#don't take this too seriously I just really liked Undertale when I was younger and I'm getting Asgore vibes from General Alberich
SequenceShift Character Relationships
Don't worry, I still haven't given up on this AU yet. Even if it ain't popular, I do very much enjoy making content for it and seeing the same 5 folks like and reblog it. You guys are awesome! Now, I kinda just randomly selected a handful, so if there's others you wanna see (or maybe details I missed), lemme know!
Chujin and Ceroba
Ah yes, it's not an Undertale Yellow AU if our favorites foxes aren't divorced, huh? In all seriousness, Chujin and Ceroba met pretty much exactly as they did in UTY, with Ceroba being the one who proposed marriage to him. Things were going find, until a certain incident led to Kanako getting attack. After the creation of the Amalgams and Kanako's (presumed) death, Chujin was horrified with what he'd done and wanted to entirely pull the plug on Project Integrity, but Ceroba wanted to keep it going, entirely bent on her promise to bring back Fallen Monsters to life. This led to their falling out, and Chujin leaving the Imperial City with a handful of his followers.
Ceroba was understanding as to why Chujin didn't want to see her anymore and let him leave in peace. Unlike Asgore, she does know he's living out in the Remnants and of the Colony's existence. However, she allows them to live peacefully and undisturbed as long as they don't cause any problems. Chujin also doesn't hate Ceroba to the same degree that Tori hates Asgore, so there is a possibility for them to reunite, but they aren't exactly yearning to leap into eachother's arms.
Ceroba and Dina
Like I said earlier, Ceroba, Starlo, and Dina were a part of a childhood friend trio. It started pretty simple, with Princess Ceroba befriending two commoner kids who each had parents working for the Royal Family. As they grew older, Dina actually did develop feelings for Ceroba, but she knew Starlo was very much into the Roba, too, so she put aside her own feelings for his sake (yeah, didn't work out too well, but still).
Dina remained the humble bartender for a while until Kanako's assassination attempt. After seeing Ceroba spiral into depression, she volunteered to join the newly formed Royal Rangers. Of her companions, she was the one who was closest with the Empress, talking to her and comforting her when need be. She also took on the Royal Executioner role so that Ceroba wouldn't have to go through the pain of having to take a life with her own hands. Worth noting Dina's feelings for Ceroba have resurged by this time, but she doesn't want to make a move just yet. Though that might change in a True Pacifist Route... Sorry Chujin and Starlo
Moray and Mooch
Both of these two have had their troubles, especially considering the Wild East Massacre. Mooch had it particularly rough, as it left her with a fuckton of anxiety, which she hides beneath her 'gremlin' persona, as I call it. The more Clover kills, the more that side comes out. Moray tries to hide it, but they've also been hurt pretty bad by the Massacre. This has led them and Mooch to become really close with eachother, especially after the Feisty Five broke up as a friend group, so these two really only have eachother by the start.
They do have something of an older-younger sibling type relationship, where Mooch's chaotic nature and kleptomania contrasts with Morays more orderly side, but at the end of the day, they very much care for one another. Also worth noting that they both fight Clover in Lakeside at the same time.
Starlo and Kit
This basically started after Martlet requested Starlo to look into a strange monster sighting within the Barrens, thus leading him to encounter the usually elusive Kit. The two started talking and formed something of a friendship with one another. It's worth noting that Starlo doesn't know that Kit is Kanako, nor does he know that she's an Amalgam (in fact, he doesn't even know what an Amalgam is. Ceroba and Martlet are pretty tight lipped on that subject).
They aren't super close friends either. Kit is very reclusive and unwilling to share more about herself. Their conversations haven't really gone beyond simple small talk. Besides, she only really talks to him when he sees her (which he does have pretty damn good perception). Now Starlo does have a sort of funny feeling when it comes to Kit and maybe even almost able to put the pieces together, but given his role as Captain of the Rangers, he hasn't really had time to look into it.

Why do you think the fandom is so obsessed with the genocidal route?
I think a lot of it just boils down to what a lot of kids like. Kids engaging in media often want to feel mature. Kids are often taught by their peers or by others that bright, hopeful, and "fun" things are inherently less deep than the dark, edgy, and cynical. This can lead to kids really leaning hard into media that takes them more "seriously." That is to say, a kid in that awkward transitionary stage of life might feel pressure to abandon the bright optimism of their youth in order to fit in with other kids who are more "mature." But also! Kids like to feel challenged and often flock to dark and scary things because it's fun. See: How popular FNAF is with kids. Kids love things that are cool and scary.
Just going off of my own experience when I was younger, I definitely had a phase where I felt very awkward because I still liked Pokemon at a time when my classmates were too "grown up" for it. There was a push toward "adult" things they had no business watching, like Family Guy and South park, and really violent FPS games.
So I think it's like. To some fans, particularly younger ones, that dark, edgy, killfest coupled with Sans having a cool fight and all the fangames that ONLY focus on that route are probably a factor.
Though some simply like the alternate characterization the route gives, the challenging boss battles, and the way it deconstructs video game completionism.
I obviously can't speak for everyone, let alone every kid, and I don't think it's wrong TO like that route, but I really am tired of being hounded about it, and I feel like the pedestal the fandom puts it on misses the core thesis of the run. When people are making all these absurdly intense and difficult boss fights for rule of cool and to beat tougher and tougher challenges, I just sit there thinking.
"Wasn't the point of this route that going out of your way for extra content and hard challenges misses the forest for the trees?" That is to say, the game very much reads as a critique on the need to see everything in a video game and explores what this would entail for the characters of that world. I think the "weird route" in Deltarune is going further by being a commentary on how Deltarune players expect more alternate routes and content in a game where Toby really wants to tell a specific story.
And to an extent, I think this also relates back to Inverted Fate. Because IF is an Undertale AU, people want to see alternate routes like in Undertale. And while I get that, Inverted Fate has always set out to tell a specific story and be a deeper, more character-focused adventure. Frisk is not a puppet- they are their own person here with their own past, flaws, etc. Plus, with this AU being a pacifist continuation, while it does have neutral elements, it wouldn't make sense, IMO, to go down those darker avenues.
I understand wanting to explore what-if scenarios, but I think this mindset that every fanwork NEEDS geno is silly when plenty... don't even have neutral or pacifist. :u

For the HMS shipping thing I think it’s just general consensus due to CJs not outright said weither or not he’s against it or fine w it? and also the fact that it can kindaaaa lean on seeming incesty from a glance? even if you DO take into consideration it’s chill from a system aspect you have to think about the fact the characters were not initially written to be a system and aren’t entirely separate people from each other, like it’s clear they are still connected to each other/whole in some fashion, and idk I think it’s just a “don’t want to risk it” type of thing, plus I just think personally that exploring the characters in a platonic way is more interesting writing wise to dig into their characterizations, ig it just bugs me when all people can get out of a series is ways to ship the characters, nothing against you ofc! You were just curious! BUT I just think the CCCC fandom is like refreshing in that sense you know? Gives more of a chance to explore writing analysis and character dynamics etc :3!
idk if I’m making sense lol I just always try to make sure to be weary of any accidental sus adjacent stuff, and it gets tricky with series like this where it’s kindof a weird gray area?? AND I’m on the ace spectrum so I’m just not the kind of person to ship characters in general/I just don’t see the appeal like others do, TLDR like I said: I think it’s mostly just to play it safe/no one really sees a point in it anyway shrugs /nm (sorry this got long I just had thoughts I wanted to ramble about)
I'm a hopeless romantic so I love shipping, but I TOTALLY get what you mean with the shipping being too much sometimes. Sometimes it's WAYYY more fun and interesting to explore character relationships in a platonic light rather than romantic, especially since fandoms and media focus on shipping and romance a little too much sometimes. I do think it would be interesting exploring some relationships in CCCC in a romantic light, but I still greatly enjoy seeing them interact platonically.
I also thought it might be a "selfcest = incest" thing, since I've seen that crop up in other fandoms with character who isn't explicitly a system but is multiple people. But I don't really get that tbh? When I was younger, selfcest was RAMPANT in some fandoms, ironically or not. (I remember it in homestuck specifically in a jokey sorta way, but it was taken seriously in Undertale AU crossovers for example where everyone shipped Sans with himself. And I have to mention the one we're all thinking off: Onecest.)
I've mentioned this before in my last two posts about this but, again, I think it'd be fine? I don't know Chonny and I am not him so I have no idea his actual feelings on it, but from the QnA it seems they're characters more than they are him. With him allowing headcanoned identities, kinning, introjects (I'm not a system so I don't know if it can be controlled, but he said he was fine with them is the point I'm making), and all that, I assume shipping is fair game as well. Again, though, I'm not Chonny and I don't know Chonny, so I have no way of knowing his actual feelings.
Never feel bad about rambling in my inbox, by the way. I always enjoy hearing about stuff people like, ESPECIALLY if it's something I also like. Thanks for your input! :D

The skellies with a S/O who dresses all goth but is the biggest ray of sunshine.
Undertale Sans - You reminded him of teenager Papyrus, wanted to be all edgy and goth but failing in every "villain thing" he tried to do. He can't take this seriously and he will tease you without mercy. Other than that, he really doesn't care. He literally wears pink slippers with shorts.
Undertale Papyrus - You are reminding him of him, younger, and he is cringing so hard. Not in front of you. But there are nights where he is just watching the ceiling, wondering what would have happen if he was still that edgy kid today (spoiler >>>> Edge). After a while, he gets used to it eventually.
Underswap Sans - He's a bit disturbed the first days, but now it's fine. He knows you, and he thinks it's cute. Though, he might get a bit aggressive with people talking in your back. What if you're style is original? At least it's not boring like their clothes. One chance out of two of declenching a street fight. Make your bets.
Underswap Papyrus - You have forced the meeting, because Honey is way too shy and impressed by your style to ever come to you by himself. He's a bit disturbed by the contrast at first, but as long as you're nice to him and give him cuddles, he will get over it pretty quickly.
Underfell Sans - ... Are not all humans supposed to dress like that? No, cause, well, he dresses edgy and he's not that mean, you're dressing edgy and you're not mean at all, he just assumed it's a normal thing and didn't question it?
Underfell Papyrus - He feels out of place everytime you're wearing a nice black dress, so he bought matching gothic suits to match up. People are always a bit confused when they crossed your way. Since S/O is so friendly, they usually assumed Edge is the same... Except he's not, he's really edgy actually, and usually there's a long silence in the conversation that makes everyone uncomfortable when it's happening.
Horrortale Sans - Cool dress. Now, hug? He doesn't care, you do you as long as you're giving him some attention and you eat your breakfast. He's not difficult.
Horrortale Papyrus - He had some difficulties with the black dresses at first, because they looked a lot like Undyne's ones and he was getting very uncomfortable. But then you switched to red and blue victorians one, and he's never been so relieved in his life. He's supportive and will highly encourage everything that doesn't look like what Undyne was wearing.
Swapfell Sans - You first meeting was Nox trying to kill you in a McDonalds because he was sure you were a vampire and he didn't want you to touch his bones. Then he realised skeletons don't have blood, and that you actually aren't a vampire. It's fine, I guess. But don't you dare do weird things at night, he's watching you. He's tolerating your existence for now.
Swapfell Papyrus - One day you find him imitating you, with a black dress and black make up, talking to himself, well imitating you talking to him, in front of the mirror, and you're not sure how you're supposed to take it. Oh, you call his name and takes a picture, and threats to show it to his brother if he does that ever again. Even if he says nothing, you can't resist showing it to his brother. Nox says you're a bastard and that he will have the picture to print it on the fridge. Rus hates you both.

eh eh why don't YOU do clappy and milton and david and flowey and sans undertale and bastion and rhys and ur duck furs and kino and hermes yeah why don't YOU do that
lol ok ok….. im honestly probably going to make a separate post for each bc im like. yeah. need to categorize that shit[ Claptrap ]What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Claptrap is just… so ridiculously autistic dude. Loud, social issues, has a hard time judging when to stop talking, canonically… faces a lot of ableism from people. Basically told he wasn’t born right, etc. Honestly I’ve always had a thing for characters who were told to ‘shut up’ or ‘stop talking’ (see: Ko) because as a kid I was super talkative. A lot of OCs I made when I was younger were of that ‘super talkative, doesnt know when to stop’ variety partially because when I was younger I used to be like that (kind of lost that quality), and my mom was like that, and people find a lot of people like that very annoying and … well they’re the kind of people where people talk behind their backs about how annoying they are. haha, to claptrap a lot of people do it to his front tho… I do like how he has a hard time picking up on nuance and he’s just… super into anyone who gives him attention. characters who attach super easy who are super starved for love like that, who are clearly appealing to you… I’d die for claptrap man.Is he/she important to the general plot?  Claptrap is the most important Borderlands character. On a serious note, we all know Claptrap as the mascot of Borderlands. He’s your intro character in every game who guides you through your baby steps, and he brings levity to the game. I do think Claptrap is funny in ways aside from ‘let’s laugh at this friendless loser’. If you like Claptrap, there are genuinely ways in which he’s a funny dude - that part where he’s like ‘whoops guess you’re not hyperion tech’ as you fry is a delight. some of his commentary is pretty great, esp in BLTPS where he’s given more to talk about than his social situation w others. In tftbl when he like… passive aggressively goes on to gortys ‘if you even fucking care’, it made the ending for me. That aside… what even happened in BLTPS aside from Claptrap’s loss of innocence. (im j/k dont tell me)Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?Tbqh little brings out a feeling of protectiveness and care like this small robot. I was happy to kill Flynt for him. also upset at flynt lol. Happy tho! Yeah Clatrap is relatable, as I said. Reminds me a lot of me as a baby tbqh. I was a generally considered obnoxious child who was ostracized on this. I feel him. Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)Uhhhh… honestly Claptrap is one of the worst for this bc everyone’s so terrible to him haha! But I’m interested in seeing Athena + Janey’s dynamic with him play out more, since he knew them both in the past and they kind of know a. sad part of his life, and he knows a very interesting part of theirs. Also I once wrote a long piece of meta on how Claptrap/Gortys/LB is a good ot3. Suffice to say: I think they’d be good for him. They also have an interesting history of like, believing in him and shit, more than the avg personIs there anything about the character you would change?LIKE. I’d love for the plot to actually take him seriously and not treat him like shit as a joke character? I would. definitely change it so the franchise didn’t forget the small positive relationships they actually gave him? (see: Janey)I’d have some people actually treat Claptrap nice consistently, and not in the fucked up way Athena does.If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?I’d. probably want to look out for him a bit. Like even as a real life person… pinging my protectiveness. To be able to say anything positive to him is the dream tbqh. He’s super talkative tho, so I’d need breaks haha. But I need breaks from other people I like too! Also Claptrap in fandom… can you imagine how much he’d enjoy memes. I mean he canonically already does, so imagine that… + moreDoes this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites? All time favs. Absolutely.Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?I’d give them a long meta speech about Claptrap. I’d warn them how much I love him except do I really need to when I wear merchandise related to him 24/7… Is this character popular with the fanbase? The fanbase has the weirdest relationship with a character I’ve ever seen. But generally, the relationship is not great, esp since he hates and was used by the fandom’s top character (a lot of people were, but im not talking about them rn so dont dare)
