there is just something about varsity style jackets and baseball bats that make something click in my brain. i WILL eat it up every time.

Thinking thinking thinking about Leslie Feinberg in Outlaw talking about gender and zie described hirself as a “transgendered woman.” Leslie had ID’ed as “trans” but I had not heard til that interview zie saying “transgender(ed) woman.”
I know zie considered hirself still a lesbian, and something under a trans umbrella, and while many were quick to assign “trans man” or “transmasc” onto hir, I knew that somewhere in a sense of womanhood, zie identified with a woman-adjacent label still.
I had not considered zie would combine hir sense of womanhood with the label of trans but it makes complete sense, and gives a whole new layer to hir sense of sisterhood with (amab) trans women!
Zie was a woman in a transgressive, transitional, transgender(ed) way. A trans woman.
What a concept of gender and transness that would make so many spaces spit blood. But it makes total sense!
Oh, to have more people recognize the trans umbrella (and frankly entire queer umbrella) as a spectrum of transgressive gender and not as mirrors for cisheteropatriarchy.

also as long as im talking gender my therapist has brought up a few times that the way i describe my relationship with gender can also be applied to body type in many ways. skinny and fat are just as much a pointless and false binary as man and woman. i haven't actually been able to Internalize that yet but like she's absolutely right the idea of being A Fat Person who can't wear certain clothes or exist in certain spaces is entirely made up according to current social standards and, while the words are vaguely reflective of SOMETHING that's actually there, they're so subjective and relative that they're basically meaningless in terms of actually telling you anything of use.

Some of yall deeply underestimate how much some cis men are threatened by trans men and our masculinity. How theres so many cis dudes out there that want to rape us, thinking that will make us detransition. How many incels out there are mad at us for betraying womanhood and not sucking their dick. How much they want to force us to detransition, how much they want to kill us and force us into hiding which, to me, minus well be killing us since theyre smothering who we are for the sake of a status quo. We shake their fundamental understanding of the world. Its one thing for a GIRL to be a tomboy to them. They think its cute, like a baby pretending to be an adult. Its a whole other thing for someone percieved as a woman to try to actually be a man to them. They think thw fact we have the gal to assume we can escape their grasp, to escape the kitchen or whatever tf, means we're disrespecting them and trying to "destroy" them, rather than what it really is, us trying to be independent. We're the exact thing these types of cis men hate. Sometimes they tolerate (emphasis here bc im not saying they accept yall. Dont twist my words)trans women bc they fetishize them but they want to completely eradicate us becayse we threaten the patriarchy by virtue of deciding we dont need a man to take care of us, we want to be the man that takes care of ourselves.

IT'S EMMA ANGST HOURS
you know, I've written an awful lot of female/feminine characters that are treated harshly or without respect from their male/masculine counterparts. Emma is probably the biggest example of this, where she, the "only girl" in her Gup group, is often scolded like she's a child or protected from the outside world because she's too "fragile" and "weak". boy I sure hope this doesn't mirror past experiences i've had as someone who's grown up as a girl and OH WAIT IT DOES
The most tragic part of it is, no matter how much Emma tries to hold her own, she's just not able to get to that level of independence that other characters like Rosemary and Polly have, or hell, even Dashi and Tweak from the actual source material
Emma's the most held-back character I've probably ever written, period, and ESPECIALLY the most held-back lady
She's held down by her own self-confidence some of the time, but most of that is direct result of the constant misogyny, babying, and general disrespect by the people she's closest to. Regardless of if them mean it or not, it's still disrespect

2 and 11 for your Mario S/I!!
Thankyou very much for asking!!!!!
My Mario S/I ref can be found Here and Info Here
2. How similar is your s/i to you? Are they a carbon copy, completely different or a mix of the two?
A lot of my S/Is are just straight me with a little idealization and a little warping due to just the nature of growing up somewhere different.
For my Mario S/I, he's a lot smarter than me, which isn't to say irl me is dumb, just not very good at retaining information, or using it to further a conclusion. My Mario S/I is, and is also very passionate about learning about the new world he lands in. (I like to think if I got isekaied I would be too but who knows)
He shares my special interest in Mushrooms, a lot of my taste in games, Bulling as a Love Language, Generally Chill Go with the Flow personality type, Fear of Bees, and a handful of other small traits that I don't wanna list too long.
He handles a bad situation way better than me. Like I said he's better at rationalizing and drawing conclusions, he's a lot more calm in a high stakes situation, good at talking something down, and reacting quickly to chaos.
For example in the events that'd be eventually rewritten as Paper Mario, Emile was the one to throw Luigi out of the castle, as he hung behind to find Toadsworth. He talks Bowser into instead of shoving him in the prison in his own castle to instead let him stay in his own room is the castle, and spends the rest of the game slowly sneaking all the trapped Toads out of said prison and back to his room until Mario storms the castle and saves them. I could never do all that, but he could, because he's cool under pressure and smooth with his words.
Side note this is also how my Mario S/I gets top surgery; He takes a very neutral stance to most schemes Bowser does, so when he was brought to Bowser for sneaking around the castle, and learned he had the Star Rod, he asked if he could get a wish, sense that's what the thing's for anyway. Bowser agreed as long as it wasn't something stupid like "I wish Mario had the power to defeat Bowser". "I wish for Top Surgery" is considered a Selfish wish by the Star Spirits and would never be granted, but Bowser did it, cause why not. He loves a selfish wish and is very Trans Rights
11. Does you s/i have one outfit they're always seen in or multiple?
He does have multiple outfits! Like Mario and Luigi he has all kinds of fits for different activities, not sports he doesn't do those, but like, Casual Wear and such. I actually drew us in a bunch of outfits you can see Here!
Though also like Mario and Luigi, I do typically just stick him in the Overalls look, for consistency sake. Either that or the basic Sona outfit of Big Orange Sweater
Oh! But actually a while ago I drew him in a few of my favorite Power Ups from the Main Series, I never posted it cause the image was more long than wide, and the sketches were pretty Eh in my opinion, but I'll post them now just for the sake of putting out all my art, even the stuff I'm not the proudest of.
The main concepts are his eyes and freckles change color to match the power ups, though he doesn't use them all that often sense he's an Adviser and not typically in any kind of direct line.

A child wanting to experiment with gender expression isn’t really an indicator of like having a trans identity per say. It means she is being influenced by our culture to associate some characteristics with being a boy and some being a girl: e.g., she is being culturally indoctrinated to believe in gender roles. Instead of going along with that sexist thinking, you could ask her what it means to be a boy, and why she can’t do or be those same things as a girl
hi anon! this is straight up some weird terf shit, and i wonder if you realize that?
for the benefit of my followers (and because i love an excuse to talk about my art/ocs) here is the comic anon is referring to
right, so, id say the main problem with this ask is you immediately dismissing a child's thoughts and feelings about their gender simply because they are a child. if only due to the fact that you and i, as Real Life People, should be able to have a mutual understanding that since i, a Real Person, am saying that the fictional character is gender-fluid, that would mean they're gender-fluid and there's not room for interpretation or argument bc i SAID they are? gender-fluid? and this is my character that i made up?
if your issue is simply seeing a comic depicting a young child Realizing Some Things About Gender, well that's definitely a you problem.
and i really must note it here, bc it's so amusing to me: this claim that victoria is only asking to be a boy all of a sudden bc they, like, want to do something but think they cant bc it's a Boy Thing? but nothing in the comic implies that. vic doesn't ask "can I be a boy tomorrow so i can go play in the mud and eat bugs and wrestle the other boys, activities which are forbidden to me because i am a girl, btw what's up with that?", they just ask it out of the blue with no apparent trigger. and the 'mommy/daughter day' line is only in there so i could have vic ask about "switching back" and realize that yes, they can be a boy or a girl (or neither or both) whenever they feel like it.
the thing is anon, if there was actually anything you brought up worth discussing, it's currently only in service of delivering a weird, terfy rhetoric, and thus is no longer worth attempting to have a constructive conversation about. im so sorry if you're having to learn this way..... maybe you should take a day or two to reexamine your personal reaction to my lighthearted comic and see how you feel afterwards
so... yeah? um this ask was very surprising to see, lol, and that's speaking as someone who's gotten transphobic anons on this account before. it's like im collecting all the variants... blatantly transphobic, transmed bullshit, and now terfy bullshit... wow! super cool
