Hawaii Factory Outlet Survival Guide

On Friday my sister and I returned from holidays in Hawaii. It’s true what they said Hawaii is really a shopper’s paradise!

We visited 2 islands of Hawaii Maui and Honolulu. We shopped at 2 outlets

Outlets of Maui (Banana Republic, Michael Kors, Coach, Guess,Gap, Sketchers and many more). To find out some further information check out their website.

Waikele Premium Outlets ( Banana Republic, Nine West, Coach, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, DKNY, Calvin Klein and many more.) To find out more, check out their website.

The outlets while we were visiting had discounts of

- 60% Nine West

- 60% Kate Spade

- 60% Michael Kors

- 50% Banana Republic

It would be rude not to take advantage, especially when I’m a shopaholic stylist!

Remember that scene from Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts walking down the street this was literally me walking out of the outlets.

While I know the US dollar isn’t as strong as it has been in the past, trust me the outlet bargains totally made up for it!!

If you’re visiting Hawaii soon, here are my Outlet Survival Guide tips

If your visiting Waikele Premium Outlets - book your bus with Roberts Hawaii in advance or at least the night before (it roughly takes 30 mins to get there and the return bus costs $18). To book your bus or if you need further information, I’ve attached the link https://www.robertshawaii.com/transportation/waikele-outlet-shuttle/ My tip is to take the first bus out at 9am and last bus home at 4.30pm if you are a keen shopper like me.

If you’re visiting Outlets of Maui the outlets run a direct bus for $3 each way from certain hotels (ask your hotel front desk for timetable and pick up locations). This shuttle bus was a lifesaver as we didn’t hire a car while we were in Maui!!

Wear clothes and shoes that you can take off easy to try on.

Collect the savings passport as additional savings apply.

Study the store directory so you don’t miss any stores.

At Waikele Premium Outlets go across the road and check out the Old Navy and Gap factory outlets.

Be open as its outlet shopping (i.e. the item may be last season stock and not the exact colour/style you had in mind).

Check out the sales rack at the factory outlets in Hawaii for further discounted stock. I picked up a Banana Republic skirt for $11 (watch my Instagram feed for the outfit picture later in the week).

What I brought?

I invested in updating my basics such as blue/black jeans at Gap. It was the easiest jeans buying experience EVER! Each pair cost $17 dollars. I also brought new ballet flats in the Nine West sale as they get a lot of wear in my wardrobe.

A surprising discovery is the Michael Kors clothing range goes up to XL or size 16 and after searching through the sale rack I brought the below Blue Off the Shoulder Dress and White Shirt for a song! I was looking at the Macy’s website last night and I noticed that Michael Kors also does a plus size range.
