“Well, I’m going through a break up, so obviously I’m sad…” She just looked at me. (My coach at the time…) “Because break-ups are sad…” 💁🏼‍♀️ “Are they?” Now I just looked at her. “Well…What are we celebrating?”, she said. Although I initially didn’t like her tone (or her assumption), I didn’t skip a beat. “We are celebrating the end of “the way it was”. The end of my anxiety. The end of my wondering…” That’s all it took for my brain to switch gears. I went on a roll and I stayed in that gear going forward. “If it’s ever going to work out, it’s not like that… so at least that “way” is done.” Proof that right there that “Stress isn’t what happens to you. It’s what and how you THINK about what’s happened to you.” This didn’t mean that the good parts being over wasn’t sad… but it did help my brain shift me into healing and growth mode. It added an “and”. It can be sad AND necessary. It’s what your brain focuses on the most that is going to determine how you get through it. EmpowHER Junior at Aksharaa 2024

Hi, I am Sazda, one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior at Aksharaa School. After all our sessions, we had been preparing for the fundraising event. We had been waiting for this day for a very long time. We worked really hard for this day ever since day one. Although I couldn't attend all, or most of EmpowHER classes due to health reasons, I too had prepared and was very excited for this day. In my team I had Mahika didi, Shristy didi, Arpana and me.

We had planned to do a cookie stall and a thrift stall but sadly Mahika didi couldn't make it that day so we had to settle for just 1 stall, that was the thrift stall. Shristy didi stayed at the stall for most of the time, and whenever she needed a break I looked after our stall, I couldn't stay for most of the time because I had an Udhyam stall too. Apart from us, many other teams had worked hard, in order to achieve their goals. There were food stalls, drink stalls, which everyone seemed to like, my mom even bought things from many of our EmpowHER stalls in order to encourage us. 

Based on the experience from that day, I'd like to say that, we, as in our team, lacked a lot during that day, there could have definitely been places where we could have improved on to make our stall slightly better too. However, the day went by smoothly, people were willing to take a look at our stalls, and even bought things from us. Overall I'd like to say that the fundraiser had been an absolute success, looking at how much people bought from us and other teams as well.

There were many things my team as well as other teams learned from this experience. I am definitely excited for the remaining sessions of EmpowHER junior. #EmpowHERJunior2024 #GirlswithGrit

After the proposal presentation feedback about our concept or idea, these are the feedback that I have received and what I am doing and planning to iterate it.

HMW statement: How might we create a recruitment process that empowers and supports women, while mitigating the impacts of gender stereotypes, fostering an inclusive workforce?

my concept idea: is to create an app (EmpowHer) that empowers women by providing them with the tools and resources they need to navigate the recruitment process and reach their career aspirations. This includes helping them build confidence, enhance their skills and make informed career decisions, connecting women and their dream career. By creating an app, empowering women and giving them with the opportunity by rating, helping to change your workplace. using these ratings to help women make smarter decisions and help companies better understand how to retain top female talent. This app also helps them find opportunities and companies that best suited to what they are looking for, whether it is flexibility to work, salary satisfaction, mentorship, wellness initiatives and more,

I am to rebrand the name to be more inclusive with other genders, rebranding "EmpowHer" to just Empower to make it less gendered. To create an option where people have the choice to add their gender, race/ethnicity, etc. into their profiles to give them their voice. Within the rating and review system - add filters where it can show reviews based on reviews submitted by gender, race, ethnicity, etc. In the app workflow, i wil move the industry question from advance section, then add an option on the advance section whether they would like to change the current industry in and they are ale to select what they would want to change into.

This week I will be focusing on creating my brand, and create concepts of the first iteration of the app workflow and aesthetics using figma and procreate.
