TO BE KILLED THURSDAY NOVEMBER 4, 2021 AT 12PM: Hello, my name is #Farrz. My animal id is #ID114764. I am a desexed #female black/white #cat at the #Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 6 months 3 weeks old. #114764 I came into the shelter as a owner surrender - aco on 4/11/2021, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- death of owner. Farrz is on the emergency placement list due to behavior. She is not thriving in the care center and continues to flee and avoid contact when approached for interactions. Although she has not displayed any aggressive behavior, she has a hard time warming up to new people. Due to her stress levels, it is in her best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable, quiet home as quickly as possible. She would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give her plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. The foster writes: Farrz is a sweet shy kitty who needs a caregiver who will give her space to come out of her shell. Her favorite things are mealtime (she loves canned wet food, particularly the fish flavors!) and looking out the window at buildings, trees, and people. She prefers to nap in spaces where she feels safe, like under the bed. When she's feeling brave, she will sit on the window sill and alternate between watching the birds, grooming herself, and napping. On special occasions, she's given her foster mom so head butts and even let her scritch her chin a few times. Farrz will do great in a home with patient humans who won't force her to do too much too quickly. What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have lived with cats.
