It's that time again where everyone in the local facebook groups argue whether or not mountain lions are in NY. It happens every few months... It's bobcats. Always bobcats. If as many people had seen mountain lions as they claimed, they'd absolutely be posting photos for proof. Bears are all over in NY and whenever there's a sighting in the area at least a dozen people share pics. There are never pics of the supposed mountain lions that don't turn out to be bobcats. Last time someone shared photos of obvious coyotes they were claiming to be wolves. Most people are clearly bullshitting; some of these stories people are coming up with are honestly the most farfetched things I've read, but everyone seems to think there's a DEC conspiracy to hide this, without any reason or motive for why. No one wants to admit they could be wrong though, so they double down. If someone could show definitive proof, it's be one thing, but since no one can... There are no mountain lions or wolves in NY.

i just finished watching 3 Body Problem last night. i had originally planned to liveblog it as usual to help me keep track of the shows and movies i watched this year but since my phone died, i couldn't be bothered to divide my screen so i could liveblog on one side and watch on the other.

potential spoilers under the cut.

i found the series interesting with gory moments that had me pausing it a few times and hype myself up before proceeding (although i ended up covering nearly the entire screen for most of the duration of those scenes XD).

if there's one thing i do my best to avoid, it's gore.

so why'd i watch the show? first, i went into it blind(-ish). after seeing a clip of a certain (non-gory) scene on my fb timeline,

Just some notes on how this story started--

One of the things I took out but kinda wanted to keep (but it didn't make sense anymore in the context of the story--), a family of birds nesting in the main room as an allusion to FDB and DFS staying with LLH. The birds would be in the most danger from the pitcher plants.

By the end, I was just trying to cross out things on my list, because I struggled to write anything at all. Welp.

...Yeah, so Stray Gods has a heavy influence in this story. For the Ritual, I do find it funny in an ironic way just how accurate it is to the characters-- including how the songs end! For green path, the choice could go either way, for blue path Aphrodite chooses death in the end, for red path she chooses to live.

This was always meant to be a fic that solved the ending of the series for me, because it made me so angry and I needed a happy ending, but also a realistic one for myself. For me, I understood what Li Lianhua felt at the end, but my anger was at the fact that he couldn't see the people who wanted to save him. And it's such a true thing that I think I was angry at that!

Out of, like, the dozen posts I made on FB about this show (from liveblogging to editing videos to working on this story, etc, etc) I had one very angry post from when I finished it with 27 very long comments below to continue expressing exactly why I couldn't move on from it and it emphasised JUST how I felt about LLH giving away the Styx Flower.

But how do you solve a problem someone doesn't want solved? How do you save someone who doesn't want to be saved?

That was the conundrum that had me rolling on the floor the past month.

i didn’t really care abt the FB’s thing at first, but a few months ago i realised that it relies entirely on you already knowing what freckle bitch’s is to know what FB’s stands for, which is a very confusing move for what is supposed to be a fresh start. like what is the joke there anyway? that it’s abbreviated? it seems like its only purpose is to remind you of the funnier alternative, that they’ve now changed…. yeah i don’t get it at all
