“And then we went to my house and had dinner and played with Kkoongie and then Kibummie yelled at me and then I took a shower and played with kitty again and then I woke up in my bed and it was morning and now we’re here!”

Euisoo looks concerned when Taemin tells him Kibum yelled at him, but continues listening to Taemin talk about his day yesterday. Taemin is sitting on his lap, talking at a mile a minute, one of his hands resting on Euisoo’s neck while the other hand waves around in the air.

“And I was really really good can I get a toy again?”

Taemin smiles at him, blinks his eyes a few times fast, and moves to press his face closer to his manager’s.

“We can go toy shopping,” Euisoo agrees. “But we’re going to use your credit card.”

“Okay!” Taemin giggles, cupping Euisoo’s cheeks in his hands. “Let’s go now!”

Euisoo takes Taemin toy shopping while the other three practice choreography. There’s no point in Taemin rehearsing when his body is too small, while he’s still in the body and halfway-mentality of a child. They hope he’ll be back to normal by the end of the week. If not, they’re not sure what they’ll do, or how they’ll fix it. But until then, it might help to get Taemin some toys to keep him occupied.

“Hello pretty lady!” he grins, running up to a worker at the toy store. “This is my Uncle Euisoo he’s single are you single too?”

“Please stop,” Euisoo mumbles, laughing nervously and trying to drag Taemin away.

“Look at the toys he’s buying me I bet he’d buy you lots of toys too!”

“Taemin please.”

The woman giggles, her cheeks turning pink, and she smiles at the both of them. It leads to a ten minute conversation (which consists mostly of Taemin talking about how nice and cool Euisoo is), and then she ends up giving Euisoo her number and telling him to text her later, when he’s not babysitting anymore.

In no time, Euisoo is carrying a giggly Taemin and a large shopping bag full of toys out of the toy store.

“Did I get you a date?” Taemin asks, wrapping his arms around his neck.

“I think you might have.”

“Then we should get ice cream! To celebrate!”

Euisoo laughs more, but he does take Taemin to get ice cream on their way back to the practice room. Taemin barges inside the room just as the others finish practicing, and carrying his little cup of ice cream to brag to the others.

“He’s a little ladies man,” Euisoo teases, watching as Taemin dances around with his little plastic spoon scooping chocolate chip ice cream into his mouth.

“I got Uncle Euisoo a date!” Taemin brags, popping the spoon in his mouth and humming along to a song they’d heard in the ice cream shop and got stuck in his head.

“You can’t keep teasing Euisoo for being single,” Kibum sighs.

“I got him a date!” Taemin whines. “With a pretty lady!”

“Can I have a bite?” Jinki asks, leaning down towards Taemin and opening his mouth, trying to stop any potential bickering or whining.

“Little bite,” Taemin says, and he holds up a spoonful of ice cream to Jinki’s lips. “Made me get the baby cup.”

“Because you’re a baby,” Jinki teases him, smiling around the spoon.

“No more,” Taemin says, sticking his tongue out and pulling the spoon back.

He spends the rest of the afternoon in the corner of the room by the couch, playing with tons of his new toys. Euisoo joins him sometimes, playing games like army man and fire truck and space station. It keeps him occupied while the others go through the rest of rehearsal.

A little after lunchtime, Taemin is laying on the couch, playing lazily with a new toy spaceship. One hand is flying the spaceship above his head while the other rubs at his eye, and he yawns a few times. Eventually, he brings the spaceship down to his chest, and he hugs it close while he turns on his side to stare at the other members.

“Are you sleepy?” Euisoo asks. “Maybe you should take a nap.”

“No,” Taemin whines, but he burrows his face into a pillow Euisoo puts underneath his head. “Don’t need a nap.”

“Okay,” Euisoo laughs, but he stays seated next to Taemin and starts rubbing his back. “You don’t have to take a nap. You can just lay down quietly and watch them practice.”

“Yeah.”

Taemin is asleep a couple minutes later, his spaceship still tucked under his chin, and Euisoo drapes a jacket over him as a makeshift blanket.

“Isn’t he cute when he’s not being an obnoxious brat?” Kibum coos, smiling when he catches sight of Taemin napping.

“I’m starting to think five Taemins would have been easier,” Minho says.

“But five Taemins wouldn’t be as cute,” Jinki teases.

They all agree, smiling as they watch Taemin fidget in his sleep.
