What's this biography you're reading, specifically?

ladies and gentlemen, lenny bruce!! by albert goldman and based on the journalism of lawrence schiller. which i so far have... very mixed feelings about, to say the very least. but i'm going to see how it goes. i've already read how to talk dirty and influence people, (which this biography, interestingly, suggests involved a ghostwriter and lots of handholding to make lenny make any sense at all) and i enjoyed the nostalgia and sweetness of it, though i obviously got the impression that it was lenny's very biased, very rose-tinted and sanitized version of his own history. ladies and gentlemen... is much, much more graphic and, from my perspective, not remotely flattering. it is really fascinating, though

#i knew i was going to have mixed feelings about it right away #in the beginning of the book‚ they have a whole slew of photos from his life (a lot of which were cool‚ i hadn't seen them before) but then #i flip the page and there it is: a photo of his body on the bathroom floor. extremely heavy. #and especially since i've read the possibility of those photos being staged—and also that a friend purchased the photos to preserve lenny's #privacy—it made me twig to the idea that this was probably going to be pretty grim. #there are some other gripes or suspicions i have‚ but i'm going to read it to the end before i make a real judgement #abbey.txt

is it weird that i dont wanna change my pfp—even though ive had countless moments where ive seen something, thought to myself "this would make an amazing pfp" or "i really wanna make this my pfp" and then like seconds later lose the desire as i remember my relationship to my pfp and how everything about my online persona from the past 5 years would change—and im okay with that?

I really do not think he’d go for some ig model esque girl. That’s just my opinion he’d probably want to sleep with them if anything not wife them up. I also think without his hockey hype even trying to bag a ig known girl won’t cut it, sounds shallow n weird but it’s true.

I think he’d end up with a pretty blonde or brunette that has an above average girl next door look. He seems into both. To when he actually settles who knows, I think dudes focused on figuring himself out since hockey was probably his main identity for the longest time.

#doing shading studies on skulls for the funsies was such a tangible thing in how I do lineless art now #so like I somewhere got going drawing on index cards bc they’re less space to fill than a full page and thus less intimidating. that became #drawing silhouetted buildings and horizons against a gradient sky- I used roughly cut masking tape to have clean sun/moon and if I wanted #other clean lines. while I was staying w my grandma for a while I went oh shit I could do this digitally and that’s when I started getting #into digital art outside of just tracing photos exclusively. started playing with silly doodles digitally and somewhere along the line #wanted to draw teeth bc why not. struggled and didn’t like the result- tried again a few days in a row. liked how I’d improved but wasn’t #satisfied. so I saved an image of a skull lowered the opacity and originally was gonna trace the teeth but that got boring so like. I used #white to mark out the brightest points on the skull. a light grey for the next brightest. rinse and repeat until the whole thing is covered #and I’d do that for ages. like a year or two I think. I’d done other art too but the skulls and doing the same process with selfies was a #fun way to burn a lot of time and to just. have an ongoing project I could return to. a ways FURTHER down the line I was like ah damn.
