Guardian!Marinette AU - Post Feast (1)

Tuduuuum~ Here comes the Guardian!Marinette AU!

I made a post here about a year ago about an AU where it's not "Ladybug" but "Marinette" who becomes the official guardian, and I wanted to make a comic about it. (I also wanted to improve first in my drawings, but I figured that if I kept waiting that would never happen, sooo, here we are.)

This scene is settled Post-Feast (in season 3) when Hawkmoth found out about Master Fu’s identity. There should be a rewrite of a few episodes, and each will have a few parts. The idea came during S4 when I couldn't take the angst and sadness and sadrien anymore so, it should be a fairly angst-free comic. Just some twists, feels and shenanigans (╹ڡ╹ )

Guardian!Marinette AU

An AU where the official guardian isn't "Ladybug" but "Marinette".

After the events of Feast, Master Fu realized that it would only be a matter of time before Hawkmoth finds him again.

Right before the events of the S3 Finale, he summons both Ladybug and Chat Noir to inform them that he's retiring, and he's chosen a new guardian. She'd be the one who'd have the Miracle Box from now on, and if they're in need of anything, she's the one they'll have to see for advice and help.

"I believe you've all met before. She's Marinette Dupain-Cheng".

Chat Noir: Whut (⊙ˍ⊙)

Ladybug: Whut (⊙A⊙)

Chat Noir's trying to see what Marinette has to do with the Miraculous (sweet and clumsy Marinette? The GUARDIAN?) and suddenly starts to see links that he hadn't thought of before (especially the events of Multimouse where he saw her wielding 1000 miraculous at once and be totally and utterly badass).

Ladybug panicks and tries to change his mind. "But I can't- She can't do this! You can't leave us like this!"

Fu adding he'd be losing his memories doesn't help at all.

Miracle Queen goes waaay differently since HM never gets his hands on the box, nor on the other miraculous, he doesn't know about the new guardian, and both LB and CN manage to deal with everything without that much problem.

Adrigami and Lukanette probably wouldn't happen because Adrien's more focused on his just-a-friend being the new guardian, while Mari's trying to figure everything out with a silly cat more than aware of her civilian identity now.

(Do you feel the marichat coming?)

They still try to move from their respective crushes, but, well. Love.

Now Marinette has to juggle with both identities when dealing with Chat Noir, who takes the habit to visit her and asks her random questions. "D'you have a kwami too now?" "You going to join the team?" "D'you know what I could do to avoid smelling like camembert all the time?" "D'you know LB's identity?" "Can I tell you mine please and be best friends from now on???"

Marinette refuses to know his identity as of yet ("i'm not ready"), but it doesn't stop him from becoming a permanent fixature who helps her figure out the secrets of the encyclopy and find out new ingredients for their magical formulas and stuff.

When he sees how insecure she seems to be about being a guardian, he reassures her the same way he did with LB when they first got their miraculous.

On the other hand, Adrien reaches out more and pays more attention to her, and Marinette's wondering why is it happening NOW?! (Let's not even mention their trip in NY)

She'd take longer to breakdown thanks to Chat, but it would still happen eventually. She'd still tell Alya everything then, especially when she breaks from Hawkmoth's control like after being akumatized. (I guess the Gang of Secrets would still happen, just later on). She'd be careful to tell her that Chat knows NOTHING about LB though.

During one of Chat's impromptu visits, he finds them both dealing with chemical experiments and kwamis flying all around.

"Soooo, the status quo may have changed a lil' bit?"

All in all, the events would still happen mostly like they do in S4, with Adrien more aware of what's going on and feeling included (by spending more time with Mari and Alya whenever he can). He wouldn't know everything either, but wouldn't feel the gap that badly, since for some reason when LB's not avaible for their patrols and such, at least, Marinette's there.

Plus, Mari would be more aware of Chat's feelings regarding his partnership with LB, since he'd drop hints with the girls about his insecurities if he ever feels the distance, and LB can reassure him in that regard.

I'm not sure yet about Chat Blanc, but Marinette will most likely tell him at some point, as Marinette, by trying not to reveal everything (like how 'their love destroyed the universe'; that's not something she wants to think about). They'll agree that no identity reveal can happen until HM's defeated, at least.

Annnnd there's more with Alya, and Nino, but I'm still searching for a way to word everything. And to draw it; someday.
