Absolutely love that they decided to play "Heads Will Roll" after Neuman blew up Cardosa's head, and vote it should become her permanent theme for the sheer hilarity of it all

Here's the key art and character descriptions for The Boys spinoff Gen V:
Tumblr media
Jaz Sinclair plays Marie Moreau, an 18-year-old superhero with the ability to control and weaponize her own blood. As an incoming freshman at Vought-run Godolkin University, she is eager to prove she has what it takes to join The Seven, but is sidetracked by a mystery she begins to unravel at the school.
Chance Perdomo plays Andre Anderson, a junior at Godolkin University with magnetic powers. He’s Golden Boy’s best friend and the son of famous superhero, Polarity; Andre has big shoes to fill as he’s set to take over the Polarity name once his dad retires. When Andre realizes that something is afoot at the school, he takes it into his own hands to try and figure out the mystery.
Lizze Broadway plays Emma Meyer, who is also known by her superhero name, Little Cricket, for her ability to get super small. Though insecure and naive, which often leaves her in compromising positions, she becomes close friends with her freshman roommate, Marie, and together they navigate the mysterious dangers at Godolkin University.
Shelley Conn plays Indira Shetty, the dean of Godolkin University. She doesn’t have powers, but her background in superhero psychology and her peerless ability to analyze what makes supes tick make her indispensable to the school. Her goal is to transform Godolkin University into the most elite college for supes and she takes a special interest in Marie when she arrives on campus.
Maddie Phillips plays Cate Dunlap, a junior at Godolkin University who is good friends with Jordan and Andre. Cate is able to push people to do anything she commands using the touch of her hands, which she uses to her advantage. Powerful and confident, she’s also Luke’s girlfriend, making her one of the most popular supes on campus.
London Thor and Derek Luh play Jordan Li, a competitive student at Godolkin University who will do anything to get to the top. They have a unique ability of changing between male and female forms, through which different powers manifest— the man is dense and indestructible, while the woman is agile and can launch energy blasts. Their distinct sets of powers make them a standout TA at Brink's School of Crime Fighting.
Asa Germann plays Sam, a troubled supe who is desperately trying to escape his unfortunate circumstances. He’s extremely powerful, with super strength and invulnerability. Despite having a good heart, he’s plagued by his hallucinations, which sometimes make it hard for him to discern between what is—and is not—reality.
Patrick Schwarzenegger plays Luke Riordan, who is also known by his superhero name, Golden Boy, because of his ability to light his entire body on fire. He is a senior at Godolkin University and is in the top rank, having the brightest prospects of joining The Seven.
Sean Patrick Thomas plays Polarity, Andre’s father and largely celebrated Godolkin University alumnus and trustee. Polarity expects his son to follow in his footsteps by taking over the Polarity name when he retires. He believes Andre is destined for The Seven and will stop at nothing to make his dream become reality.
Clancy Brown plays Professor Rich “Brink” Brinkerhoff, a renowned professor of crime fighting at Godolkin University who taught superheroes such as A-Train, Queen Maeve, and The Deep. He is dedicated to finding the top new talent at Godolkin University to join The Seven, and believes Golden Boy has what it takes to be next.
Marco Pigossi plays Dr. Edison Cardosa, a gifted doctor with ties to Godolkin University

"Jumanji" speculation
Tumblr media
This is the synopsis for the upcoming sixth episode of Gen V (source).
My guesses are that:
"Emma goes to find Sam" - Seems like she probably returns to Godolkin's campus since we last saw her in episode 5 with Sam at the drive-in, calling the others to warn them about Cate.
Tumblr media
"Marie, Jordan and Andre are forced to see things from Cate's perspective." My guess is this will be a limelight episode for Cate with a fair number of extended flashbacks that illustrate just how Cate came into Shetty's control, and also probably give us more Golden Boy as well as tell us just how Brink fits into this all (and why exactly Golden Boy killed him). Since Cate clearly is wracked with guilt about wiping their minds, it would make sense that she'd want to divulge everything she can to regain their trust. There was a preview shot in episode 6 of Cate's eyes looking pretty bloodshot, suggesting she restored all of their memories, not just Andre's.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Dr. Cardosa makes a breakthrough with a mysterious virus, and Shetty makes a terrifying request with dire consequences." We're definitely going to be seeing follow-up to the scene that Shetty had with Cardosa in the Woods corridor. Definitely seems like he wants Marie's blood to perfect his virus that can control Supes (which I personally think might also tie in with why Cate was under Shetty's control, given her particular powerset).
Edison Cardosa: [Sam] nearly killed my family, Indira! He's far more trouble than he's worth, and Golden Boy is dead anyway. The point is, I'm done with Sam. He's not my problem anymore. I'm tired of babysitting psychopaths. Indira Shetty: Babysitting psychopaths is literally your job. Edison Cardosa: Those kids found out about him! Indira Shetty: Those kids have been handled. They won't be a problem. Edison Cardosa: Come on. You know it's just a matter of time before they find out about everything else we're doing down here. I am this fսcking close to perfecting the virus, a viable way to control them for good. But if they discover that? I'm not paid nearly enough to die for this shit. Indira Shetty: So you want a raise? Edison Cardosa: No, that's not what I... Indira Shetty: So why don't you tell me what it is you do want? Because we both know you're not going anywhere. Cutting up Supes and seeing how they tick is a skill that won't quite shine on your LinkedIn profile. Edison Cardosa: I want the girl. Marie. Her abilities are the rarest I've ever seen. She doesn't understand how powerful she really is. She's the perfect subject, could speed up my timeline. Indira Shetty: She is special. But no. You're not the only one interested in Moreau. She has a benefactor, and because of that, she's strictly off-limits. For now.
This will probably include some explanation as to what Soldier Boy might be doing in this show. But then there's the question of who Marie's benefactor is. It's probably not Shetty herself because I don't see why Shetty would refer to herself in the third person, so it's probably someone else within Vought or associated with Vought. Could be Victoria Neuman (since we will see her in person in one of these episodes), but I like the theory that Marie's benefactor is Stan Edgar. As New Rockstars pointed out, he's got a history of taking interest in orphaned Supes from Red River who accidentally killed their own parents (can't be a coincidence that we actually saw Marie's picture briefly on the computer screen when Hughie was at Red River investigating Victoria's past and uncovered her connection to Edgar; Victoria's and Marie's parents also died in similar fashion); he'd want a new asset in the wake of Victoria's double cross, and seeing as Edgar was the one who signed off on Payback betraying Soldier Boy to replace him with Homelander back in 1985, it would make sense for him to have a contingency plan up his sleeve (and be secretly coordinating with Shetty and the many other insiders he probably still has within Vought).

Kittens, I’ll be honest, I am getting a wee annoyed at the one remaining shadowban on my Twitter acc persisting. *stares mournfully* I just wanna post art on both of my socials and/or perform experiments to see if I can continue freely updating my little spontaneous drabbles threadfics. 😑
Tumblr media
On the flip side, it’s been a nice one week social media break from Twitter lol. Then the shadowban got reinstated when I tweeted a pic of being freed from the Shadow Realm, which is very ironic and hilarious in hindsight. So if you saw that pic and then noticed me immediately ceasing all activity ever since, this is why.
Presumably after a couple more days or 1 week of inactivity (hopefully this doesn’t last 1 year), it should be all green again. I’ll probably wait a couple more days to 1 week more max before tweeting anything.
In the meanwhile, current plans for my stories after I come back from my writing break:
Tumblr media
Truce ch3 will be next to be updated. The temptation is really strong to wait till S4 of The Boys airs because there’s a small part of me that’s afraid of conflicting what’ll undoubtedly be presented differently in canon, but I’ve been pacifying the urge by watching Gen V with the Boyscord boys. If you notice, there’ve already been mentions of Sister Sage, Firecracker, and even Tek Knight (*coughs* TK is more subtle because he’s only been indirectly foreshadowed via SwingWing in ch2 for ch3 and not outrightly mentioned unlike SS and F) in Truce. And watching Gen V, thankfully, has given me good ammo with the characterization of TK at least and given me food for thought with the Supe virus that’d been in the late Dr. Edison Cardosa’s possession now being in Victoria Neuman’s possession (*coughs* I can see the future bioweapon potential, especially if/when Billy gets his hands on it and he’s gone off the deep end).
I will do my best to keep Truce contained to 4 chapters only. *knocks on wood 3x* I did mention it’s essentially 12 chapters being condensed into 3, which then became 4 because I’d ultimately decided for chapter 2 to be split into two parts (ch2 and ch3). But at the end of the day, this was always intended to be a PWP and as a sort of gateway fic for people to be more interested in The Boys (TV) and spreading interest of this small enemies-to-lovers rarepair I’ve come to just adore. Somehow the self-indulgent fic where I’m just writing shameless old men p*rn became what it is today, haha, but I’m the type of writer who prioritizes “plot” and “character study” and worldbuilding so in retrospect it’s very on brand for me to write p*rn with some serviceable plot, haha.
After ch 3 is updated, unless I desperately need to take a break and jump to another fandom for a bit (*coughs* SVSSS), ch4 should be next to be worked on. This is also if I’m not hit by the strong urge to work on TNotG ch2. So what’ll come next after updating ch3 will be dependent on burnout and what strikes my writer’s whim.
But after ch4 is published and, hence, having finally completed the Truce saga (there will be a future Wedding oneshot I’ll write that takes place post-Truce universe and after a timeskip of events that won’t be covered in Truce because otherwise it’d be turned into a full on 20+ chapters, but that oneshot follow-up will be written sometime later), unless I’m heavily feeling TNotG (which is a real high possibility), what’ll be next to be updated is my Bingyuan magnum opus: The Untold Tale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’d written a little April Fools 2023 threadfic for TUT ch6 so if you’ve read it, you know what to expect. We’re bringing in Shen Yuan’s divine family. If there’s one thing I personally don’t like in my own writings, it’s having OCs in my stories unless it’s strictly necessary—so to strike a happy medium I’m bringing in technically canon characters (his parents, two older brothers, and little sister) but turned into PIDW fictional versions of “Shen Yuan’s” family, so technically this is my personal go-around to trick my own brain to not see them as OCs. There’ll also be a scene involving Bing gē. All and all, TUT ch6 is more of a transition and set-up chapter for the more exciting ch7, where we will get to see the transmigrated royal Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky for the first time. And I will have an illustration of him and potentially Mobei jūn. But before we can get to the exciting chapter, ch6 has to exist first, haha. But I hope when I return—jfc, I see 1.5K of you have bookmarked this fic 😳 I am honored but also a little nervous, haha—that you’ll still love the story. <3 Having been in The Boys fandom for awhile with its modern lingo, I hope you don’t mind if I take the time reimmersing myself into the headspace of TUT’s C-novelesque writing style. It might take some time but the payoff will be worth it. <3 Because I do notice quite a few of you lauded the writing style of TUT in your Bookmark notes. Which I am quite appreciative for and humbled by, though it does require me to be in the mindset to write intentionally flowery prose, haha.
It’s during this time, since Truce will be completed at this junction of time, I should be slowly migrating over the four threadfics from my Twitter to AO3. If you know, you know. Three of them, as I said, will be adapted into long fics (the M3GAN-inspired AU, the Fix-It AU, and the Sugar Baby AU). I’ll categorize them under what I’ll likely be calling either the Who Dares Wins series (‘cause it’s the SAS motto, y’get it? *wink wink nudge nudge*) or the Shock and Awe series (because it’s also another military operation name). Whichever I choose, it’s because Scorched Earth had already been taken so to be unique, I gotta go for something else cheeky but hopefully easy to remember by—aka the series of AO3 fics adapted from my Twitter threadfics. <— The only caveat is if I discover writing threadfics on Twitter will still get me shadowbanned. If this is the case, then I will be relocating them early after my experiment has been conducted even before Truce ch3-4 and TUT ch6 are written. There’ll be no real update schedule right now for them; these fics will be updated spontaneously because 80% of the content is being adapted from content that’ve already been written so it’s a bit easier for me to crank out (it’ll just need to be polished). What’ll be slow is if there are any new story content that’ll be added to the polished long fic versions.
Lastly, what’ll be next after TUT ch6, unless I’m very excited to get started on TUT ch7, is a toss-up between updating A Prince and His Baron and The Name of the Game. It depends on where my creative whim oscillates to at this junction of time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this is the plan! Take it with a grain of salt for now if a different story of mine will be strongly speaking to me and I change my mind later on, but this is the current list I have of my update schedule, adhering to the pinned post on my tumblr. ✨

This will always be my favorite scene from The Boys
I mean, it's a really great scene, it's the scene that got me interested in the show, and worthy of me trying to do some breakdowns.
youtube
The scene opens with Stan Edgar watching Victoria Neuman talking on CNN NNC about the Supe-Terrorist threat. An innocuous thing, at first, but there's a few things going on that are apparent with the hindsight of later episodes:
Tumblr media
It actually tells us that Victoria herself is the head exploder supe long before the reveal in the season 2 finale, given that this scene immediately follows her having remotely exploded Raynor's head.
Stan is watching intently because he understand the importance of knowing what the opposition is saying about you. Doubly so considering that Victoria is meant to function as a puppet opposition of sorts to Vought. (Though I imagine that this is changing in light of recent events like Homelander threatening her daughter to get her to betray Stan, her injecting her daughter with Compound V, and Gen V ending with her having obtained Dr. Edison Cardosa's Supe-killing virus.)
With the later reveal in season 3 that Victoria is Stan's adopted daughter, he's also watching her because he's proud of the life and reputation she's made for herself as a politician, and it's a good thing she's ended up doing this instead of rotting away in one of Vought's other secret Supe labs. That might actually explain some of Stan's annoyance when Homelander walks in.
Homelander walks in, having barged past Stan's secretary.
Tumblr media
Homelander: Morning. Samantha: Mr. Edgar, I'm sorry- Stan Edgar: It's all right, Samantha. Homelander: Busy day?
----
Stan brushes off his receptionist's apology because well, he doesn't blame her. Saying "no" to Homelander's probably one of the most difficult jobs in the world.
Now, at this point, as Homelander starts to complain about the whole thing with Stan appointing Stormfront. Stan plays along with appealing to Homelander's ego. Homelander's obviously frustrated that Stan isn't intimidated or scared by his threats. In fact, Stan seems amused by Homelander trying to throw his weight around.
----
Stan Edgar: Good morning, Homelander. To what do I owe the pleasure? 🤔 Homelander: Well, you never come up to 99. So, I figured I'd pay you a visit. 😊 Stan Edgar: What a lovely idea. 😂
Tumblr media
Homelander: Right? 😂 After all, you run a superhero company, and, uh, you never check in with your superheroes, do you? 🤔 Like, uh... oh, I don't know...around the hiring of that girl, for example. 🤨 Stan Edgar: You wished to be consulted on Stormfront? 🤔
Tumblr media
Homelander: Well, why not? I signed off on all the rest. I'm the leader of the Seven. 🙎‍♂️
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: For which you have my undying respect. 😉
Tumblr media
Homelander: See, I don't think I do. 🤨 No. Not even Madelyn would've dared to try and pull this kind of shit. 😠
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: Well of course, you know how important you are to everyone at Vought! 😂😂
Tumblr media
Homelander: No, no. Stan. I am Vought. You show my photo to some illiterate fucking camel jockey in the middle of the Sahara, he's gonna turn around and say, "Homelander," in perfect American. 🇺🇸
Tumblr media
Homelander: You know what? My contract's up at the end of this year. Maybe it's time I, uh, move on. How do you think your shareholders would feel about that? 🤔
Tumblr media
It's at this point that Stan stares down Homelander for a solid ten seconds. There's no words, but you can practically see what each is thinking:
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: Your significance to this company is actually less than you think it is. And I'm about to give you the rundown on how that is.
Tumblr media
Homelander: 😳 Fuck.
----
Now it's Stan's turn to assert his power over Homelander in this conversation.
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: What do you know about Frederick Vought? Homelander: Excuse me?
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: Frederick. Vought. Our esteemed founder. Homelander: Well, I don't know, um, not a lot, probably. I only read his autobiography...five times? 🤔 Stan Edgar: Not the self-serving bullshit that we peddle to the shareholders. The real story. 🤨
Tumblr media
Homelander: Enlighten me. 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: Got his doctorate from Munich. 🇩🇪 Ahead of his time in genetics. Such the rising young star that in '39, Hitler appointed him chief physician at Dachau, where he enjoyed a ready supply of human subjects on which to test his earliest iterations of Compound V. For which we condemn in the strongest of possible terms. Early in '44, he felt the winds change, got spirited away to the Allies. When Oppenheimer was flailing with the bomb, Dr. Vought already had practical applications of Compound V tested in the field. Heroes like Soldier Boy, killing Germans by the dozen. So, Roosevelt pardoned him, and he became as "Wonder Bread American" 🇺🇸 as Disney and Edison.
Tumblr media
Homelander: Well, this is a truly fascinating, if not slightly condescending lecture, but, um... I don't think I see the point, Stan. 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: The point is... that you are under a misconception that we are a "superhero company". We are not. What we are, really, is a pharmaceutical company. And you are NOT our most valuable asset. That would be our CONFIDENTIAL formula for Compound V. Which you, manchild that you are, released into the wild. 😒😠
----
Stan has effectively outlined how insignifcant Homelander is to him and Vought as a whole. Homelander's just a product to him. Moreover, as we'll learn in season 3, this has been Stan's line of thinking for decades, since he was the one who gave the green light to Payback betraying Soldier Boy so he could be replaced with Homelander. He believes that "real power... is the ability to bend the world to your will," and he's doing that here to lecture Homelander.
Homelander tries to bluff his way out, but Stan has that bluff covered.
Tumblr media
Homelander: 😳 I don't know what you're talking about. 🤥
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: Well, let me remind you. You slipped Compound V to terrorists all over the globe to get you and your cronies into national defense. But maybe at the cost of destroying the whole company. 😂
----
At this, Homelander has enough of Stan and tries to get in his face to threaten him, but Stan stays perfectly unfazed and has no hesitation emphasizing that really, Homelander has no power in this conversation.
Tumblr media
Homelander: I don't think I appreciate your tone, sir. 😡 Not much at all. 😠
Tumblr media
Stan Edgar: And I don't appreciate that the FDA now knows about Compound V, or... that it's only a matter of time before the public finds out. While you're preening at the Golden Globes, we're busy running around like maniacs trying to clean up the mess you made. I don't have to consult you about Stormfront or anything else. 😠 Now... I believe you have a premiere of Tek Knight Lives to go to? 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, this has clearly left Homelander knocked down a peg or three. He's blocked the whole world out and there's a clear buzzing in our ears as he leaves the office and he decides to go pay Ryan a visit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other Notes:
I feel in hindsight that Stan Edgar actually directly was hinting at Stormfront's true identity right here. I mean, Homelander barges into his office to complain about not getting to oversee Stormfront's appointment to the Seven, and the first thing Stan does is lecture him about Stormfront's husband, the founder of Vought?
Tumblr media
I don't know when the writers decided to make Soldier Boy be Homelander's father, but that twist does in hindsight inform Stan's way of managing Homelander here. Stan was, after all, the one to sanction Homelander's creation using sperm procured from Soldier Boy, and he also is the one who authorized Payback to betray Soldier Boy to the Russians in 1984.
