Pine Lake Farewell: Bratford

Monica and Kevin moved into the seniors home and lived out the rest of their lives in blissful freedom from responsibility, completely obsessed with one another. Never to be accused as doting parents, they usually only saw Jamal at family dinners, organized by Anya, who made sure to schedule a visit to her folks once a month.

Jamal moved into a studio apartment in the city to focus on his art and try to make it as a freelance painter. He had a long-term affair with a married woman who became his biggest patron. Though he never made it big, he was always able to pay the rent on time, and considered that success enough.

Anya, on the other hand, was driven to top everything she went into. Graduating university early with a double-major in economics and political science, she went straight into politics and became the youngest mayor in Pine Lake and surrounding area. Under her leadership, the town flourished, with a population boom and thriving economy. She married and had two children so her regular newsletters would always feature a picture of her perfect family. Rumours circulating about her dabbling in the dark arts are completely unfounded and will not be commented on.

The Tri-Fruhm Sorority girls are known as the coolest house to join. But with all the wild parties and events on campus to attend, will the sisters ever have time for school?

Hi! I absolutely love your blog, thank you for sharing your creations and your gameplay! I have a quick question: what method of transportation do you use for your sims that live in an apartment? You can’t put a car on an apartment lot, the taxi doesn’t seem to work with community time (at least for me:( ) and walking just doesn’t seem realistic (and I’ve got a mod that drops needs when walking long distances oops). I see that you play with apartments a lot in your Strangetown, so which method do you usually use?:)

I mostly use walking. It doesn't bother me if it's not the most realistic (I mean, I allow winter/snow in my Strangetown too and that's not realistic), and I don't have that needs mod although I've heard of it I don't think I'd like it much. They'll use taxis for dates or things where they're inviting another sim out. But if it's just a singular sim or just sims within that household and they don't have a car they walk...apartment lot or otherwise.

Do you know why community time/taxis aren't working for you? I had an issue like that when I was trying to graduate Monica Bratford and she kept erroring when the taxi would come on the lot. But taxis have worked fine since then.

And what do the couples immediately do? Woohoo. Last round they just got out of Uni and I made them this house and plopped them in it. This is them breaking in their new home as full fledged adults.

This was a very chill house. I love both chaotic households and drama free households. I am not always up to the chaos of some households even though when I am I absolutely love it, so I like a mix.

La Fiesta Tech Highlights! Tri-Fruhm Sorority Edition.

Welcome to the first of the University rounds! Playing one day introductions for everyone is nice, but that means that in the Uni ‘hood, 1 neighborhood day = 1 University semester by how I play it. Thankfully I’ve got a mod to shorten the semester to about 36 hours, so it wasn’t too bad. Highlights from this round include:

Getting to know the sorority gals! I’ve played them maybe a total of one time before, so it was a nice change of pace to be here instead of Sim State.

Jessie flirting with Sarah, only to be rejected big time. Yes, I know Sarah’s dating Matthew, but hey, that’s nbd. Sarah didn’t take it, and turns out they don’t have chemistry anyway, so there’s that.

The coach, as always, forces some of the house members to work out.

Streaker!

A toga party hosted by DJ! She invited everyone she knew (which was limited to her two professors, Zoe, and Matthew), but she managed to throw a “Not Bad” party.

The hangout at the party! It’s big for me since I’ve only had 2-3 sims hang out before, but after seeing one of those “50 little things in TS2″ videos with multiple sims hanging out, I had to try it out for myself.

On her way out she notices Monica Bratford. She saw some of her work in a local art student fair. She did a wonderful piece on animal rights and another on LGBT representation that inspired her as an incoming art student.

Allegra isn’t a person who puts herself out there much, but she had to introduce herself to Monica, she never got the chance at the fair.

The next day I send Mortimer to Deco-rama Bowling, where he meets Goopy GilsCarbo. He feels like he must have met the man before, there’s just something so familiar about him. He also meets Frances McCullough, because this family needs a witchy friend for Important Reasons. I have a feeling no one dared laugh when Frances did her epic faceplant. Mortimer also met fellow Scientist Pascal Curious, which is odd because Cassandra brought him home from work with her. Has Pascal mastered cloning or teleportation technology? Cassandra also brought home a promotion, she’s a Science Teacher again! They have a quiet evening, with Cassie and Pascal playing chess and Alex playing with his garage. I manage to almost miss Alex’s age transition, it was pure luck he was in platinum when he aged up. He becomes a Knowledge Sim like his Dad, with a preference for those who are mechanically minded and clean, he isn’t a big fan of the charismatic. I think I might give him a Romance Secondary, but I’ll see.

The Fiesta Dorms are known all over campus for their diversity. Will William, Blossom, and Klara find in each other friendship or drive each other crazy?
