I'm kind of mad the charr didnt get the whole body horror, frostbitten, half skeleton-half man thing when they were all icebrooded like the Svanir. The base game Svanir models are scary as hell and they even gave us a new one with the Fraenir in the raven sanctum, but all the charr look like theyve got a cold overlay on them, including Ryland, and I think they shouldve all looked like fucked up monstrosities.
like these bastards have bones showing and fully frozen limbs and the skin you can see is a really frightening pale grey and blue with the ice slowly creeping across their skin and I dont even want to know what their faces look like because
jesus christ

things I appreciate about gw2:
- silly quests where you’re transformed into or disguised as various things. I just spent some time running around as a pig yesterday, it reminds me of the quests in lotro where you’re a chicken
- all the map completion
- progressing events on the map that temporarily affect it, like bridges being torn down
- sometimes an event has a whole little chain depending on if you succeed or fail. fighting off an attack might lead to repairing an outpost and then assembling a team to take out an important enemy or structure. or failing to defend a bridge means protecting the engineers that come along to fix it
- just the general richness of each area with npcs and ambient dialogue, many moving around and doing their own things

Something cool I noticed about Zhaitan's way of consuming magic is that rather than focusing on consuming ley-line energy (he probably still was, though it's not shown in the personal story) he was more focused on devouring magical artifacts through his mouths. It was even to the point that he had entire ships dedicated soley to bringing in more treasures for him to eat.
So why do I find it cool? Well think about where you'd find magic items in fantasy; often in tombs, dungeons or passed down as heirlooms. Often times these items are ancient, with their makers dead and gone. And so Zhaitan, as the death dragon, devours the treasures of the dead to empower himself.
And I just think that's neat

i can't find it anymore but i remember reading some misinformation on one of the pages on the wiki ages ago that everyone in tyria knew abt the sylvari - mordremoth stuff prior to the end of S2 even though that like just isn't possible/sensical w/ the timeline????
but it did put the hilarious mental image in my mind of everyone just knowing that and still going ahead w/ the maguuma campaign like 'it'll be fiiiiiiine'

Old art but didn’t realize I never posted it here. This is Corbin, his hobbies include grave-robbing, killing rich people and using their bones to make undead monsters, and having long one-sided conversations with his minions. You know, boring stuff.
This is what he looks like in game tho. Maybe one day arenanet will give me a plague doctor mask skin. I can dream.

I've been thinking about how there's another layer to Braham's grief if commander is a sylvari. Idk how to really explain it other than "your mother got to live, so why didn't mine?"
[Braham haters DNI, i'm tired of y'all]
