ok ok so if he did say butterfly kisses (which is also what I heard fwiw). It replaces the only line in the song that suggests something unambiguously physically romantic happened between the subjects bc butterfly kisses are like. Eyelashes fluttering on each other bc ur faces are so close (just like 'lips pressed close to mine' not 'pressed TO mine') and I kind of love that?? Is this is a song about two people who were together in some explicit way and aren't anymore or is it about two people who have been sososo close figuratively AND literally (our lips are close but not touching! our faces are so close I can feel your eyelashes on my skin!) but never crossed that line and the what ifs are haunting. Makes ginasfs even more insane somehow

i have ALWAYS interpreted ginasfs as that second interpretation you gave up, as being two people who have been/are soooooo close both figuratively and literally to being together, to being in love and having each other they just. have never fully gotten there. for whatever reason. they have a close relationship, that's obvious enough in the song, but there's so much tension around the romance and physical affection and YEAH patrick changing that lyric on purpose or not just. make it so much more full of what ifs, so much more haunted by the possibilities if they dared to cross that line (very much giving in another life you were my babe haha. ha.), and thinking about it makes me absolutely insane like. ginasfs is literally such a tragic love song. it is full of so so so much love and affection. and so so so so so much tension and fear. most incredible insane beautiful song of all time. thank u patrick for making it even more insane w that lyric change!!!!!

So my friend and I have been talking about Guilty Gear.

They are utterly convinced that a Fighting game which serves the same role as Guilty Gear to Rock music, only the genre is folk music, would be very good. To be fair to them, Let Me Carve Your Way on banjo is really good until the slow jam part.

I personally think that a post-2001 Punk Rock type Guilty Gear would be sick, but that’s just because I heard Freesia and Awe of She covered like an Infinity on High song (specifically GINAFS and Bang the Doldrums respectively). It really affected me, and now I live in a world where I wish to make a whole Guilty Gear Fall Out Boy album…

If there was a game like Guilty Gear, but the music and aesthetics were inspired by another genre, what genre would you want? Smooth Jazz, Polka, Hyper Metal, etc.

This is so hard to answer because GG's music was already like my favorite genre of rock/metal even before I got into it bdjgkdbs

Something based on symphonic power metal like Blind Guardian or Rhapsody of Fire would be SIKKKKKK though. Polka could be interesting too, but I think it would have to be actually serious about it and not another "ha ha funnie Slavic music" dig at it.

There's a lot of cool potential there for some kinda eastern European-themed fighting game with a majority polka-inspired soundtrack. Not something obviously inspired by The Witcher, but something that took those concepts and applied them to the natural insanity fighting games seem to have. I think a leshy with a machine gun or giant sword would be AWESOME. Friggin Baba Yaga unleashing a 20 hit combo while some crazy polka goes on in the background??? Hell yeah

There are a lot of design motifs in east European/Slavic culture that could be applied to the menus/UI in a similar way to how Guilty Gear (at least up until Xrd) made its UI look like metal plating or machines too. Get some of that funky 2006-era game menu design going on for a really unique personality. In Polish culture, embroidery and leather/paper cuttings (wycinanki) both have an extremely rich history to them. A menu design that looked like it was embroidered with elements of decorated leather or colored papers could be extremely beautiful and something I don't think anyone's ever done before in a game.

Like, can you imagine a game where the menu is based on this??
