especially that scene in the impossible planet, where one of the characters (i think scooti??) spots him standing out on the surface of the planet without a space suit and she's like "no toby.. you can't be out there, you can't be!!! 😰" and he just smirks at her like this while some rly haunting music plays..

and then shatters the glass and sucks her out into space 😥

sometimes I wonder if the reason why the fifth doctor struggles to have authority over his companions compared to his previous incarnations is because he’s simply physically too close in age to them.

assuming adric is around 16 and nyssa, tegan, and turlough are in the 18-20 range, and five himself is played by an actor in his late 20s — that’s on average about a 10 year age gap.

tbh I can’t imagine that a late 20s looking person would easily be able to order around an 18 year old, even if they are technically an ancient time lord.

so I’m about halfway through S11 now and while it’s not as bad as some dw fans made it out to be, the amount of pointless continuous exposition really turns me off.

having 3 companions is also a problem. just like with the tardis crew (of adric/nyssa/tegan) during five’s era, they’re not able to give all of them the development they need.

like yh his first season has a couple of dud episodes.. but so do all the other modern doctors seasons, even ecclestone and tennant's (in fact i'd say tennant has far more misses than capaldi in general lmao 🫣)

i have a lot of criticisms abt the 13th doctor’s era, but “she uses the sonic screwdriver too much!!” is not one of them

the sonic has always been a silly little plot device they rely on to move the plot along faster, and i’d much rather that than going back to the classic who issue of “the doctor spends several episodes trapped in a room or cupboard until the companions free him” 😆

genuinely cannot relate to ppl who hate on "love & monsters" like yes the abzorbaloff is a bit shit, and yes the episode could have probably done without the paving slab blowjob joke.. but i fucking adore the first 30 minutes or so (basically everything pre-abzorbaloff reveal 😅) w/ the linda gang 🥺

and then, the ending with elton being like "what i wanted to say is, you know, when you're a kid, they tell you it's all, grow up, get a job, get married, get a house, have a kid, and that's it. but the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. it's so much darker, and so much madder.." and then looking rly pensive for a sec..

b4 smirking up at the camera like "and So Much Better 😏" before the outro theme music kicks in like BWAAAAAH has Gotta be like one of my top 10 fav doctor who scenes 😳😆
