Gone Fishing: And Baby Makes Three…
this was originally a request from my dear friend Katie (but tumblr ate it, so it no longer exists) and it spiraled into a short little mini series (tagged on my masterlist). just sweet little blurbs when i get a request or the mood strikes.
original prompt: eddie tells wayne he’s going to be a grandpa.
warnings/tags: r is pregnant; mentions of pregnancy and related symptoms; dad!eddie munson x afab!fem!reader. (2k words)
-
Eddie had come home from work one day and found you sitting in the kitchen with Steve and Nancy’s newest little one. A wrinkly faced newborn with Steve’s dark head of hair and Nancy’s eyes. And when Steve had handed that baby to Eddie, your eyes had softened in a way he’d never seen before.
He supposed it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when later that night you'd asked him if he wanted to try for one of your own. And it wasn’t like he’d been opposed to the idea—he’d married you with the intention of starting a family some day.
In all honesty, the trying to get pregnant part…well, that had been fun. He’d just anticipated a little bit of time between deciding to start trying and getting pregnant. But two months later, you’d come home from the doctor with a photo in hand of his affectionately named “little gummy bear.”
It hadn’t looked like much at the time. A tiny little blob with wriggly limbs, if he was being honest with himself. But you’d cried when you held the grainy picture in front of him, and he’d cried too, holding you on his lap at the kitchen table.
Soon enough, another month passed and you were far enough along you felt comfortable enough to tell those around you your exciting news. Naturally, you suggested the two of you tell Wayne first. It felt right to do so, you told him, and he’d agreed.
You were glowing and beautiful, like Nancy had mentioned people said happened during pregnancy one day over dinner, but not your fullest self. Most mornings Eddie felt the bed dip as the sun rose in the sky, and joined you with a hand to comfort in any way possible when you rushed to the bathroom. Whether it was a warm palm sliding up and down your back or the chill of his skin on your clammy cheek, he’d wanted to be there in whatever capacity you’d allow. He’d carry your struggles on his back if he was able to. You were doing all the work, after all. And he was grateful for it—grateful for you.
The evening you were meant to tell Wayne over dinner, you’d been sick since the morning—all day, really, and it pained him to see you like that. He watched you washing dishes in the kitchen while Wayne settled down in the living room with a freshly opened beer, feeling his heart double in size when your eyes lifted and met his.
You’d always been beautiful, but there was something different about you lately. Nancy said that the “glow” people often spoke of was from the endless hormones raging through your body. Some of which he’d become well-acquainted with these few weeks, because they made your emotions vary between happy and sad in a split second—often to his own detriment.
But he really thought they’d gotten it all wrong; he thought that the glow came from the way you were so in love, it manifested on the outside with no more space to contain itself. And if it made him pathetic to admit how in love with you he was, especially so as of late, he’d happily own up to it.
“Are you feeling okay?” He asked, moving over to where you stood with your hips flush against the countertop, your head bent a little low as you scrubbed idly at a dirty plate. His fingers curled along the side of your cheek, turning your face so your eyes would meet his. His thumb tapped at your chin, your lips tugging upward weakly. “There you are. Why don’t you go lay down, hmm? I’ll take care of the rest of the dishes.”
“Eddie.” You placed the dish down in a drying rack and huffed out a slow breath.
“You were up at three in the morning—” He chuckled when you opened your mouth to protest and nudged your cheek with his nose, brushing a kiss there. “I’ll take care of it.”
“I still want you to tell Wayne. I think it’ll be nice for you two to share that memory,” you admitted softly, leaning into his shoulder, one arm wrapping loosely around his waist.
“Have I told you lately how much I love you?”
You wrinkled your nose, grinning. “Only every day.”
He dropped his ringed fingers down to your sweater, sliding over your midsection, seeking the comfort of your warmth. You sighed against his neck, head tucking against his throat, and he murmured, “Please let me take care of the kitchen? I’ll feel ten times better if you go get some rest.”
It took a little bit more convincing, and a brush of lips against your brow with a muttered reassurance he’d take care of everything, before you retreated to your bedroom and closed the door behind you. Eddie worked in quick silence to finish up where you’d left off, calling over his shoulder to his Uncle that he’d just be a minute.
His Uncle leans back with a great sigh, hand waving unhurriedly in the air. “No rush, boy.”
And once he’d finished scrubbing the remnants of dinner off the final plate to tuck it away in the drying rack, he flounced over to the kitchen table where you’d wrapped a gift for his Uncle. He double checked the little card tucked in between sheets of tissue paper, pushed it to the front of the bag, and snatched the handles in his hand.
A crooked, lopsided smile crosses Wayne’s face that matches the one Eddie wore, eyes widening in curiosity at the gift dangling in his nephew’s hand. “It’s not my birthday, y’know,” he said, placing his beer down on the coffee table. Eddie leaned back on the couch beside him, nerves bubbling to life at what lay within. Wayne’s smile dropped, concern lining his features as he asked, “Is the little missy not feelin’ okay?”
Eddie sighed heavily. “Yeah, she’d been up this morning sick. I told her to go lay down,” he admitted, thumbing at his ring finger, twirling the yellow gold wedding band around and around in his nervousness. “Open the card first.”
“What are you doin’? More jittery than normal,” he chided, but slid his finger beneath the edge of the envelope all the same, opening the lip to reveal a Hallmark card. On the front was a golden trophy, with a banner stretched across reading ‘The World’s Greatest Pop Pop.’ His head turned to Eddie, the creases around his mouth deepening as he swallowed thickly and opened the card. The older man rubbed a hand over his mouth, throat clearing as his eyes reread the words on the card over and over again. “My boy. Are you tellin’ me I’m gonna be a grandpa? The Mrs. Munson is havin’ a baby?” At Eddie’s slow nod, Wayne barked out a disbelieving but excited laugh, pulling his nephew into a rough hug.
Eddie swallowed the knot forming in his throat. Exhaled deeply to keep the tears at bay. He’d been doing that a lot since finding out you were expecting; blubbered when you told him you were pregnant, then once more when he’d accompanied you for the next doctor’s appointment and saw the little thing for himself, and then once more when he’d heard the heartbeat for the first time.
“Finish opening your gift before you start getting all sappy and shit,” he teased, choking on his own emotions. Wayne slid out the grainy photo from the last ultrasound, thumb running along the tiny outline of the little one. Eddie grinned, leaning over to trail a finger along the form. “That’s from an earlier appointment. I can show you what they look like now. Less…alien-gummy bear hybrid, more…actual baby. With fingernails, the doctor said. Thought that was pretty cool.”
Wayne huffed out a watery laugh and fished out the pieces of tissue paper within the package. His mouth worked silently over the emotions riling in his gut as he lifted a hat within his palm and glanced at the words etched across the front. There at the top, was a fish with a reel swirling around in a loop, poised at its opened mouth. Then, in blocky lettering below, read ‘Reel Cool Pop Pop.’
When Wayne leaned back, his teary eyes scanned Eddie’s face, frown setting further into the wrinkle lines crowding his lips. “What’s wrong, boy? I can tell somethin’ is goin’ ‘round in that head of yours.” He knocked his weathered knuckles lightly against Eddie’s temple; Eddie nudged his head away, lips quirking with a smile despite himself. “C’mon now. Your brow’s wrinklin’ like your momma’s did when she used to worry.”
“I’m happy. Shit– I’m so excited, but I…” He paused, pressing the heels of his palms to his eyes. “I’m, ah, in a few months I’m gonna be a dad and I don’t know why, but the universe thinks I’m ready for that.”
“Listen, I know what you’re thinkin’. But I’m gonna tell you right now that you are not your old man. You’re a good man, Ed. Gave me hell for a few years, but I know you’re ready,” he said, lowering his head to where Eddie’s palms slid down his face, an exhausted sigh falling through the gaps between his fingers. “Got a good head on your shoulders and a big heart. Been a good husband to your wife, and I know you’ll make a fine dad. I’m proud of you. So very proud of you, son.”
Later that evening, when Eddie entered your shared bedroom with joy in his heart and excitement bubbling in his blood, you shifted up onto your elbow. You peered over at him with a wide grin across your pretty features. Asked, “What’s making you smile like that?”
Eddie’s grin widened, hand splaying over his heart like a love struck fool as he practically threw himself onto the bed, singing, “You're havin' my baby what a lovely way of sayin' how much you love me.”
The sleeves of your too-long sweater covered your face, body rolling away from him, mortified. “Edddds, no. Please no Paul Anka song again.”
His nose pressed into your cheek as his chin hooked over your shoulder. Lips smacked a loud kiss against your cheek, an amused chuckle spilling from his lips. “What? I’m a man madly in love with his wife. What’s wrong with that?”
Nothing. Nothing at all, so you shifted closer to him, back aligning with his chest as his arms wound tight around your waist. You let out a contented hum as his palm drifted along the waistband of your jeans and beneath the hem of your sweater, lingering over the secret growing beneath your heart. “I love you, too,” you whispered, hand affectionately grazing over the back of his. “Was Wayne happy?”
“Over the moon. Said he thinks it’s a boy.”
And seven months later, he’d be right.
Wayne entered that hospital with balloons in one hand and a teddy bear in another. His weathered face drew tight as he ducked into the room you’d been moved into to rest and recover, hand waving in greeting to where Eddie sat at your bedside with his newborn son cradled in the crook of his elbow. An infant boy with dark hair like his and the eyes of the woman he loved. Eddie leaned down to press a kiss to your temple, pride at what you’d done to bring your son into the world still glowing bright in his chest, and waved his uncle over. Watched as Wayne placed the gifts down onto the small couch pressed against the corner wall and drifted nearer to your bedside.
Eddie’s lips quirked into a bright smile as his uncle glanced down at the little blue bundle in his arms, before glancing up. “Congratulations, you two.”
Eddie glanced your way briefly to capture your glowing smile—to take in the way your eyes had never once left your son’s since his arrival on this side of earth, and then lifted to his uncle’s, your voice tired as you asked, “Wanna hold your grandson?”
“Yeah,” he said hoarsely, breaking off to clear his throat and inhale deeply. Eddie swapped places, climbing up from the makeshift rocking chair to allow Wayne to sit, before he leaned down and brushed a kiss against the baby’s head. Once his uncle situated himself, Eddie lowered the infant into his arms. “What did you two end up namin’ him?”
Your eyes flickered briefly to Eddie’s, head bobbing with a nod. Eddie brushed his thumb along his son’s cheek and said proudly, “James Aragorn Munson.”
James shifted in his grandfather’s arms. His head moved to seek out the shelter of his warmth—to seek out the love he’d already known in his short span of time in the outside world.
“Welcome, James.” Wayne moved his rough palm to the back of the baby’s head and shifted him on his lap so he lay stretched out before him. The older man admired those tired eyes that blearily gazed up at him with a tenderness that knocked the wind out of Eddie. James’ mouth opened in a little grunt, eyes closing once more in contentment, unknowing that he’d already stolen the hearts of the three watching him with rapt attention. “I’m your Pop Pop. We’ve been waitin’ for you.”

Rosie
Summary: Now a father, Eddie reflects on his own childhood as he settles his little girl.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x reader, dad!eddie
Words: 800
Warnings: fluff, angst (probably? maybe? more reflective than anything), children, babies, crying babies, mentions of deceased mom, mentions of parental neglect, kinda sad but with a good feel to it like a bit bittersweet, just really sweet okay, eddie’s a girldad 100% argue with the wall, not beta read
AN: Never want kids in my life. But occasionally I’ll indulge in the fictional sense of seeing men that I adore just being real good dads. Something something past trauma. Listen it’s like 7am and I haven’t slept and I don’t really have an excuse so here it is. Might do some other bits and pieces about Eddie, Rosie and mom!reader. Okay enjoy (chapter 2 is now up! You can find it here)
Eddie loved his daughter more than anything. He would die for her without question, would kill for her. Ever since he first held her in the hospital, those little brown eyes staring back up at him, she had him wrapped around her little finger.
He still loved her even when she was having a miserable time with colic. He’d promised to do nights, considering he worked late shifts at the music shop and had the ability to sleep in, whereas you took the mornings in the diner. You’d managed to settle her in for the evening, the house finally knowing peace as you went about your routines and got a couple of hours sleep. But his eyes snapped open when he heard the cries over the baby monitor, groaning with exertion as he sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed. “I got it,” he mumbled, voice thick with sleep as he ran a hand over his face and got his legs working.
He shuffled into your daughter’s bedroom, softly cooing as he carefully picked her up and rested her head on his shoulder as he cradled her in his arms. “Oh my poor baby, still feeling rough, huh Rosie?” he whispered, gently shushing her as rubbed her back. Bouncing her softly, he pressed soft kisses to the top of her head as he paced around the nursery, hating that his little girl was crying and there wasn’t any real way to fix it.
“I know baby girl, I know,” he murmured. He began singing under his breath, knowing that usually did the trick. It was always the same that he decided on; your song. The one that played when you first started dating him, you grinning from ear to ear in the passenger seat of his van as you shamelessly belted out the lyrics. The one that he bought on cassette, playing it so often in his van when he drove around town that it become something of a habit as soon as he got in the driver’s seat. The song that he’d put on a mix tape for you, and would often be playing in his bedroom. The song that never failed to make him smile, because it brought back so many good memories.
And now it was the song that he would sing to his baby girl. Holding her in his arms and thanking the heavens that she was his. It took an encore of a Metallica song to finally get her to settle, her cries turning into soft hiccups that finally subsided. Not wanting to push his luck too far, he decided on settling down on the rocking chair in the corner of the room until he was sure she was fast asleep. Taking the time to gently press his lips to the top of her head, smoothing her soft brown curls after each one and taking in the strange solace that the early hours of morning time gave to tell her just how much he loved her.
“My little Rosie Posie,” he whispered, barely audible as he listened to her soft, even breathing. “Daddy loves you so much. I’m always going to be here. Never gonna leave you.”
Eddie didn’t have much of a childhood. His mother tried her best, but she was gone before her time. Sometimes he wondered if she was looking down on him, proud of the man he’d become. Proud that he didn’t turn out like his father; a man that liked his drink too much and was stuck in the revolving door of the judicial system. He’d made a promise to himself a long time ago. If he ever became a father, he would be nothing like his old man. And looking down at his own flesh and blood, he wondered how he did it. How he neglected his child so often thanks to his selfishness that his brother had to take up the mantle of ‘Dad’. He couldn’t even think about doing that to his daughter. Have her grow up like that, always looking for someone to love her and care for her, the rug being pulled from underneath her when she needed stability.
Rosie would never feel like that, not as long as he was around. He’d go to every parent’s evening, every soccer game or band practice, every school play. He would be front and centre, cheering her on and making the most noise so she knew how much he cared.
Rose. It was his mother’s name. And now, it was hers. And when he eventually stood up and carefully put her back into her crib, he took a second to look down at her tiny features and send a prayer to her namesake.
I love you, Mom. Wish you could meet her.

Eddie Munson Masterlist <3
Main Masterlist
[1.7k words]
Eddie wasn’t entirely sure what he was expecting when he walked into the hotel lobby. The last few hours had been a rush of emotions, and frankly… he was surprised at himself that his mind still wasn’t wrapped around seeing you. A lot has changed since the two of you welcomed your daughters into the world; more specifically… once you left his priorities changed.
His daughter was his main concern. Every decision he made day after day had been for Hallie, and secretly Annie who didn’t even know who he was.
Perhaps he should have been concerned that he left Meredith stranded in the middle of New York, but she was a fully grown adult and could manage fine on her own. Besides, if he was alone with her any longer he might’ve blown his brains out.
All he could think of now was to thank the woman who helped his daughter, then get the hell out of New York.
It was easy for him to spot the bar, but he heard your laughter echo around him before he could even lay eyes on you. It was impossible for him to ever forget that precious sound.
You were beyond nervous, unable to turn around to see when Eddie would walk in. Your drink was clutched in your hand and thankfully the bartender made good company.
“They switched?” He said, cleaning and packing away a few glasses.
You nodded laughing, sipping ever so slightly at your drink. “I couldn’t believe it! I mean— they’re both just so creative and smart, I feel like such a terrible mother that I couldn’t even tell my two daughters apart.”
Eddie was frozen, eyes following the sound of your voice. And when they finally connected to your body frame, time stopped still. His ears became blocked out, unable to concentrate on hearing anything at all.
His heart was pounding at his chest; his mind was screaming at him to move, to make his way over to you and finally put an end to almost 11 years of misery. But he saw how happy you looked; so much happier than the last few days you were with him.
As if you could feel someone watching you, you turned to look behind you. Although you were expecting to see him, hell– that was the whole plan– it still took you by surprise when your eyes connected with his.
Despite the few fine lines that now decorated his face, those eyes were still the same. Deep, dark and utterly captivating. While he was frozen in place, all the years of yarning made your body move without thinking.
Much like before when he first saw you on that stage, time stood still when you walked up to him. He was sure that his ears were blocked because all he could hear was the thumping of his heart.
Your earlier confidence betrayed you once you finally reached him, throat dry and burning. You could tell by the look on his face that he was in no position to make the first sentence, and so you pushed past the fear that was rising up in you.
“Hi Eddie.” You said, surprised at how calm and soft your voice sounded.
Hearing his name come from your lips pushed him over the edge; tears burned his eyes and he just shook his head. “What are you– why– where have you—”
He was a mess and it broke your heart. You had to be strong; for yourself, for your girls– and to make the bitch that ruined your family pay.
“Come sit with me… there are some things we have to discuss.” Your hands wrapped around his clammy ones, he let you lead him to the couches. His whole body still numb.
“Oh, now you wanna talk? Didn’t seem like you wanted to say anything ten years ago.” He said in anger, and you tried to not let his words hurt you.
“Eddie–”
“No.” He shook his head, “You don’t know how it tore me up inside when you didn’t even give me the decency to speak to me– just sent the papers.”
Now it was your turn to cry softly, “No no– that’s what I’m trying to tell you. Eddie, I never sent the papers first– you sent them to me, with a note from your lawyer saying to sign them.”
His mouth gaped open, his eyebrows furrowing together.
“I did no such thing– I didn’t even think about hiring a lawyer until you sent the divorce papers signed!”
You gave him a sad smile, “I know that now. I just needed time to clear my head, I never wanted a divorce–”
He cut you off by waving his hand in the air between you. “I can’t do this. Thank you for helping Hallie, but I think its best we just leave.”
He stood up quickly, but your hands held on tightly to his arm. “Actually, that was Annie. Turns out Hallie has been with me.”
He laughed, confused and angrily. “I don’t know what you’re playing at, but i’m fairly certain I know which one of our daughters I had with me–”
As if on cue, both girls rushed inside the hotel lobby. Hand in hand, a worried expression on both of their faces.
“Annie…” Eddie breathed out. He hadn’t expected the two girls to ever be in the same room together again, let alone already so close.
“It seems like we sent them to the same summer camp, and they switched places– put this whole charade together too.” You whispered at him, the soft smile on your face vanishing when you saw what was following behind them.
Covered in paint and glitter, Meredith was screaming at the girls. Cursing at them.
You pushed past Eddie, rushing over to where the girls now stood. A mixture of fear and determination made up their body expression; unwilling to give in to the blonde’s cruel words.
“Meredith.” You spoke, cold and loudly. “I believe there is something we should talk about; like how you manipulated my marriage to end.”
The words struck Eddie to the core, and he slowly made sense of what you were trying to say.
“You–” Meredith huffed out, her hair falling in front of her face as she breathed angrily. “And what the fuck do you think you’re doing, huh?”
Her laugh was sinister, one of her hands crept onto Hallie’s shoulders and your instincts took over. Barricading the girls with your body, you pushed them behind you.
“If you ever lay a hands on my daughters again, I’ll fucking kill you.”
Eddie was taken aback by how you spoke; he’d never heard you speak like that. And by the looks of your daughters’ faces, he could tell that they hadn’t either.
Something in Meredith’s face changed as she moved to look at Eddie, “Are you really going to believe her?! The bitch walked out on you and sent the divorce papers the next week!”
Eddie’s face twitched when she called you that foul name, even all these years later he couldn’t stand someone speaking about you that way.
The girls spun around on their heals, now fully facing their father. They spoke loudly, their voices triumphing over the others.
“Slow down– one at a time.” Eddie said, “I can’t understand you if you’re yelling over each other.”
His chest warmed that he finally had both his girls in front of him. He took in every feature they had identical, but he was still able to tell the difference in the way their eyes gleamed at him. He felt like a failure that he couldn’t realise that Annie’s eyes had a different sparkle in them to Hallie; that he unknowingly had the wrong twin the entire time. No– wrong is not the right word to choose. Because all ten years had been wrong; this, both daughters in front if him was how it should have been.
“Meredith played you– she made up lies, didn’t pass over where we were so you thought mum did’t want to see you or speak to you—” Annie started to speak, her cheeks flushed with redness as she rushed through her words.
Hallie nodded along, “She made it look like you were the one asking for a divorce! Mum only signed it because she thought it was what you wanted.”
You could feel his eyes burning into the back of your head, and you so desperately wanted to run into his arms and confirm everything was true. But you refused to let Meredith out of your sight.
“Is that true Meredith?” He asked, his voice a little louder than a whisper. When she didn’t reply, his voice changed into a similar sound of anger that yours was only seconds ago. “Is that fucking true?!”
Meredith nervously laughed, trying to fix her hair. “Of course not Eddie!”
Meredith tried to move closer but you continued to block her with your body.
“Get out of my way.” She spat at you, “Do you see how controlling she is? Why would you ever want her!? All those years I watched you, she was always there telling you what to do. Or where to go. She didn’t even let you see your friends–”
“That’s not true, Meredith.” Eddie interrupted, joining you by placing the twins safe behind him. “How would you know what our life was like behind close doors?”
He was beyond angry now, finally in a position that he could see the tears streaming down your face as you stood your ground.
“I’m going to ask once more Meredith. Is it true? Were you the reason the were divorce papers in the first place?”
Meredith sucked in a breath, fear choking her. She nodded, “You were better off without her!”
Six little words. It’s amazing how much relief and anger can be evaporated by six words of confession. Eddie may have been stunned in silence to learn the truth. But you were a mother on revenge; and perhaps those six little words finally tipped you over the edge.
Your fist colliding perfectly with her nose, the sound of bones cracking and the blood spattered on impact.

Summary: A glimpse into Eddie’s morning as a first time and young dad with his baby. Oh, and you’re there, too.
Warnings: allusions to sexy stuff, descriptions of breastfeeding (it’s natural—suck it up), and fluff.
a/n: pulled this one out of the vault for you guys, written last July. hope you like it!
Tumblr media
Eddie’s up before you and surprised to see it’s light outside, a sight he hasn’t woken up to in the last couple of months. Two, to be exact.
That’s when the two of you had brought Penny home.
Eddie yawned, impressively loud before he slapped a hand over his mouth, gaze flickering to you but you were still asleep; on your stomach with your face partially hidden in your pillow. You’d successfully kicked the sheets off yourself in your sleep, leaving your legs bare and your top half covered with one of Eddie’s larger shirts.
One of your legs was bent at the knee and raised up near your elbow.
God, you always looked so fucking delectable. All he’d have to do is rouse you with some kisses pressed to your neck, settle himself behind you, pull his boxers down and move your panties to the side and he could just—
Eddie inhaled sharply, tearing his gaze away from your body before his blood could rush off to an area he didn’t have the time to acknowledge, as the very reason he couldn’t partake in his little fantasy cooed from her crib.
She’d been the result of a very similar event.
He took a couple of moments to calm himself, squeezing his eyes shut as he promised, soon.
Then he got out of bed, snagging a band t-shirt from the dresser as he walked to the crib on the other end of the room.
Eddie yanked on the shirt—only briefly struggling with the arm holes—before he was peering into the crib, mouth breaking out in a megawatt grin.
Penny was awake alright, big brown eyed stare focused on a sticker that had been plastered to the wall of his room long before she was even conceived. You’d swaddled her before putting her to bed last night, so she looked like an adorable, content burrito.
Once she realized Eddie was hovering over her, the sticker lost her attention and those big beautiful eyes were on him, sparkling as her mouth parted in a gummy smile big enough to rival his own.
Daddy came to rescue her from confinement.
“Hi, baby, good morning!” Eddie cooed, trying his best to excitedly whisper so as to not disturb you, but he couldn’t help it. He was still so thrilled—and fucking terrified—to be a dad, to have that cute face peering up at him every morning and waiting for him when he got home from work. She always looked at him like he was the greatest thing to walk the earth, always so delighted to see her daddy.
Even though she’d start crying for you the moment you came into view—but you had an advantage he lacked, you always had her food on you. Her walking meal ticket.
And Eddie couldn’t even blame her, he was a huge fan of your boobs and he’d even bet he appreciated them more than Penny.
Eddie reached into the crib, tugging the tucked in corner of the blanket out and as the blanket around her loosened, Penny’s arms shot up near her head, her tiny body arching as she stretched for a comically long period of time. Eddie chuckled, using it to his advantage, he slipped an arm behind her back and head with the other supporting her bottom as he picked her up, pressing a kiss to her head (and giving her hair a secret little sniff to get a whiff of that baby scent of hers).
“Did you sleep good, honey?” He cradled her in one arm, tucked close to his chest as he carried her out of the room to start on breakfast.
Penny obviously didn’t answer, head resting against his collarbone.
“Heard you woke up mom last night—well, early this morning, I guess—with boobie demands.”
Eddie pulled the fridge open, hovering in front of it as he debated on its contents before selecting the cartridge of eggs.
He didn’t want to put Penny down, happy to have her curled up in his arms, so a simple breakfast would have to do. A pan was pulled out, so was a little bit of cooking oil and soon Eddie was breaking the eggs out of the shell—angling his body to the side so Penny wasn’t at risk of possible oil splash back—and letting them cook.
“You like eggs?” Eddie asked, stepping a little ways from the stove as he hitched her higher on his chest and held the eggshells out for her to see.
She kicked her legs, a roll covered arm shakily reaching out towards the shells but Eddie kept them out of her reach.
“Uh-uh, no sticky fingers for you, young lady.”
The shells were tossed in the trash can but Penny didn’t care, twisting her upper so her chest was pressed to his. She gripped his shirt loosely in her chunky fist as she leaned forward and mouthed at his shoulder, effectively soaking the area with her drool before she began to suckle.
“Jesus, you act like we starve you.” Eddie chuckled, reaching for a recently washed pacifier to pop into her mouth.
She seemed to prefer it over his shirt, doing a full body sigh once she was suckling on it, with her need partially sated (eddie knew he had about fifteen minutes to wrap up breakfast before she realized nothing was coming from it and would start crying), Penny went back to cuddling into his chest.
She was starting to be a little more active—not sleeping as much as she did this time last month but for the most part, her movements were still unstable. She had good neck control (you’d had to pin Eddie down to keep him from picking her up when she’d immediately cry upon being put down for tummy time), she liked to kick her legs like she was about to take off for a marathon, but she still couldn’t quite hold things for long (unless it was hair or fingers) and had yet to roll over without you cheating and nudging her the rest of the way.
Speaking of making Penny do things…
Eddie lost to his intrusive thought, rearranging his hold on Penny so he was gently grasping her sides as he placed her feet on the counter. Immediately, she popped down to squat before shooting up again. And then she did it once more, getting comfortable with using her legs.
She didn’t even seem to wonder why Eddie was making her stand, she was more focused on staring intensely at her own feet.
Then Eddie made her jump, lifted her up and down and up and down, and when that got her smiling wide enough for her pacifier to fall out of her mouth, Eddie moved onto the cabinets.
“Go, baby, go!” He turned her on her side, miming the motions of her chunky legs running over the top cabinets like some baby ninja and laughing at how big her smile managed to keep getting, her big eyes squinting with it.
“What are you doing to my baby?” You asked as you emerged from the bedroom, rubbing sleep from your eyes.
“She’s gonna be the next Karate Ki—hello.”
Eddie couldn’t help himself, dark gaze trailing over your figure as you stood there, hair a wreck, no pants, oversized t-shirt—ooh, and a leaking nipple.
  Eddie’s favorite. Yum.
You followed his gaze, scoffing at the dark stain growing over your left boob, hand pressing against it to stop it as if you were applying pressure to a wound.
“It heard her,” You pouted, lip stuck out and wobbling at him as you referenced your body’s response to the sound of your baby. Crying, giggling, whimpering—didn’t matter, your milk ducts went into overdrive, aware that your baby was conscious and could need a feeding. Her baby noises were like a trigger sequence.
Eddie lifted Penny to his face, pressing fervent kisses into the chub of her cheeks, “Score for you, babe!”
You rolled your eyes, completely, utterly fond and smitten over the interaction. He briefly abandoned the kitchen to hand her to you after you’d made yourself comfortable on the couch, ready to fall to his knees in adoration.
You pulled the shirt over your breast, and despite trying to place your nipple in her mouth for her, Penny struggled to find it, mouthing greedily at your boob, her little head turning this way and that way but always missing the peak.
“Girl, it’s right there.” You laughed. Penny gave it like four more seconds of trying before her whimpers kicked in and you hurriedly managed to get her to latch, stopping the outburst.
And just like that, Penny was content, making satisfied little squeaks as she nursed and stared up at you, pretending like she hadn’t been moments away from screaming her lungs out.
And Eddie was distracted, solely focused on the two of you and how he wanted to roll around on the carpet because the cuteness aggression was almost unbearable. If this was how he would be spending every work-free morning for the rest of his life, he was ready to convert to being a morning person.
Especially if those big sparkly eyes and that gummy smile would be staring up at him. GOD-she was so stinking cute. He wanted to smother her in his affection, but she was growing annoyed with Eddie all up in her face and squishing the chub she was accumulating. She even cried if he faked chewed on her chunky cheeks for too long.
“What’s that smell?” You asked, snapping him out of his love stupor as you sniffed loudly.
“FUCK!” Eddie bolted back to the kitchen, smoke surrounding the pan and what had once been edible eggs, “Hey, honey, what’s your opinion on extra crispy eggs? You a risk taker?”
“The answer to that is hurting my nipple right now.”
“Valid. That was a very fun risk.”

Eddie munson x pregnant!reader
Summary: you and Eddie find out you're pregnant.
Warnings: fluff, talks of pregnancy, pulling out, condoms etc. Talks of sex. Kissing.

A/n not proofread. I'm posting because it's been rotting away in my drafts. Sorry if this isn't good. I don't even remember what it's about.

"This can't be real..." You whispered to yourself as you stared blankly at the piece of plastic in your hands. Staring at two little pink lines.
Two little tiny pink lines telling you you're pregnant. How? You and Eddie have always been careful. You used protection every single time you had sex.
You've had scares in the past where your periods were weeks late. But when you ended up being over a month late this time around. You decided it was time to take a test. You had a gut feeling you might have been pregnant.
You were exhausted more so than usual. Extremely sensitive and had nausea every morning and evening. Were you surprised? No. Shocked? Yes. There was a little part of you hoping you were wrong. A baby right now just wasn't in yours and Eddie's plan.
You've only been dating for almost two years now. While having a family with him is something you do want. Getting a head start right now just wasn't ideal. You only just moved in together this past summer.
Now that you hold this little test strip in your shaking hands, you know you'll have to break the news to your boyfriend eventually. He's out in the living room watching The Golden Girls. A show you never would have guessed was his favorite. You heard his laughter echoing around the trailer during the cheesecake episode.
Was he going to be mad? Would he scream and yell at you? Blame this all on you? You thought to yourself. You felt like you were going to throw up out of nervousness.
No. Eddie wouldn't be upset with you over something like this. He isn't that type of person. No matter how others viewed him to be. He isn't like that. You can't even remember a time he raised his voice to you. You soothed yourself down, taking deep breaths.
Opening up the bathroom door, you make your way over to him.
"Hey baby, come watch." He pats the cushion next to him.
You swallow hard. "Uh, can we turn this off for a sec?"
Eddie looks up, noticing there was something very wrong with you.
"Uh, sure." He grabbed the remote, switching the tv off.
"Well, there isn't any better way to tell you this, so I'm just gonna say......I'm pregnant." You blurted out.
Eddie laughed at first. "Pregnant. Okay." He takes a sip of his beer. His laughter quickly died when you saw the serious and very scared look on your face.
"You took a test?" He gulped.
"Yeah, just a few minutes ago." You swallow another lump in your throat.
You immediately start to panic again, "We're always careful. I don't know how this happened."
Eddie stands to quickly be by your side. He hasn't really had time to process what you just told him. His immediate focus right now is calming you down.
We're careful...WE'RE ALWAYS CAREFUL!" You shouted. Your face is growing hot, and you feel like you could pass out any moment.
"You always wear a condom you fuckin' keep them in your wallet for christ sake"
"I know, baby, but I mean those things don't always work," Eddie reassured you softly, rubbing your back.
"We're always careful." You repeated again.
"Well, let's think back to when we weren't careful." He's trying to help put the pieces together. There had to have been a time when you both were so caught up in each that he didn't put on a condom or something.
"When was there a time I didn't at least wear one?"
"I dunno." You tap your fingers against your forehead. While Eddie guides you to sit down on the couch. "There had to have been a night - where - we..." You trailed off.
"My parents," you gasped loudly, snapping your fingers together.
His brows shoot up, and his eyes widen. He suddenly remembers that night very, very well. But he pulled out. He knows he did.
"When we stayed the night because of the storm" You continued on. The memory of that night flooding back to you. That was it. Eddie had promised to pull out right before he finished - yet obviously didn't do it in enough time.
There was something in the air that day. You couldn't pinpoint what it was. You had told Eddie to behave, but at dinner, you were the one misbehaving. Teasing him a little. Trying to get a rise out of him. You didn't think he was still going to be worked up even after it was time for bed. You were wrong. Very wrong.
"Huh," Eddie sounded utterly perplexed. He moves to sit down next to you. trying to bring you any amount of comfort he can offer.
"Huh what?" You repeated back to him. Why wasn't he as freaked out like you?
"Jus' the fact that I got you pregnant on a pull out couch is fucking ironic" He was in disbelief. Absolute disbelief. He knew pulling out wasn't his strong suit, but he never thought from just that one time would get you pregnant.
Was Eddie upset you were pregnant? No. Not at all. Having kids with you was something he always saw in your future together. How could he be so stupid, though? He thought. The one time he doesn't use a condom and you get knocked up.
"Are you--are you joking right now?" Your mouth hangs open. "Don't joke, please don't joke."
"Hey, hey, it's okay. Everything will be okay. " He pulls you to him. Your head lays flat against his chest. He was trying to be supportive, but on the inside he's freaking out. When he freaks out, he makes dumb jokes to lighten the mood. Something he knows he shouldn't have done, but it's too late now.
"Sooooo at yours parents place it was then." He draws out leaning forward to rest a hand under his chin.
"I guess." You murmured.
Eddie smiles fondly to himself. He most definitely remembered that day. That night, most importantly.
"....well," He perks up, jumping up to stand. He was trying to be as optimistic as possible. Truthfully, on the inside, he was freaking out. If you weren't sitting there in front of him right now, he would probably be pissing himself. Eddie knows you would be an amazing mother to his children. He most definitely knows he would be a great father, too. A complete contrast to how his father was.
"Time to make some calls." He was already heading for the phone when you panicked, running over to stop him. "We can't not yet--i need to see a doctor first."
"To make sure I am...I mean I know I am, but I need confirmation,"you further explained. Eddie just stood there listening to you and agreed as he silently nodded his head.
"Okay, well, after we see the doctor, who are we telling first? Your parents or my parent?" He was so eager to tell everyone. He was terrified, but the more he thought about it, the more excited he became. A tiny little version of you and him mashed together, running around.
"We'll tell Wayne first." You said matter of factly. You loved your parents, but you were closer to his uncle. He was like a second father to you, and you couldn't imagine anyone else knowing before him.
Eddie smiles and leans down to kiss the corner of your mouth.
"You scared?" He whispered leaning his forehead against yours.
...a-a little, but we'll be fine." You whispered back. The longer it sinks in that you're pregnant, the panic seems to fade. Eddie wasn't angry with you. He was scared you could tell but that's to be expected.
"Don't be scared, baby. We're doing this together." He reassured before kissing your lips softly again. "M'gonna take care of you both."
Tumblr media
It's been three weeks since you took your pregnancy test and had your doctor's visit. They confirmed you were, in fact, expecting. Two months, to be exact. You were greatfull you got pregnant in the winter. Oversized sweaters and hoodies were your best friends. Now, it was time to break the news to everyone.
Eddie and you had already agreed. Wayne was going to be the first to know. You had everything planned out. You had told Eddie to call his uncle and ask if he wanted to go out for dinner. Knowing Wayne, he wasn't going to pass up on an opportunity to spend time with either of you.
You wanted to surprise him with a gift. You know Wayne has a green thumb. He loves to garden. He brags about how he has the best tomatoes in Indiana. So you took Eddie shopping for the perfect gift to give to him as a cute way to tell him you and his nephew are having a baby. You hope he'll catch on and figure out he's going to be a grandpa when he opens his present. It's a little onesie with "Home grown" embroidered on the front with little veggies.
"I like this one." You pointed at the cute little outfit on the hanger.
Eddie chuckled, reading the front. "Wayne's gonna love it. Hell won't be surprised if he tried wearing it." He joked, picking up the tiny shirt off the rack.
You giggled, "I can't wait to tell him."
"Me too, I can't keep my mouth shut for much longer." He mumbled, smirking at some of the funny sayings scribbled on the baby clothes.
The longer you came to terms with the fact that you're pregnant, your stress eased up. Sure, you were still scared, but you had Eddie and your friends. Plus your family. You reassured yourself almost daily that you'd be fine and to enjoy your pregnancy. Every single article of clothing you saw you bought. Didn't matter the color or size. If it was cute, you picked it up.
Eddie was a nervous wreck in the beginning but concealed it well. Mostly because he knew he needed to be there for you. he was also excited, too. He couldn't wait to share his hobbies with his little one. Read them bedtime stories. Sing to them at night before bed. Teach them to play an instrument or two. He looked forward to showing up to the PTA meetings in his battle vest with his sweet "mini me" on his hip.
Eddie knew he was going to be a good dad. He promised you and the baby still in your tummy every night he'd protect the both of you. He couldn't keep his hands off your belly. You weren't far along in your pregnancy, but Eddie was constantly hoping he could feel a little kick.
"We should do the dinner today." Eddie mentioned holding a handful of baby clothes.
"He might wanna to do it tomorrow since he's off."
"I'll call'em when we get home and ask. he can't say no to me." You agreed. It's true Wayne can't say no to you. Which you will take advantage of.
Later on that day after you and Eddie arrived home. You put Wayne's surprise in a little gift bag with a note attached to it.
Picking up the phone, you began dialing his number patiently, waiting for him to pick up. He should be home by now. You thought. "Hey Wayne, it's me, your favorite. I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with me and Eddie tonight instead of tomorrow? "
Eddie leaned closer over in the wooden chair sat by the dining room table. He scoffs when he heard you get extatic on the other end. Knowing full well, his uncle said yes.
"You will? Okay, we'll pick you up at five o'clock sharp."
"Favorite, huh?" He crossed his arms with a smirk.
"You know it." You playfully mess up his hair as you run to your bedroom to get ready.
"Yeah, well, I've known him longer... I have seniority over him!" Eddie yelled out, teasing you.
He gets up from his chair, making his way to your shared bedroom. He stands there leaning in the doorway. Admiring you getting undressed in front of him. Taking in every curve on your figure.
Eddie moves to wrap his arms around you from behind. Pulling your back tight to his chest. His nose buried in the crook of your neck. You smiled softly, melting into his arms.
"Ya know, I was reading that baby book you bought it said something about sex helping induce labor." He whispered seductively in your ear. His lips trailing light kisses down your neck.
You turned your head."...Eddie, that's not until months from now." You let out a breathy laugh.
"Yeah, but just think about how well prepared you'll be when the time comes - kid is just gonna slide right out." Eddie argued. You know half of him is joking, and the other half is completely serious.
"Get dressed, babe. we leave in thirty minutes." You peel yourself from his tight grasp.
"Offer still stands." He holds up his hands in surrender.
Fifteen minutes went by, and there was a loud knock at your front door. His uncle had driven over so you all could ride together. After much bickering from Wayne, you all packed in Eddie's van.
Wayne refused to let Eddie drive, so it was you and him upfront with your boyfriend sulking in the backseat. Mumbling to himself about how he's not that bad and how everyone else just drives slow.
You noticed Eddie's uncle looking at the small gift bag you made up for him. His eyes kept wandering over to guess who it was for and what was inside.
Once all three of you pulled up in front of the new local diner in Hawkins. You three gathered in and let the hostess walk you over to your table. You and Eddie sat next to each other in a booth, leaving wayne alone across from you. The waitress comes over taking everyone's orders. After she left, you figured it was the perfect time to give it to him.
You look up at Eddie, nudging his side to grab his attention. His uncle just got done scolding him over his breaks needing change.
"So uh, we got you a present," Eddie coughed. He doesn't think he can handle more lectures from the man who practically raised him.
But he straightened up his back, preparing for anything.
"Yep here you go hope you like it." You picked up the bad next to you and placing it front of him.
"For me?" Wayne grabbed it and started taking the tissue paper out. "It ain't ma' birthday yet."
He laughs when he pulls out the tiniest little shirt he's ever seen. "Home grown, that's cute...I don't think it's gonna fit me though darlin-."
He cuts his sentence, short eyes growing wider by the second. You and Eddie look over at each other, smiling from ear to ear.
"Is this what I think it is?." Wayne questioned with tears threatening to spill over his lashes.
"Yep we're having a baby." Eddie moved to wrap an arm over your shoulder and pulling into his side.
"We wanted to tell you first." You choked back a sob.
Wayne still gathering his thoughts. He's holding the small onesie in his hand like he's already holding your newborn baby.
"I-I'm gonna be a grandpa?" Wayne wiped at his eyes. His was starting to become overwhelmed.
Here come the tears from Eddie now. His eyes swelling up and nose turning red. He's never seen Wayne this over come with emotions before. The only time he's ever seen him like that is when his dad started his usual mess. That was always just out of anger and frustrations mostly. This was pure joy and happiness. Wayne has always wanted the best for his nephew.
"We're thinking of naming them, Ozzy." Eddie tried to joke and lighten the mood.
Wayne couldn't say anything but only shake his head at nephew. He cleared his throat, grabbing napkins from the dispenser on the table.
"We are not." You spoke up, wiping your eyes.
Your food finally came, and the waitress gave all three of you a concerned look. A table full of adults bawling their eyes out is a cause of concern. Especially in this town. It was only when she noticed the tiny onesie folded up neatly beside wayne on the table, did her worry look drop. She mumbled a soft aww and set everyone's food down.
"Congratulations to all of you." She said with a warm smile.
The rest of the night went on like normal. Except now instead of Wayne fussing at Eddie for not eating healthy. He was doing that to both of you. Telling you how you need to order seconds because you're eating for two. Informing Eddie how the trailer needs to be baby proofed immediately. The only thing left to do was tell your parents next and his friends. You can only assume which of the two is going to freak out the most.
You leaned over and whispered to Edde, "You wanna tell Dustin next ooooor-?"
He side eyed you. " We're telling your parents next - if it makes you feel better, I'll be on the phone so they can yell at me instead."
"Deal?" Eddie leaned back in the booth, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. He was busy focusing on Wayne's ranting and your concerns about telling your parents.
You sighed, dreading that phone call, but knowing it needs to be done. "deal."

Why are you in my head?
Sneak Peek: Eddie and you are soulmates. The legend of soulmates is that you start to hear one another’s thoughts around age 16 – not all the time, but when you’re feeling a strong emotion. It simply flows out of you and into the other, the legend also states that the closer you are, the more you can hear them. **The events of season 4 did NOT happen** I did also use some of the dialogue
Bold are Eddie’s thoughts; Italics are reader’s thoughts. (mind you, they are essentially hearing both sets of thoughts)
Eddie Munson x Fem Sunshine! Reader (Soulmate AU)

That being said I do not own the characters portrayed in this story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You had known all about soulmates, your mom had told you bedtime stories about soulmates and how she and your dad met throughout your entire childhood. They had been hearing one another’s thoughts for quite a while before your dad saved your mom from being run over by a biker as she stepped off the curb. She’d tell you how when their eyes met she could hear him thinking about how beautiful her eyes were and he heard her thinking about how handsome he was. You have hoped and dreamed of meeting your soulmate since you were four years old.
You had a soulmate, that much you knew. You had been hearing his thoughts for the last few years, they were few and far between which frustrated you. Your mom had explained it just meant he wasn’t close by, which sucked. You were hoping that the distance would decrease, given your family’s plans to move.
Tumblr media
Hawkins, Indiana wasn’t exactly a town that people were flocking to…but here you were. Your mom had been offered a job at their hospital there as the supervising nurse and your parents had decided it was too good an offer to pass up. Your dad had contacted the local police department to see if they had any openings, to which they asked for a letter of recommendation and pretty much offered him the job.
Things were working out well for your parents. You hadn’t really been sure about the move. Your soulmate’s thoughts had been pretty quiet the last few days but, a part of you knew it was because your anxiety of this move was clearly drowning out his thoughts.
The car finally came to a stop, and you glance up for the first time since you’d gotten in the car that morning, too focused on the music playing from your Walkman and rereading The Hobbit, again. You looked up to see a modest home in a cookie cutter neighborhood, you were grateful for your parents and their ability to provide you with the things you need, but some days you wished your family wasn’t so…average.
“Sweetie, why don’t you head in and pick your room?” Your mom suggested.
“Really? I get to choose?” You asked.
“You have your pick, other than the master bedroom. You and I will organize the remaining rooms.” Your mom explained.
Damnit, if I could just get the chords right.
You quickly jogged up to the door, letting yourself in. You made your way upstairs first, checking out the two small bedrooms up there that were situated opposite the master bedroom, separated by a full bathroom. While both rooms were nice, they didn’t give you nearly enough room to “express your creative freedom” as your mom had encouraged. On the main level there was a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, powder room, and living room. There had been a door leading under the stairs, you were pleased to see it led down into a fully finished basement that had a full bathroom.
“MOMMMMM! I chose my room!” You called as you ran up the stairs.
There we go.
Tumblr media
*Eddie’s POV*
Hell yeah! This is fucking perfect!
The thoughts had rung out like an alarm in his head. Her thoughts had never been this loud and clear. What had changed?
She better let me make the basement my room!
Had she finally moved? He had been hearing all her nervous thoughts about packing up and moving across the country. She must be closer now if her thoughts were coming in like this now.
YES! YES! YES! Now…how to decorate?
He smiled to himself. She seems sweet based off what he knows. He had asked Wayne about soulmates when he was growing up. He’d asked questions like “why can’t I just think of my address, so she could find me?” and Wayne had explained that it didn’t work like that. Thoughts were passed back and forth at moments it was needed – in times of excitement, or when we needed comfort, or to vent. There was some sort of neurological algorithm as to what thoughts were sent when.
*End Eddie’s POV*
Tumblr media
You had started unpacking pretty much the second your parents agreed to let you make the basement your room. Your dad had even agreed to take you to the hardware store to pick up paint this weekend.
“You’ll start at the high school on Monday. The principal confirmed that he received your transcripts and all your credit hours transferred, so you’re right on track.” Your dad explained.
“Oh, awesome! Did he happen to send my schedule or anything so I could familiarize myself with it beforehand?” You asked.
Oh fuck…fuck, fuck, fuck! I am so late. O’Donnell is gonna kill me!
Your hand flew to your head, the volume of his thoughts brought forth a pounding in your head. They had never been this loud before.
“Bug? You okay?” Your dad looked concerned.
“Yeah, I’m okay! Just a headache. Too many thoughts in there I guess.” You chuckled lowly.
“Honey, was it his thought?” Your mom questioned.
You hadn’t told your parents much about your soulmate, only that you had been able to hear him and that he was, in fact, a him.  They had also been aware that you hadn’t been able to hear him lately – that was when your mom explained that your thought can sometimes drown out theirs.
“Yeah, it was and uh, I don’t know, I guess it was kinda loud.” You shrugged.
“How loud?” Your mom asked.
“I don’t know, loud enough to give me a headache. It was like he was in the room with me.” You looked at your parents, a knowing grin making its way onto each of their faces. “What?”
“Nothing bug. Let’s go see if your principle sent that schedule over.” Your dad wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you into his side.
Tumblr media
Monday morning had come way too soon, though you’d had an incredibly productive weekend. Your room was painted and decorated, you’d finished rereading The Hobbit and had begun rereading Pet Cemetery, you’d also memorized your class schedule.
Your dad dropped you off at school, he also told you he was planning to go and check out a car for you after his shift – that had left you pretty excited.
Finally! My own car!
The day was dragging on pretty slowly…truthfully you were ready for lunch.
Then Vecna will make a surprise return.
What the hell?
This campaign is going to be epic!
His thoughts had come and gone like this since you’d arrived in Hawkins. Just back and forth with random tidbits that left you more confused than anything.
The bell ringing had been your saving grace. It was finally time for lunch, and now you were feeling anxious again…where were you meant to sit?
You looked around and before you could take a step, a voice stopped you dead in your tracks.
Here we fucking go.
“We're the freaks because we like to play a fantasy game. But as long as you're into band or science ...or parties or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets...”
God he’s hot.
“It's forced conforming. That's what's...killing the kids!”
Assholes.
Kids were either laughing at his outburst or calling him horrible names, but you just stood there. Could this really be him? This super-hot guy who just caused an entire scene in the cafeteria.
“Me, I am army-crawling my way toward a D in Ms. O'Donnell's. If I don't blow her final, I'm gonna walk that stage next month, I'm gonna look Principal Higgins dead in the eye, I'm gonna flip him the bird, I'm gonna snatch that diploma. I'm gonna run like hell outta here…This year is different. This year is my year.”
He took a step back and bumped right into you, but before you could fall to the ground, he grabbed your arm and pulled you up and against his chest.
Holy shit.
Holy shit.
You both let out a quiet chuckle.
All at once, colors were brighter, smells were sweeter, touches were softer. Everything came together in that moment; you couldn’t believe it. Here he was.

"Yeah, I got the expensive kind," you're saying, phone sandwiched between your ear and your shoulder, a knife held loosely in your hand. "I don't wanna make it wrong."
Roan can vaguely hear the rumble of her Uncle's voice on the other side giving reassurances.
You scrape the blade of the knife against the cutting board. "I know. I know, Wayne, I swear, just… I hardly ever make him dinner and this is our last anniversary before we get married, and– I know. Sorry, that's– I know, you don't mind, it's just–"
Roan attaches herself to your hip like an octopus, looking up at you as you look down. You smile at her, putting your knife flat to stroke her hair.
"She's right here," you say, "she's helping me… okay. Thanks, Wayne, you're the best. See you tomorrow. Alright, I will. Bye."
You put your hand behind Roan's shoulder and walk her with you to the phone. As soon as you've hung it back on the hook, you scoop her up to hold against your chest, even if she's getting longer and longer every day. "Hey, babe. Uncle Wayne says he loves you and he missed you today. He wants to make you dinner tomorrow, so we'll find your nice blue dress tonight and put it in the wash."
Roan flops her face against your neck. "I love him too."
"He knows." You press your cheek to hers briefly. "Okay, you wanna sit on the top with me and I'll finish making today's dinner?"
Roan's happy to sit on the counter and swing her legs as you finish making the pot pie. It's one of Eddie's favourites because his mom used to make it a couple of times a month, and so it's one of Roan's favourites, her lips quirked with excitement as you chop onions, carrots and celery into small pieces for the frying pan.
"I love the carrots," she says.
"Yeah?" You uncap the cooking oil to pour a generous splash into the pan. "Want me to put extra in? I don't mind."
Roan nods enthusiastically. "Yes!"
She's happy watching you cook at first, but she gets quieter as you finish up. By the time the pie is in the oven she's picking at her little nails, shards of polish in her lap like powdered sugar.
"You okay?" you ask, wiping your hands clean. She shrugs. You shrug back. "What's that mean?"
"I'm thinking."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah." Roan pokes her toes into your thigh.
"Well, daddy's home soon, but you know you can tell me."
"Mm," she hums, holding out her hand. You don't take it, folding her into your arms for a hug instead.
It would usually make her feel better, but Roan feels ten times worse as you soften your tone to a less cheerful murmur, "Got another tummy ache?"
"Not that."
"What is it?" you ask.
She hides her face in your shoulder, pert nose to your soft shirt.
"You don't have to tell me," you whisper. "Sorry. I'm not trying to pressure you, I promise, I just love you." You turn saccharine again, patting her back as you dote excitedly into the top of her head. "Love you love you love you!" You punctuate with a kiss, and Roan starts crying.
Eddie's startled but not too worried to get home to the sound of Roan crying. She certainly cries less and less now that she's getting older, but children cry so often that he doesn't think it's worth panicking over.
He can hear you already on the case as he peels out of his sweaty coat and boots. "That's not going to happen," you comfort, voice bouncing off of kitchen tile, the hum of the oven like a baseboard. "It's hard to believe me, but it won't. Me and daddy are super happy."
His eyebrows rise of their own accord. "Hello?" he asks, moving down the hallway and into your bright kitchen.
Roan sits in the shadow of a corner cabinet, hunched over her knees with her face held up by defeated hands, tears wetting her rosy cheeks. You stand in front of her with your hand on shoulder, bent to her eye-level, glancing sideways at him momentarily before you say, "Look, dad's home. He's gonna say the exact same thing as me, I swear. Should we ask him?"
Eddie takes the mantle by your side, quick to rub the tears from Roan's cheek with his pinky. His hands aren't clean enough for anything more. "What's wrong?" he asks.
"Nothing," Roan says, her voice strangled by a big sob.
"Babe!" Eddie laughs, half-hearted. "I can see something's super wrong. I might be a dumb boy, but I know when my girl's upset, don't I?"
"You're not a dumb boy," Roan says.
"Oh. Thank you, Ro."
"You're a dumb man."
"Very funny." He combs unruly coils of dark hair behind her ear, finger following down the curve to her shoulder. "Quick, tell me what's wrong. Just tell me. Rip it off like a bandaid."
"It's silly," Roan murmurs.
"Says who?"
"Says me."
"Oh," Eddie says, giving you a look to make sure it's alright before he monopolises her attention. You raise your hands with a small smile, as if to say, Please. "Come here, me. I'm gonna have to squeeze this out of you, huh?"
He leans back, shifting her weight against his hip, arm stretched over the breadth of her back. He's not smug, but it does bring a satisfaction to see how swiftly she calms down once he's holding her. It's a familiar picture, Eddie with his lips to her forehead, a crease between his brow just like Uncle Wayne's as he rubs her back, and Roan, a mirror image of her father, palpable relief in her hands as they tangle in his hair. Less familiar but getting there is you at their side, your cheek on Eddie's shoulder and your hand on his elbow.
"What's it gonna take to let me in on the secret?" he asks. He's making a spoiled child accidentally, always bribing and bartering for good behaviour.
"Nothing…" Her mumbling tickles his cheek as she shifts around. "I'm worry‐ing," —her voice skips over the word, like a hiccup— "about something because of Stacy."
"Oh yeah? What did Stacy do?"
"She said her mom, um, her mom said she's getting a divorce. That Stacy won't see her dad again, and it'll just be her and her mom."
Eddie doesn't judge people much. He can't imagine caring about other people's divorces when Roan was born from a fling and pretty much left on his doorstep —circumstances don't determine your kid's happiness alone. He does worry for Stacy, and his poor empathetic little girl.
"That's terrible, bubby," Eddie placates, patting her back.
"It's– well, it's– I'm…" Roan huffs.
"Whatever you tell me is fine, promise. No grounding, no telling off."
"I know, daddy, it's just hard to say."
Eddie feels himself physically melt.
He leans back against the kitchen counter and shifts her against his stomach. His arms burn with the effort of keeping her secured to him, and he's not loving her sad tone —the quicker he finds out what's wrong, the better. He peeks over her head at you for hints.
You're uncomfortable, shifting from one foot to the other like your feet hurt.
"What?" he asks you.
You clear your throat. "I think she's worried about me. If something happened between us, she's worried she won't see me again."
Eddie would like to think after two years of loving his daughter, watching her grow, and all together being a cherished and irreplaceable part of her life and her support system, that you'd find it impossible to leave her. Even if you left Eddie, you wouldn't leave Ro. He knows that. But only two years… he knows you'd love Roan even if he screws things up, but he can't promise her that things would be the same, because they wouldn't be.
That's not what she's asking, though.
"What, you think you won't see Y/N anymore?' Eddie murmurs, rubbing her back.
"She's not my full mom," Roan whispers.
Eddie reaches past Roan to squeeze your elbow. "You know, that doesn't matter, honey. And after the wedding–"
"You call me mom for a reason, right?" you cut him off.
Roan lifts her head from Eddie's. "Yeah."
"Okay, so, say me and dad get married, and then by some impossibility we realise we can't stay married, will you love me less?"
"No," Roan says with a pout.
"I wouldn't love you any less, either. I didn't know I could love someone this much 'til I met you," you say, voice scratchy like you're talking past gravel. "So things would change, but not how much I love you. I'd still see you."
You sound tentative. Eddie's way less hesitant. "Of course you'd still see each other. Babe, if me and mom break up it'll be because I did something stupid, so you'd see her every time I tried to apologise." He grins at you. "How long do you think it would take you to forgive me?"
"Depends on what you did." You smile fondly. "Probably not long, Munson."
"I have a weird feeling we're gonna last."
Roan sniffles. "I just don't want mom to move away," she says.
You and Eddie have already spoken about this. Serious but not sombre, on your backs in bed. You're not just marrying me, Eddie'd said, terrified of how much he wanted you to say certain things, and how you might not say them at all. This isn't just a promise to me. I know how much I'm asking from you, it's not a small thing. I won't blame you if you can't say yes, but this is… she's my world.
I already said yes. And I knew what I was saying yes to, you'd replied, holding your hand up above you, the two of you staring in wonder at the ring on your marriage finger. I promise, Eds. I won't let either of you down.
"Where do you think I'm going, princess? Me and dad are so happy. I'm staying right here stuck to his hip for the rest of time, but only if you're gonna stick to mine." You duck your head to touch your noses together briefly. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Promise?"
"Promise you." He swears you're twisting your engagement ring, but he can't quite see. "Can I have her?" you ask.
"Sure. My noodle arms are about to snap anyway."
"Noodle arms," you repeat, stealing Ro from him smoothly. "Yeah, right."
He flexes appreciatively at your comment.
Roan snuggles up to your neck, little face in the curve of it, her arms curling around you. You hold her tight and bend back under her weight, an arm against her thighs and another behind the small of her back, hand twisted up to brush her curls.
"Love you," you say softly. You're smiling like you've got everything you ever wanted. "Maybe if me and daddy break up I can just take you with me."
"Yeah!" Roan says with a gasp.
Eddie rolls his eyes. "Whatever, girls. Neither of you can cook, you know that? Maybe tonight you guys can practise your new life together by not eating the dinner I'm gonna cook." Time to lighten the mood, lest Roan spend a special night lethargic.
You beam at him. "I already made dinner. Happy anniversary, handsome."
You exchanged gifts and kisses already that morning before work, but Eddie's happy to accept another quick kiss over Ro's shoulder. He dots one on his daughter's cheek to keep things fair.
"Lucky us, huh?" he says to Ro.
He's not strictly talking about dinner, and it's cheesy, but you light up like a Christmas tree. "Lucky me."

I've got this image in my head of very pregnant!AYW reader sitting outside with her feet in a kiddie pool, letting the older boys splash around and keep her cool on a hot day. Maybe a cooler full of frozen treats at her side.
I have had this one in my ask box forever because I wanted to write something I’d be happy with and I think I’m there lol. I hope it makes you happy as well 😘
Words: 1.4k

Of course. The August that you’re seven months pregnant is the hottest summer Hawkins has had in over fifty years. Of course.
Eddie could see how the heat was getting to you. Sweat would dot your forehead just moments after you’d step outside. Your ankles had swollen to almost double the size. It hadn’t escaped anyone’s notice that you were a little more irritable than usual as well. But your husband wasn’t sure what he could do to comfort you. Usually, his way of comforting you included wrapping you up in his arms but the one time he’d attempted to do that you’d given him a death glare that blazed hotter than the weather. He’d learned his lesson after that: no touching when the temperature is above a hundred degrees.
One early Saturday afternoon, you and Luke are eating lunch while Eddie and Ryan run a few errands. Luke had wanted to go too, but ever since you started your third trimester, Eddie didn’t like the idea of leaving you by yourself.
It’s quiet between you and your ten-year-old son when the back door bangs open, making you jump and swivel around in your seat–which was no easy task. Perspiration runs down Eddie’s forehead, Ryan’s own golden brown hair plastered to his forehead from the moisture. Patches of Ryan’s gray shirt are black and clinging to his skin from the sweat. If Eddie’s black Iron Maiden shirt weren’t so dark, you know you’d see the same thing on him. Despite how hot and sweaty they both look, they both have smiles on their faces and Eddie looks quite proud of himself.
“I f’ought oo were goin’ to da store,” you say around a mouth full of pasta salad.
“We did,” Eddie said, breaths labored.
“And we set up a surprise for you!” Ryan adds, his beaming grin stretching from ear to ear.
“And me?” Luke asks optimistically, craning his neck to look over at his father and brother.
“Actually, kind of,” Eddie says with a shrug. “Come on.” Your husband waves the both of you over towards the back door before remembering he should help you up out of the chair–even though you’re capable of doing it yourself.
The boys both run ahead of you as Eddie stays back with your waddling pace. It feels like no sooner than your bare foot hits the grass of the yard than sweat begins to break out along your hairline. You swear you’ll never complain about the winter being too cold again.
“It’s small,” you hear Luke say.
Your eyes catch on the short inflatable kiddie pool set up in the middle of the backyard, two white and blue striped lawn chairs set up beside it, and a large red cooler between them. The garden hose is hanging inside the pool, the green tube writhing like a snake as the water whooshes in to fill the empty space.
“Cause it’s a kiddie pool, duh,” Ryan replies to his brother.
“I thought,” Eddie starts, reaching up to rub your shoulders before catching himself, not wanting to make your discomfort worse, “you could sit out here with your feet in the nice cold water. Might help your ankles, too. And you know these two monkeys are always splashing so you’re bound to get caught in the crossfire.”
“Hey,” Luke protests, but Ryan nudges him with his elbow because they both know that their father is right.
“And…” Eddie takes your hand and gently leads you closer to the chairs, where he opens the cooler that’s nestled between them. Inside there are different flavors of ice pops, ice cream bars, and cold drinks, all enveloped in gallons of ice that have a pleasant chill wafting off them.
Words become trapped in your throat. Your wonderful husband did all of this for you just because he knows how the heat has been making you feel lately. And after you’ve been a pain in the ass. This would’ve made you emotional even if the hormones didn’t beat you to the punch.
“Eddie,” you say, all other speech cut off as your bottom lip begins to wobble.
“Uh oh,” Luke whispers.
“No, could be a good thing,” Ryan mumbles back quietly. He was slightly better at understanding the emotional aspect of hormones than his little brother.
“This is so sweet,” you say, turning to cup your husband’s face in your hands.
“You’ve been hard at work cooking that bun in the oven,” Eddie says with a shrug. “Oven needs some cooling down though, she’s getting overheated.”
“Ahem,” you hear from behind you. Ryan moves into your peripheral vision, and you turn your head to look at him, sliding your hands down to Eddie’s shoulders as you do. The eldest brother is clearly holding something behind his back, and you scrunch up your brow as you look at him.
“Whatcha got?” you ask.
Eddie huffs out a small chuckle and presses a kiss to your temple before saying, “Ryan found something at the store he says is on every ad for the beach.”
“You bought me sand? The ocean?” you tease the boy.
Ryan rolls his eyes, another reminder that he’s a preteen now.
“No,” he says. From behind him, Ryan brandishes a floppy hat, and he is certainly right—a woman is wearing one of those in every ad for the beach.
“Ryan, I love it!” you exclaim with a giggle. The grass crunches beneath your feet as you waddle over the few steps to the boy. He holds the straw hat out to you, a bright grin on his face at your happiness.
“You know,” you say as you accept the hat from him, “I’d bend down so you could put it on my head but then I wouldn’t be able to stand back up.”
“Like crowning a princess!” Luke adds as Ryan laughs.
“Well,” your husband says, coming up behind you, “it’s a good thing I’m taller than Ryan then, huh? Or we could’ve just made Luke help you back up.”
Eddie plucks the hat from your grasp, the straw scratching lightly against your fingertips as he pulls it away. He steps in front of you, and you keep your head level, only raising your eyes to watch Eddie’s pale, toned arms lift to place the floppy hat on top of your head gently.
“Your Highness,” Eddie says, bowing his head. Your giggle makes Eddie grin as he gestures towards the lawn chairs. “Your throne awaits.”
Twenty minutes later it’s as if the summer heat were merely an annoying insect that you’re only somewhat aware of. Even though the chill water of the miniature pool only goes up to midcalf, sloshes of water have hit you all the way up to your neck. The cool beads of moisture feel like heaven as they meander down your red tank top, though. The denim shorts you’re wearing will weigh a ton later since the boys’ splashing has gotten them so wet, but Eddie’s such a pro at taking your clothes off that he could use a little challenge this time.
Luke and Ryan manage to find games to play in the small pool—after Luke’s failed attempt at Marco Polo, anyway. Toy boats glide through the water, a few of them on the grass from flying overboard. The two boys shout but they’re outside and having fun, and it’s nice to hear.
The sound of the back door slamming shut reaches you as you tilt your head back, protected from the sun by Ryan’s thoughtful gift and the sunglasses you grabbed when you got changed. Eyes closed, you listen to footsteps in the grass as Eddie walks your way from the house. They come to a stop and you sense as he crouches down next to you. Lazily, you loll your head to the side and crack your eyes open.
“How’re my girls?” Eddie asks, placing his right hand over the soaked red shirt covering your baby bump.
“Mmm, good,” you hum. “She’s very happy you bought strawberry shortcake bars.”
“I’m glad she liked them,” Eddie says with a chuckle. “What about you, princess? How do you feel?”
You pretend to consider his question for a moment before speaking.
“Kiss me?”
You pucker your lips and there’s no hesitation as your husband leans in and gently presses his own against yours.
“Perfect. Now I’m perfect.”

I miss eddie so much too. can i request "pregnancy" for the 1 word blurb. ❤️❤️❤️
(500 words) just some fluffiness. incorporated it into my little "gone fishing" world as a blurb from when r is pregnant, but can be read separately. e.m. x pregnant!afab!reader.
-
From the moment you announce your pregnancy, Eddie picks up a new habit of making sure you never lift a finger.
Answering the door, even for something as menial as grabbing the pizza from the delivery driver. Unloading groceries from the supermarket. Lifting absolutely anything. It’s endearing and infuriating (because you insist you’re more than capable of caring for yourself)—absolutely Eddie, and immediately added to the list of things you love about him.
From the way he never closes the kitchen cabinets, to him forgetting to put the toilet seat down, to never separating his light clothing from the darks, his need to always remove certain colors out of his M&M package because he insists different shades taste differently, his pension for never quite managing to get his clothes fully into the laundry bin (he tries, at least; you'll give him that).
He’s Eddie Munson, perfectly imperfect.
The love of your life, your husband, and soon to be father of the baby growing within you.
From high school sweethearts with nothing but dreams, to twenty-somethings with a home they call their own, full of love and light—and now this little room down the hall for sweet little James Aragorn Munson, with ten little fingers and ten little toes (Eddie reminds everyone he comes across at any chance this).
“You really shouldn’t be painting,” he admonishes, fingers speckled with paint.
A streak of blue marks his cheek. A gash of bright color along the stubble that has started to grow in along his jawline. He pads across the bedroom to cup the swell of your belly, only newly grown in now.
If there’s one thing you know to be true about Edward Munson…it’s his constant need to be touching you. Hands, fingers, cheeks, thighs, hips—and now, it’s the small protrusion of your midsection, brought about by the love between the two of you, hewn into a little one you can’t help but excitedly count down the days to meeting.
“Wasn’t going to paint. Just wanted to see what you might want for dinner.” You lean into his embrace, mindful of the still-wet, blue patches on his shirt, and kiss him softly. Sweetly. “Nancy and Steve will be here with the kids soon. Already decided on making them macaroni and cheese. I could make you extra.”
“For me or for the baby?”
It’s what you’ve been saying for weeks.
Because suddenly all the things he likes are the things you're craving now that you're expecting his son.
That early morning run for french fries? For him, but really for the baby. That extra jar of pickles at the store? For him, because you know he likes them, but since you’ve found out you’re pregnant...for the baby. And now, macaroni and cheese?
Your face presses into his neck, cheek flush with his collar bone. An arm slides around your hip, tugging you closer against him as you giggle, “What if I said it’s for the baby?”
“Give me five minutes so I can finish up and I’ll make it the way you like it,” he says, brushing another kiss against your brow.

Rosie - Chapter 2
Summary: Rosie’s getting bigger, and she’s decided it’s time to learn how to put one knee in front of the other, and begin to crawl.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x reader, dad!eddie
Word count: 2,930
Warnings: tooth rotting fluff, established relationship, children, worries about child development, talks of second child, sexual indications but nothing is explicit, lots of cuteness, not beta read, Eddie is destined to be a girl dad istg
AN: Had this one just looming open on my docs for a while, since idk I was worried about posting for some reason? Maybe the imposter syndrome hit me. But I moved bits around, added and took away certain stuff, and I think (?) I’m happy with it? Anyway, hope you like it! This is a continuation of my Rosie fic; you can find the first one here!
Now that Rosie was sleeping through the night, things fell into a comfortable routine. A promotion at the music shop meant that Eddie was able to earn enough for you to take less work at the diner, now only a couple of shifts in the evenings while he worked Monday through Friday. Coming home in time for you all to to be together as a family, the weekends free for days out or lazy days on the couch.
Your daughter was growing up so fast, now nine months old and already showing the signs that she’d begin to crawl any day. You’d spent God knows how long a couple of feet away from her as she lay on her tummy, cooing and holding out your hands as you encouraged her to start moving. But just like her Dad, she could be stubborn, deciding to do things in her own time. You were kneeled in front of her when you heard Eddie come home, her beloved dragon stuffed toy in your hands as you tried to inspire her to move of her own free will. Smiling when her head turned towards the archway that led to the hallway, listening to Eddie shuffle around as he took his shoes off.
“I’m home!” he called out, turning the corner and grinning when he saw the both of you. Placing the white plastic bag he held on the couch, he gasped in delight as he took a few steps to scoop up his little one and nestle her in his arms. “Hey there, princess,” he cooed, peppering her little cheeks with kisses in the way that never failed to make her squeal in delight. “Ya missed me?”
Her tiny fingers found their way into his long hair, gently tugging as she squirmed to look up at him. It always made your heart warm to see the two people you loved most interact with each other, the adoration Eddie had for her clearly visible in his eyes as he looked down at her.
His attention was turned to you as you got up off the floor, taking the few steps to press a kiss to your lips. “Hiya sweetheart,” he murmured, shifting Rosie in his arms so a hand was free to come up and tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Hey you,” you grinned, wrapping your arms around his middle as he looped one of his own over your shoulders. “How was work today?”
“Same as usual,” he answered, letting you go after giving you a little squeeze and one final kiss to your temple before motioning to the bag. “Managed to drop by family video on the way home.”
You smiled as you picked it up, pulling out the couple of VHS boxes to get a good look at his choices. Some were for you and him to enjoy, but you couldn’t help the relieved sigh fall from your lips as you noticed the bright pink box with the cute characters from Moon Dreamers on the front. Though the cartoons were only background noise to her while she played, you noticed that she seemed to enjoy some more than others. “They finally got it.”
“Yup. Steve managed to snag it as soon as it came back,” he smirked, looking down at Rosie as he gently bounced her. “Because we both know that if Mommy had to watch one more episode of Muppet Babies her head would explode,” he crooned in his softly spoken baby talk, each word laced with tenderness. Though she didn’t understand a word of what he said, she still smiled like it was the best thing she’d ever heard.
You chuckled as you put the tapes away on the shelf by the TV, before heading into the kitchen to get a start on dinner. “I think if I have to hear that theme song any time soon, I’m actually gonna lose it.”
“Don’t worry sweetheart. I’ll make sure Steve knows that there’s a household ban on all Muppet related videos for the next couple of months,” he chuckled, lounging back on the sofa with his head resting on the arm and pulling his legs up to rest his baby girl on his thighs. As you chopped up vegetables, you kept looking over to watch them through the archway that connected the rooms, fondness blooming in your chest as he softly spoke to her about his day. Answering her nonsensical babbles with “I know, right?” and “that’s what I said!” as he grinned. Deciding after a while that pretending to eat her toes was a far more interesting endeavour, making her squeal with delight as her adorable laughter filled the living room.
With everything in the oven or simmering on the stove, you headed back to sit down and relax for a little bit. Eddie shifted so he sat beside you, Rosie happy to sit in his lap as his arm came to rest over your shoulders. The few minutes were filled but nothing but blissful silence, save for the game show that you were both only sort of paying attention to. You were just happy to have Eddie’s fingers draw absentminded patterns on the skin of your lower back, your head on his shoulder and letting your eyes close as your eyes fluttered shut and you let out a long sigh through your nose. Having a child and a home was one of your lifelong dreams. Didn’t mean that it wasn’t tiring at times.
“Almost forgot to ask how your day was,” he finally whispered as he looked down at you, figuring you would appreciate some time to shut your eyes but also knowing full well that you wouldn’t be too happy if dinner got burnt.
“Was good,” you murmured as you curled further into his side, forcing your eyes to open. “Managed to get some laundry done, and spent a little while trying to get her to crawl. She’s nearly there, but it seems she’s content enough with sticking in one spot for now.”
“She’ll get the hang of it,” he said softly, knowing that you sometimes worried about her development. “Sometimes it just takes some kids a little longer than others.”
“I know,” you sighed, a small smile on your face as you reached out to gently smooth out her soft brown curls. “Guess it’s good that she isn’t moving about for a little while longer. God knows how much mischief she’s gonna get into when she finally gets going.”
Eddie let out a scandalised gasp as he looked down at Rosie, wiggling his fingers that she hand her tiny hands wrapped around. “My little girl? Trouble? Never.” She looked up at him to find the source of the noise, large brown eyes that identical to his crinkling as she smiled.
“Hmm, you just better pray she won’t take after you when she’s a teenager,” you teased as you got up to check on the food.
He laughed, shaking his head as he followed behind and settled Rosie down in her high chair. “No idea what you’re talking about. I was the poster boy for innocence and virtue.”
“Tell that to my Mom’s back porch that you singed when you dropped your joint on it,” you smirked, remembering the night when you’d both got quite drunk and were too busy making out to notice the small burn that permanently blackened the dried out floorboard.
“If I remember correctly, we were sharing it,” he countered, opening the fridge to grab a can of soda. Placing it on the counter as he came behind you, he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close to his chest as his lips pressed into the crook of your neck. “Can still remember the hickeys you gave me that night, too.”
“Ah, to be young again,” you sighed wistfully, your eyes flickering over to check that Rosie was still okay. She seemed pretty content to babble to herself for now, though you knew any time now she was going to start wanting to be fed. “Feels like a lifetime ago now we’ve got a little one of our own.”
“Yeah,” he sighed, the sound full of blissful feeling as he rested his chin against your shoulder. “Wouldn’t trade it for the world, though.”
“Neither would I,” you whispered, turning your head to kiss his cheek. “Would always make the choice to nearly land on my ass when I slipped on those wet leaves.”
He let out a small hum, nuzzling his nose into your shoulder. “And I’d make the choice to catch you.” His tone grew quiet as he lifted his head, lips by the shell of your ear as he pulled you closer. “And for the record, I totally wouldn’t object if you still wanted to give me hickeys.”
“Behave yourself Munson,” you laughed, playfully swatting his hands as he chuckled and pulled away to start preparing Rosie’s food.
Now you were getting the hang of life with a small child, dinner times went a lot smoother. Soda forgotten about on the side, you’d grab a glass and pour it for Eddie while he sat down to feed your daughter. You’d serve up dinner, and he’d grown used to taking mouthfuls whenever she was preoccupied or still finishing the last spoonful. At first, you had offered to do it, but he simply shook his head and smiled as he insisted it was fine. You guessed it was his way of getting more bonding time with her, and you weren’t going to get in their way any time soon. Eventually Rosie would make grabby hands for the spoon, Eddie handing it to her so he could finish up eating. Sure, sometimes errant bits of food would end up flying everywhere when she found it amusing to pick up the bowl and smack it against her tray. But you could always clean up later, and it kept her happy.
Eddie was the one to take her upstairs to get the bedtime routine started, while you cleaned up the kitchen. If you strained your ears as you put away the dishes, you could hear Eddie’s voice coming from her bedroom as he read her another chapter of ‘The Colour of Magic’. It wasn’t like she could even understand it, but Eddie had insisted on “starting her off young.” She just seemed thoroughly entertained with his dramatics whenever he voiced the characters and acted out the scenes with vigour. By the time all the counters were wiped down and you could finally collapse onto the couch, Eddie came back down to join you with an exaggerated groan as he flopped beside you.
“Out like a light,” he sighed, a hand pulled over his face as he stifled a yawn.
“Sound’s like someone’s ready to join her,” you noted with a raised eyebrow, cuddling into his side as his arms automatically pulled you in close. “Wanna go to bed?”
A laugh rumbled through his chest as his eyebrows raised, his expression turning from tired to amused. “Why sweetheart, are you trying to seduce me?”
“As if it would be difficult to do that,” you countered, resting your chin on his shoulder as a soft smile graced your features.
He mocked an outrage gasp, though the upturned corners of his mouth betrayed him. A devilish grin slowly spreading over his countenance as you were pushed onto the couch, onto your back and making a soft yelp tumble from your lips. Feeling his weight come to rest on you and his mouth playfully attack your neck as he slotted himself between your thighs. You broke out into giggles, wriggling underneath him. “Eddie,” you whined with a soft smile, your hands coming to rest on his shoulder blades. “C’mon, you got work in the morning.”
“The night’s still young,” he murmured against your skin. “Don’t you wanna fool around a little?”
“First of all, ‘fool around’? What are we, seventeen?” you grinned, trying to keep your voice even when his ministrations were starting to get you hot and bothered. Eddie had figured out a long time ago exactly what made you tick, and it never failed to make your eyes flutter shut when he laved his tongue on the spot just under your ear. “S-second of all, last time we did this on the couch we ended up with a little surprise nine months later.”
His head lifted to look at you, his lopsided smile coming into view. “Would it really be a bad thing if it happened again?”
Your eyebrows jumped up as you chuckled. “We’ve only just managed to get Rosie to sleep through the night. You really want two screaming babies to deal with?”
He bit his lip as he shrugged. “Alright, maybe not yet. But when she’s a little older? Give her a little brother and sister to play with?”
You’d always known Eddie would love to have more than one. While you weren’t particularly fussed either way – your daughter was plenty to keep you on your toes with – you wouldn’t be against it, if you just so happened to fall pregnant again. It might even be pretty wonderful.
You finally nodded as you leaned up to lock your lips with his own. A soft kiss, full of intimacy. Feeling his weight shift onto one arm as a hand came up to thread through your hair. You pulled away with a soft smile. “Maybe. We’ll see what happens when she’s old enough to talk in full sentences.”
You laughed at his little victory cry, turning into a soft moan as his mouth attacked your name again. Sure, you weren’t ready for another little one yet. But it didn’t mean that that you were immune to Eddie’s charms. Especially when he made you feel the way that you were feeling now.
~
With you lounging on the couch as you watched them play on the floor together, Eddie sat cross legged on the rug in front of his baby girl as he made her stuffed dragon ‘walk’ across the floor towards her. Gently booping the top of her head with the soft nose and pulling away to repeat the process all over again. You remembered the day that the boys from Hellfire got it for her as a group gift, and how over the moon they were when you reported back that it was her favourite toy. You still had the little handmade card it came with, the words ‘to our future party member’ and a drawn picture of a very adorable cartoon mindflayer on the front with all their names on the inside.
“Babe,” Eddie whispered, causing you to look away from the TV show you were half watching to see what he was looking at. You swore Rosie wasn’t that close to him just a moment ago. “C’mon Rosie Posie, you can do it,” he gently cooed, shuffling a little further back and holding out the dragon just out of her reach.
Her tiny face scrunched up in concentration little tongue poking out of her mouth as she shakily got herself up on her hands and knees to push herself forward just a little. You gasped as you sat up, feeling overjoyed that she was finally doing it. It was uncoordinated, and she only moved a tiny amount at a time. But she was finally crawling.
“Such a clever girl,” you squealed, resisting the temptation to pick her up as she worked herself to finally reach Eddie. When you looked up at him, you could see that he was bursting with adoration and pride as his little girl finally managed to reach out a hand and grasp her teddy. You could see how his eyes shimmered with tears as he picked her up and held her above his head.
“That’s my girl,” he grinned, bringing her to his chest and hugging an arm under her legs with his hand on her lower back to support her. Smothering her little face in kisses as he sniffled. “My beautiful, clever little girl.”
She seemed to be more interested in her toy, little face pouting until Eddie shifted his position to sit with his back leaned up against the couch so he could be close to you. Settling her in his lap and nestling the little dragon close to her. You couldn’t stop smiling as you leaned down to rest your forehead on his, his head tipped back as he gazed up at you.
“She finally did it,” you whispered, giggling as his hand came up to rest against your cheek. Smoothing the pad of his thumb just under your eye.
“Told you she would,” he murmured, leaning up for a kiss that you happily gave. He looked back down at her, blissful in the knowledge he was surrounded by love. The girl that he’d chose to settle down and start a family with behind him, her hands smoothing up and down his shoulders as she pressed kisses to the top of his head. And the little one they both created, staring up at him with eyes the exact same as his own and smiling at him. Like he said before dinner, he wouldn’t change it for the world. If he had to go through all the hell that he’d been subjected to, with the shit with his parents and the bullying and the unrelenting horrors that he almost fell victim to, he would do it all again with a smile on his face if it meant he’d end up in this exact moment.

Note: Yes i made an error for part 15 and posted it on my main and not on this account. You saw nothing, proceed as normal.....
[ 1.5k]
You sat there dumbfounded, taking in their every word. Both girls became more relaxed once you were up in the hotel room, Hallie sprouting out against the couch, lying down with three quarters of her limbs dangling off the edge. Annie on the other hand, sat on the floor with her legs neatly crossed together.
“You– you both decided that this was the best possible way to handle the situation? By secretly switching identities!?” You said, your voice on the verge of screaming.
You wanted to be calm and understanding, but it was near impossible at this stage.
“I like to think we did a good job at it, no?” Hallie laughed.
Annie rolled her eyes, “We just wanted some time. Hallie wanted to spend time with you, and I had such a great time with dad–”
“He– he’s here isn’t he? He’s in new York?” The words left your mouth so quickly that you weren’t sure of what emotion you were feeling. The sheer thought of being so close to Eddie and not even knowing it…. Well you didn’t know what to think about it.
“Yeah, he saw you at the – oh shit. Shit shit shit…” Hallie jumped up, rushing over the the large window of the living space. “Fuck– I totally forgot about him.”
Just as you were about to scold her for using such foul language, her words hit you like a brick wall.
“He saw me?! Y– You girls set all this up, the competition… New York… all so what? We can switch you back in the most awkward conversation in history?”
Hallie shrugged her shoulders and continued to look out the window for any possible sign of her father.
Annie started to feel guilty, “Well… we kinda wondering if perhaps seeing each other again, after so long… might be good for the two of you. As a form of closure, per-say.”
“Girls, your father made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with me. And I’m sorry that it has made life unconventional for the two of you, but–” your composure started to break, all these years of built up regret and pain finally making its way to the surface. “Hallie, Martin will take you back to E– your father, Annie, we will leave in the morning. I cannot face that man again.”
The girls looked up at you in shock, screaming “No!”
They were rambling over each other. Their words tangling into complete nonsense and loud.
“One at a time!” You screamed over them. “Honestly, girls…. Why did you think this would be a good idea?”
“Dad thought it was you who didn’t want anything to do with him!” Hallie yelled, frantically trying to search for the right words. “It– we– we think it was Meredith, Dad’s lawyer. She clearly kept information from the two of you…. Did you ever give Dad your address?”
You thought back to the early days of the separation, before the divorce papers even got sent out. “I– his lawyer approached me first, and I gave her my contact details. I–”
The memories all faded together, the pain making you suppress the agony and embarrassment. The entire process was purely through Eddie’s lawyer, where in reality you have never spoken to him since that night you walked out with Annie in your arms.
“I gave it to the lawyer.” You said again, repeating your words softly.
“Exactly! And I know dad asked her to send you our new address in California– I mean, I still remember his reaction when he brought the house… he thought you would have loved it!” Hallie said.
“I never got any information about where to find him, or if he even–” You couldn’t form a complete sentence, uncertainty rising back through your mind. “Are you telling me, that he was waiting for me to contact him?”
Both girls nodded, “Just like you were waiting for him.”
All these years of suffering were from a miscommunication. A stupid miscommunication that was starting to make your head spin.
“Why– why his lawyer keep the information from him? Why did they encourage him to send the blank divorce papers without letting him talk to me at all?” You said, rising to your feet to pace around the room.
“Um– you may not like the answer to that.” Hallie said softly, concerned for how you would handle the truth.
Annie sighed, “Please, she’s not going to be a problem anymore. You should’ve seen Dad today, he’s totally had enough of her– I am certain she will be out of the picture.”
“Her? Who?” You asked. “Was– was he seeing someone?”
Your voice broke trying to get the words out. You knew that there was a possibility that Eddie had moved on, but you always got jealous at the thought. Imagining someone else kissing him, and loving him. Especially now, especially after learning that all this time apart didn’t have to play out this way.
“Wait, how is that connected to my question on his lawyer? You know– I should fucking sue the bitch, honestly, withholding information from the client on the location of his daughter?!”
Hallie giggled at hearing you swear, “Hm, that’ll be quite entertaining actually. But besides the point, Meredith may no longer be an issue.”
Meredith? His lawyer…. Hearing her name again made you think about what she was like during the divorce, you only saw her once or twice when she approached your lawyers. The mean and judgmental facial expression on her face was implanted in your mind for months, the way her blonde hair was curled so perfectly while you were a wreck during the hardest moments of your life. She– she was the woman who yelled at Hallie earlier.
“Girls… why was your father’s lawyer here at the festival?” You asked them. “She– she was the woman who he was seeing, wasn’t she?”
Annie nodded and opened her mouth to speak, but in your state of shock you started to ramble.
“Oh my god. That’s why he didn’t bother reaching out?! He moved on to his lawyer straight away.”
“No!” Hallie groaned, frustratedly. “NO they only got together once we were at summer camp, but– we do think that she purposely pinned you and Dad against each other. Making you both think the other wanted nothing to do with them, so that… she could get dad to herself.”
“Regardless, your father sent the divorce papers to me.” You said, trying to find some rational clarity.
“Actually, Dad thought you sent it to him. His copy was already signed when he got it…. And you just said the ones sent to you were blank….” Annie said. “Meredith initiated the divorce. God, she was so horrible. She threatened to send me away just like she sent you away, she pretty much confirmed it…”
You were no longer a scared young single mother. You were no longer scared of facing the world on your own. Although you had no proof of everything your daughters had said, you wanted to trust your gut feeling. But you weren’t alone this time; you had two determined little girls and a dear friend with you.
You took out your phone and called Martin.
“Hello, where did you go to?” He asked happily, you could hear the commotion of the festival still going on in the background.
“Hey, we are back up at the hotel room. And we kind of have a situation. I’m going to need you to find a certain… someone for me, and keep her occupied.” You said, trying to hide your amusement as you saw your daughters grin wickedly at your words.
“What kind of situation?” He asked.
“What do you remember about the woman who was– his lawyer?”
If it was true that she tampered with your life, then you were going to find Eddie on your own terms. Yes the girls may have helped initiate the plan, but you were their mother and sometimes the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐈 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞
(dad!eddie x mom!reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Eddie has to shower before he can hold his impatient baby. She's having none of it.
a/n: i was attacked by yet ANOTHER cute baby tiktok so here we are with a little bit of grease monkey!eddie and another little drabble. set in the early days of the pennyverse. and yes, i've used this gif before but he's dead so i'm running out of them. mistakes might be fixed later, i dont know :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Are these your little fingers?” You asked your baby, tone saturated in honey and affection as you held the chunky palm in question, lips pressed to her pudgy fingertips.
Despite your aversion to it prior to your pregnancy, you’d inevitably developed a baby voice when Penny had come into the world and you couldn’t be blamed. Not when she was all squish, delicate cheeks holding so much chub they bulged, and rolls decorated her little limbs. She was a glutton, always demanding your milk and you couldn’t deny her; those big, gorgeous eyes she’d inherited from her father made it nearly impossible to, even when the wetness welling up in them were completely alligator tears. And those curls.
Regardless of taming them with some water, a brush and maybe some vaseline, they ended up wild, flying about or mussed and matted to her head with sweat because your baby was a little heater when she slept and napped. Just like her daddy.
Your smile widened in size when you heard the sound of keys slotting into place at the front door, the lock mechanism giving away. It tripled when you realized your baby also recognized the sound, head turning to stare at the door as she bobbed in place, thick legs squatting and then popping back up as you held her by her waist with your other hand, assisting her with standing.
The moment Eddie opened the door and came into view she began cooing and squealing in excitement, mouth parting in a wide smile as drool raced down from the corner of her mouth.
You laughed, and so did Eddie as he heard his baby welcoming him home.
“You excited to see me, sweet pea?” He cooed right back, walking over to squat in front of the two of you, eyes raking over you momentarily in appreciation before focusing on the little one in your arms.
She let out another long coo that ended on an airy sigh, pulling her hand from your grasp to reach both of her pudgy ones out to him, practically begging him to hold her as she began wiggling in your arms.
Eddie’s head tilted, lips curling into the most tender smile as he stared down at her with nothing but love swimming in those eyes he’d shared with her.
“Daddy missed you and mommy so much.” He whispered, a hand reaching out, almost close enough to caress her soft cheek but it hesitated before he could touch her. His rough, grease covered finger was a stark contrast to her clean, smooth skin. Clearly, you’d given her a bath before he got home because her mouth and cheeks were usually covered in the food you were starting to offer her (sometimes baby food, but mostly bits of your food because she wouldn’t accept any offerings of mushed up veggies and fruits if there was something else on your plate, hence why your diet had been pretty bland and not at all a result of the tight budget your maternity leave left you on).
The rest of his hands were no better, palms stained, streaks all over his arms as a result of shucking the top half of the monkey suit and rolling up his sleeves at the garage.
There were even a few streaks of grease and maybe oil on his face and neck. Your husband smelled more so of tires than he had the spicy cologne that surrounded you when he’d kissed you goodbye in bed this morning.
  And he knew it.
Penny didn’t let that stop her, still eagerly reaching out for him as she grunted to try and provoke him in swooping her up into his embrace.
“As soon as daddy’s clean, okay? I’ll pick you up and my sweet girl can give me all the cuddles she wants.” He promised, hands on his knees before he stood back up, leaning over her to give you a sweaty, greasy oh so sweet and firm press of the lips kiss before he swiveled around and disappeared into the small bathroom as quickly as he could to be out of hearing range when Penny began whimpering at his absence.
You heard the shower start running at the exact moment she began to cry and you offered a sympathetic whine of your own as you adjusted your grip on her, bringing Penny up to your chest, your cheek smushed against her more plump one.
“Shhh…it’s okay, my love. Daddy’s just showering. He’ll be back.” You stood up, hitching Penny on your hip as you walked to the entrance of the small hallway so the bathroom door was visible to her. Eddie’s humming floated out from underneath the crack of it.
Penny was Eddie’s daughter, alright, full of dramatics as her breathing remained heavy, chest rising and falling quickly with the hitches in her breath as a chunky fist gripped onto your blouse, lower lip curling out and wobbling. She didn’t seem satisfied with your explanation but that didn’t worry you. If Penny was awake when Eddie left for work in the morning, she’d start bawling.
The first couple of times she’d started reacting to his departure, he’d ended up full of guilt and late to work. It still wasn’t easy for him, even after you’d finally convinced him she’d have the same reaction whether he left in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Regardless of the time, she was going to be upset that she wouldn’t be able to see her daddy, probably convinced in her little baby mind that he’d abandoned her (he’d nearly quit the shop when you’d phrased it like that) but he’d always come home to her—and you—and that’s what mattered.
You were positive she’d start yelling and shrieking when it came time for you to go back to work, too. She was just a baby, so she was being a baby.
You carried your huffing and puffing daughter back to the living room, placing her down on the carpet in front of some toys she had been playing with earlier in the day. Maybe they’d distract her.
  Wrong.
She sat on the carpet, chunky legs strewn out for just a few seconds before she was moving forward onto her belly and propping herself up. Then she was off, crawling as fast as she could towards the hallway while breathing heavily with exhilaration. You trailed after her, amused at how stubborn she was when she stopped directly in front of the bathroom door, propping herself up on her bottom.
You watched Penny reach out with shaky palms, pressing them gently against the door. It looked like they were feeling around it before she began slapping them against it as hard as she could as she yelled her baby babble, no doubt demanding her daddy open the door, pick her up and love her right now.
Giggles were muffled into your palm, as she kept up with it.
Eventually, maybe when she realized that wasn’t working, Penny leaned over, wiggling around until she was on her tummy and the side of her head was resting on the carpet. You realized she was trying to look under the door for him and your heart clenched, hand flying over your chest as if you could grasp the organ.
You expected her to sit back up and go back to smacking the door but she remained there, a stubby finger absentmindedly trailing through the carpet as she stared through the thin crack, warm bathroom light and Eddie’s voice flooding out from underneath to comfort her as she waited.
Picking her up had crossed your mind, and so did the idea of how loudly she’d probably start screaming and crying if you did.
The two of you didn’t have to wait for long, the shower shut off and you could hear the sounds of the shower curtain rings scraping against the rod as Eddie pulled them back.
Panic briefly filled your chest as you realized Eddie probably wasn’t expecting his baby to be lying on the floor directly outside of the bathroom—he’d step on her, so you called out, “Heads up, Eddie, you’ve got a visitor.”
You didn’t hear a response, but a few moments later, the door opened to reveal your husband. Water droplets slipped down his neck and chest. He had one towel—that had definitely seen better days—wrapped around his waist and another (yours) he was using to scrunch up his sopping wet curls to dry them.
Eddie had heard you, shooting you a smirk before he addressed the baby beaming up at him, “Shower’s free if you wanna hop in, stinky.”
Penny had no idea what he was saying, it didn’t matter anyways because he said it in the same voice he used when he gave her kisses and held her to his chest so she was reaching up for him and he finally reached down—with clean hands—grasping her sides before she was hoisted into his arms. Penny wasted no time, mouth parting wide to mouth aggressively at his face and chin while she shook her head and wiggled about.
  She was giving him kisses.
Or trying to eat him, she had little bursts of energy where she’d do that—attack you out of nowhere while you held her causing the both of you to break out laughing.
Eddie let her get it all out, and when she cooed, resting her cheek on his shoulder, he retaliated. Her cheeks and little neck rolls were smattered in his smacking kisses as she squealed and shrieked and wiggled but there was no escaping her daddy’s clutches now that she was finally in them.
When every inch of her available to him had been kissed, he turned towards you and you suddenly found yourself victim to two sets of identical crinkly brown eyes. A deep chuckle rumbled from Eddie as he padded over to where you stood, mischievous smirk making another appearance.
  “Mommy’s turn.”

"He's coming over!" Your daughter Julie raced down the stairs yelling out to you.
Eddie looked up from his phone with his reading glasses hanging off his nose. "Who's coming over? He?"
You saw him looking towards you and then back at your daughter. She just turned eighteen a few months ago. She was born on July tenth. Which was also the birthday of Ronnie James Dio. Something Eddie never stopped bragging about saying it's "the most metalest thing ever."
He fell in love all over again the moment she was born. She was glued to his hip. Anywhere he went, she went. If he was eating, so was she. If Eddie got a tattoo, then he was buying her one out of the bubble gum machine for her to match.
He couldn't stand watching her grow up. Seeing her go from this tiny little thing to a young woman was difficult on you both. She had his eyes and dimples along with his sarcasm.
"Oh, uhh, her boyfriend Eddie, remember he's coming for dinner." You reminded him while trying to keep things calm.
"Boyfriend?" He repeated.
Julie rolled her eyes. " Yeah dad boyfriend you know the guy I've been telling you and mom about for like the last two months."
Eddie didn't say a word back. He knew he couldn't stop her from dating. He actually didn't hate the idea of her dating. He hated the idea of some guy hurting her.
That's all it really came down to. He's tried so hard to shield her from all the bad in the world. But you've helped him realize that's impossible, and he needs to just let her learn.
Once your daughter left for the day, you sat with your husband. You wanted to take his mind off of things and just help him relax. He already possibly has high blood pressure. You didn't want to make it worse.
"You wanna go out back and work on your tomatoes? " You got up and started massaging his shoulders.
He smiled and took off his glasses. "I actually gotta tune up my bike, but maybe tomorrow, sweetheart."
"Are you okay?" You leaned down by his ear.
"I'm fine-- I'll be fine." He reassured you. You turned your head and gave him a little kiss to his cheek.
He was still as handsome as the first time you saw him. His eyes have the prettiest crinkles from all of the years of laughing. His smile lines are visible under his stubble. His hair is starting to finally grey in certain parts. You've been together since you were practically kids.
You and him fell in love the millisecond you laid eyes on each other. Your parents hated him at first. They tried so hard to keep you two apart, but you weren't having it. Nothing was going to keep Eddie away from you.
He tried so hard to win your parents over, mainly your dad. Since your mom softened up when she got to know him better. Your dad was a different story. Your dad didn't like his look.
The tattoos, hair, and music he was strictly against. Eddie was used to being treated like that. He was used to people judging him before they really knew him. That doesn't mean he still didn't try to get your father's approval because he did. All the time, with little to no luck.
You noticed Eddie had been in his garage all day. He said he had to give his bike a quick tune-up, but that usually only takes a few hours. He's been out there since this morning. You look at the clock, and it's now going on 4 pm. Julie has been home now for just an hour or so. She wanted to get ready in time to introduce you to her boyfriend.
You know he's nervous about meeting Julie's boyfriend. He doesn't want to seem like some weird overbearing parent. This is her first serious relationship, it seems like. Eddie wants to be protective, but he doesn't want to scare the guy off. He doesn't want your daughter to hate him.
A loud knocking knocking at the front door tells you he's here. Before you could even leave the kitchen to answer it, Eddie somehow is already there.
He swings open the door and is met with a guy not much taller than him. He has short dark hair with a denim vest similar to his old one. Various pins and patches littered all over it. He was wearing an old Slayer shirt underneath with black boots.
Eddie eyed him curiously. "Whooo are you?"
"Oh, I'm um, Noah...Julie's boyfriend." He held out to his to shake Eddie's. His other hand held some flowers in it.
Foot steps come running up next to them both, and it took Eddie a moment to process who they belonged to.
"Dad, this is Noah." Julie took his hand and brought him inside.
"Right-nice to meet you." He finally shook his hand back as he walked past him.
Eddie was stunned. The second he saw him, he got instant flashbacks of when he was younger going to meet your parents for the first time. He wanted to hate the guy. He wants to be this tough, hard ass to him. But now he can't bring himself to do any of that.
"Eddie, come help me with dinner." You whispered.
"Yeah - Yeah, okay, I'm coming." He shook his head and smiled to himself.
"He bought me flowers." You pointed at the vase holding the bouquet.
"So i buy you flowers all the time." Eddie shrugged, still trying to keep up the facade that he doesn't like the guy.
He grabbed a knife and helped cut up some onions. He looked out the window in front of him and watched your daughter and her boyfriend outside. You stopped what you were doing to focus on them, too. You saw how Eddie's eyes had softened when Noah put a little buttercup flower behind her ear.
You and him instantly had memories flooding in from your earlier years as a couple. Where Eddie would find a pretty flower and put it behind your ear. Or how he would lay with you for hours looking up at the stars. You could see he was getting a little emotional about it. More memories of picnics together in the back of his van.
"You gonna cut those onions or keep zoning out?" You nudged him.
"Sorry, I'm ju- I'm just thinking." He spoke quietly.
You went over to him and rubbed his back. "About?"
"I'm supposed to be a dick head to him, but I can't bring myself to be that way" Eddie kept looking out the window, watching Noah with your daughter.
"Who said you had to be that way?" You looked out to where he was.
He shook his head. "No one... I'm just being over dramatic like usual."
After dinner was over. Noah and Julie were sitting on the couch together while Eddie was sitting in his chair. You were busy getting dessert ready for everyone.
"Hey dad, did I tell you Noah is in a band." Julie giggled.
Eddies face lit up. "No, you didn't. do you play?"
"Uhh, well, I used to drum, but now I sing." Noah informed him. He acted a little shy to even have it brought up so suddenly. He felt put on the spot.
He nods "I used to be in a band too."
"Really?" Noah moved a little closer towards Eddie leaving Julie behind at the other end of the couch.
"Yep, I used to play guitar and sing, actually." Eddie smiled and looked proud to be talking about his former band days again.
"I have some old stuff in my garage where my band "toured" for a bit and my old gear." He pointed behind him.
"Can we check it out?" Noah looked like a kid in a candy store when Eddie mentioned his old gear.
"Follow me," He grunted while getting out of his chair. His knees popped as he stood up. Years of hard work finally taking its toll on his body.
Julie just sat there watching her boyfriend and her dad, leaving her all alone in the living room. You were busy in the kitchen cutting cake and putting the pieces onto plates.
"Guys, dessert is ready!" You jogged to the living room to find it empty except for your daughter.
She rolled her eyes "they're in the garage."
You couldn't help but chuckle.
All day, you had anticipated this first meeting to be a disaster. Now you have your husband and your daughters boyfriend playing guitar together. You know Eddie didn't have a mean bone in his body. Even at his cruelest, he was still considered nice to most.
"Think dad likes him?" Julie crossed her arms, looking annoyed. She was being sarcastic. You could tell by her tone.
You pressed your lips into a thin line, trying hard not to laugh. "He hates him, I'm sure."
You could hear them both screeching from out back. Heavy metal loudly playing, and Eddie's old guitar plugged in. You and your daughter sat eating dessert, trying to drown out all the music. The night ended with Noah being invited back over next weekend. While Eddie was upstairs putting ice on his now sore neck. He forgot his age for a few hours and became that young twenty something man again.

You and Eddie taking one of those romantic bubble baths together in a big jacuzzi and he shaves your pretty pussy for you
Tw: pregnancy
My brain went to reader being pregnant bc they can’t reach bc of their baby belly.
He would be so gentle, helping you into the water making sure you don’t slip and fall. He would put in the jets for you bc he knows your back has been aching from the weight of the baby. Once he also got in he would let you soak for a bit before hand and massage your feet and ankles. He would let you lean up against him and just hold you until you asked him to help shave out of the blue. It has been so long and it was getting long, longer than you liked, and Eddie’s seen everything anyways so why not?
“What no, baby I like your little bush” he smirks
“But that bush is not so little anymore it’s too long you won’t been be able to find my pussy in this jungle I’m growing.” You huff
“Baby you’re being ridiculous, let’s just enjoy the rest of this bath and we will go to bed and I’ll show you how good of an explorer I am.” Eddie laughed.
“Baby please! I don’t feel sexy anymore I just wanna have this one thing” you pout.
“Woah woah woah. Don’t feel sexy anymore? How is that even possible? You’re the sexiest woman I know. You have all the curves a man could dream of… especially now bc your boobies are getting bigger and your ass is getting bigger and knowing your growing our baby… fuck your are my superwoman”
You try and hide yourself in Eddie’s chest but he doesn’t let you. He knows you don’t take compliments very well.
“Look at me baby” you look up at his eyes. Yours were staring to water, the pregnancy hormones were really bad and you cried at everything now. “You really want me to do this for you?” Eddie countered.
“Please” you sniffled.
“Okay baby.” He kisses your head before stepping out of the tub to get your razor and shaving cream.
When he got back he plopped you up on the side of the tub so he could get a good angel to not cut you.
Once he was finished you were really aroused. Having Eddie stair at your pussy, and touching it was getting you worked up. Eddie could see how the blood had rushed to your pussy, making your lips fuller. And now with the hair gone he could see how swollen your clit had gotten and now wet you were. He couldn’t help but lean in and kiss you there but he couldn’t get a good angle because your baby got in the way.
“Come on mama, I gotta treat this pussy right after threatening her with a razor. Gotta show her how much I love her” Eddie pulled you into the bedroom and you had one of the best orgasms of your life

Tonight was going to be amazing! Steve had invited everyone over for a summer kickoff party, there would be pizza, swimming, beer, and good company. Robin and you had gotten to Steve’s early to help set things up, pizzas were on the way, and you were just waiting for everyone to show up now.
First to arrive was Nancy, she had driven over with Mike, Lucas, Max, and Dustin. They had come bounding in with arms full of chips and soda, piling them recklessly on the coffee table. The younger kids were arguing about who got the bathroom first to change.
You couldn’t help but laugh and roll your eyes as you made your way to the door, letting in the next group. You had assumed it would be Johnathan, Argyle, and the rest of the kids, but instead, Eddie was standing in the doorway.
“Hey Eds!” You smiled.
“Hey! How’s my best girl?” Eddie pulled you into his arms and lifted you slightly as he spun you around. “I’ve missed you dude.”
“I’m good Eds. I’ve missed you too!” Your heart clenched slightly as he placed you back on your feet.
Your relationship with Eddie had always been like this. You were best friends, but sometimes, things were done or said that seemed a bit more than friendly. You’d stayed more nights with Eddie this last year than you did in your own home. Robin had pestered you about the status of your relationship with him to which you’d always reply; “We’re just friends, he doesn’t see me that way”.
“So, I know the kids are here, but I brought a little something special for us. I figured we could go to the van, take a few hits then come back in.” Eddie said wagging a joint in front of you.
“Eddie!” You hissed, covering the joint. “You can’t just pull that out. But yes, give me fifteen minutes.”
Eddie tucked the joint back into his jacket pocket and watched as you made your way over to Steve, Nancy, and Robin. Robin gave you a knowing look and you brushed her off. You were all catching up for a bit, laughing at the nonsense the kids were getting up to. Eddie was the one to open the door for Jonathan, Argyle, El, and Will. As they all walked in, Eddie came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist and rested his chin on your head.
“You ready?” Eddie whispered.
You nodded and let him lead you outside to his van. Climbing in the back, you made yourself comfortable amongst the pile of blankets and pillows, all the while, Eddie lit the joint and placed it to his lips. After a few quick puffs and one long drag, Eddie passed it to you. The two of you passed the joint back and forth for a bit before it was nearly gone.
“Do you want the last hit?” Eddie asked.
“Nah it’s cool, you take it.” You leaned your head back.
“We could always share it.” Eddie said with a sly smirk.
“Okay.” You blushed.
Eddie took a long drag, holding it in as he moved towards you. He brought his lips to yours, only separated by a few millimeters. Your lips parted in a gasp, and he blew the smoke into your mouth. You inhaled sharply, allowing the smoke in. Your mind felt hazy, and you were starting to wonder if it was the weed or the lack of space between Eddie and you. Eddie met your eyes and pulled back slightly, clearing his throat.
What the hell was happening?
The two of you made your way back into the house and took turns changing into your bathing suits. You rushed outside and went to sit on the steps of the pool with Robin and Nancy. Each of whom gave you a pointed look.
Eddie made a stop in the kitchen to grab you a coke and an orange soda for himself, he then made his way outside. He sat the two cans in front of where you were sitting with the girls, the next thing you knew he was jumping into the pool, splashing the three of you, eliciting screeches from you three.
He surfaced and swam over to you, settling himself between your legs which were dangling off the step. His chest pressed against yours as he reached behind you to grab his soda. Your breath was caught in your throat.
Had he always been this beautiful?
Who were you kidding. Of course he had.
The night went on like this. The kids swimming, playing a ridiculous game of Marco-Polo, Steve grilling hamburgers and hotdogs, Eddie treating you like far more than a friend.
Now you were all crammed in Steve’s living room, some movie playing in the background. You couldn’t remember the name of it because you were far too distracted. When you had come into the living room, all the good seats had been taken, and instead of letting you sit on the floor, Eddie had pulled you into his lap and wrapped his arms around your middle.
You had been sitting like this for about half an hour before he made the suggestion.
“Do you want to go back to my place?”
This typically wouldn’t have sounded like a line, but given everything that had occurred today, you couldn’t help but feel like his words held deeper meaning.
“Okay.”
Tumblr media
He led you into the trailer, just like any other time you’d been here, only this time there was a tension hanging over you.
More like sexual tension.
Jesus, get a hold of yourself.
Entering Eddie’s room brought forth a wave of anticipation, you couldn’t help but feel like something was about to happen. Eddie walked over to you and handed you one of his Iron Maiden shirts and a pair of his boxers.
It’s now or never.
You locked your eyes on Eddie’s as you slowly removed your tank top and shorts, leaving you clad in only your bathing suit. Eddie took a sharp breath and pulled his shirt over his head. Up until now things felt as though they’d been moving in slow motion, then all of a sudden things switched to fast forward.
Eddie lunged towards you and locked his lips onto your own, your hands finding his curls, his finding the ties to your swimsuit. His lips tasted like orange soda and nicotine, he was addicting, and you knew you’d never be able to give this up.
Tumblr media
Eddie woke up and glanced over to see your naked form curled up in his bed. He couldn’t believe it, the two of you had taken that leap, this would change everything between you.
This could change everything.
I can’t afford to lose her.
You stirred awake, noticing your lack of clothing, and taking note of the discarded clothing on the floor.
So that really did happen.
This could change everything!
“Hey.” Eddie said quietly.
“Hey.” You blushed.
You sat up holding the sheet to your chest and turning to meet Eddie’s gaze. Something was off about his expression, he seemed somber, and you were terrified to find out why.
“So, uh…” Eddie turned, breaking eye contact. “We should just forget this ever happened; you know. So, it doesn’t fuck up our friendship.”
Please say you don’t want to forget about it.
Of course he doesn’t want me.
“Oh, uh, yeah. I guess you’re right.”
Of course she doesn’t want me.
You stood and quickly began pulling your clothes on and gathering your things. There was this loud ringing in your ears and you’re sure Edie was calling your name, but all you knew was you needed to get out of there.
You were halfway home before the ringing stopped.
How could you be so stupid.
Then the tears started. Not only had your heart been broken by the man you loved, but you also lost the one person you’d want to hold you while you cried.
Tumblr media
“Dude what is up with you? You’ve been super weird since Steve’s summer kick-off party.” Robin pestered.
“Yeah she’s right, plus Eddie’s been extra bitchy, which usually only happens when you haven’t seen one another in a while. I thought for sure you guys were gonna hookup that night.” Steve ranted.
Your face turned a bright shade of red and you let your gaze fall to your lap. You knew you weren’t exactly being discreet with your avoidance of Eddie, but you didn’t’ think they’d call you out directly.
“Holy shit! You two had sex!” Robin shouted, smacking you on the arm.
“Ow! Yes, we did. And it ruined everything. The next morning, he suggested we just forget it ever happened.”
“What? No way, Eddie’s head over heels for you. What happened?” Steve asked.
You explained to Steve and Robin the events of the night and they both concluded that it made no sense. They were both convinced Eddie was in love with you.
This was when Steve and Robin came up with their plan. They would get you and Eddie together before summer ended.
Tumblr media
“Steve, this isn’t working. She is declining every invite to hangout; she has gone as far as driving over and leaving if she sees the van, and even calling everyone to be sure if Eddie was invited.” Robin said throwing herself on the couch in defeat.
“That’s it! We will invite her over for a movie night, just the three of us. Then after she’s here, you go to the other room and call Eddie and invite him over. That way nobody will be able to tell her that he’s invited because he wasn’t.” Steve explained.
Tumblr media
“Hey guys!” You called entering Steve’s house.
“Hey! How have you been? We haven’t seen you in a while.” Robin pulled you into a hug.
“Sorry about that, I just…I can’t bring myself to face him yet. I’ll get over it, I just need time.” You said.
Steve came in, greeting you and pulling you to the living room to help him pick a movie. He threw a wink over his shoulder to Robin. She rolled her eyes and made her way to Steve’s dad’s office ready to make the call. When she came to the living room she played it off as a trip to the bathroom.
Things were going well, they felt like old times, save for the hole in your chest in the shape of one, Eddie Munson.
Speaking of which.
“Hey guys!” Eddie greeted, entering the house.
“Guys, what the hell.” You said threw gritted teeth.
They both looked at you with guilty eyes. You shook your head and told them you needed to go. Grabbing your bag you went for the door. It took everything in you to not look at him.
“Hey, where are you going?” Eddie called after you, following you outside. “I haven’t seen you in weeks. You’re dodging my calls, your canceling plans, you’re literally leaving as I showed up to hang out.”
“Eddie, I can’t do this right now. I need to go.”
“So what? That’s it?” He had never sounded so defeated.
“Eddie, I…”
“Is this because of that night? C’mon you’re my best friend, you’re just gonna throw that all away?” He grasped your hand in his own.
“That’s the problem Eddie, I can’t be your friend anymore. Everything is different now.” You shook your head, pulled your hand from his grasp, and took off walking back home.
Eddie walked back into the house and immediately receive a slap to the back of the head from Robin. She and Steve proceeded to explain to Eddie how he had messed the whole thing up and how him suggesting you just “forget it ever happened” had led you to believe that he didn’t care about you.
Initially he didn’t believe them that you had feelings for him, but after they literally spelled it out for him, he realized what an idiot he had been.
“I’m gonna need your help.”
Tumblr media
The plan had been a pretty difficult one, Eddie needed Robin and Steve to convince you to come over again for an end of summer bash and after the last time, he was sure you’d say no.
Robin had explained to you that after your conversation with Eddie, that he definitely wouldn’t be coming. She told you that she asked him, and he had declined. It was then that you agreed, but not without a pang of guilt filling your chest. You couldn’t stand the thought of hurting Eddie. The look on his face when you told him you couldn’t be his friend had been haunting you.
The day came and you drove over to Steve’s, shocked that the only car in the driveway had been his. You parked and let yourself in.
“Steve? Where is everyone?”
“Hey! I’m in my room, and they’re on their way I figured you could come early so I could see how you were doing.” Steve said.
You walked into his room and noticed he was seemingly searching for something, he was scrambling around his room, swiftly moving to his dresser as you made yourself comfortable on his bed. You looked over at him just in time to see a mess of curls enter and Steve pulling the door closed. You heard the lock click and the distinct sound of a chair being pushed against the knob.
“What the hell is this?”
“I needed to find a way to talk to you and you’ve been avoiding me.”
“Eddie, let me out.”
“Not until we talk. Look I fucked up that night, I suggested that we forget about it and that was stupid.” He exclaimed.
“Eds, look, I just need time…these feelings will go away eventually. I don’t want to lose you as a friend, but how am I supposed to be around you when I’ve tasted your kiss and will never get to experience that again?”
“I don’t want your feelings to go away. Truth is, I only suggested it because I thought there was no way you could love me back.” Eddie explained.
“You love me?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Eddie pulled you into a gentle kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist. You let your fingers get tangled in his hair. There were whispered apologies between kisses and you two only broke apart when the two of you needed air.
“How would you like to go get some dinner?” Eddie asked.
“I would love that!” You replied.
With that, Eddie walked over to the bedroom door and began knocking, shouting to Steve that he was safe to let you guys out. His knocks sped up the longer it took for Steve to release you both.
“Harrington, hurry up! I gotta take my girlfriend on our first date!”
