpatrick’s story here is a smokescreen.
“…there’s a large number of people pilots who you know have said hey I saw this giant sphere it had a cube in it I don’t understand it must be an alien well actually no the next generation of drones that are being built are spherical drones and one of them is they’ve taken about a two meter size inflatable and they put a cube inside of it and everywhere the corner of the cube touches the sphere they fused it cut it out and put little thrusters in with eight thrusters in a cube.

Former Pentagon DIA Believes Aliens Are Giving Her Information about ‘The Cube within a Sphere’ UFO Reports
eBaum’s World By Daniel Bonfiglio August 11, 2023 During the recent congressional UFO hearings featuring Air Force veteran David Grusch, two other men were also questioned, including former Navy fighter pilot Ryan Graves. During questioning, and in previous public statements, Graves reported seeing an unidentified craft shaped like a “dark gray or black cube inside of a clear sphere.” That…

Stunning Homes Built Into Nature
From Albert Frey's house built into a mountain to John Lautner’s iconic Sheats-Goldstein residence in L.A., these structures take the term ‘back to nature’ to another level
— By Jessica Cherner | June 29, 2022 | Architectural Digest
If there is one architect who arguably pioneered the concept of building cool houses into natural landscapes, it’s Frank Lloyd Wright. The serene Fallingwater home in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, made a serious case for living in nature, and since the house was erected in 1935, plenty of architects have taken a page from Wright’s book. What's more, so many decades after Wright’s revolution, the technology has made impossible-seeming projects a reality. From a supremely modern cross-shaped residence carved into a giant boulder in the Saudi Arabian desert to a glass box built into the edge of a Canadian cliff, these special houses seem more like livable art. Here, AD takes a look at nine avant-garde homes that coexist with nature in a big way.
Mill Run, Pennsylvania
Frank Lloyd Wright is rightfully one of the Mid-Century Modernist movement’s most famous architects. His buildings, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, the Unity Temple Oak Park, and his own winter home in Scottsdale, Arizona, are some of the most beloved from the era when clean lines and organic materials reigned. His Fallingwater house, however, is probably the most famous work he designed because it’s built over a natural waterfall on Bear Run.

Palm Springs, California
Though there are mid-century era homes scattered throughout the world, the biggest collection is in Palm Springs. Case in point: the Frey II house. Named for the Palm Springs local who designed it, American architect Albert Frey, the home served as his long-time residence. He built it into the hillside at the west end of Tahquitz Canyon Way. As its name implies, Frey House II was the architect’s second home in Palm Springs, and he moved in when it was finished in 1964.

Iranian architect Milad Eshtiyaghi designed what she calls the Mountain House between four preexisting trees that added a bit of color to the rocky cliff on Quadra Island, a scenic stretch of land off the eastern coast of Vancouver. Though there are quite a few levels of the complex residence in the mountains, it’s highly organized: There are specific spaces for the parents and others for their son and his family, and the two are connected by way of a recreation area.

Kendrick Bangs Kellogg took a few notes while working under Frank Lloyd Wright. Kellog’s Doolittle House in Joshua Tree took nearly two decades to complete, given the difficult terrain, for artist Bev Doolittle and her husband, Jay. Though it boasts a UFO-like vibe, the Doolittle House has been described as surprisingly warm and cozy—especially from the inside.

Hegra, Saudi Arabia
“When I first saw the images of rock cut-tomb architecture of Madain Saleh in Saudi Arabia, I knew I had to use it as an inspiration in an architectural project,” designer Amey Kandalgaonkar says. That project became the House Inside a Rock in the desert of Saudi Arabia. Considering the visual complexity of the rocks at Madain Saleh, she kept things simple in terms of shape and composition. In fact, much of the house was designed with 3D software. was imperative to use simple planes and cubes in order to achieve a visual balance. “When inserting the house into this rock, I tried to keep its visual impact from eye-level at minimum as possible. The real extent of the intervention is revealed only when observed from a bird’s eye,” Kandalgaonkar adds.

Mendocino, California
With her myriad houses in the air, Iranian architect Milad Eshtiyaghi has proven that she is not afraid of heights. This home, hanging off the edge of a cliff in Mendocino, was specifically designed to give the residents a touch of fear and a lot of excitement. She admits that, even within a home like this, there’s still a sense of calm because it’s so connected to the surrounding nature. To ensure it won’t slide off the cliff, she used a cable system: The elevated cables bear the weight of the home while the lower ones withstand lateral and upward winds.

Los Angeles, California
One of the most daring architects of the Mid-Century Modernist movement is, without a doubt, John Lautner. The majority of his unique projects are scattered throughout the Golden State, but L.A. is where the most considerable collection lies. Perhaps his most famous creation is the Malin House, known lovingly as the Chemosphere because it was designed for Leonard Malin, an aerospace engineer. What’s more, the one-story Chemosphere seemingly balances on a 29-foot tall, five-foot-wide concrete column that’s pitched into a steeply sloped hill. Nearly as impressive as the outrageous architecture are the views of the San Fernando Valley., which are accessible from windows on all sides.

Vancouver, Canada
With a contemporary bridge in mind, Milad Eshtiyaghi designed this bright white home above a chasm separating two cliffs in Vancouver. Unlike a traditional two-story house, this one has air flowing between the levels, which are accessible via an elevator and a set of exterior stairs. As for the aqua-colored glass, that’s a rooftop pool.

Prince Edward Island, Canada
Perched within two matte black brackets, a box-like residence boasts unparalleled views of the surrounding red rock mountains. Iranian Milad Eshtiyaghi designed this residence to look simple but theret’s actually a lot to it: On the roof, theret’s a long expanse of space for sunbathing, beneath the home, theret’s a structure—complete with a glass floor—to admire the views, and on either end of the house, there are floor-to-ceiling windows.

LAAV Architects’s raw concrete, glass, and black steel Maralah is an isolation cabin and a tribute to both Frank Lloyd Wright and John Lautner. The architects created a delicate-looking structure that’s both submerged within a rocky cliff and cantilevered off its edge. Perhaps the best room in the 145-square-foot house is the bedroom, which has a direct view of the azure-hued Bow River beneath it. From the outside, Maralah is clearly a perfect square, but from certain angles, it looks as though it’s part of the cliff, with gentle ruggedness everywhere. And the slopped, almost covered roof blends seamlessly with the environment.

Pulsating Cube Shaped UFO Sighted
youtube
The witness stated the following "I was on my way home driving north on Glenstone Ave in Springfield, Missouri at about 5pm on 10/18/21. I saw this thing kinda heading southwest from the northeast part of town. Watched it for a minute and thought it was a helicopter. As it got closer I thought it was a balloon or trash blowing around. As I got right up on it I could clearly see it was a cube spinning or wobbling on an axis. To me it kinda looked like it had auras coming off the bottom and middle if it but it could have just been the son reflecting off of it. It kinda hovered over the downtown area and that was when I was able to park my work vehicle in the turn lane and get my phone out to video it. I was tired from a long day and it was rush hour traffic so I didn't linger very long. After I stopped recording I was able to watch if for about a minute longer and to flew north west towards the Willard, Missouri area.. I figured this thing was so noticeable that surely others would get videos as well. I called my parents right after because they live in the area it went over. They said they didn't see anything but that they heard a loud noise at the time I was seeing this. I've sent this to all the local news channels and so far nothing has been seen or shown. There is no way I'm the only way I saw this. It seemed to be only a few hundred feet off the ground. I was so shocked that it was this clear in broad daylight......"

Leaked Government Photo Shows ‘Motionless, Cube-Shaped’ UFO
An unclassified image that’s reportedly been circulated among U.S. intelligence agencies shows what appears to be unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), the Pentagon’s term for unidentified flying objects. The object in the photo has been described by U.S. officials as silver and “cube-shaped,” according to a report from The Debrief, which first shared the image.
The leaked photo dates back to 2018, when it materialized in an intelligence report from the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), the Department of Defense’s (DoD) official unit that investigates UAP sightings.
A military pilot reportedly encountered the object while flying over the Atlantic Ocean on the East Coast of the U.S. in 2018 and captured it with their personal cell phone. It’s likely that a backseat weapons system operator on an F/A-18F Super Hornet took the photo of the object, which McMillan calls “inverted” and “bell-shaped,” and describes it having “ridges or other protrusions along its lateral edges, extending toward its base.”
It allegedly came from the ocean and then hovered in the sky.

Board of Bakhaar
Wondrous item, legendary
This item appears to be a slab of dark grey stone, with 52 white tiles making a winding path across its face.
The board always has two six-sided dice made of stone. These are bound to the board. If the dice are lost or destroyed, they will reappear on the face of the board in 1 minute.
The magical effects of the Board of Bakhaar take effect when a player rolls the dice across the face of the board. Upon rolling 2d6, a stone token carved in the shape of a prehistoric animal appears on the first tile of the board and moves forward the rolled number of spaces. Once the token has stopped moving, the player must roll d100 and consult the Board of Bakhaar table, below. The effects of the Board of Bakhaar table immediately take place within sight of the players if not otherwise stated.
Up to four players can roll the dice and have a token appear on the board. The tokens cannot be removed from the board, and the players cannot take their turn out of the order which they originally rolled.
Once a token has landed on the fifty-second white tile, Bakhaar, a magical giant ape, appears and congratulates the players. He undoes all the effects of the game and banishes all summoned creatures. The party is left with any treasure they might've received while playing the game. The board cannot be used again until 30 days have passed.
Curse: Any creature who rolls the dice and receives a token is magically compelled to complete the game. In addition to this, any player who attempts to move their token or otherwise cheat must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw at the beginning of their next turn or be Polymorphed into a baboon, vulture, or giant frog.
Board of Bakhaar table
01-02 The token moves back 3 tiles.
03-04 Over the next minute, 20 feet of water floods the surrounding 4 miles. A plesiosaur appears.
05-06 2d6 baboons attempt to steal the board.
07-08 A blizzard rolls in. Outdoor spaces within 4 miles are considered difficult terrain, and Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on sight are made with disadvantage.
09-10 2d6 wolves appear.
11-12 A brontosaurus appears.
13-14 The player is sealed within a crystal until another player rolls either a 5 or an 8.
15-16 A mantrap sprouts directly underneath the player and attempts to engulf them.
17-18 The player must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the player is instantly Petrified. Otherwise, a player that fails the save begins to turn to stone and is Restrained. The Restrained player must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn, becoming Petrified on a failure or Ending the Effect on a success. The petrification lasts until the player is freed by the Greater Restoration spell or other magic.
19-20 A prehistoric human warrior (tribal warrior) appears. She is friendly to the party and willing to ally with them, although she cannot speak Common. If the warrior has already been summoned, reroll.
21-22 Fungus starts growing around the board, sending spores. All corpses of creatures summoned by the board are reanimated as spore servants.
23-24 The player no longer understands any written or spoken language; however, they can now communicate with the tribal warrior or the shaman if they have been summoned.
25-26 The token moves forward 3 tiles.
27-28 Webs sprout in a 20-foot cube around the board, as if cast by the spell Web. The webs are difficult terrain, and each creature that starts its turn in the webs or enters them during its turn must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is Restrained unless it successfully makes a DC 14 Strength check. A giant spider also appears and attacks the party.
29-30 Day becomes night, night becomes day.
31-32 Plants start growing around the board in a 100 foot radius, as if under the Plant Growth spell.
33-34 The player must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. If they fail, they are transformed into a baboon as if under the Polymorph spell.
35-36 A prehistoric human shaman (druid) appears. She is friendly to the party and willing to ally with them, although she cannot speak Common. If the shaman has already been summoned, reroll.
37-38 The player receives what appears to be 3 Greater Healing Potions. However, one of them is in fact a Potion of Poisoning.
39-40 A pteranodon attempts to steal the game board.
41-42 An opaque fog fills a space of 100 feet around the board, making the area heavily obscured.
43-44 Reroll the dice.
45-46 All creatures summoned by the board are compelled to attack the player for 1 minute.
47-48 2d6 cultists and one cult fanatic attack the party; they will also attempt to steal the game board.
49-50 A mammoth appears.
51-52 2d6 lizardfolk attempt to convince the party to join them in their war against 2d6 ape men (orcs).
53-54 2d6 ape men (orcs) attempt to convince the party to join them in their war against 2d6 lizardfolk.
55-56 The player must skip their next turn.
57-58 A herd of 1d6 triceratops stampede through the area.
59-60 A giant scorpion attacks the party.
61-62 The player receives a rare or rarer magical item of the DM’s discretion.
63-64 Heavy rains fall directly over the game board. The water level raises by 2 feet, turning the area into difficult terrain. Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on sight or hearing are made with disadvantage.
65-66 All creatures summoned by the board now have an Intelligence of 19. Beasts can now arm themselves with spears and other weapons.
67-68 A yellowish disease-filled mist spreads out from the board. All creatures summoned by the board become zombified.
69-70 Creatures in a 20-foot-radius sphere must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw as a meteor falls directly on top of the board. Each creature takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The board is totally unharmed.
71-72 A pack of 1d6 saber toothed tigers appear.
73-74 The terrain in a 10 foot diameter around the board becomes quicksand.
75-76 A Tyrannosaurus Rex attacks the party.
77-78 The flesh of the player turns as hard as stone, as if under the Stoneskin spell.
79-80 A pack of 1d6 deinonychus are in hiding by the party. They will wait for one member of the party or a creature summoned from the board to separate from the group before they attack.
81-82 A UFO falls to earth in sight of the party. Inside is a dead alien pilot and a laser pistol.
83-84 A fissure opens, turning the surrounding 4 miles into volcanic terrain. The area is under the effects of extreme heat, and lava flows appear.
85-86 The player’s token is sent back to the first tile.
87-88 At any time, the player can select one beast summoned by the board and charm it as if under the Animal Friendship spell. This effect lasts even if the beast is zombified or made aggressive by other magic.
89-90 The party is instantly restored to full health as though they have completed a long rest.
91-92 Fifty gems worth 1,000 gp each appear at the player's feet.
93-94 The player must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the player hallucinates the rest of the party as demons and is compelled to attack them. This effect lasts until the player is freed by the Greater Restoration spell or other magic.
95-96 A swarm of bats appears directly above the board.
97-98 Bakhaar the Giant Ape appears and ends the game early.
99-00 The player is granted one Wish. If the wish has been granted, reroll.

alright this is my blog and i do what i want so we are going to break down avarice by late august right here and now (meaning i will ramble stupidly about cool drawings n colors n stuff. if that’s not your thing keep scrolling)
opening credits
oh this song has some sexy, sexy bass
and august took so much advantage of it
the poker chips building on the beat!!! increasing tension! giving the eyes somewhere to move!
there’s some faint flashy light thingy around the edges which is cool
ruh roh villain quackity
i’ll probably say this too much but my god, august kills it with the musicality. every single movement is on beat. every transition is chosen to fit the sound. such a wonderful experience
neatly done perspective going on in this weapons room
dark purple is an awesome color choice - that orange lava glowing against it? gorgeous
lava stretchy. yum. cheese.
the ROTATING SHADOW IS SO COOL!! the intrigue! the drama! the villainy! the 3D effect!
shots shots shots shots
clever lighting to create a glowing neon effect without actually including anything glowing or neon. i can hear the fluorescent bulbs buzzing.
look at the liquid moving. look at the cut during the glass sliding so we can see it go from hand to hand. hhhh
palette change! watch the bright red blood drops fly towards you when the poker chip hits the puddle
and THIS transition back into the drink glass made me scream
himbo time
difficult perspective shots when quackity turns the page. we see it from the FRONT. THAT’S SO HARD TO DRAW
cape transition for extra drama!
return of the rotating shadow. i want to make out with it
some obvious red color symbolism and whatever. look at the rotating shadow it’s so sexy
achievement unlocked: manipulate 4/4 minors
the transition of the ufo explosion is effortlessly pleasing. the way the sky goes dark -
explosion is pink for some reason. i’m not complaining it looks cool. but how did he pull off hot pink in the middle of a muted palette animatic
august can do nothing simply and i love it. THREE separate cuts during quackity tossing the poker chip to purpled so the background can change from red to purple and the red chip can contrast at the end
notice how the TNT button and the chip are both sinister red circles
fumdee
the sky in the wide shot of the tower has SUCH cool moving textures
another hard perspective shot!! why would you draw fundy from an angle AND below us??? i’m gonna cry that’s so difficult
The slime is a primordial ooze that has roamed the lands for centuries. Slimes are bouncy, cube shaped, hostile mobs that sometimes spawn in swamp biomes and, occasionally, deep undergr
august. august i love you. august what is this wing design. august you can do better. august those are not wings those are noodles
i screamed when i saw quackity turning the poker chip over his fingers the movement is so smooth im passing out as we speak
and the transition flip. it’s so shiny. are you trying to kill me
love is dead
MUSHROOM BANDANA GEORGE THICC EYEBROWS SAPNAP FLUFFY HAIR KARL
karl’s fingers... do you know how hard that angle is. do you know how hard fingers are. augh
palette change to blue george is a tad jarring but i think that was intentional. need to contrast that red poker chip of course. also nice and spicy to keep viewers’ attention 2/3s of the way through
shattering glass background mirroring the effect from the disc finale animatic
obsessed with the el rapids fire transition. obsessed.
let’s play cards
this is getting long let’s speed up
CARD SYMBOLISM HECK YEA the way that card flips up with the electric riff is captivating
at this point august starts putting characters inside previous images for a few transitions and cutting the screen in half and i love it. makes me think of animated comic book stuff
techno’s character’s lines!! long cape long hair long ears pointy crown!!
the attention to detail!!! the way the King card gets placed is animated so gently and perfectly
almost done
previously i think one of august’s weak spots has been keeping a cohesive storyline throughout an entire animatic but this one is very nicely wrapped up. beautiful improvement sir
THE POKER CHIPS TURNING INTO THE LAS NEVADAS SKYLINE BLEW MY MIND WAHHHHH
and of course i have to comment on these shots of tommy and wilbur. my beloveds. interesting that they’re both Jokers.
i still want to make out with the rotating shadow
that’s all if you read the whole thing i am handing you a sparkly seashell

Hey, since a bunch of new people are following this blog now, do you guys want to see my Cool Rocks?
Tumblr media
To start with, here’s a super amazing stripy colorful rock. This is banded fluorite, the most colorful rock in the world! The best way to view this rock is with a little light behind it.
Tumblr media
It’s so cool how all the little cracks in the rock cast shadows. And the way those colors glow! Look at all those different purples. That golden yellow gradient! Those thin stripes of teal and green and blue!! Amazing!!
Tumblr media
Here’s a rock which is business on the bottom and party on the top. Those pale green crystals up top are apophyllite. Here is a fun apophyllite fact: just like zeolite, apophyllite isn’t a mineral, but the name of a whole group of minerals! This piece might be natroapophyllite (probably not) or hydroxyapophyllite (maybe?) or fluorapophyllite (likely!) but it’s hard to tell without testing its chemical composition.
Tumblr media
Speaking of zeolites, this cluster of crystals down below is a zeolite mineral called scolecite! It has the coolest crystal habit! Scolecite likes to form these silky white needles which radiate outwards as they grow. This apophyllite and scolecite growing together make such an awesome specimen.
Tumblr media
Turquoise is my birthstone, so it’s always been one of my favorites! That’s why I need an unreasonable amount of it. Look at this massive chunk of turquoise. This monster. This absolute unit.
Tumblr media
Here’s a lovely pink rock. Rose quartz may be a common stone, but mine has a secret backstory.
Tumblr media
Back in the 40s, my rose quartz belonged to someone’s private mineral collection. The number identifying her as specimen 433 is still attached with resin! I would never in a million years scrape it off; it’s too cool thinking about all the shops and collectors it must have passed through before it came to me. What is your story, little rock? What have you seen?
Tumblr media
Desert roses! A whole huge cluster of them all stuck together! You might remember my big red barite rose. These little white roses are made of selenite, and I absolutely bought them because my barite rose needed a buddy. It’s incredible how they naturally form in this shape.
Tumblr media
Here is some more selenite, which did not naturally form in this shape! But a cube like this is perfect for showing off some Cool Optical Properties.
Tumblr media
Selenite is just like ulexite; its crystal structure is like a fiber optics cable! (In fact, in nicely gemmy selenite this effect is even easier to see than in ulexite.) Even though the sides of its crystals are opaque and white, the top and bottom will project whatever’s behind it like a screen! Science!!!!!

This little black rock turns a deep red-orange when I shine a light through it. It’s amber! Sadly no mosquitoes trapped in this one, but there are some cool swirls of lighter and darker amber inside. Since this rock is made from fossilized tree resin, it feels like resin! Super lightweight and almost like plastic. Maybe someday I’ll find this guy a friend with some bugs in it.

Halite is the sciency name for this rock, but you might know it better as rock salt. Halite’s the best because it can form in one of my favorite crystals habits: hopper crystals!! Just like bismuth, halite makes these weird hollow stairstep-like cubes. (But unlike bismuth, halite doesn’t need to grow them under lab conditions. It can just do this naturally!)
Does your monkey brain want to eat a rock? You could absolutely eat this one! If you licked this rock, it’d taste salty… but your saliva would dissolve my cool hopper crystals, so please don’t.

This weird shaped crystal is a lab-grown piece of arcanite. No, not the World of Warcraft item or the Yu-gi-oh card. It’s a potassium sulfate mineral, and here is a list of Cool Places To Find Arcanite! It was first discovered growing on railroad ties! It’s been found around hydrothermal vents! It can be found in bat guano! Oh, and big crystals like this can be found grown by humans in labs. Look, if you don’t collect manmade rocks that’s cool and all but I’ll be over here excitedly telling people about railroad ties and bat guano.
Hm, but now I’ve gotta pick something especially cool for the last rock…

You guys wanna see some fossilized lightning?
Tumblr media
This is a fulgurite, also called lightning glass or petrified lightning! Oh man, this is one of my absolute favorite rocks!! It’s formed when lightning strikes sandy soil. The intense heat melts the sand and fuses it into a tube of natural glass, preserving the shape of the lightning bolt! I can’t get a good picture of it, but the inside of mine has a black, glassy texture. If you live near a beach, go check it out after a thunderstorm and you might find some fulgurites of your own!
Oh, and if you’re into witchy stuff and crystal healing, fulgurite is one of the few rocks I know crystal healing stuff about. They say fulgurites are good for contacting extraterrestrials and UFOs! Please bring me some moon rocks, UFOs. I’ll trade you some Earth rocks, which, have I mentioned? Are all amazingly cool.
(You can see more of my rocks over here!)
