Aaaa so I don’t even remember what brought it about but I just had Fond Memories of a past hyperfixation that was Cross-writing (aka crossed letters aka cross-hatching). Where to save postage and paper money, people would write out their letter normally then turn the paper 45 or 90 degrees & continue writing with the new lines angled against the first set (creating a cross hatched look, hence the name). I used to do it cause I thought it was cool and cause if I journaled in cross writing and in cursive, it would be virtually unreadable to most people, cause for some reason younger me had anxiety about ppl reading anything I wrote.

So anyways I remembered cross-writing & looked into it again for funsies. & I’ve always thought the cross writing with diagonals looks prettier than the right angle cross writing but I’m bad at keeping the lines straight and consistent if I try to write diagonally. & I was like “hm it’d be cool if there was a lined paper that had a set of horizontal lines & a set of diagonal lines, that’d solve it”

AND APPARENTLY CALLIGRAPHY PRACTICE PAPER IS EXACTLY THAT!!!!! I CAN BUY A CALLIGRAPHY PRACTICE NOTEBOOK & WRITE A PRETTY N AESTHETIC CROSS HATCHED JOURNAL!!! IM SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS!!

It’ll be even more satisfying bc they’re miniature so I won’t have to write as much before getting to the cross hatch part!!! #Sometimes I would get tired writing in my big lined notebooks & didn’t have the energy to keep going to the cross writing part #So this actually solves that kinda hehehe

like which is my favorite or? my favorite of all of any of the bugs (myriapods arachnids insects and land crustaceans cus thats what roly poliws are heheh) is dragonflies because dragon + insect = win for the autism

i really like harvestmans (opiolones, often mistaken for spiders but theyre different species!) and regal/royal walnut moths :3

though i do enjoy me a good neuropteran (lacewings), oururrghh its so hard to pick

ok my favorite arachnid is opiolones and if i had to pick one in specific the bunny harvestman or the daddy long legs ones cus theyre cute, theyre tied with jumping spiders for me tho cus those fuckers are CUTAY PATOOTAYS

my favorite moth is regal moth/cecropia moth

i adore african millipedes theyre so SILLAY. hands down my favorite myriapod

i really wanna hold a tarantula too but that is the only large arachnid (ig other than harvestmen) i will get within five feet of them mfs SCARY

i love springtails but idk enough about them yet , i just think they look like sentient jellybeans and id love to give one a smooch (they r too small for that tho </3)

also i’m somewhat 🤔 of the policy (except this place is so woo woo that “policy” is a banned word - the proper term for it is “agreement”) - anyways so the “agreement” says no visible tattoos but the guy who hired me had a very visible sleeve. also the no men with long hair thing - my mom says there’s a male attendant who works there who has shoulder length hair. 🤔. so i think i’m going to ask clarification on the hair policy on my first day of training. after all, they did hire me knowing my hair currently looks like this

(also btw!! guys i went to the botanic gardens and look at this tree!! Trevesia palmata!!!!!!!! the autism would be thriving SO MUCH if i was able to work there, but 99% of the jobs there are just college internships 🙄 like, you think i can afford to go to college and take an unpaid job? cute)
