Oh yeah. Before the Everything with my shift today, I had an idea for a Wolfwood centered one-shot

Mostly an inkling of an idea. A character study more than anything else. But the idea is there. Maybe eventually I'll pursue it.

It really weirds me out sometimes with how far the sanscest shipping gets. Like, when they have kids who have kids with the kids of other sanses? why. what is the need. also dont get shipping sanses with sanses.

tbh that is one part i never really got into,, i get the appeal of making fankids bc its fun to explore how that would go and they’re basically OCs so you can go crazy! but on the shipping them together side,,, idk why but anything to do with shipping characters who are minors has always made me a bit uncomfortable. it’s entirely a me problem and i’m fully aware that there’s nothing inherently wrong with it its just!! weird to me idk!!!!!

as for the selfcest bit tbh as a selfcest shipper myself i deadass do not have a goddamn clue what about it appeals to me. i guess its a bit of wanting to see how these two “different” characters would interact with each other? honestly i think if you change up their backgrounds enough you can make it so that while they’re technically the same person, they’re also just as much their own self as if they were different, and yet they can still use their “sameness” as a way to find a deeper understanding in themselves that they might not have seen otherwise. that’s how i do mine anyway!

I give my dad's brother a pass on never contacting us, as he is more broadly shunning all of my dad's side of the family. He was adopted and was treated like shit by my grandmother, because she a) didn't want to adopt and resented her adopted children, and b) was a fucking racist to her black adopted children, so he doesn't consider us to be his family. Particularly now that he is in contact with his biological mother and half-siblings.

He's also chronically depressed to a very disabling degree and lives in another country, so like... there are barriers to communication there that are different to the rest of the family not talking to us because they think we're embarrassing and messy.

#I met him one time exactly #when I was about ten #at my grandfather's house #he was writing in a journal at the time and I was writing a (very bad) poem in a day-a-page diary I had gotten discounted #because it was for the previous year #and people remarked on the family resemblence in terms of habit #which neither of us (trying to write in our books and not join in the conversation) were especially receptive to #I think about him a lot now #my grandfather didn't leave him anything in his will #which apparently you can legally do here to your adopted children?? #even though you cannot legally disinherit your biological children if your name is on their birth certificate #the other siblings kind of divided up their inheritance among themselves after the fact to cut him in with an equal share #but like... really really bad that they had to do that #and honestly I would have expected better of my grandfather #who was the one who wanted to adopt in the first place #because he grew up in an institution from around 7 to 15 #(his mother was too mentally ill to look after him and his siblings at the time so his father surrendered them to different working schools #who then refused to give them back when she was well again because their funding was based on how many kids were there) #and he fostered a lot of kids as an adult because he felt strongly about children living in orphanages and other institutions #but like... apparently didn't feel strongly enough about it that his son's inclusion in his will wasn't conditional! #my dad's adopted sister was much closer to my grandfather and saw him several times a week #(she is grateful her mother died in her early sixties because she feels this allowed her to develop a close relationship with her father) #so she was in the will #but it must have felt pretty chilling to know that she might not have been if she hadn't been a Good Enough Daughter

I'd like ophelias character more if they leaned into either making her an awful piece of shit or a massive hypocrite more. It feels like they very clearly set her up as this cold blooded killer and then sorta yanked her back and im not talking abt her tragic backstory I genuinely like how she can't seem to be kind 2 the people luo yan saved instead of her boyfriend but I wish they just went with that instead of having her see this woman dying and going "wow that is sad :( I'll lie to comfort her" and aparantly in a bounty story of hers she was like playing with kids??? Anyways she was on top of Zora's hit list and I feel like the writers went "ok ignore that" even though Zora is the best character-

I love Zora and her event was probably my fave #Even if we don't have a lot to pick thru I think the writing was v strong and both she and Xiao Yin really got to shine #Plus she kinda stands out as an 'unaffiliated' character (yea bounty hunter but they're supposed to b neutral) but makes her hatred #VERY CLEAR like doesn't seem to hide it. So to just kinda go 'now feel sad for the person she hates' I'm sorry im not going to do that! #Especially when you implied/described her as being very cold blooded and not empathetic I don't really care #TLDR I think ophelia has potential but they didn't really reach it. Also Bonnie was underutilized in the story I know it's like #A side story so it's mostly ophelia like how it was almost totally ahmed last time but still Bonnie is one of the few shadow decree members #Who seem to be somewhat justified bc she GREW UP with the union not doing much!
