"Yona was just added bc Nintendo wants people to stop shipping sidlink!" Literally what the hell are you talking about
#yes nintendo is homophobic. no they do not give a singular shit about what their fanbase does??? what are you talking abouuuutttt#they literally dont care what people do as long as they get money??? like what#listen im upset abt yona having so many unanswered questions. mainly she came from another zora's domain#meaning she came from outside of hyrule. so that leads to a lot of questions.#but howww do you come to the conclusion that she was just added as a 'no homo' indicator#dont even get me started on the people genuinely unironically calling this queerbaiting. what are you onnnnnnn#'and oh but sidon said he used to see her as a sister! so its gross and wrong!' sidon literally thought out loud to links face abt how#had things been different and link had gotten married to mipha he would be his BROTHER IN LAW. SAID THAT OUT LOUD TO HIS FACE. so shh#imo. yona was added for one 'ohh wow exciting new character look at this' and two. as a way for sidon's trauma to be acknowledged#bc it was veeery briefely shown in botw. for like. a singular second if you snuck up on him at mipha's statue#but yona's defining scene in totk was her forcing sidon to confront that he wasn't being himself because of that trauma. and that#he needed to let go of the fear around it. if only temporary. because his people needed him.#so tbh?? sheis very important to the plot. she new mipha. admired her. knows why sidon still struggles with this and#how difficult and frightening everything becomes when he views the world through the lens of 'what if i lose someone again'#like. they added yona for his struggles to be spelled out to the audience even further#so to just boil her down to 'ewww woman gets in the way of my gaybies 😡😡😡'. hello. did you play the game.#do you even know who these characters are. quick gimme ten facts about sidons character that you didnt make up for shipping purposes.pronto

Okay you mentioned Kohga having the hots for king Rhoam. I'm sorry, but can we see something with that???
I make ONE fucking joke, and Ya'll take it to the next level. Fuck you, let's get this over with.
"Kingie! Long time no see big guy!"
Kohga was planning on just hanging out at the hideout today, when he was given a summon by the king. Not that Kohga minded a trip to the castle, he was always fed pretty well. He dove in for a high five with the king, but from the way he glared, he could tell he was NOT in the mood. Even the blade master he brought with him had to cringe at the rejection. Sooga joined him too, but seemed unfazed by the rather cold attitude.
"I'm glad you came at such short notice. I have something very important to discuss with you."
"Oh is it about the fact that we're buying up all the bananas? Look, we still gotta do SOMETHING evil to-"
"It's NOT."
His voice was steely, firm. Someone was NOT happy. His glare was so menacing, his boys took a step forward, as if the king was about to try to beat his ass. Kohga patted their shoulders, making them ease up a bit.
"Easy boys, easy. Look, you two wait out here, imma have a chat with Kingy here."
Sooga of course held protests, but Kohga held his hand up, silencing him.
"Trust me. You two hunks can dash in and protect me at any time. Not that I need it. Though I DO like the attention."
His men bowed, keeping their place. Kohga followed King Rhoam, right to his secret study, in the library, beyond the metal book case. He hated royals, but he had to hand it to Rhoam, there were so many sneaky spaces to hide and explore (and coming from the chief of the Yiga clan, that was high praise). Rhoam shut it behind them both, and Kohga took a look around. This was way different from the main rooms in the castle. Much more personal, snuggly even. A few crates of supplies, a desk full of scattered books, a few chairs, and even a few weapons hung on the wall besides them.
"Nice spot. How many people know about this little place?"
"The ones who built it, and my daughter."
"Well, aren’t I special?"
Kohga chuckled, pulling up a seat and helping himself to the surprisingly comfy chair. He might steal this, honestly. King Rhoam took a seat in front of him, clearing his throat.
"I suppose you're wondering why I summoned you?"
"If it's not about the bananas, then no not at all."
Kohga was already kinda bored, and he started to hum, playing with his hands. He found it easier than just sitting there and looking someone in the face.
"It's about my daughter, Zelda. She complained about you."
Kohga stopped, finally looking at his face. He was about to ask if he was serious, and apparently he was.
"Whaaaat? ME? What did I do?"
He sighed, before folding his arms across his chest.
"She is growing tired of your men. Apparently you give them permission to try to court her."
Kohga wanted to argue with that, but then he thought about it. He was kinda at fault, getting whatever clan member interested to hit on her. Flowers, treats, poetry, even just getting a few smooth talkers to try their hands at getting her attention. He just shipped Mipha and Link so hard, he decided to boot out the competition. Not that he hated her, of course not. Kohga shrugged.
"How is that a problem? I'm throwing HUNKS at her! No clue how that makes ME the bad guy! It’s because they’re Yiga, isn’t it?”
“It’s because she’s already in love with her knight. I’m already planning on giving him my blessings, should they finally decide to wed.”
Kohga should’ve expected it honestly, this old fashioned kinda ranting. Sure they were both kinda up there in age, but they were NOT alike. Kohga shook his head, standing up from his seat.
“Look, I don’t have kids, so I dunno what it does to ya, but you’re taking things WAY outta proportion here. You’re already ready for your daughter, seventeen, to get married.”
King didn’t seem to get it, as if this was a totally normal thing.
“Well yes. Royals marry around this age, why dawdle?”
Kohga put his hand on Rhoam’s shoulder, who didn’t seem to love it, but didn’t exactly push Kohga off.
“Look, let the girl have a little FUN before she gets hitched! She’s got the rest of her life for that stuff, if anything I’m just giving her choices.”
“I’m...not following.”
“For the love of- look. If she wants me to back off, I’ll tell my guys to heel. But I don’t really think she’d complain about me. She only really clams up about you. So it’s why I’m thinking SHE’S not complaining. YOU are.”
He knew by the look in his face that he was right. Kohga chuckled, hands on his hips.
“You don’t gotta lie like that! Makin’ me think I was a bad guy here! If YOU have problems, say you do. Doesn’t mean I’ll listen, but at least you wouldn't be a liar.”
His brows furrowed, but Kohga found it hard to take him seriously at this point.
“I am saying this for the sake of my daughter. If she is to remain pure-”
“Oh great, purity culture bullshit. Look, Kingy, don’t blame her for the fact that you haven’t gotten any lately.”
He put his hand over his chest, as if he had something just terribly hurtful.
“I beg your pardon?!”
“You heard me! You know If I didn’t know any better, you’re just mad because everyone’s gettin’ some lovin’ but you.”
Kohga leaned against the King’s chair. This was some juicy shit, you bet your bananas he was gonna milk it for all it was worth.
“When WAS the last time you got off? Few months?”
King Rhoam looked at him as if he had gone insane, before pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Almost nineteen years, roughly.”
“Holy-you haven’t nutted since your kid was born? Fucks sake, I’d be grumpy as hell too, no wonder.”
He wasn’t even expecting him to answer, honestly. King Rhoam scoffed, as if regretting giving him a response.
“We’re derailing the topic at hand-”
“Now now, I’m not done yet.”
Kohga moved in front of him, one hand at the chair, and pinning Rhoam between the seat, and Kohga’s face.
“Look, I get it. You wanna take care of what you have, you’re constantly stressed, I can only imagine how bad you have it. And knowing I was the cause of some of that stress? Selfish of me really. Let me make it up to you there, Kingy.”
Rhoam looked perplexed at his choice of words, like he figured he would be. Kohga always did have the hots for the clueless ones.
“I’m saying, let me end your streak.”
Still nothing. Holy hell, he forgot he loved idiots. He sighed, pointing down to the king’s crotch.
“Let me polish the royal scepter. Take a gander at the royal jewels. I’m essentially saying let me get you off.”
THAT seemed to get a rise out of the king, given the way he damn near jumped out of his chair.
“That is NOT why I summoned you here! In the SLIGHTEST! The AUDACITY!”
Kohga let go off the chair, putting his hands on his hips.
“One, you have the audacity to NOT immediately say yes, I’m a goddamn treat. Two, why the hell not? You ever fuck anyone that WASN’T the Queen?”
No response. So that was a no. Oh this was going to be some fucking fun. Kohga put his hands on his knees, leaning in so his mask was so close to touching his face.
“Tell you what, because I like newbies. You let me do my thing. And if you don’t like it, you just say the word. In exchange, I’ll tell my guys to heel. Eh? Cool offer?”
King Rhoam didn’t immediately say no, like he expected him to. He seemed stunned at first, but hey, you miss every shot you don’t take. He was going to get a no any-
“Alright. Fine. So long as this does NOT leave this study.”
Holy SHIT. This guy did NOT just say yes. Kohga fumbled a bit, clearly not knowing how to react. He wasn’t bluffing in the slightest, he just had no clue that the king would ACTUALLY take him up on that. He chuckled, poking Rhoam on his nose.
“Well look at you! Growin’ outta that royal shell, color me surprised! Alright, stays between us. Now, you just sit right there, and let ol’ Kohga do his thing.”
He made the king tilt his head up a bit, so he couldn’t see him. Not letting him see what he was doing would make him freak out a lot less, and he could be in denial about the fact that a dude was gonna suck him off. Kohga pushed aside his mask, just enough to reveal his lips, before he got down on his knees. He parted the King’s legs, taking but a moment to massage them. Lot’s of clothes made the guy look almost fat, but Kohga knew better. Those were some toned muscles under that, just how Kohga imagined. He kept massaging for a moment longer, getting him used to being touched, before he un did his belt, and pulling him free of his cloth confines. And holy. Shit. King Rhoam was a dilf dream down here. He wasn’t absolutely massive, but he certainly wasn’t a pipsqueak. He was long, thick, with plenty of white pubic hair. Kohga softly stroked the length of it, and watched as Rhoam seemed to freeze upon the contact.
“Right right, been a while. I’ll go slow, I’ll go slow. Easy does it.”
He had a rather lovely curve downward, and Kohga could only picture how well it’d go down his throat. He kept his motions nice and slow, till he noticed the King’s grip on the armrests loosen. Then he started to up the ante, just a little bit. With his other hand, he cupped his balls, lightly rubbing them in his palm. Then he heard him groan. It was faint, but Kohga caught it. That was the sound of a man who hadn’t been touched in a long, long time. Even by himself, apparently. He was already getting stiff in his hand.
“You’ve...done this before.”
“Not with a royal at least. But yeah, Kohga’s seen a few bananas in his day.”
Rhoam clearly had some kind of retort, before he seemed to jump upon feeling Kohga kiss the head. Kohga tried not to snicker, finding his sensitivity just hilarious. His age seemed to not affect his need for attention. Especially given that a few kisses around the base was enough to get him nice and hard in his hand. He made his touch a bit firmer on his balls, and his stroking a bit quicker on his length. And Rhoam was LOVING it. His head was tossed back, his breathing got all nice and fast, and he could see, past that beard, him biting his bottom lip.
“There we go, all nice and comfy. Any chance you want me to stop here?”
Rhoam was so out of it, he couldn’t do anything but shake his head. Kohga chuckled. He was gonna love this. Feeling him start to throb in his hand, he decided to really wow ol’ Kingy here. He pulled his hand away, using it to palm at himself, before he put the head right in his mouth. Rhoam’s breath hitched, and Kohga loved that. Love how he was making a royal so weak. He pushed himself to make more, stopping shy of halfway down his length. It was enough to make Rhoam squirm in his seat, and even put his hand right on top of Kohga’s head. How cute. Kohga groaned as he pushed his head back and forth, really getting a feel for that thick cock. Then he pulled away, nice and slowly, drool still connecting them.
"Why did you-"
"You were about to cum. I could tell. I want this to be REALLY good for you, so you're going to wait."
"I DEMAND you-"
He was halted when Kohga took a hold of his balls. Nothing too hard, just enough to get him to shut up.
"No no no. You don't get that attitude with me. You rule Hyrule, I rule your cock. I decide when you cum. And because you wanna act up, you get a punishment. Look at me."
Rhoam looked, despite not wanting to, at all. Kohga kept massaging him, tediously and slowly.
"You wanna cum? You wanna shoot your load down my pretty throat? You gotta ask for it like a grown up. No tantrums. Go on. Ask."
Rhoam clearly didn't want to, but Kohga’s lips (and throat) was a blessing, not a right. So he sighed, and made himself obey.
"I...would like to orgasm-"
"Try again. Cum. Make me WANT it."
Rhoam swallowed, before trying again.
"I would...like to cum. In your mouth."
"There we go, much better. Knew you could be a polite boy."
He took a minute to suckle at his balls, really coating them in drool, before taking Rhoam fully in his mouth. That's right, every bit of that royal cock found it's way into his mouth, and Kohga gagged. It was intentional, and it made Rhoam moan desperately. So close. Kohga wasted no more time, and acted like the perfect dick sucker he knew he was.
Kohga was relentless. He groaned loudly as he bobbed his head back and forth, practically fucking his own mouth from the force. Rhoam was really getting into it now, cursing and panting under his breath, especially when Kohga pulled away to aggressively suck at his tip. Kohga was absolutely, and positively cock hungry, and he wasn’t afraid at all to show it. Kohga slurped, and gagged, slurped and gagged, grumbling as if he was an animal, greedy for the chance of tasting cum. Then he got it.
King Rhoam came, and Kohga gulped it down, only pulling away to smear it against his throbbing length. It was a big load, just how he thought it'd be. Ribbons and ribbons of cum littered their clothes, the floor, and the insides of his stomach. He pulled away once he knew no more would be cumming, feeling no more reason to. King Rhoam was a SIGHT to behold. A shaking, panting, cum covered mess. Kohga chuckled, taking a quick second to clean up. A good cock sucker could clean himself up in a flash, as if nothing ever happened. He stood back up, pulling King Rhoam’s face by his beard, and he kissed him. Not because he liked him, nor did he think he was cute. It was because there was something humiliating about making the King himself, taste his own load. He pulled away, wiping his lips, and putting his mask right back down. He could see that little bit of cum on his lips, and it was so goddamn funny to him.
“Glad we had this little chit chat, Kingy wingy. You ever need to get a load of your chest, you know who to send for. Though, I don’t do anything for free. Can I take the chair?”
Rhoam just sat there, looking bewildered, before he gently nodded. Kohga clapped his hands a bit, grabbing the chair, and giving Rhoam a little bit of a wave. He managed to meet up with Sooga and the Blade master, who didn’t even get to say hello before he made them carry the chair he was holding. Sooga looked at it curiously, turning to Kohga.
“Are we stealing this?”
“Nope! Said I could have it! It’s a real nice chair.”
“Why would he give it to you?”
“We had a nice long chat. Wasn’t something I saw...comin’”
Kohga grinned behind his mask. He was an absolute STUD, no doubts about that.

The Royal Guard’s Secret Ch. 9 (A Sidlink Omegaverse Au)
Chapter 9: The Truth
Link sat on the bed of Sidon's room, his arm cradling his stomach as Sidon sat in front of him on a chair, holding one of his hands as he waited for Link to speak.
Link was nervous, that much was clear. He hadn't spoken about this ever to anyone before and he was scared to let the information be released. What if it would come back and bite him so to speak? What if something wrong happened?
“I...I...” Link started but he looked back down to the floor once more. Sidon's large hand came to rest on his shoulder, squeezing it gently in support.
“Take your time Link,” Sidon told him “We can take as long as you need to. This is something that is hard for you to talk about. I'm proud of you getting this far with wanting to tell me in the first place. In a way I am honored.”
Though if it was this hard to tell him Sidon felt a little bad for making him tell him. But he also needed to know everything. He wanted no secrets between them any longer. He wanted them to lead a happy life with trust in one another. He planned on pursuing a life further than just a fling with Link. They were having a baby, he knew that he couldn't just ignore that. He wanted to marry Link and give him a life he deserved.
He trusted Link, he just hoped that Link would one day trust him. Maye this day would be the day that Link fully did.
“That man who runs that...place,” Link began. “He forces me into being one of his best objects so to speak, though you already knew that. But there is a reason. Everyone there but myself is there for the extra money, happily willing to give him what he wants to have a steady flow coming in even if they have to give him a cut of the share. I'm the only one that is there against my will. I never even see a piece of that money.” Sidon held his hand a bit tighter. All that money that Link made from having his body used in such a way and never to gain anything of it was terrible. Not that Link really needed the money being a royal guard to the princess, but the act of it was still so wrong.
“I'm very glad that you had stopped doing such a thing, but Link, why did you stay there? You were clearly unhappy there,” Sidon said softly.
Link squeezed his hand and brought his knees up a little closer to him as if to protect the baby even though there was no type of danger at all.
It was more of a coping mechanism.
“He has info on myself and the royal family that could ruin all of us. It would...it would mostly ruin Zelda's life,” Link finally admitted. It felt like a huge weight had been pulled from his shoulders. He had never told anyone about this aside from the parties involved, which happened to only be himself and Zelda. But even she didn't know that he was being black mailed, nor by whom was doing it to him in the first place.
Sidon's other hand came to rest against his cheek, smoothing his thumb over the skin there. Link leaned into the hand and he could feel that Link was trying not to break down again. He felt for him. He had been going through so much lately.
“The queen had...had an affair shortly after Zelda had been born,” Link finally said. “She ended up with child...”
Sidon froze a bit at that. Did that mean what he thought it meant...?
“She wasn't able to hide if from the king but he had loved me like his own son,” Link whispered, tears finally leaking down his cheeks. “But the kingdom couldn't know that the queen had a child that wasn't with the king. I look nothing like him.”
“So instead he made you Zelda's royal guard,” Sidon finished for him, wiping away a few tears from his face with his finger. Link was the prince but if his lineage ever got out it would ruin the royal family. So hide he must.
It was a most painful existence to have. To not be allowed to be fully who he wantd to be. To not have the rights that were his but also were ripped from him from a choice that wasn't even his. Sidon hated seeing this kind of pain.
“Yes,” Link said softly, clutching his hand to his face. “But that isn't even the worst of it. No matter or not of me calling myself a prince or taking orders from my sister, it's not the worst part of this whole situation.”
Sidon pet his face, slowly understanding what was going on. But he didn't want to stop Link from opening up to him. He had learned not to assume too much. He could be wrong and that wasn't the situation at all.
“You can tell me what it is Link. I'm all ears,” he promised him gently. “You have trust in me that I won't let this information out.”
Link took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “The man who runs that place had found out about this information a few years ago. He kept threatening to out the princess and the king for this situation unless...I became the star.”
“Have you told them this is going on? Surely they can put a stop to this if we know who it is,” Sidon begged.
Link shook his head. “I haven't told them that much. I told them that we had to be careful and that...well maybe having Zelda marry would take away the leverage this man had on us. But you see how that is going.”
Sidon smiled a bit. So that was why that messenger had arrived in his home in seeming such a rush. Why the wedding was meant to be so soon. The king wanted Zelda to marry to help save them all from the black mail.
But what had happened was something they hadn't expected at all. Sidon and Link had fallen for one another, Sidon even finding out about Link's most kept secret.
Zelda was in love with Urbosa as well and the ultimate problem rose the situation as well. Link and Zelda were both with child of the person they were not meant to. That would just open up even more ti be used against them.
“But I found the man I'm meant to be with,” Link said. Aand it's so wrong I'm afraid it's going to be used against me...and you.”
Sidon's eyes widened “I hadn't thought of that.”
The man there would have seen Sidon there and knew exactly what was going on. He could use this information to ruin Sidon no matter what and even ruin the marriage between he and Zelda that they were meant to play.
It would not look good for him to know that the prince that had married the princess was seen in a place like that and had slept with an omega that wasn't his own. But to top it off had gotten him pregnant as well.
“What do we do?” Link asked softly. “I don't want to go back to that place. I'm so sick of doing what he wants and doing that sort of thing...But if I don't it could bring down everyone here. Lives would be ruined...”
“Link the first thing to do is to find out who it is. You need to tell me who it is that way we can tell the king. He must have the power to be able to stop this whole mess,” Sidon urged him but Link looked away from him, fear in his eyes.
“I can't...” he said softly.
“Link,” Sidon said, tucking a finger underneath his chin and urged him to look back up at him. Link turned to look at him with tears rolling down his cheeks. “Try to be brave. Not just for you, but for our child. Our child to have a happy life with us together.”
Link cupped his stomach with his hand and looked down at it again. He was right but that still didn't stop the fear that gripped him like vines around his neck.
“It wouldn't be so easy to do that,” he told him. “He is one of the closetst people to the king. It would be a miracle to get him to listen.”
“Link, please,” he said to him.
Link looked back up at him, his lip worrying itself between his teeth.
“It's...it's...,” Link said slowly, his body starting to shake a little bit. “It's Ganondorf.”
Sidon's eyes widened slowly.
*
A scowl crossed Ganondorf's face as he pushed off from the door. He crossed his arms, thinking over what he had just heard.
So Link really was pregnant with the prince's baby but now he had just told him everything. It would be hard to use the old information over him to get him back into his establishment. He should have seen this sort of thing coming.
Ganondorf was not one to take things lightly. If he wanted to remain in this position and have Link wrapped around his finger he'd need to do something different.
Knowing that Link was with the prince's child made things a little easier. Those supressents that were given to Link before hadn't been strong enough against the Zora. He'd have to be careful with his other workers in the future just in case. Though Sidon was the only Zora that had ever come through their little area.
But the question was how did he end up using this information in a way that would work for him? Telling Link that he must return wouldn't solve any problems. He would be defiant as he had been for the past couple of months.
He needed something new. Something to get him under his control again but also to keep his mouth shut.
Though his pregnancy posed as a problem as well. There were some that were into that sort of thing but they were rare.
A grumble passed his lips as he made his way down the hall, rubbing his head as he tried to think of what to do with this situation. He needed to kep this position of power if he wanted his plan to work. His final plan to become king himself.
His original plan had been to marry Zelda but with the prince of the zora around he needed to try something else.
He would need to get step one back in order again. Get Link back under his control and possibly take care of that baby. It was a problem and it would get in his way. It wouldn't be easy especially with the prince knowing what he had done. He had to act fast.
A small body soon collided with his and he looked down at the small zora princess that stumbled back several steps.
He reached out, grasping her arm to keep her upright and smiled down at her.
“Goodness,” Mipha said softly but smiled up at him. “Thank you Sir Ganondorf. If you hadn't caught me I would have fallen.”
“It was my pleasure princess. Are you alright? You seem to be a bit distracted.” Ganondorf said an idea brewing in his mind.
He could use Sidon's sister to keep the prince away and gain control again. A smile stretched across his face but Mipha deemed it friendly and smiled in return.
“I am a little. I'm looking for my brother at the moment. He had said he needed to talk to me about something. He said it was important,” she said thoughtfully. “Have you seen him recently? I can't seem to find him.”
The idea brewed even more in his head and Ganondorf offered his arm to the Zoran princess which she took with a smile on her face.
“I saw him in the library recently. Come, I'll escort you there,” he said to her. Mipha smiled and walked with him down the hall again.
Yes, she would do nicely. If he got his way he could end up using her more than he had expected originially.
“That would be wonderful,” Mipha said with a warm smile, unknowing of the danger that she was putting herself into.

#Sidlinkweek: Day 4 - Uncertainty
I know, I know. Image doesn’t seem to fit the theme. I tried my hand at writing (because I didn’t want to draw ANOTHER comic today...) No idea if my writing is any good, so I sketched out my fav part of dialog real quick to make up for it if it’s shit <3
It wasn’t anything different from previous nights.
The railing he was sitting on cold beneath his fingers, but not cold enough to give any discomfort as he held onto it. After all, when given the choice of cold fingertips and the risk of falling to your death… there was no room to complain really. And maybe he should just stand behind the railing instead of sitting on it, but seeing his legs dangle so high above impending doom had some sort of charm to it as the mind wanders into the same old once again.
Mipha’s statue wasn’t far behind him, staring off into the distance. He hadn’t been able to look her in the eye (or, what was sculpted to represent it) as of late, whereas he’d normally feel better after sharing anything that bugged his mind, this was something he’d prefer to keep to himself.
Even with a hundred of years having passed, you don’t really tell your dead girlfriend you’ve got it bad for her brother…
A deep sigh, stating it like that didn’t make it any better.
Neither did the hand that suddenly placed itself on the railing, not too far from his own. A bright, crimson color and the blond already knew the phrase ‘speak of the devil and he is sure to appear’ had never been more fitting than it was right now.
“What wrong, my friend? You seem more… ‘quiet’ than usual.”
The Hyrule Champion bit the inside of his bottom lip, keeping a sigh from escaping as he leaned back, making sure he wouldn’t fall off as his hands carefully let go of the railing. He didn’t even look up to meet the other’s gaze as he signed.
[ It’s nothing really.]
As expected, this answer didn’t please the Zora in the slightest. It never did.
“Link, you are my friend. If something is bothering you to this extent, of course it is important… to me at least.”
A long silence played between the two of them. It was more nerve-wracking than anything, the blond fidgeting with his fingers as he seemed to go over his options in his head. For a small second, blue eyes glanced up to catch a quick glimpse of the prince, looking at him as intensely as ever. Sometimes the Hylian wondered if he didn’t have some kind of sensor, the way Sidon would always find him when he didn’t want to be found.
Someone up there must find his struggles rather amusing.
With a deep sigh, hands started signing once more, a little more shaky than he’d like them to be.
[ You know the feeling when you want something so so SO badly, but there is just no way you could actually ever have it? Like someone is playing some sick joke on you, just for a good laugh?]
“Ah…”
That last part seemed to apply to every bit of this moment, most moments in his life actually. For example, every time he’d think the worst had passed, something ten times as bothersome would be tossed at him instantly. Like that time he had finally cleared out that entire fort of monsters without taking any damage, and then went out to get his ass frozen in place by some Ice Wizzrobe.
Any pride he could’ve had instantly shattered.
Back from his thoughts to the real world, Sidon seemed to have turned his attention to his sister’s statue behind them. Staring at it quite intensely, a sad… no… ‘bothered’ expression on his face. After what seemed like an eternity, the taller of the two let out a sigh of his own before turning to look at Link once more.
“… This is about my sister, isn’t it?”
How he had gotten to that conclusion was understandable, they were only a few steps away from her statue after all. And the blond had to admit, he was being a little bit vague… on purpose of course. Though, maybe he should be a bit more forward with this, before he’d have the prince sinking off into memories of the past again.
[ It’s about you, actually.]
That sure seemed to drag the other out of his own thoughts relatively quickly.
“Me?! Goodness Link, why do you speak of me as if I’m the one that passed on? I see no reason for you to worry about such things!”
A little oblivious. Something he could find to be charming, but right now made it all the more difficult for him to just be blunt about it. Maybe with some more hints he’d figure it out without the obvious having to be stated.
[ You’re the only one next in line for the throne. Aren’t you bound to get married to some girl at some point?]
Something in that sentence seemed to have clicked the puzzle pieces together for the Zora, as his face changed into a mix of confusion and surprise for a moment, before he started laughing loudly. One clawed hand clutched at his stomach as the other held onto the railing, keeping him from toppling over. Soon enough, the prince straightened himself out again, voice shaking as he was obviously trying his best not to have another laughing fit.
“To be fairly honest, I will marry whoever I will damn well please, excuse my French.”
That sentence appeared to have given him the control again, clearing his throat to get the final ‘giggles’ out before continuing with his response.
“Besides, it’s not really something I have put my mind to yet, considering my father is alive and well. Goddesses, I wouldn’t even know what to do if he weren’t, I’m far from ready to follow in his ‘shoes’, so to speak. Mentally mostly. I’d have Muzu on my tail from dusk ‘till dawn, he already calls me ‘unprepared’ with every chance he gets. As I am right now, the throne wouldn’t suit me in the slightest.”
That idea seemed to humor him almost as much as Link’s remark had done before, though the blond still couldn’t really understand why it had been so funny? Heck, he couldn’t even figure out if the other had even realized what he was trying to get through the zora’s thick skull with all this. Might as well be as forward as he could be.
[… you DO realize I just… confessed to you, right?]
Another silence.
“Right… sorry…”
Leave it to the Zora prince to drop in an apology where it is not needed.
[ it’s okay.]
Link didn’t know why he responded to it either, probably just out of habit. In the meantime, the continuous silences where starting to get on his nerves more so than the time he couldn’t even take a nice stroll around the village without getting a bunch of monsters on him. Or worse, villagers with the most STUPID requests imaginable.
“”Find me ten crickets.””
Go find them yourself…
“You know, your words remind me of the one I kind of have my eye on.”
Oh.
Now this rollercoaster conversation was heading into a whole different direction. The Hylian was just hoping it wasn’t going to derail, as in, ‘please don’t crush my feelings like a grape’.
“No really! They’re the worst! They rarely respond to my letters, just waltz into the Domain whenever they please and claim absolutely all of my attention. It’s frustrating sometimes really, because they’re a handful, getting themselves into any bit of trouble you can imagine, in worse shape with every visit. I’d almost feel like I’m their medic sometimes!”
The red Zora spoke with as much enthusiasm as he did with pretty much every little thing. Luckily, Link wasn’t as oblivious that he needed much of a hint to whom those words were referring to. BUT… it was fun to give the other a little bit of payback… and playing dumb wasn’t the hardest thing to do.
[ Sounds like a hassle.]
He could barely contain the smirk that dared to creep up on his lips, biting his lower lip once again as to get any control over his facial muscles. For someone so often called emotionless or expressionless, he was terrible at keeping them from showing sometimes.
“Oh they sure are! Honestly, there’s moments where their stupidity and recklessness hits a peak, and I want nothing more than to strangle them with my own two hands.”
Now that, was hurtful.
Link turned to look at the other, obviously insulted and at the sight the other let out a quiet chuckle.
He knew the blond knew who he was talking about. And Link knew that Sidon knew… but chose to drive the ‘oblivious’ act to its absolute maximum and just tilted his head in fake confusion a second later, as if he still didn’t know who this was about. If only to see if it could piss the Zora of in any way.
“… But then there’s that smile, one so real, it just makes any negative feeling fade away instantly… as well as my heartbeat by the way… it’s quite concerning.”
The last bit of his sentence, Sidon put a hand on his chest where, presumably, his heart was beating underneath his ribcage. Giving Link a judgmental look, the blond couldn’t hold back a loud snicker, covering his mouth with a hand before signing at the other again; shaking where he sat as he tried holding back his laughter.
[So, WHO are we rambling on about here?]
A question that was answered with the biggest grin the Zora prince could possibly muster. One that just spelled out ‘As if you don’t fucking know, you little shit’. And goddesses did he love every little bit of it.
Another small moment of silence.
But not an awkward silence like the ones before. This was just the both of them appreciating the weightlessness of this moment, and Sidon awaiting somewhat of a response, probably.
[… it’s about me, isn’t it?]
“Maybe.”
Another chuckle escaped the blond’s lips, shaking his head slightly as his hands just kept signing.
[ You’re the worst.]
This seemed to only make Sidon’s grin wider, and that was definitely not a point of complaining. Though, maybe something to note down for the other later to not do that if he wanted his hyrule Champion alive and breathing.
“I thought we established that you hold on to that title pretty strongly.”
Link rolled with his eyes excessively, making sure the other would notice him doing so without having to make much of an effort to look at him directly. For the first time that night, the Hylian opened his mouth, a quiet, raspy voice coming out of curled up lips.
“Haha…”
The sound seemed to draw the other closer to him, distance clearing between the two of them as a hand placed itself on his shoulder. For a moment, the blond froze in slight fear, the thought of being pushed off the railing flickered in his mind for less than a second.
“My friend, your real laugh is a lot more pleasant to hear than whatever that was supposed to be.”
It wasn’t hard to notice the laughter being held back at the back of his throat as those words left his mouth. It made this whole conversation a lot more enjoyable, to know he could say anything from casual chitchat to some serious confession bullshit, and they’d still be laughing together all the same.
[ Then make me laugh.]
“Are you challenging me?”
[ No.]
“Darn, could swear that you were.”
[ Nope.]
The Champion contemplated his next words for a moment, before giving in to impulse, already seeing his hands move before he even thought of doing so.
[ Also, since when do you swear?!]
Bright golden eyes moved up to lock onto his own, the two of them just looking each other in the eye before both bursting into the umpteenth laughing fit. Sidon actually placing both his hands on Link’s shoulders and standing behind him now, to make sure the smaller male wouldn’t slide off the damn railing with how his body was shaking.
When they settled down eventually, Link tilted his head backwards to look at the other again. All was quiet, just stares and smiles, and for a moment he’d almost forget the whole conversation they just had, if it weren’t for the smirk appearing on the Zora’s face as he spoke.
“You DO realize I just confessed to you, right?”
Mimicking his own damn words from earlier.
Sidon could muster up whatever bullshit he wanted on Link being worse, whatever. But that darn prince was definitely just as bad of a terror.

The Promise Ch. 5 (A SidLink Story)
Chapter 5: Protective Prince
Voices were around him, panicked and some angry. It was hard to make out what they were saying but he guessed it wasn't a pleasant conversation. His body rest against something warm but a little hard, as if being cradled close.
He couldn't remember what had happened very well. He had been on a walk with Sidon and then....then what?
Something warm pressed against his lips soon followed by painful pressure against his chest. What was going on?
“Link, please wake up,” muffled words spoke to him, quickly followed by the repeated warmth against his lips and then the pressure against his chest.
“Bazz it isn't working,” he heard more clearly.
“Just keep going my king. We cannot give up yet,” came a reply.
The warmth to his lips returned and Link realized then that it was someone's lips, hot air being pushed past his lips  to help him breathe again.
He quickly gasped, coughing hard as he pulled his eyes open, the feel of wetness against his lips as the water expelled from his lungs.
“Yes, that's it Link,” Sidon said, rubbing Link's back as he sat him up in his arms. Blue orbs gazed up at him weakly.
“What...happened,” he mumbled, swallowing around the soreness in his throat. Had he nearly drowned?!
“Shh, rest Link. I will explain everything to you later,” Sidon said to him. All Link could see was his face, surrounded in warmth. He smiled softly, closing his eyes once more and letting sleep take him, not even comprehending that Sidon had practically kissed him.
Sidon let out a sigh when he felt Link relax into his arms. He had been so scared that he had been too late, that he had lost him to the waves and never see those beautiful blue eyes again. But he had gotten to him in time.
He meant more to him than just a potential mate to solve all of his problems. Link had been his best friend back then. He cared for the man. Being with him now had him falling for him even more than he had before.
Even if Link rejected him he was still happy that he was breathing and even have been able to spend any sort of time with him again.
Perhaps if Link chose to go back home Sidon could send a wealthy donation to the orphanage to help them in any way he could.
“Had they taken her for questioning?” Sidon asked as he rose to his feet, keeping Link close to his chest.
He felt so small and fragile in his hands. So easily broken yet so strong on the inside. Link had always been strong and Sidon knew better than to mention his lack of ability to swim, not wanting to make him feel weak.
But he knew that this was a necessity that he needed to teach him. If he were to stay he needed to know how to swim. Not only for protection if anyone ever tried this again, but for also being able to get to certain areas of the Domain if Sidon wasn't around to help him.
“Yes your highness,” Bazz replied, falling into step with him. “She is being held and will be charged with endangerment of a life as well as treason against the crown.”
“Good. I will not tolerate that kind of behavior whatsoever. I will address my people later. For now I want to see that Link gets the care he needs.”
“Yes my king,” Bazz said, bowing his head as he went to join the other guards.
Sidon looked down to the blonde in his arms, his heart clenching at the sight of him. He put up this front when he was around anyone, only breaking a little when they were together. Here and now his walls were completely down.
His hand had curled around a necklace Sidon wore, his face burying itself against his shoulder fin as he shifted in his arms.
Sidon let out a small sigh, pausing in his steps as he ran his claws over the golden locks. They were soft against his skin even when wet.
Link let out a mumbled of something, his body turning further into Sidon's warmth. The king flushed, glancing around to see if anyone was nearby.
Thankfully no one wasn't. They knew him to be passionate but never one to blush so easily just by little things that Link did.
Though the longer he stayed there with them he knew the more likely someone was going to see him like this.
“I will protect you. I promise,” Sidon whispered, pressing a slow kiss to his temple.
*
Link came to several hours later in an unfamiliar place. He sat up with a start, eyes wide with fear as he tried to remember everything.
His hand was under a weight and Link pulled on it only to realize that it was being held by the sleeping king of the Zora.
“Easy there link,” came a whisper from the other side of the room. Link quickly looked to Mipha who had just stepped in the room with a blanket in her arms.
She stepped closer, resting the blanket around her younger brother's shoulders before taking her seat once more on Link's other side.
“You should lay back,” she said, gently guiding Link to lay back down. He returned to the soft pillows with no fight, keeping his hand buried in his Sidon's.
“What happened?” he asked, rubbing his throat, it still feeling as if he had swallowed nails over and over. He had vague images but he was having trouble piecing them together.
Mipha let out a heavy sigh. “A Zora had pushed you over the edge of the bridge into the water below. Sidon went after you as he saw you couldn't swim and pulled you out. He brought you here to rest up and heal.”
Link looked down at his hand still in the king's. He vaguely remember feeling the warmth against his lips, the feeling of pressure on his chest.
A flush formed on his face and he held his breath for a second. Sidon had only been doing that to help him breathe again, not to kiss him without his permission. But he had missed the feel of Sidon's lips against his own.
He would not be mad at him. He just wished he was awake to witness it....
No. He had to stay focused.
“Why did she attack me?” he asked, clearing his throat with a wince. “I hadn't done anything to her or...”
But he already knew the answer to that. It was because he was a Hylian.
“Quite frankly we're pretty sure what it was , considering what she had yelled as you tumbled down to the water,” Mipha said as she rubbed her temples in annoyance. “It was despicable. We have nothing against your kind. Why else would our king wish to wed you? It just annoys me that there are those that don't see it the same way and think they can act in such a manner.”
Link let out a sigh. He had never experienced anything like this before. He hated when it happened to anyone. No one deserved to be treated that way just because he was different than them. All of this mess over something stupid...
“So now I'll have Zoras attacking me?” he asked with a frown.
Mipha shook his head. “We are going to do everything in our power to keep you safe while we gather those that want to harm you and either make them see differently or they will face the consequences of their actions.”
“I don't mean any disrespect, but I am able to protect myself,” Link replied.
Mipha smiled softly. “I've got no doubts about that. But it is orders from the king. He wants to make sure you're safe. Quite frankly I don't think he is going to leave your side for a while.”
Link couldn't help but smile a little at that, looking to the large king once more with the small blanket that sat about his shoulders.
“How long as he been here?” he asked softly.
“Since he had brought you here,” Mipha replied resting her hand on Link's shoulder and closing her eyes, her hands having some sort of green aura around them.
“What are you doing?”
“Healing. It won't heal what you sustained completely but it will help speed up you're recovery time. You will have some bruising on your back and on your chest from where you hit the water and from where Sidon had pushed on your chest.”
Link watched amazed, feeling a warmth spread throughout his body.”I...don't know what to say. Thank you Mipha.”
“No need to thank me Link. Not only are you a kind man but you do mean quite a bit to my brother and I like seeing him happy. He hasn't been like this since father had died. Mourning and responsibility had kept that smile away from his face for so long.”
He still didn't quite understand why he cared for him so much for him but deep down he really did enjoy it.
Aside from the caretakers at the orphanage, Link never felt so much care from someone in his life. He had always wanted this feeling of having a family, but he had never been granted to having one of his own. This technically was his chance to do so. But was that really the right reason to do such a thing as marrying Sidon?
“He's never been this smitten before either with any suitors that were presented to him by the council,” Mipha added as she pulled her hands away.
“Mipha. That is quite embarrassing,” Sidon's smooth voice replied, gold eyes pulling open to look at them.
His cheeks were a soft blue hue, sitting himself up as he tried to regain some sort of dignity after his sister had told Link what he wanted to keep secret for the time being.
“Forgive me,” Mipha said with a laugh, not seeming to regret what she had just told him. Link had the right to know what was going in Sidon's head.
The princess rose from her seat, patting Link's hand as she passed. “I'll leave him in your care Sidon. I'll go see to more preparations for the princess.”
Mipha left the two of them in the room, leaving them in a bit of an awkward silence. The words that she had spoken still hung in the air around them like a thick blanket.
Noticing that his hand was still being held, Sidon slowly pulled it away.
“Sorry about that,” he mumbled to him.
Link paused a moment and then reached out for his hand again, holding it in his own. He liked the warmth and he knew that Sidon didn't mean any harm. It was becoming quite apparent that the Zoran man was quite affectionate and was holding himself back quite a bit when it came to Link. Letting him have things here and there wouldn't hurt.
Sidon glanced up at him quickly, the hue on his cheeks becoming darker. Link smiled, squeezing his hand a bit.
He could give him this. He had saved his life after all.
“I want to thank you for saving me,” Link said. “I...feel a little ashamed that you had to have come get me. I just...never really learned how to swim. There weren't that many large bodies of water near the orphanage so I never got the chance.”
“Link...I would jump in front of a rampaging Lynel to save you,” Sidon said causing Link to gaze at him in shock. He had never seen one but he had heard they were terrible beasts, able to take down even the strongest of warriors.
“Sidon...I'm flattered but...”
Thinking he had over stepped a line again Sidon looked away. “Forgive me again for being too forward.”
Link could see how much he wilted at that and he had to squeeze his hand again to get his attention. He did not like seeing that look of sadness cross the king's face.
“No, it's okay,” Link replied. “Maybe um...Maybe you could teach me to swim some time? What better way to learn than by the King of the Zora?”
That seemed to relax the king and he gave a breath taking grin, nodding his head. “I would love to Link. This way you will be more prepared for anything that comes your way.”
Link smiled though felt a little nervous. What was to stop another Zora from pushing him over the bridge into the water again? What if Sidon wasn't there to save him again before he leaned how to swim?
Seeing the paleness of his skin Sidon pulled his hand up to his chest. “Link, I will make sure that nothing ever happens to you again. I will not leave your side.”
“Thank you,” the blonde found himself saying.
What was it about Sidon that seemed to make him want to be protected versus wanting to protect everyone?
