hi choco! so, long story short, i was casually finding a long ass fic to read since i don't have a life outside my house (mainly bcs i was so bored that i decided to spend my time reading god-tier works on tumblr).

and me being a reader who loves reading full-length fics, i stumbled across brother's best friend. i kid you not, i literally read the story from 2 a.m. until almost 4 in the morning bcs the amount of countless times i took a break to scream in my pillow and to not crying was pretty concerning and then boom, my clock struck at 4 a.m.

god, i freaking love love the fic so much? probably one of my favourite joshua works across tumblr/ao3. i could see the way you actually put in your efforts for all scenes, how reader became more comfortable with joshua as they grew older. joshua in this is so dreamy, it is a typical “brother's best friend au” except that this joshua is so cool with reader's breakdowns and her ups and down, how they unknowingly just being there for each other without the other realising (minus how he was so clueless about his feelings before he goes away, but i was so glad that nothing really comes out as awkward between them when reader met josh once again after she and jennie finally makes up with each other. the downfall of her and jennie's friendship literally took me away and i was so sympathetic with reader reading that part tbh).

anyways, i love the pace sm, and thank you for writing it! i thoroughly enjoyed the wild ride. it was so good and beautiful. will be rereading it again and again, like seriously, i couldn't stress how attached i was while reading the whole thing in one go.

take a rest choco <3 and come back when you're fully recharged, 'cause writing that much words must have drained your energy in some way. stay safe and do have a good day/night. ily for giving us a free masterpiece!! xoxo, anonymous.

2020 retroactive

it was both a big year and a small year for me. three moves and two jobs on top of everything else that happened, but a new fandom and new friends too. to everyone who’s stuck around from 1d to dc to hockey, i’m glad you’re still with me. i love you. to the people who are new friends, i love you as well.

having friends who i can text without abandon and who will text back just as excitedly is the most wonderful thing to me and it was fun to find those friends in hockey rpf. it’s a sense of community i’d been missing for a while and i’m so so glad to have it back. meghan, la, jes, isbah, caitlyn, angela, amanda, court, (i’m gonna forget someone and i’m going to feel like a terrible person)-- i’m eternally grateful for your work in keeping me entertained and sane imagining different players in the most ridiculous of situations. jarka, adri, kassie, sabrina, chrysa, nic, melody, steph, the friends i’ve undoubtedly forgotten to mention but adore all the same-- please know i love and adore you sO much.

amazingly i only published four fics this year but it came out to 105k+ on ao3 which is inconceivable honestly

this was my only dc fic (rip but there are more in my wips if i ever get around to them). i’m really proud of this one-- it’s hard to be unique in a fandom as old and storied as dc but i think this concept was truly at least underdone, and i think i pulled it off well.

listen. i almost didn’t put this in because i published it anonymously (and it’s still not done) but it felt disingenuous to do so. it’s half my year’s wordcount! it was one of the most stretching things i’ve ever written! there’s so much about this fic that made me uncomfortable (in a good way) writing it, but it truly was a learning process. i’m proud of it, proud of myself for publishing it chapter by chapter, and maybe one day i’ll un-anonymize. who knows. long live angst fic xoxo

Instead of salt, maybe warn him that you'll make him take a bath. I don't know why, but I think it'll be efficient.

Delia is starting to prepare the house for the exhibition. I think she likes the idea of doing it, even if she tries to act strict when my dad's around. She probably enjoys it better than life coaching me. I was a bit of a douche, back then.

Do you have a lot of friends at university? I don't know how to speak to people at school ... If you have any advice, I'll take it.

I don't have a lot of friends here, but it's okay because I work all the time. I do have a guy in my class with whom I'm having lunch sometimes, but I wouldn't call him a friend. Don't worry Lydia, it isn't an obligation to make friends at school. Just be yourself, if people want to talk to you, they'll do it. Being a lonely wolf isn't a shame.

I can't stop looking at my calendar. Just one week to wait until I see your faces again.

By chance, Corazana received the letter one hour before she left for the bus station. She read it during the trip. She also wrote her answer and kept the letter so she'd give it to Lydia when she would arrive. That was pretty useless, since they'd see each other, but she had taken the habit. And she enjoyed writing to the teenage girl.

Dear Lydia,

You'd be surprised to learn that I read your letter on my way to see you. There's nothing I would love more than hearing about that girl. Be careful though, Betelgeuse will try to steal her from you (joke, he doesn't stand a single chance).

I've bought a bunch of candies for you. What about a movie night, this evening? Anyway, I'll probably ask you in a few hours. Wouldn't it be great to do it with the Maitlands and Beej' this time? All together ... I'm sure they'll be flattered to be a part of our little ritual. Especially our local demon, he always seems so sad to be left appart.

Don't ask me why I pity him that much, I have no idea. The more I get to know him, the more he touches me. Not in that way, you know what I mean.
