ok i have never rlly listened 2 pmore bc i have terrible music taste but i have recently noticed there. is not a single song on my 40+ hour playlist sung by a woman and thats a mistake bc i actually really like the few pmore songs ive heard so. what songs/albums dyou recommend i listen 2 first?

hi okay i’m so sorry it took me a long time to answer this because i wanted to type it up on my computer!!!

so i’m not really sure which album you should start with because imo it kind of depends what music you’re into! but if i had to give a broad recommendation, i would say start with riot! because it’s kind of like the quintessential paramore album that got them famous. however i’ll go a little more into detail here:

if you like more classic or melodic emo/pop punk, you’ll like all we know is falling

my favorite tracks: pressure, emergency, brighter, never let this go

if you like straight pop-punk, classic 2000s-style, you’ll like riot!

my favorite tracks: for a pessimist, i’m pretty optimistic, when it rains, let the flames begin, miracle

if you like pop-punk mixed with alt/pop-punk with more of an exploratory balance, you’ll like brand new eyes

my favorite tracks: careful, playing god, turn it off, feeling sorry

if you like pop rock/alternative with an edge, and some inter-genre influence, you’ll like paramore (self-titled album)

my favorite tracks: part ii (a second part to let the flames begin, often performed as a set during live shows), last hope, proof, (one of those) crazy girls

if you like 80s music/glam rock/power pop/confetti genre explosion (not sure really how else to explain), you’ll like after laughter

my favorite tracks: rose-colored boy, fake happy, pool, idle worship

i think that an overall order i would recommend is: riot -> all we know is falling -> brand new eyes -> paramore -> after laughter. imo this is the way to best understand how much paramore evolved their sound as artists and sort of started finding their own way and bending/blurring genre lines. but then again, i think the most important thing is just to listen however works best for you! i’m happy to fill anyone in on band history if i know it, also if you want recommendations of paramore songs to listen to based on mcr songs or whatever, i can do that too :~). basically stan paramore because they’re awesome
