Doctor Who is about the human condition, it's about silly outfits, it's about the power ordinary people can wield, it's about ridiculous haircuts, it's about the abiding love for humanity, it's about one alien weirdo and their jealous girlfriend of a time machine, it's about helping the most vulnerable, it's about christmas-cracker-level puns, it's about protecting the innocent, it's about a butch Australian lesbian flirting with her alien scientist roommate, it's about how good will always triumph over evil, it's about two platonic besties passing their shared brain cell back and forth, it's about kindness and the intrinsic power of hope, it's about a sapphic alien making heart-eyes whenever her bestie talks about reversing the polarity-

HOLY SHIT!!! Big Finish has resurrected their Novel Adaptations Range after SEVEN YEARS; They're adapting the first Virgin Missing Adventure novel "Goth Opera"! If you're a fan of the Wilderness Years books or of the 5, Nyssa, and Tegan TARDIS team you should check it it out! It's releasing in July and you can preorder it now, LINKS BELOW!
The VNAs and EDAs are a pretty niche corner of Doctor Who fandom these days so its really fucking cool to get more love for these stories and this era of the series (although they haven't adapted any BBC books yet). It'd be REALLY sad if they retired book adaptations because of meh sales so if you're even remotely interested feel free to check out the links below! THE CONTINUATION OF THIS RANGE GETS US ONE STEP CLOSER TO EIGHTH DOCTOR BOOK ADAPTATIONS. I NEED FITZ AND EIGHT YOU GUYS.

It’s so fucking wild to me just how many of the Classic Era companions got mixed up in the Time War. Like. You just know that the Doctor didn’t want any of his companions getting involved, especially going off how 10 reacted to all his companions ready to enact suicidal actions to stop the Daleks and Davros. But like. The more of the audios I listen to, more and more of the Classic era companions end up involved in the Tine War based purely off of who they grew into as people during their time with the Doctor. Romana as President of Gallifrey as the war starts, with Leela her faithful bodyguard and Braxiatel (the Doctor’s brother) as Romana’s chief advisor. Ace is an agent for the Celestial Intervention Agency because she couldn’t stop fighting the evils of the universe. Nyssa became a doctor herself, trying to heal people in the midst of hell. Jo ended up pulled into the war cause the Master manipulated her into doing something he needed for his evil plan of the week. And then at the start, Susan, the Doctor’s granddaughter, after losing her son Alex to the Daleks before the war, accepts Gallifrey’s universal summons to all Time Lords to come home and join the fight. Like. All of them got pulled into that mess. And I wish we could get some kind of story where the Doctor deals with the emotions that come from realizing that if he hadn’t ever met or traveled with those people, they wouldn’t have gotten traumatized by the Time War, while also realizing that it’s directly because they met the Doctor that they saved so many people in that war.

Been thinking a lot recently about both the Fifth Doctor and Jamie which has lead me to think about the Fifth Doctor and Jamie and I think, knowing how many children and grandchildren Jamie has, it’s safe to assume that he’s good with and/ or likes kids and so I propose, an older Jamie, like, post Season 6b, reunited with Five while he’s with Tegan, Nyssa and Adric and being like a second dad to them.
I think it’s made even better by the fact that since Five mistook Adric for Jamie in his post-regeneration haze that Adric definitely recognizes the name Jamie. Can you imagine being Adric, being mistaken for some guy called Jamie by the Doctor and then finally having a face for the name, and it’s your new dad.
Also he’d definitely be super protective of them all. Someone says even the slightest mean thing about Nyssa and he’s shouting Gaelic obscenities. It takes one wrong comment about Adric being annoying for him to pull out the Sgian-dubh.
Jamie gets Adric a McCrimmon tartan Kilt
If I had a proper idea for this I’d write a fic cuz I need this realized SO badly. If you have an idea/ want to brainstorm something with me, hit me up.

Some perfectly normal Doctor Who factoids
The Master is canonically Rasputin.
Time Lords can all levitate and fly. The Doctor seems to forget this.
The Doctor is canonically Merlin.
There are two different explanations for the Loch Ness Monsters.
The Doctor once had a talking penguin as a companion.
Vampires are a canon species.
Tegan and Nyssa have such a strong queer subtext to their friendship that there is a wiki page online dedicated to it.
Speaking of Nyssa, she once got turned into a vampire and became obsessed with eating Tegan.
Ace McShane once fell in love with a cat-girl.
The Doctor is both a semi-mythical figure in the founding of time lord society, as well as also being the reason for the time lords having regenerative abilities. They are also just a run-of-the-mill time lord who ran away from Gallifrey. All of these are equally canon.
The Doctor once broke the fourth wall to wish the viewers a Merry Christmas.
The Third Doctor knows various martial arts.
It's implied that Time Lords cannot get drunk on alcohol unless they drink ginger beer beforehand.
The Eighth Doctor was once sentenced to death and promptly demanded to die in the nude.
The Doctor effectively kidnapped their first companions.
Time Lords reproduce via a technology known as looms.

Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 3
The Master's father, Marnal, wrote an episode for Star Trek but took his name off it after they changed it too much.
The Fifth Doctor took Tegan back and time to kill that same would-be-dictator as a baby but was also unable to go through with it.
Nyssa once turned the Fifth Doctor into a vampire.
The Time Lords created the Were Lords, a species of lycanthropic soldiers who could regenerate, to fight for them in the Vampire Wars.
The Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors have different enough blood that the Fourteenth Doctor was able to resist blood control that used the Tenth Doctor's blood.
The Garvond is a monstrous entity in the APC Net of the Matrix composed of all the demented, evil sides of the Time Lords.
The First Great Time War was between the Time Lords and the Order of the Black Sun.
The Veil was fond of the Twelfth Doctor and considered them to be companions. The Veil hoped that the Twelfth Doctor would take them with him when he escaped from the confession dial.
Jack Harkness described the Midnight entity as someone who could eat its way into a person's brain and steal their voice. Given that it is unknown where he got this information, this suggests that Jack might have had an encounter at some point.
Both the Doctor and the Master have used the name "Merlin" before.
The final incarnation of the Master was a highly destructive entropy wave in one timeline.
The Eleventh Doctor once returned to the Library with Amy Pond, but he never mentioned River Song. They encountered Book Monsters.
The Doctor's first TARDIS was a Type 50, but they were left behind when the Doctor ran away from Gallifrey. This left them angry and hurt that the Doctor had replaced them, so they ran off from Gallifrey to find him.
According to the Seventh Doctor, the Rani and her giant rodent came to his graduation party.
There exists a canned drink called Sontaran Up that a Sontaran was seen drinking.
The Sixth Doctor's method for fighting the Weeping Angels included winking one eye at a time, so the Angels were always being observed. Given that he was almost immediately sent back in time where he encountered the Tenth Doctor, this isn't a very good method.
Due to similarities between the life stories of the Doctor and the Devil, there are many races who believe they are the same being.
The Thirteenth Doctor, Yaz, and Dan once watched a production of Cinderella. While trying to make it more exciting, the Doctor accidentally replaced all the characters and props with the real versions, who began to attack each other and the audience.
The Doctor had thirteen children before running away on Gallifrey who were all killed (or perhaps a better word would be 'culled') by the Watch after Susan's birth.
The Doctor has had other children over the years (although they did not recognize all of them as such) including but not limited to Miranda Dawkins, Edward Grove, the Sound Creature, Daqar Keep, Jenny, and the Sapling.
Gostak was one of the First Doctor's tutors who he admired very much, but similar to Borusa, he went mad and had to be stopped by several incarnations of the Doctor.
