I’ve said this before but I love how Through the Deep, Dark Valley resolves it’s own narrative but also sets up and leaves loose ends for Dear Wormwood! It’s so cool, especially since Dear Wormwood is the official “sequel” to TTDDV. Seeing everything as far back as Like The Dawn finally be resolved is soo satisfying.

I love space SO much. And it absolutely terrifies me too. If I wasn't terrified of space, and I was good at math, I'd be working at NASA. But even then I won't ever get to explore the galaxy in my lifetime, because we are nowhere near travel that equals the speed of light, and even then, lightspeed is still painfully slow on the cosmic scale.
Did you know that, no matter where we are in humanity, our sun will begin to die billions of years from now? We may all be dead and gone, or we may have evolved into something unrecognizable, or we may still be around. But one day, the Earth will be engulfed by the sun. Or it'll be thrown out of orbit. It'll be the end for Earth. We may have figured out how to go beyond the speed of light by then. We could have discovered that the Einstein-Rosen Bridge theory - wormholes - is real, and we could have used that to bend spacetime to our will and find somewhere new to call home, potentially even new universes.
But we don't know. Earth will likely become uninhabitable before the natural lifespan of our sun can engulf it, as a result of our very human mistakes and actions and impacts.
And... this is just a longwinded way of me saying, that's what Starfield is about.
It's about being human in the face of the divine, in the face of being so so so small in the universe. It's about conflict, the tragedy of it, how it can so easily destroy our humanity before time itself has the chance to. It's about looking at the petty wars between the UC and the Collective and going, "what are they doing? There is plenty of space for us all. This is only our galaxy, what about beyond?" It's about humanity pushing forward for answers about the universe and how they will always resort to the same petty violence over those answers. It's about how you can decide what you do with those answers. It's about looking in the eye of sure destruction that will certainly come one day, and say, "I will live and love in spite of it."
You can certainly become like the Hunter. You can continuously perpetuate the cycle of very human violence because that is all that is left to you, because you have embraced the uselessness of it all. Or you can become like the Pilgrim. You can settle down and bring love and kindness to others, and bring them knowledge, despite the fact that everything is pointless.
We are just starstuff. We come from the stars, and back to the stars we will eventually go, one way or another. And it's up to you to decide if you will embrace that as the only meaning in the universe, or if you will reject the simplicity of that, and embrace humanity, embrace love, embrace compassion, embrace meaning in spite of it all.
That is what Starfield is about. That's what it is about to me. And I love it.

I do not know what prompts these morbid questions.
But regardless, uhm... No hemolymph runs to my horns, so none should spill in the circumstance I should lose one.

I need any and all au fics where Loki actually died when he fell from the bifrost or where most of the fic takes place in the 1 year gap pre-avengers so you actually see the family and Asgard’s reactions in the aftermath.

Who was ur favorite yakuza character before daigo and mine? Since u would’ve had to go through 0-2 until u meet daigo and 3 til mine (unless u didn’t play chronologically)
playing the games chronologically, i dont think i really had a favorite until Y3, and even then i didn't immediately latch onto mine (if anything, rikiya was my favorite for most of my first playthrough). also with Y2 it was more fair to say ryuji was my favorite from that game since at the time daigo was still 'thats my old friend daigo :)' to me
but excluding Y2, i really liked lee and makoto from Y0 :) and date from Y1. my best friend date ........ also haruka was my daughter in an instant and i still love her sooooo

Rabbit lore Johnny singlehandedly making ppl love them just to do the most atrocious bullshit to them just so he can feel smth (I say Rabbit lore because my brainrotted deep dives into the facts the devs pepper in the source lore match up with the atrocious delusions Johnny lies to V about whenever V goes into his memory because in Johnny's mind, he IS the legend.)

what i imagine an average person would think when they make their third ever animation sequence: I'll try to make a bouncing ball or maybe eyes blinking!
me on my third ever animation attempt:
(its a little wonky but pretty damn good for being done in an hour and only being my third attempt at animating something !!!)

Ugh I never considered how hard it would be to choose between two breeds when you're deeply deeply obsessed with both of them and both fit what you're looking for just in different ways

i loved ur post about how cod fans have been treating the characters!! i found it insane how they were having a moral panic over makarov (is the cod fandom like one of the few fandoms that does this? lol) but it needed to be said… people are drawn to cod characters for many reasons and i’m sure it’s not because of “morals”
Thank you!! I was very nervous posting that, since I know parts of this fandom can get pretty aggressive about other opinions. I wasn’t trying to target or insult anyone with my statement, but there’s very clear double standards with characters!
I actually just made another post about this topic (sounds like self-promo I’m so sorry) because, yeah, this fandom can’t seem to understand that art isn’t always about good morals. Being sensitive and mindful about what you produce and engage with is very important, and doing your part to not be influenced by the problematic content that you consume is very important. However, all media is problematic in some way, especially COD (y’know, the military propaganda series). People need to be able to engage with media like this because, if everything is morally “pure,” then we lose out on important discussions about real-world issues, safe spaces for troubled folks, and lessons on media literacy.
I’ve talked about this and thought about this a lot in the past couple days. Like, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in the past 48 hours stepping back and looking at myself and my behavior in this fandom. I always try to be mindful, sensitive, and very careful with what I produce. That being said, I’m far from perfect. I have an ongoing fanfic for Makarov on my writing blog. Valeria is one of my favorite characters. I’m indifferent on Graves, but will gladly admit that he’s a very compelling villain and an interesting character.
Acknowledging that these problematic things are problematic isn’t saying that you can’t engage with them. You absolutely should engage with stuff like this if you so wish. The important thing to remember if you do choose to produce content of these characters, however, is that there’s nothing romantic in what they do, and they are based off very real issues in our world. Explore the different sides of them, enjoy them, but do not romanticize them.
A very good mindset that I’ve taken to heart is this: these people may be horrible, but they are still people. Humans are not one-dimensional beings. Explore the other sides of them. Humanize, but do not romanticize.
Sorry for the rambling, but thank you again for the response! People need to be kinder to each other and more mindful of the content they engage with, but that doesn’t equate to complete media purity.
#also want to make this very clear#‼️I DO NOT SUPPORT THE ACTIONS OF THESE CHARACTERS OR WHAT THEY REPRESENT‼️#‼️SUPPORT IRL VICTIMS. DO NOT DEFEND THIS BEHAVIOR.‼️#there’s too many fans (mainly makarov and graves stans) that defend their actions and romanticize them. they’re not good people.#makarov is an interesting character and at the end of the day— there’s more than one side to him.#however. he is still a mass-murdering terrorist that deserved being turned into a goddamn piñata.#explore his more ‘human’ side. but do not forget what he is and what he has done.#he’s not some ‘uwu misunderstood pookie-wookie bear’. he is human but he is still a bad person.#put his crimes front and center and acknowledge them even as you dive deeper into his potentially ‘good’ traits.#same goes for graves. don’t disregard his racism and massacre of civilians. he terrorized a city and tried to take over the local military.#dive deeper into his character— but don’t forget that.#i say again— same goes for valeria. she’s a very complex character with a compelling and realistic backstory.#but she’s still the leader of a cartel. she is a symbol of cartel violence and very real issues.#don’t ignore her ‘bad’ side when discussing her. she’s not a good person despite her complexities.#i’ve wanted to do deep dives into all three of these people because they’ve got very distinct mindsets and symbolism#but unfortunately i just don’t have the time or knowledge to properly do that in a meaningful way#maybe one day? but not right now lol

The Truth Always Comes Out
@empatheticagent
It was almost easy now, since she first came back, which still felt like it was a week or barely a month ago rather than years ago. If she wanted to, Natasha could pretend none of it had happened, but she wasn't the type. However, she couldn't, no matter how hard she worked at suppressing her situation, the truth that she was hiding, it didn't make it go away. Despite her expert self control, all the rigirous and torturous training of her past, she still had days when she felt that empitness, that ache of her soul not being there, and today?
Was one of those days.
Much like an animal, Natasha hid her pain well, acting for all the world normal. The void throbbed inside of her, and she felt it down to her bones,  a coldness that made her feel numb from her finger tips, to her toes and even her hair.
Taking a breath, that suttered as it left her lips. Everyone has breaking points, even those who were taught not to have one. Even without her soul, Natasha was very much human, and she was feeling it today, and her struggle to contain it, to hide it, was becoming almost beyond difficult.
At least she was alone, and she could duck out of sight into the first alley she came across, leaning back against one of the buildings, eyes closed, trying to catch her breath, one hand against her chest, fingers curled like claws.
