Forzley stated to Cointelegraph that stablecoins would “likely become part of the global payments scheme”, as small businesses need to move money in a secure environment, with on-and off-ramps for different applications.
Max Galka, CEO at Elementus’ blockchain search engine, seemed to agree. He noted that stablecoins can be immediately placed in a trusted realm because globally recognized platforms like PayPal support cryptocurrencies.
Galka stated that PayPal’s launch of its PayPal coin would “definitely increase cryptocurrency accessibility to more people,” Galka told Cointelegraph.
He stated that it was a “natural fit” for PayPal to create a stable coin. This could put the firm “squarely on top of the map as a cryptocurrency company,” which could help boost its other offerings. The trust people have in PayPal could also see crypto and digital currencies at PayPal serve “a lot more purposes than what traditional stablecoins could offer, using that [trust] as their payments rails.”

Frost isn’t sure if PayPal would launch its stablecoin to jumpstart a shift to cryptocurrency-focused payment systems, but he believes it has the potential.
However, not everyone agrees that PayPal Coin is revolutionary. Rytis Bieliauskas is the chief technology officer at cryptocurrency payment gateway CoinGate. He said that he doesn’t see how a PayPal stablecoin could be fundamentally different from PayPal, as long as it’s centrally controlled and its value is guaranteed by the company.
Bieliauskas said that it was “interesting to observe that PayPal wants to use crypto to make a positive PR move.” This suggests that the public views cryptocurrencies as something positive and not negative.
Overcoming regulatory obstacles
PayPal stated that it would work with regulators to develop its stablecoin, but it must still overcome regulatory hurdles due to the business nature of its operations.
Eli Taranto is the chief business development officer of EQIBank, a digital bank licensed to work with high-net-worth individuals and corporations. Taranto explained to Cointelegraph that PayPal’s geographic footprint will make it confront “worldwide regulatory problems” regarding crypto. This will be “quite interesting and a challenge.”

“Welcome to our meeting today,” Caline Bustier greeted the crew of the Agreste cruise ship. “I’m so glad you all decided to join me so early in the morning.”
There were mostly groans in response to her cheerful voice, along with a few snores from certain crew members that were napping with their heads leaning on the tables.
“We have some very exciting news!” The cruise director continued. “This week we will have our usual new guests joining the cruise…”
There were some murmurs of understanding among the crew, but nothing more as this was normal. Every time they docked, they usually had an influx of new passengers and several passengers would complete their stay.
“We also have a new employee joining our ranks. Adrien will be arriving at 8 o’clock and will be spending the day trying out each of the various jobs on board as we check to see where he will fit in best.”
Alya lifted a hand into the air, her head still leaning against Marinette’s shoulder. The other girl didn’t stir.
“Yes, Alya?” Caline asked.
“Don’t you normally know what job you’ll have before you start?”
A few giggles and agreeing comments could be heard from the other occupants of the staff room, but Caline quickly lifted a hand in request for quiet.
“This is a special case. That is all you need to know. I expect you all to treat Adrien with the same respect and kindness you show to each other.”
Alix couldn’t hold back a snort in response to that, but gave Caline a thumbs up all the same. “You got it boss, now can we go? I’ve still gotta get set up for the senior hockey game later.”
“Don’t you mean shuffle board?” Kim scoffed, from behind her.
Alix jumped to her feet, jabbing a finger in his direction. “No, I mean hockey.”
There was a clap from the front of the room and everyone’s attention was focused back on the cruise director.
“You all are dismissed, have a great day!”
8:00 AM
Adrien Agreste stood at the edge of the deck. He had just boarded his father's ship, S.S. Emilie, named after his late mother. This was his first day working as a part of the family company. Technically, it was his first day working ever… unless you counted playing solitaire on a computer in his own office.
He was now twenty-three and he had told his father that if this was someday going to be his company, he wanted to learn it from the ground up. Well, water up.
Adrien took a step forward, pulling his bag up higher on his shoulder. Everyone in a uniform was rushing past taking care of passengers or things that needed to be done. And he was standing there in his uniform looking useless.
“Did you need some help?”
He swung around, nearly smacking straight into the girl in front of him. She was shorter than him (most girls were), and had black hair tied in pigtails. He realized quickly that she was also wearing a uniform with the company logo on it, though a different style than his own.
“Yes! Please. I’m looking for a,” he checked the paper he was carrying in his pocket. “Caline Bustier?”
The girl smiled and nodded. “She should be in her office. I can take you to her. I’m Marinette.”
They shook hands and were on their way. Down the corridor and making a left at a doorway, he found himself face to face with a door labeled “Cruise Director: Caline Bustier".
“This is your stop.” Marinette said, she took a step back. “Good luck with everything.”
Adrien waved, unable to fight the relieved smile from appearing on his face. He’d been worried he’d spend half the day wandering the ship. Thanks to Marinette, he hadn’t.
He raised a hand and knocked on the door. This was going to be a great day.
 5:00 PM
Adrien was having the worst first day ever. He sat in his cabin, staring down at the paper in his hand. Every job had been checked off. Well, every job except one.
During the day he had managed to try and effectively suck at every single job offered him by the cruise ship. He’d started up in the bridge with Max. That had been great. Max had showed him the ship’s computer, Markov, and Adrien had been so very interested in learning everything he could about sailing the ship.
That is until Chloe had called. She had talked Adrien's ear off, and that had managed to get him kicked off the bridge.
The rest of his jobs hadn’t been much better.
He’d worked with Alix and Kim on activities for the passengers, but they had both proved to be a little too high energy for him to handle. He had willingly volunteered to bow out early and head to the kitchens to help the chef, Alya Cesaire, with preparing lunch. Unfortunately, that had only led to him smacking his forehead on a cabinet he had left open and getting a nice cut above his left eye.
Alya had sent him directly to the infirmary, where a kind nurse named Marc had patched him up. From there he'd gone to work with the ship's entertainment director, Nino. But that had only led to Adrien examining the cruise’s collection of CDs and subsequently managing to knock down an entire shelf of discs.
A kind, but firm suggestion that he move to his next job was given and Adrien had moved on his way. The ship's artist, Nathaniel had been all too happy for Adrien to sit and watch him paint caricatures of the passengers. Adrien had enjoyed seeing the redhead hard at work, but had inadvertently spilled a jar of paint onto the deck.
The cleaning crew had been the ones to send him on his way that time. And finally, he had been directed to the ship's gift shop/concierge station. Mylene had greeted him there. She was a cheerful and quiet girl, and had instantly seen the advantage of having someone like Adrien in the store. He was tall. He could restock some higher shelves’ items that were difficult for Mylene to reach without a step.
Adrien had been thrilled when the stocking had gone well. Half an hour later though, she’d directed him to run the register while she helped a guest sign up for a special class. When she’d returned a few minutes later, Adrien was staring at a blank screened register unsure of what exactly he had done wrong.
“It’s getting late and I know you have to get up early tomorrow to help Marinette with the baking. Why don’t you go get dinner and get some rest?” Mylene had suggested with a nervous smile.
Adrien had decided it was best to do as she said. He didn’t want to make her job any harder than he already had.
And now he sat, on his bed, feeling like a failure. Hopefully, the baking in the morning would go better. After all, Marinette had been so kind to him earlier. Maybe he would find he fit in with her.
 4:12 AM
Marinette yawned again as she glanced at the clock above her station. She was already mixing her first batch of dough in her mixer, adding ingredients as she went. She didn’t know where Adrien was. He had been scheduled to arrive at 4:00. But Marinette was well-versed in the trap of oversleeping.
She just hoped he hadn’t left entirely. They weren’t scheduled to set sail until that afternoon, so if his first day had gone as badly as everyone seemed to think it had… he may have already disembarked. And that would be a real pity.
Especially given that she thought it was very admirable for him to want to learn his father's business from the bottom. It hadn’t taken long for her to recognize him. While Adrien Agreste looked nothing like his father, the monthly newsletter that had been emailed out to employees some time ago had shown his picture clearly next to an article entitled “The Future of Agreste Cruise Lines: Adrien Agreste”.
Marinette shook her head with a laugh. No one else on board seemed to have put two and two together. Though, maybe that was for the best considering how Max had yelled at him.
Her head popped up suddenly at the sound of running footsteps across the hard floors of the ship deck. Suddenly, Adrien slid into view. His uniform was crooked, hair wild from sleep, and from what she could tell… he’d forgotten to put on shoes, if his bare feet were any indicator.
He bent over, trying to catch his breath. “I…am…so sorry,” he huffed out. “I slept through… my alarms.”
Marinette couldn’t help the giggle that burst forth from her throat. This guy was supposed to be the future of the company? Did they really let him have an office?
Adrien blew at his bangs and brushed his hair back with a hand, his eyebrows furrowed in annoyed embarrassment. “I don’t see what’s so funny.”
Marinette tried to answer but it came out in a breath with no sound attached. Instead she pointed down. He followed her gesture and blushed from the tips of his ears all the way down his neck.
“Dammit. And I’m standing here like an idiot with no shoes on.”
Marinette’s giggles subsided and she brushed off her hands before stepping around the counter to talk to him. “If you wanted, you could go back and get your shoes. I’ll still have time to show you some things,” she offered.
Adrien sighed. “What’s the point? I’ll probably suck at baking too. I have the worst luck.”
Taking a moment to turn off the bread mixer, Marinette led Adrien over to a bench that sat against the far wall. They sat, both quiet.
“I take it your first day didn’t go so well?” she started.
Adrien snorted. “You don’t have to pretend that everyone didn’t talk about me over dinner last night. I figured it would happen.”
Marinette shrugged, tugging at a loose string on her apron. “I doubt they’d have said anything if they knew you were Adrien Agreste.” She bumped his shoulder with her own.
He groaned, “You know?”
She nodded. “Yeah. I think I’m the only one who recognized you from the newsletters though. And your secret is safe with me.”
Adrien shook his head. “It’s fine. It won’t matter after today anyway. I’ll be packing my things after breakfast. Don’t want to risk embarrassing myself any more than I already have.” He braced his hands against the bench and leaned his head back against the wall. Glancing at her from the side, he muttered, “I’d probably wind up sinking the ship with my luck anyway.”
Marinette stared at him for a moment. She could tell he probably didn’t have much encouragement at home. No one to help his severely lacking self-esteem.
“Here.” She held out the bracelet that had been sitting in her apron pocket.
Adrien stared at it; eyes wide with confusion.
“It’s not going to bite you. It’s a good luck charm. It should help counteract some of that bad luck you’ve been having.” When he didn’t move, Marinette faltered. Had she overstepped her boundaries? She started to pull back, but his hand shot forward and grabbed hers.
“Thank you,” he murmured. He carefully took the bracelet from her palm, and slid it onto his own wrist. And she was grateful that he was momentarily distracted as she could feel her face heating up from the contact.
“Now then,” she said softly, “since you’ll be staying. What types of things are you good at?”
Adrien thought for a moment, fiddling with the bracelet as he did so. “Well, I’m very good at solitaire. Practically an expert.” He smirked and glanced her way only to find she looked unamused. He coughed, “I took Chinese in school. I was on a fencing team. Um… I play piano.” He sighed.
Marinette beamed. “I have an idea. Can you meet me on deck around ten?”

Adrien made his way up on deck, careful to ensure he had brushed his hair and was actually wearing both socks and shoes this time. When he arrived, he saw Marinette waiting for him in a light pink sundress that was covered in white polkadots. She smiled as soon as their eyes met.
“Glad you could make it,” she said. Her eyes darted to his wrist and he blushed as he realized he was still wearing the bracelet.
“Let’s go. I have someone I want you to meet.” She grabbed hold of his hand and led him down a hall to a large room. At one of the room, several people were talking and laughing and nearly everyone was holding some kind of instrument.
“Hey, guys!” Marinette called out.
Everyone looked up and Adrien suddenly felt very self-conscious. One of the people, a guy with dark hair with teal tips, stepped forward.
“Hey, Marinette. What’s up?”
“Luka, this is Adrien.” Marinette stepped sideways enough so that Luka and Adrien could face each other. They shook hands.
“I know you guys weren’t there for the meeting but Adrien is trying to find his place on the cruise and hasn’t really found where he fits in. I remember you mentioned you needed a keyboard player, and Adrien plays piano.” Marinette glanced between them. “What do you think?”
Adrien felt his palms sweating as Luka looked him over. “Let’s see what you’ve got,” he said. Then he stepped back and turned to the rest of the band. “Ivan, can you get the keyboard out? Looks like we might have a new band member.”
 A half hour later, Marinette was preparing to leave the room and Adrien was being welcomed in as the newest member of Kitty Section. She tried to sneak out quietly, but Adrien saw her and darted after her, catching up to her just outside the door.
“Marinette!”
She stopped and turned around. “Y-yes?”
Adrien stepped forward and held out the lucky charm to her. “Thank you for letting me borrow this. And thank you for your help. I’d be packing my things right now if it weren’t for you.”
Marinette reached out for the bracelet and gently pressed it back into his hand. “Keep it. Think of it as a welcome aboard gift.” She beamed up at him. “And just so you know, I’m glad you’re staying. I think it’ll be a lot more fun with you around.”
Adrien slid the bracelet back onto his wrist with a smile. “Yeah, I think this is going to be the most fun I’ve had in a while.”

The Morning After, Part II

Jack still had a smile on his face when he slipped his phone back in his pocket.
“Good news?” Tater asked.
“Very,” Jack said.
“You want to share?” Tater asked. “You find new history book? You get money for new rink?”
“Not exactly,” Jack said.
How could he explain that he had just been invited to breakfast -- apparently in his own apartment -- at some undetermined date after they returned from their current two-day roadie? Instead he said, “I just got a text from a friend.”
“A friend?” Tater asked. “Or a friend?”
“A friend,” Jack said firmly, because even though he hoped Bitty turned out to be more, it was way too early to start talking about that. To even think about starting to talk about that. “I was hoping he would get in touch, but I wasn’t sure he had my number. He’s working on the campaign for the ice rink, too.”
“Okay,” Tater said, but he sounded suspicious. “Maybe he has a friend who is a she? Because that’s a smile I never see on you.”
“Nope, just him saying we can have breakfast when we get back,” Jack said, hoping it sounded like a breakfast meeting, to discuss important community ice rink campaign business.
“Okay,” Tater said.
Then Tater’s face lit up.
“You want help?” he said. “Bring me to breakfast. I agree Providence needs more ice rinks. Then more kids play hockey. That’s good, yes?”
“We’ll see,” Jack said, unsure about whether to tell Tater that his friend -- his friend -- wasn’t even a hockey player. He was a figure skater.
When Jack was finally alone in his room, he pulled out his phone and read the text from Bitty again.
If you’re looking for the muffin bowl when you get home, check the concierge desk. Sasha brought your groceries up. I used some to make myself breakfast. Next time you can have some too.
First, he carefully saved Bitty’s number, under “Eric,” to look less incriminating. Then he composed a text to send back.
Sorry about the grocery delivery. I forgot it was this morning. But I’m glad you had something to eat. That looks good. I’d love to join you whenever you can. We get back early Thursday morning, and that’s an off day, so I’m free in the evening, if you are. Don’t worry about the bowl -- I probably wouldn’t have noticed it was gone.
Actually, if Jack knew Sasha, it probably wouldn’t be gone by the time he got back. Chances were, it would be sitting on his counter, clean, probably with a note explaining the circumstances and thanking him for the muffins. Even if he had nothing to do with them.
Sasha, honestly, was sometimes a little intimidating, but Jack admired her efficiency, and he knew she wouldn’t have tried to make Bitty uncomfortable. It still made him cringe -- if he had been caught in someone else’s bed by the building staff, he’d still be hiding in the bathroom. But Bitty, well, Bitty didn’t seem like he was afraid of anyone.
Jack remembered the first time he’d seen Bitty. He’d been on the ice with one of his students, demonstrating a spin. Bitty would do it, his body perfectly balanced, and then let the kid -- a boy, Jack thought -- try, and then Bitty would show him again, drawing attention to the placement of his foot, to the position of his free leg, to the set of his arm. It went that way for three or four repetitions, and then Bitty looked up and caught Jack staring.
Jack had been embarrassed, but instead of apologizing, or complimenting Bitty on his technique, he’d lashed out, yelling about the time it would take to resurface the ice.
It was true, of course. No matter how beautiful figure skaters were -- and Jack wouldn’t argue against that -- they left divots in the ice that took a couple of passes of the Zamboni to fill in. Besides, there were never any more than three or four figure skaters on the ice at once -- fewer as they reached more elite levels -- when you could throw 20 kids on the ice for hockey practice. So why shouldn’t the hockey teams have priority?
But Bitty hadn’t backed down, skating to the boards and telling Jack off for interrupting. “We have five more minutes out here,” he’d said. “And your teams aren’t even ready yet. Why don’t you go tie some skates? Felix here needs to do one one more run-through before he gets off.”
That had set the tone for all their interactions for the next year.
Up until the season Bitty showed up, Jack had only made appearances at the kids’ league to open the season and to award the final trophies. Which he made sure every child got, snarky comments about participation trophies be damned. Those kids all made an effort to get out there and try something new, and Jack thought they should be rewarded.
Once Bitty was on the scene, Jack tried to come whenever his own schedule permitted. Bitty wasn’t there every time, but it seemed like his students had the ice either just before or just after Jack’s minor mites more often than not. Jack wanted to be annoyed at Bitty for insisting on the full measure of his ice time -- he was annoyed, truth be told, when he had 40 kids ready to play a game and Bitty was running one skater through his or her moves for the tenth time.
But he also was more than a little intrigued, and attracted. Bitty was a sight to behold when he skated, and, frankly, adorable off the ice. When he stood up to Jack -- which was every time Jack spoke to him, it seemed like -- he would come right to the boards, even though he had to look up to see Jack’s face. His cheeks would flush pink and his jaw would have a determined set to it.
Despite that, Jack had never seen him in any kind of conflict with anyone else at the rink; even the young hockey coaches Jack’s foundation hired for the league seemed to love him. That was a clear advantage when it came to winning support for a second sheet of ice at the rink, as the event the night before showed.
A new sheet of ice wouldn’t solve all the problems -- there wasn’t enough ice in the world to do that -- but having twice the ice would allow both the hockey and figure skating programs to grow, and Jack, with his celebrity, and Bitty, with his winning personality, were an effective tag team when they were making the case.
By the time the evening was over, Jack was feeling more friendly than he ever had towards Bitty, and he was having a harder time hiding his attraction, until they sat across from each other at the cafe and Jack realized that Bitty was attracted to him too.
Deciding to invite him home might have been the best decision Jack ever made. It also might have been the most reckless.
Jack knew that, and he knew that the very thought of bringing a man home -- someone who knew exactly who he was, and why he wasn’t out, and hadn’t seemed to like him for the past year -- would normally send him spiraling towards an anxiety attack. But when he and Bitty had really talked (okay, really flirted) at the coffee shop, he learned enough of Bitty’s history to know Bitty would never out him.
“I didn’t even tell my mama I was gay until I moved up here permanently,” Bitty told him. “It was bad enough being a gay boy in Georgia. No need for Coach and mama to be the parents of a gay boy in Georgia.”
When Jack looked confused, Bitty shrugged. “With me becoming a Yankee and all, which is what the neighbors think, no one does more than ask politely how I am, and all they have to do is confirm I’m still alive. The scandal of moving to New England is enough to drive anything else out of their minds.”
Sasha wouldn’t tell either. Jack was sure of that. She wouldn’t have told even if she wasn’t paid well to keep quiet about the residents.
He had just settled into a new book on Lewis and Clark when Bitty texted back.
At least while you’re gone no one will yell at me to get off the ice. jk. I have a class Thursday evening but it ends at 8. I could bring you dinner, if you want.
Jack tried to remember the rest of their conversation. Bitty hadn’t said anything about still being in school. Did he teach group skating classes too?
What kind of class? Jack texted.
Cooking, Bitty texted back. I do some cooking classes on the side.
How do you end up teaching skating and cooking? Jack asked, honestly curious. Bitty had mentioned being in college; why didn’t he have a regular job?
You get a degree in American studies, Bitty texted back. Seriously, I don’t like doing the same thing all day. Anyway, I’ll plan something you can eat and make it along with my students, and then I can bring it over. Or we can do something fast at your place. I already know I need to bring some spices. Are you allergic to anything? Besides flavor, I mean?
What was that supposed to mean?
What does that mean? Jack texted.
I’ve seen the inside of your cabinets, and what you order from the grocery store. I can help. I promise.
If it gets you to come over, then fine, Jack typed. But I can’t go far off my nutrition plan.
Don’t worry your pretty head about it, Bitty responded. I used to feed a whole hockey team when I was in college.
Did he mean he hung out with hockey players? Or just brought them treats so the wouldn’t be mad if he was on the ice? Jack was a little pleased that he knew that was how Bitty operated.
How did you know the hockey team? Jack asked.
Um, I was on it? Bitty texted. Captain my senior year and everything.
Shit. Was Bitty mad now? It wasn’t Jack’s fault that Bitty didn’t look like a hockey player, for all he was in great shape, with a compact, lithe body that Jack fully intended to ruminate on as soon as this conversation was over. The way his body and hair glowed gold against Jack’s gray sheets had made an image Jack would have loved to capture.
Sorry, Jack typed. I didn’t know. How do you put the embarrassed face in a text?
The answer came quickly.
You should honestly be more embarrassed to ask that, Bitty texted. I’ll tell you all about it Thursday? Or maybe Friday morning, over coffee.

Utilities – All you need to know guide to rent in Singapore
So, you found your ideal house to rent in Singapore, you are ready to move in and can’t wait to use your concierge vouchers from us, but not just yet! Before you unlock that front door, are you aware of all the clauses in your tenancy agreement — Especially about your obligations towards paying for the utilities?
Well, Utilities expenses are recurring and hence it makes a lot of sense to spend some time and review them. By the time you finish reading this article, you will know almost everything about “Utilities” set-up, payment and management.
Let us start with a set of frequently asked what’s, their possible answers and best practices:
What are the questions that you can ask related to your new rented house utilities while signing the Tenancy Agreement (TA)?
       What are included under Utilities in the Tenancy Agreement?
Usually, it is the water, gas and electricity supply which forms a typical Utility Bill. However these days most condos have an induction stove which eliminates gas.
       What about the Internet, telephone, television, aircon maintenance services (Sign up and rent through Truuue App and get $100 home service voucher)?
Amenities such as landline telephone services, aircon  servicing, internet broadband, and cable T.V. are your prerogative. You are solely responsible for setting them up and maintaining them.
       Will the utilities be billed to you as a stand-alone house or will your landlord get the bills, which then he claims from you?
This is a landlord’s prerogative. If the utilities were transferred in your name using your FIN or NRIC number, in that case, you will receive your bills every month and have to pay it to the authorities as and when due.
However if you are renting just a common room or a new en-bloc property like I, where the landlord chooses to bill you back the expenses with every month’s rent, all you got to do is pay on time!
       When are the bills due for the utilities?
This primarily depends on when your account was set. We will come to how to set your account in some time.
       What is the formula for calculating the cost of utilities if it is billed to the landlord?
Unless you occupy the whole unit, most landlord’s in Singapore divide the bill based on the number of the occupant or includes it as a part of your rent.
Communication is the key – You can always ask for the bill to know the monthly consumption.
For further information on current and historical data on tariffs and details on the national average household consumption, you can visit SP Group, the electricity provider to all residential consumers in Singapore.
       Confirm that there are no outstanding utility bills on your house
It is good practice to get at least a verbal (and if possible a written) confirmation from the landlord clearly stating that there are no outstanding utility bills to avoid any unsavoury experience during your stay. I’d recommend following this at the end of your lease term as well.
So now that you are clear with the basics lets look at how to set up your utility account.
You can set up the three basic utilities gas, water, and electricity supply by opening a single account with Singapore Power services (SP Services).
       Completed and Signed Application form for Utilities Account
       FIN or NRIC copy – Front and Back
       Letter of Authorisation from ACRA registered Director (only if leasing the property under the Business’s name)
       Latest ACRA detailed business profile (Applicable only if creating a residential account under Company’s name)
       Documentary proof of occupancy of premises (Usually required upon request)
And initial Security Deposit.
The security deposit ranges from $40 – $400 and $80 – $800 depending on the type of premises you want to rent in Singapore for Citizens/permanent residents and the Expat or Work Pass holders respectively.
The application process:
Applying for a Utility account is simple and SP Services ideally takes about 3 business days to activate the account for you (There is also an express service available to activate services by paying an extra $60 and three hours of notice on all working days except Sunday & public holidays, depending on appointment availability). However, to be on the safe side I’d give it a week.
You can apply for the Utility activation both online and offline.
Option 1: Apply online through the SP Service’s website by filling up the online application form which takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Option 2: Like Truuue, SP Utilities has a downloadable App adding to your convenience of being able to apply via mobile or a smart device.
Option 3: Call the toll free number 1800-2222 333 for a phone application. Or you can Fax the completed application form to 6304-8229
Option 4: Apply via Snail Mail: take print and fill up the application form and post it to the address:

Now that your Utility is set, make sure you clear your bills on time and avoid any late charges. Thisdetails the components of your bill for easy understanding.
Late Utility Bill charges come in a pink notice reminder fee of 50 cents in addition to a 1% per month charged for late payment.
For all who share an apartment, you could insert a clause in the tenancy agreement that would explicitly state that you would not be held responsible for any late payment of bills if you had made every possible effort to pay them on time.
Bill Payment Methods
Again there are online and offline methods to pay your utility bills on time.
For a hassle-free-no-reminder method, simply set up a GIRO account and link all your recurring bills for payment through it.
Alternatively, you can always pay using their app, or login to your online account or the island-wide several AXS machines.
Retain bills and documents
It is highly recommended to retain your utility bills, Tenancy Agreement, Payment Receipts, and any other monetary exchange receipts with the landlord or the service provider. These documents are the best way to resolve any dispute that might arise between you and the other parties.

Commercial Real Estate, A Career - How Do You Get Into It?
1. What is it and how can you get in to it?
I attended the Society of Industrial Realtors Annual spring conference in Maui several years ago. To make sure we did a lot of sightseeing, my wife had joined me. My wife and I attended the cocktail party sponsored by Colliers International, an international 241 office firm.
After a few minutes of introductions, a man came from the golf course to sit down at our table. Andrew Friedlander introduced himself and we talked about his home in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and his new home here in Honolulu. Andrew explained that he sedona houses for sale came to Hawaii on R&R from his Army tours in Vietnam. He was about to finish his last duty tour. He rented an apartment and waited tables. He washed cars. To have extra money. He explained that he had paid his rent to an older gentleman who visited his apartment once a month. The man finally asked him if that was his business. Andrew stated that he had never considered property management as a business. However, the more Andrew spoke with the man, the more he realized the diversity of commercial real estate, especially in Hawaii. Andrew was shown the basics by the rental agent and he decided to not return to Brooklyn.

Andrew, forty years later is the manager of six Colliers International Hawaii offices with more than 40 salespeople and brokers. Andrew's team handles all aspects of industrial and commercial real estate, including traditional brokerage transactions and selling and leasing commercial real property through the islands.
While we were there, a concierge told us that it was a wonderful place. Now, where would you think about moving to?
A friend and young Army captain called me from Hawaii over the past year. After his last duty tour, he and his wife were enjoying some R&R and called me to get my advice about commercial real estate companies. After checking with Andrew about his availability, I gave Andrew my number. Andrew took my friend out to lunch and introduced him the Colliers business in the islands. My friend and his wife later decided to move to Florida to be near their parents. He was eager to be interviewed by Colliers in Ft. Lauderdale. Although he found a better match for a concentration of office brokerage with another company, I believe it is clear that there are opportunities with major firms for someone with an interest in the field, who can show that they are self-motivated and have positive manners (manners, speech patterns, business attire, etc.). One night, a long-time friend of mine told me that the desk clerk was the representative for the hotel company to its customers. He also knew the CEO. The clerk's rudeness towards us is not indicative of what the CEO wants for their company. If he wants to be more than a late-night clerk, he will have to learn this lesson.
This is because Colliers, or any other competitor, must ensure that every salesperson or broker who meets a potential client represents the company's image. It is a huge investment to create that image for the business community. Every person must be able to reflect that effort, even all staff. A potential customer may choose to hire someone who is more professional than them. Wal-Mart's customer relations training is very strong. It would seem that every major restaurant chain has a comprehensive program for staff training. It might be worth observing how staff handle customers who are being unreasonable.
2. Entry
Andrew's story is an example of what commercial real estate can offer. In 1971, a senior business mentor and friend of mine said to me that commercial realty offered an opportunity to start a business, without the need for capital. There was no limit to the number of transactions that could possibly be made. This was discussed in relation to me returning to law school. He thought it was almost an "sky is limit" approach but it had some sense. I had prepared a few financial reports about potential deals that were offered to me. At my mentor's direction, I also gave that year's $300k commission check, to a broker he had used to purchase a property he had settled on the previous year. The second half of the commission was also handed to the broker by me the next year. Remember that the 1972 commission amount at the beginning of that recession was significant money for any transaction.
Each state has its own licensing regulations. Florida requires that a person take a sales licensing class, pass it, and then work for at least two years in a licensed real-estate broker's office before they can take the state broker's exam. Many colleges and private companies offer sales courses, with evening classes being the most popular. The course costs are minimal. It is easy to learn the basics of reading, writing, and math. Commercial real estate firms might offer the course depending on your education qualifications. For salespeople, smaller, more generalized brokerage firms might also offer the course.
A recognized culture or business reputation is usually established for any real estate company in any community. This can be either local, regional, or national. It is important to research which company suits your needs. You can find out a company's history, areas of expertise, staff, and successes via the internet. Recognize that large metropolitan commercial firms will often outsource client requirements in outlying areas to smaller commercial firms in the area, rather than asking one of their main offices to travel. If you live in a rural area between major metropolitan areas, it is important to find out which real estate companies have these relationships.
You will only be able to succeed in commercial realty, especially if you don't have capital. In the early 1970's, I had the option of finishing law school again. The thing I discovered was that I enjoyed being "outside" of an office, and I also liked being "on the streets." Ft. Lauderdale was home to many of my attorney friends. They spent hours in their offices writing briefs and drafting documents, which is what the profession demands. My decision was to work as hard on commercial real estate as I would for any other law practice. It worked if it was successful, but if not, I would return to school.
Given that Florida's early 1970's recession caused almost equal economic damage to all occupations, many lawyers had low billing practices and clients whose business was in trouble. Many real estate brokers I met were facing difficult times due to the fact that banks weren't lending money for deals. Florida had a 14% usury limit at the time. The deposits were low and California's interest rates rose to 14%. That is where the money went.
Weekdays were spent knocking on doors of businesses along the West Palm to Miami corridor. Weekends were spent painting houses or sailing a motorboat owned by a friend. On weekday evenings, after dinner, I would be at the office reviewing information about property, ownerships, tax data and other pertinent details. I was available to drive or make phone calls the next day. It was possible to make a living in the commercial realty field. After I returned to Philadelphia, I discovered that many commercial real estate companies were open to hiring salespeople as waiters, bartenders, or other temporary jobs until they have enough experience to close deals. This has been influenced by the greater financial strength of larger firms, which can either offer a salary base or allow for new salespeople.
Today, gender isn't as important in commercial real estate today as it was in 1970. In those days, women could not compete with men in selling venues. There are now many women who have joined real estate companies such as SIOR and CCIM. The number of women who have joined commercial real estate organizations like SIOR, CCIM, etc. has increased significantly over the last 15 years (which I will talk about later). Commercial real estate courses today offer a great way to acquire knowledge once taught "in-house" by senior brokers responsible for the progress of new salespeople.
The importance of having minimum capital in commercial real estate has not changed. Gender isn't an issue. Many women have succeeded in office or industrial real estate. You can find out more at www.youtube.com You can choose your work hours, your specialty(s), your market(s), and who you would like to approach to join your firm. Commercial real estate is a standard business week that does not include Sunday or late Saturday hours. These are just a few of the many positive aspects of commercial real estate. Your competition is fierce, your competitors are proud of your work ethic, and most importantly, their reputations for each individual.
Both larger brokerage firms and smaller commercial companies should be investigated. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
A). A base salary may be offered by larger firms. Although they may prefer to have prior business experience, this does not necessarily mean that they will be willing to offer a draw against commissions. A new salesperson would typically be assigned to a senior or multiple brokers to handle cold calling, marketing materials, and reports on any client's property. They also might have to deal with property inspections by their prospects by other brokers.
Here are some points about larger firms:
The future ownership potential of the company could be limited or nonexistent.
You may not have control over the market, territory, or discipline in which you work. You may be hired to work in retail. However, this could change if the department needs personnel support. If they have multiple offices, you may find they prefer to rotate through the different departments and possibly each regional office.
It depends on whether the company is privately owned or public. You may be able to sell or merge the company without your involvement. No position in a larger company has a "safety net". It is possible to make quick cuts if a client loses its primary, significant client to a competitor.
Senior brokers who have been successful sometimes leave the firm to open a new firm. If you work in the same department as the rainmakers, clients will follow them. This could impact your income potential.
The volume of deals can be as important as the deal size. A bank, insurance company, pension fund or other institutional owner may be interested in a deal. If an institutional owner (bank, insurance company, pension fund, etc.) has a presence on a urban market they might be able to award a sale or leasing assignment to a larger firm. This can make the assignment a "year-maker" if it is completed. Most often, the year-end bonus money goes to salespeople who participated in the marketing effort.
Senior brokers need to have high-level corporate contacts. This could be through a country club, business association, educational institutions, commercial lenders or people referred from cities with corporate headquarters. You might consider looking at other firms whose top managers are more involved if the firm owners and top brokers don't have the contacts or relationships to develop them. Instead of being left with crumbs from other firms that have a strong community (business and not-business), you want the work to flow down from the top.
B). A broker/owner will usually manage the operations of smaller firms, with or without brokers partners. They will often have a residential and separate commercial divisions in which some brokers might work in commercial and residential properties.
Here are some points to consider when looking at smaller firms:
Future ownership shares could be offered, depending on deal volume and commitment to firm. The opportunity might be more attractive for those who are near retirement, such as the founder broker.
Commission percentages can be more generous if a certain amount of deals are made to cover the cost for your desk, phone, and secretarial services.

The Coronavirus Crossroads: the Vaccinated, the Stymied and the Waiting For a vast majority of Americans, a coronavirus vaccine is like sleep for a new parent: It’s all you can think about, even if you have no idea when you will get it. People are scrolling through perpetually crashing websites at 3 a.m., or driving 150 miles each way in the snow. Others are lining up at grocery stores for hours on end, hoping to snag a leftover shot, or racing to hospitals amid rumors of extra doses. Many more are tossing in bed in the dark, praying that tomorrow will be their mother’s lucky day. A small portion — about 11 percent — have received one or two shots of the vaccine, leaving the nation in a medical and cultural interregnum. Some of those with only one shot are in a precarious limbo, in states snarled over second-dose distribution. Byzantine rules setting up tiers of the eligible mean most will be holding their collective breath for months down the road, as another set moves gingerly toward the restoration of their lives on the other side of the divide. “I’ve been struck with the outpouring of grief and loss that the obstacles to getting the vaccine has generated,” said Niti Seth, 73, a psychologist and department dean at Cambridge College in Boston. She has been unable to get a vaccine appointment, despite spending all hours of the day and night online reading and clicking. “A glimpse of the possibilities of reclaiming our lives has led, paradoxically, to a more palpable sense of what we had to give up,” Ms. Seth said. Debates over masks, indoor eating, testing availability and school reopenings all now center on a single axis: the lagging rollout of the vaccine. It is the alchemy of “unrelenting waves of exhaustion, fear, hope, uncertainty and pandemic fatigue,” said Lindsey Leininger, a health policy researcher and a clinical professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H. “I stay focused on the lotus mud metaphor and think about how gosh-darned beautiful we are all going to be when we come out the other side.” Still, although cases and hospitalizations continue to decline, and as the pace of vaccinations picks up, some Americans — including those now vaccinated and ostensibly protected — are approaching the spring and summer with quite a bit of trepidation. Marsha Henderson has become a bit of a shot whisperer with her friends in Washington D.C., after securing doses for herself, her husband and their 40-year-old daughter who works in health care. Many of the sites on the city’s websites turned out to not have any vaccines, so she realized she needed to only check times for grocery stores. She gamed out times to recheck. “You have to have the ability to be on a computer in the middle of the day and sit there,” said Mrs. Henderson, who is 71. She became so good at it, an ambassador’s wife called her for tips. Still, she said, her second shot on Wednesday,“won’t change my behavior.” “I am more comfortable with the Comcast man to fix my computer, and there is some rain damage I need to get fixed,” she said. “But I will be doing carry out and outdoor dining probable for another year, in part because we don’t know the variants.” In New York, Jamie Anderson emailed a nonprofit group in northern Manhattan on behalf of her father, Jimmy Mattias, who is 66. “The nonprofit called me on Tuesday to get his details,” said Ms. Anderson, who lives in the Bronx, not far from her father in Washington Heights in Manhattan. “He was called on Wednesday to confirm an appointment, and Thursday morning he had his first dose. Let’s face the facts, this is a horrible situation.” Catherine Sharp, a freelance photographer in Brooklyn, like many New Yorkers, has had less luck. Ms. Sharp, 26, relocated to Illinois recently to help her parents, a relocation that has developed into a part-time job trying to get shots for her father, 67, who has been living in Katonah, N.Y., and her mother, 65, in Morris, Ill. “It was like a sneaker drop,” she said. “You are not going to get the Off-White sneakers. It’s just impossible.” As she waited, both she and her mother contracted the virus, and her mother, a cancer survivor, was hospitalized. “This is my worst nightmare,” Ms. Sharp said. “I know some of my mom’s friends have gotten it. I just don’t understand the algorithm. A good 40 percent of my time is spent on this. I wake up, I get my coffee and say, “I gotta do this.’” For a few of those at the back of the line — largely younger, healthier people who are working from home — luck and perseverance can pay off in a split-second, sometimes with a side of guilt. Darla Rhodes lives in Pasco, Wash., is 47 and works remotely for a start-up. Even though she has diabetes, she did not think she would be getting a vaccine anytime soon. But when the assisted living center where her grandmother lives offered vaccines to residents, and some of them refused them, the vaccinators had 30 minutes to get those shots in people’s arms or supplies would perish. Her sister, who happened to be dropping off groceries for their grandmother, got the ball rolling. Vidia is a very motherly type of character - her maternal instincts are constantly on overdrive, so she will literally smother you with mama energy if she’s given the chance. Very meticulous and likes organization over being disorganized, and that includes everything - from her daily schedules, to her living space, to the rules of the Fausts, etc. Literally, unorganized chaos drives her crazy. Organized mess, on the other hand - that is the chaos that she thrives on.

Vidia Marsden was a young woman of many talents, raised in an extremely wealthy household where ambition and success was revered. She was encouraged from a very young age to dip her toes into as many pools as possible, and that’s exactly what she did, starting with dance classes at five and gymnastics at six - both of those she continued with up until she was out of high school. She took an interest in cooking and baking when she was also very young, and was taught to know her way around the kitchen from her family’s live-in cook, Lucinda. Those lessons she still maintained and worked on, to this day. She absolutely loved being in the kitchen - when she was stressed or angry, and needed to work off steam, you will most likely find her in the kitchens, making something (or in a gym somewhere, hitting shit).
When she was a little bit older, around nine, she started taking an interest in learning about makeup and hair, having accompanied her mother to The Blue Orchid - one of the many spas that her family owned - on numerous occasions. She fell in love with cosmetology and the whole process of cutting and styling hair, and the flawless application of makeup and how transformative both could be. She’d been utterly transfixed.
In high school, she played tennis and joined the cheer squad her freshman year, whilst participating in a handful of school committees, such as the yearbook and dance committee, and the student council as the treasurer (freshman and sophomore year), and then the president (junior and senior year). She wasn’t by any means the most popular girl in school - never wanted to be, either - but she was very well liked, all the same. She had a natural charisma about her that people seemed to be drawn to and that kept her friend circle large and ever growing.
Born in Los Angeles, California, but was raised in Chicago, Illinois.
Daughter of two extremely wealthy individuals. Her father, Emilio De Silva, was a well to-do hotshot attorney based in Los Angeles, California, while her mother, Georgia, was an heiress to a mass fortune - more specifically, a multi-million dollar corporation that specialized in luxury spas and individual hair & nail salons, world-wide. 
The company, Marsden Spas Corporation, was established in Los Angeles in 1928, by her entrepreneurial great-great grandfather, R.D. Marsden, and has grown exponentially over the decades, with hundreds of their new businesses sprouting up all over the country and even a few globally. Destination spas, day spas, mineral spas, med spas...and a plethora of hair, nail and cosmetic salons.
Vidia’s parents were never married. In fact, when she was five, the two of them split up, and instead of staying in Los Angeles, Georgia took Vidia and moved the two of them to Chicago. 
After the split, Vidia hardly ever saw her father. Once every few years, he’d have her flown over to southern California to spend a holiday with him, and he called maybe three or four times a year, if that. They didn’t really have much of a relationship during her childhood - Emilio was far too dedicated to his work to be a real father. He showered her with gifts and money from afar, but the parental dedication just wasn’t there. He loved her, but it was rare that he told her that.
When her maternal grandfather died from a heart attack, all of the responsibilities of running the family business fell onto Georgia, and to Vidia, who was set to inherit it all after her.
After high school, Vidia went to cosmetology school and studied business on the side. She already had very impressive hair and makeup skills and a deep knowledge for skin care, after spending a childhood around experts in those fields, learning and being mentored. It was her niche and she absolutely loved it.
When she was eighteen, she was introduced to the Fausts but she didn’t join the mafia until the following year. (looking to plot this out with someone, before I expand on the reasons that she joined).
After graduating college, she got a job at the The Blue Orchid as a hair and makeup artist whilst jumping in when needed to help her mother run the corporation as a whole.
At the age of twenty-two, Vidia met her now ex-fiancée, Malcolm. The two dated for two years before he finally proposed and they were set to get married...but then things just seemed to change with him. He drank a shit ton more than he ever had in the years she’d known him, and with that, his anger became explosive and volatile - it was like he had turned into a completely different person overnight. He was very irritable and easy to anger; the complete opposite of who she’d initially fallen in love with.
It didn’t help that she found out she was pregnant not long after the proposal. 
At the time, she assumed he was just going through something at work that he just wasn’t telling her about and it would go away once whatever it was was resolved. She’d had no idea that it wouldn’t actually get better but rather it would escalate so badly. 
Vidia was a strong and independent woman, who swore she would never allow a man or anyone to lay a hand on her more than once. It wasn’t in her nature to be so docile that she would take a beating laying down, and then come back for more and expect shit to be any different. Up until the point where she realized this was that type of situation, he hadn’t laid a single finger on her. His words had been his weapons.
It was his one and only physical attack on Vidia, that landed him in prison, her on life support and their daughter Angelica to be born several weeks prematurely. It had been the first and last time he had hit her - and it literally damn near killed her.
She hadn’t even seen the attack coming. She’d been in the process of making dinner when Malcolm came home, stumbling, drunk out of his mind and in the foulest mood she’d ever seen him in, and understandably, she’d been pissed. After all, this had been the new routine for months and she was sick of it, so she did what any normal, hormonally pregnant girlfriend would have done in that situation - she raised her voice - and that’s when he hit her. And then hit her some more.
She spent three weeks at the hospital in recovery over the attack, the first several days fighting for her life over the internal trauma he’d caused. Once she had recovered, and both she and her newborn daughter Angelica were released from the hospital, Vidia moved into the Faust Manor, where she’s lived ever since.
At the beginning of 2020, her mother officially stepped down as CEO of the company, wanting to do other things before she got too old, and this forced Vidia to take up the mantle as head of Marsden Corporation.
