DMC week day 2!!! Decided to go for hurt/no comfort because I love me some angst 😈 So have a sad Dante! (I think right past the dmc 3 events... maybe???) I don't really like how it came out to be honest...? Like I know and feel it could be better (for example the palette looks really shit on my 2nd screen and idk if it's just that screen or I screwed up lol). But I don't have the energy to redo it and I feel like it's time to embrace even the little "flops" I create lol

A (late) piece for dmcweek2024 day 4! I was buzzing to put forward something for the week. Prompt was alt universe.

AU where Eva survived the fire and had to figure out a way forward, believing the twins dead. She becomes an RPG shopkeeper selling wares ranging from antique books to magical goods (Devil May Scry). She's also out for Mundus' blood.

I had...so many more ideas that I'm leaving out to keep this short. It's fun to think how she'd mesh with the cast.

Like! her and Lady. Mother that lost her kid and kid that lost her mother. It writes itself how much unwitting projection can go wrong. And pretty much everything about her, the twins, and Trish :)

In terms of backstory:

After the fire she's alone. Her birth family disowned her long ago. She thinks about revamping the mansion but the idea of staying in that empty space with only memories for company is too much. So she eventually opens a small store.

Starts off paranoid and distant. Still is distant but gets entangled with the local community overtime. Greets people by name and they'll chat about how life has been going. This includes demon hunters and demons and supernatural beings living peacefully; her shop becomes a small safe haven to exchange information to stay safe.

Gets very good at forging protective charms. Haunted by the memory of the enchanted closet, smashed in and empty.

A regular is a schoolgirl who originally came to pick up reserved books for her father but stuck around because hey, this place is quiet and interesting, and the owner serves stellar teacakes. Great place to study. To Mary, Eva's kind, though odd, secretive and a little lonely.

I got inspired by Eva's association with the bangle/bracelet of time and the amulets for her fighting style. It's based around item crafting, like an RPG character slapping on every stat boosting item.

She stitches together different outfits for different needs Cardcaptor style. They're all exceedingly dramatic. It's not clear here but I wanted a bird motif to eventually come through. Phoenix motif, really.

The words go in one ear and come out as a younger Eva in a catsuit, pointing a gun with a serious expression, wind blowing through her hair. Lady stares into the distance, bewildered, and slightly blushing. End ID]

Meanwhile the twins are having a terrible time but they have each other, even if they don't remember they're brothers. I think it'd be sweet if they have a bond anyway. Everyone else thinks they're rivals at best.

(Nelo is Mundus' favourite to toy with as the proud, eldest son. But when he gets rough, Bianco butts in and acts up for Mundus' attention. This gets him sent to solitary confinement; Mundus figured out Bianco hates small spaces and designed an iron maiden for him. Others think Bianco is a brute who acts out for a fight. But that's ok. It means Bianco can keep buying Nelo time.) (When lucid, Nelo despises his own weakness when this happens.)

DMC Week prompt 5

Kyrie. This woman. Can you imagine the thoughts going through her head the moment she answered that one phone call from Nero. The silence. And then that weird cryptic little speech.

"Kyrie... when I was a kid, I... I was alone. You and Credo were all I knew. And now all the sudden, I found out I have a family. What am I supposed to do with that?"

That young woman had the most honest and sincere response to him. Honestly if i were in her shoes, I'd have probably been freaking out. And who knows. She may have been. I can believe she was worried. Hell anyone would be worried about their significant others in that situation. But she had the calmness and strength to give him an honest response and trust he would be okay and come home in the end.

Kyrie will forever be a very strong woman and a pillar for Nero's character. Even though I ship him with an OC, she is one of my favorite examples of a strong female not in the limelight.

I've been far too busy to really participate in this whole weekly prompt thing, but I've already made some posts that fit the prompts, so for the final day, I've decided to link them all here.

Sunday

This prompt was about characters bonding. One of my earlier posts on this blog was a lengthy headcanon that Nero and Kyrie both liked to draw as teens, which brought them together.

Monday

This prompt was about hurt/comfort, and I think the closest thing I have to that is one part of a post where I speculated about Trish's powers.

Tuesday

This prompt was about underappreciated characters, and I think the best choice for this one is my plot in which Kyrie gains demonic minions, similar to the ones V uses in DMC5. I've talked about this a lot in the past, all instances of which are linked in my pinned post.

Wednesday

This prompt was about time travel, and I do have another plot that involves time travel. I've posted about the general premise, as well as how a particular character would get involved.

Thursday

This prompt requested a sad headcanon. I think this one about Trish qualifies.

Friday

One of the options in this prompt was "commune with dead". I made a post speculating about Sparda's experiences persisting in a demon-exclusive afterlife.

Saturday

The final prompt was about a character rescuing another. I think about my AU in which Dante is captured by Urizen instead of Lady and Trish, and while it was made with the intent to remove two characters from the role of being rescued, it ironically does still include some rescuing.

Two posts qualify, one where Dante gets saved, and one where Dante saves someone else. And of course, the whole AU is linked in my pinned post.

HEY HEY HEY dmc week has started!! I am totally not overly excited about this and haven't been mentally preparing for a long time ahead... 🥴

Anyway, day one - bonding! I just thought these two silly goofsters taking silly pictures together would be pretty fun and cute. Or rather Vergil thinking they're taking pictures while Dante and Nero are pulling a prank on him and recording the whole thing. "Why does taking one picture take so long?" He wonders. Nobody tell him and let him just awkwardly stand still for a longer moment there 🤭

I love these two, they are my last 2 braincells.

Ive added this photo before. But i think it speaks volumes to me. The brothers go to hell together to cut down the Qliphoth at the end of DMC5. Dante says its to keep his brother in check. But I believe its to keep him close so he can't leave again. They both lost so much. This photo is heartwarming and heartbreaking. I think it shows bonding and comfort, adequately encompassing both day 1 and 2 prompts.

Dmc week day 5: Sad headcannon

This submission is also part of my angst/no comfort post seeing as I didn't make one lol

I guess it's more Canon then headcanon but I saw a post floating around (I may have reblogged it) about vergil saying that he would style his hair the same way dante did before he found out dante was alive and it made me cry, so I kind of amplified it to "vergil sees dante in the mirror, not himself but its been so long he can't remember the details.". I know they are identical so dante would look like him but I guess it's more in the way they present themselves rather than how they look literally.

Anyways please enjoy!! I scribbled this down quickly but I did put a bit of emotion into it, I really love the angst between these two 😭😭
