Aloha, all! Here's my Calabash comic strip featured in today's Honolulu Star-Advertiser newspaper • On Tuesday & Wednesday, I was stressing about an idea for the upcoming strip. I looked at the calendar and realized that Valentine's Day would be the next day after my comic was printed. Then I realized... I've done so many Valentine's Day gags, that I couldn't think of anything new! • So then I thought, maybe I could somehow connect Groundhog Day and Valentine's Day - which proved to be even more of a challenge ^_^; (BTW - I thought there was an official name for the groundhog that looked for its shadow, but when I looked online - I got 3 different names, so I got confused...) • I changed the dialogue about 12 times because the flow of the strip didn't make sense, and it was getting frustrating. But I think it all came together eventually ^_^; • As I was just about done with the strip, then I realized that my strip fell on Superbowl Sunday - and that might've been easier to come up with gags for, but oh well ^_^; Just sharing my unorthodox way of working that causes me stress every week that's turning my hair gray and making it fall out!
