IT'S UWCL MATCHDAY! History is set to be made at Leigh Sports Village this evening as United Women face PSG in our first-ever UEFA Women's Champions League outing.
Marc Skinner's side will be looking to make a positive first impression in our opening game of the premier European competition, and build on an unbeaten start to the new WSL season.
Our Round 2 opponents also come into this week's first leg in good form, having won two of their opening three domestic games in Division 1 Feminine.
Rotation is expected for tonight's match, considering that this is the first of three games in nine days. Summer recruits Geyse and Melvine Malard are likely to play a role, with the former winning last season's Champions League with Barcelona before moving to United.
We could be reunited with former Reds Aissatou Tounkara and Jackie Groenen on the night.
Let's do this. Come on United!

I repeat: leave the manager alone and build up the squad. He’s not just rebuilding a team, he’s rebuilding a DYNASTY. That’s not done in less than 2 seasons. United has a perch-knocking manager, now build a perch-knocking squad and administration around him. 🧐

I already have tears in my eyes with the thought of winning the FA Cup tomorrow, even if we lose tomorrow, you'll still see me bleeding RED for this club...... I'll put my head up and take the banter with pride. We have a very small chance of winning tomorrow but regardless the result,
WIN OR LOOSE, UNITED WE ARE

Matchday! The wait is over. United Women take on Aston Villa in the opening day of the 2023-24 WSL season.
The Reds will be looking to build on last season's achievements, which included qualification to the Champions League for the first time via our highest-ever league finish in the WSL (second) and points tally (56).
An opening day win would be really nice. Come on United!

Media: “Højlund has scored multiple goals in the Champions League but not the Premier League. Maybe he’s a flop and can’t do it at this level because we think the Premier League is more elite than than the Champions League.”
Højlund: “RELAAAAX.” 😎
