Day 94
Today was even hotter. Boy oh boy. Hot and sticky.
I worked from home today saving more timesheets and adjusting payslips.
I relocated my pea plant and one of my dwarf french beans to the new vegetable box as things were getting a bit cramped in the first box. We will see how they do but I don’t hold out much hope for the french bean.
I pottered around in the greenhouse and got rid of all the things that I had planted from seed but had just ended up being weeds. I seem to have a lot of failed seeds. I planted some new seeds to get excited about.
The last of my Lupins that I grew from seed and had planted into my new bed has pretty much given up the ghost. I do not know what I am doing wrong. I think I will just have to go out and buy an established plant.

Day 85
I had a terrible night's sleep and didn't get off till about 3am. The the skip at the house over the road was picked up at 6.50 am and the driver (as always) comes right up onto our drive. The noise frightened the life out of me.
I worked from home today but didn't achieve all that much. I think I'll go in to the office tomorrow and get more done.
I raked the grass a bit today and was tempted to cut it again already.. There was a massive storm tonight and loads of rain which will hopefully make the grass grow and turn it lovely and green again. I love my lawn being perfect.
Issy and I drank lots of tea today and finished the last of her homemade cookies.
We had loads of birds in the garden and one got stuck in the greenhouse again. Misty keeps terrorising them. They are very entertaining to watch.

Day 119
Sorted out some Helpful at Home billing.
Used the electric scarifier on Jessie's lawn. It was amazing. I can't believe how much thatch and moss it pulls out. I had a little go on my garden and it pulled out lots and I could have played all day. I took it back and looked into buying one of my own. I used the marvellous hose to water the plants in the greenhouse.
I pruned the cherry tree at last. I've been itching to do it since spring. Hopefully it will have a wonderful growth spurt now.
Had lunch and then cleaned for Norman.
Next I was supposed to put Issy's shelves up but instead I FINALLY sorted the two buckets of smelly gravel that has needed dealing with for ever. At last!!
Cooked dinner and then me and Issy went to football training that is finally back. It was fun to get back but the match was hard. I need to get stronger on the ball and be more determined. AND need to get much fitter!
Came home and watched more football. We needed Crystal Palace to win but they were useless as usual and Wolves beat them.

Day 108
I worked from home today. I had loads to get on with. I usually run around getting a few jobs sorted in the house first.
The boiler man was supposed to come to service the boiler this afternoon but he came early.
I am addicted to playing candy crush at the moment. Dinner was noodles with chicken in a black bean sauce and it was delicious. Watched more football.
OMG shock horror. Misty brought a mouse into the conservatory. I messaged Gemma and she came over to try to catch it. She is my hero.
I locked misty in the conservatory with it in the hopes that she would catch it in the night.

Day 105
Day Off Today!!
Had to login and quickly sort some work stuff out.
I cooked Gammon and roasties for tea tonight and watched Mercury Rising (a Bruce Willis movie I'd never seen) while I cooked.
I pottered around today getting bits and pieces done. I was going to attempt to scarify Jessie's lawn with the neighbours scarifyer but it wouldn't work. I weeded her block paving instead as it needs to be nice and neat for her visitor on Friday.
I put more photos onto my wall, tidied the conservatory a bit, did some ironing and got stuff ready for work tomorrow.
Had a cuppa with Issy as usual.

Day 104
I woke up early again. We need some blackout blinds in our bedroom.
Once I had had breakfast and a very long leisurely sit down in the garden I got dressed and got on with some jobs. I cut the grass after some raking and cut the edges neatly also.
We had stopped getting visits from the birds because the feeders were empty. This makes me so sad as we were getting so many visiting. I have filled them today but so far still no feathered friends today.
I finally took the wood from the old rotten garden table and I have a big box of new screws and a big pile of wood and old pallets so hopefully I can build the old table into a new and improved table for potting plants with storage underneath. Fingers crossed as the last time I tried to make anything I had a nightmare getting the screws to go in.
This evening I tidied all the mess I had made with the wood. I had a Gin & Tonic and a bag of peanuts and sat in the garden again. Me and Issy drank tea and talked about football, particularly Arsenal.
I guess we should think about going on our first outing somewhere. I think we are all quite happy staying in still though. The pubs and hairdressers were allowed to open again yesterday.

Day 96
I worked a bit this morning saving timesheets.
I did some work in the garden making willows hurdles around my vegetable boxes to keep the cat from climbing in them to go to the toilet. They worked really well and and I just need to finish them off a bit.
I moved the pea to the new bed and staked it with some Willow sticks.
We watched some FA cup football. Unfortunately Manchester United won their match. I was routing for Norwich.Arsenal play tomorrow.
Tea was the usual egg and chips.

Day 91
Today we went to pay our respects to Chris who’s funeral it was today. Very sad indeed.
This afternoon I finally finished the cushion covers for Jessie.
This evening I spent a few happy hours taking my old pallet compost bins apart and put together a second vegetable box. I transplanted the very tall tomatoes into this box.
Issy needed to prepare for her live on Wednesday (about building bug hotels) so we went for a walk to collect pine cones.

Day 84
Still locked down....sort of. Shops (other than) supermarkets) are starting to open now. Issy is going in to school for 1 hour a week starting on Wednesday but William isn't.
I finished replacing the patio tiles at the back of the garden today. Hard work but really pleased with the result.
Issy tried to pump up the tyres on her bike but we couldn't find the attachment for the strange valves. I've ordered one from Amazon now.
Issy and I went for a walk to deliver biscuits to birthday boy Bradley and then we walked from the back of chestnut meadows along the side of the fields to cooks yard. It was lovely 😍
Cuppa and cookies for us when we got in.

Day 83
I woke a few times in the night but the headache has gone away thankfully. Its possible that taking a tablet much more quickly helped.
It's another glorious sunny day. I cut some willow for Alex and after a shower. Issy and I walked to Alex's. It was lovely to see them all and have cuddles with the dogs.
We stopped off at Mary's and bought some succulents.
After a lovely lunch I sat in the shade watching the birds on the feeders. Before FINALLY getting on with planting my new flower bed up. It was much harder than expected as the ground was hard and there were lots of roots in the way. Are these the cherry tree roots? I was sure they would be deeper.
I helped Issy a bit to finish the new deck chair cover but actually she did most of it alone this time.
I made the kids go to bed at 9 ish as 10pm and even 11pm was becoming a habit.
I pottered around a finished off a few jobs and watched the Chateau Diaries.

Day 82
Stu at work this morning.
I finally cut the grass today for the first time in ages as it has been too dry for a while but then all the weedy bits were coming through. It looks much better now.
Stuck some little shelves up above the sewing desk for cottons etc...
I did ironing in the garden under the conservatory while watching gardening programmes.
Chicken and chips for tea tonight and it was delicious.
Talked to Tracy about layout of my flower bed...i need to get it all in the ground and stop putting it off.
I had a headache and neckache beginning so went to bed early... Early for me.

Day 63
We've been in lockdown for 9 weeks now.
The deaths from the virus have dropped quite a bit but they are expecting a second wave with the numbers increasing again.
The nice weather is back in fact its boiling. I had a headache all day.
It''s half term now so the kids are happy to have a break from the school work. It was also a Bank Holiday but poor Stuart had to go to work.
I 'installed' some willow plant frames to support Jessie's Daisy's. The ground is ridiculously hard.
I cooked a roast dinner and Issy made cookies.
I pottered around the garden once the temperature had cooled a bit.

Day 62
So as Issy had got most of the camping stuff out it was only fair that I put it all away.
Had a shower. Had been in the same clothes since Friday...proper camping behaviour!!
I tried to make willow plant supports for Jessie but it wasn't easy so gave up. I'll have to try a different approach where they are actually needed. The willow just snaps. I need to see if I can soak it in the bath and use it then. Something to add to the list.
I pottered around the garden, swept the block paving and sorted out some plants in the greenhouse.
I made a chicken curry in the slow cooker and Issy made naan bread. They were very good.
I tried digging out a bit more of the new flower bed. It's HARD work.

Day 59
Went in to Greenwillows to help Tracy work on the garden. It was hot but we managed to find some work in the shade.
I cooked noodles for tea when I got in and sat on my garden chair feeling exhausted for a while.
I bought food for the birds on the way home and hung the feeders around the garden.
I pottered around the garden until me and Issy watched sewing bee this evening.
