proof of life: this is a variation of what my early mornings usually look like. going onto my third year of being a doctor, both as a moonlighter and in NGO-based community medicine, and a lot of things have been put into better perspective for me.
there's so much to share about the past 3 years since i started my practice after boards, especially about the growth i had failed to see because of impatience. it's slower here, on this side, but i think i know which paths to take better now.

Went out today to get some personal chores done. Also went searching for a study spot to settle in after and I found this place called Flamingo Bloom!!!! (Their strawberry-and-jasmine drink is bomb??? Always a bonus!!!)
I'm surrounded by noisy people out with their friends, though, but it's nice to be surrounded by happy noises :).
(Makes me miss my friends, too. :( )

Late post. For 7.27.19
Maraming salamat, UP. Maraming salamat, PGH. Hanggang sa muli!

And just like that: Day 365 of 365. Year 7 out of 7. It’s painful to say that I end it with an existential crisis and a tired heart. A graduation that my parents are more happy about than I am, where there is no energy at all to do a facebook post on all the goods of graduation, since the pressure and exhaustion have worn me out. I mean - how do you write a heartfelt “victory” speech -  graduating Doctor of Medicine, finishing your last duty, and passing orals - when you don’t feel the victory at all? It’s sad that I still question why I am here, not that if I want to be a doctor, but if I am fit to be one. Even after all through that - in the end, despite all the knowledge and experience that it gives, PGH has once again shorn down my self-esteem. My belief in self. Sir Butch said that society - nor us ourselves - would not allow us to give up our mantle as doctors. I don’t want to. But again, the thought that says if I should has crept back from around the corner and has began to haunt me again. The last series of exams I will be having as a med student will start tomorrow. I should be studying, but I’ve cried too many times this week. Still, in these last moments I spend in Manila, I thank the world for telling me “it’s okay now - now - Now, you can rest.”

New instrument unlocked! My fingers hurt, but I’m learning. :) Lost count of the number of days this ECQ has. It’s been crazy outside, and had a chance yesterday to go out and see one of the stroke patient’s our NGO assists. Lucky that I live the closest, I guess? This ECQ hasn’t been kind to all the chronic pt’s and seeing them coming in second priority because of the pandemic is still heartbreaking. Also wahey look - first entry since the “lockdown” right before the supposed 2nd week of March boards. I wonder when we’ll get our part two. (I 100% have stopped studying *sigh*)

s/p week 1, Physician Licensure Exams:
Sabi ng pari kahapon, walang saysay ang lahat kung hindi mo titignan ang pagdaloy ng kuwento matapos ang pagpako sa krus. Sa bawat dapit-hapon, may umaga ring tatambad kinabukasan.
Konti nalang. Nasa simula palang tayo. Marami pang tatrabahuhin pagkatapos nito.

Throwback to an old post that might’ve not been posted and was forgotten due to the insanity of med school: Highlights of the first 3 months of LU7 so far, featuring Internal Medicine, Surgery and RehabMed rotations. To old and new friends, our mentors, and the insanity of internship. Got a few more months left - cheer us on guys!! #2019LK
