I only have some general knowledge about the dictatorship of Pinochet. But I assume that all the main things mentioned in the movie happened (no, not the vampirism), including all the corrupt enrichment touched upon in the film.

The revelation of the narrator is then again another highlight, and the black and white cinematography is often gorgeous to look at.

Plot: After living 250 years in this world, Augusto Pinochet, who is not dead but an aged vampire, decides to die once and for all.

Now this little movie was certainly something. lol It's quite strange but then it's a dark comedy horror so that's to be expected. It really stuck to that tone throughout so I appreciated the consistency. I do enjoy a good satire, that's for sure. I don't know how I feel about this one totally but I think I enjoyed it? I was amused by the humor and the family dynamics. It lived up to what I consider an iconic poster of Augusto wearing his shades, which are colored in pink for some reason. It sold the lightness in the movie imo. You could tell it wasn't going to be that serious of a movie. It took me a little bit to get into it since the beginning feels a little like a rundown of Augusto's backstory told in montages until we catch up with him in the present. Like I said, I did enjoy the family dynamic element cuz that was entertaining. I have no idea where to start with that ending though. Just wild. Not quite sure how else I expected it to end but I still gasped. lol I do like that it was shot in black-and-white, added a bit of mystery to it. If nothing else, there were some memorable parts in here.
