Thank you for the clarification on how to pronounce the babies names! I'm a native spanish speaker and sometimes I kinda struggle to grasp the pronunciation of this damned Valyrian names lol

Valaena, the other name you mentioned was considered it's great and kinda rhymes with the name a I personally call babey... 👀 So I like that a lot.

I also loved the name you used in the AU of 'Rites'. Vaelor, I believe it was. Hope it can be used for another babe. Heh.

Also, not related but, while I was reading the Reddit list you posted I found this comment that said that "Baegel" was Hot Pie's secret Targaryen name and it's hilarious. Just thought it would be fun to share it lol

Heyyyyy, V! Lol, it's 4am again here, cannot, will not stop meh! (Although in fairness I am about to go to sleep haha)

Yeah, I definitely wanted to make sure people knew how to pronounce the babies' names! I might do a little thing in this upcoming chapter solidifying the pronunciation in-universe, just so that it's crystal clear how the names should sound. These Valyrian names are annoying because you have Daemon pronounced 'DAY-mun' and yet Daenerys pronounced 'Du-NAIR-iss'. Like, should it not be 'DAY-ner-iss' or something? Lol, I don't actually care about this, but the inconsistency freed up the ability to have the 'ae' pronounced however the damn hell I like. The 'ae' generally becomes 'ie' (like 'lie') when spoken in High Valyrian, interesting enough. So, essentially, Rhaenar is 'RHIE-nar' in both Common and High Valyrian, cuz his parental units said so. Cuz I said so. And Aelys goes from 'AY-liss' to 'IE-liss' in High Valyrian. I considered the Ieliss pronunciation, but was like "nah, then the twinnies would be using the same gimmick" and I wanted to avoid the Jaehaerys-Jaehaera fiasco (still shaking my head at that half-assed naming strategy).

Valaena and Aelyx will be used at some point in the future! I think I mentioned them a while back, but yeah, they're coming around again eventually. I think they'd go nice with Rhaenar and Aelys. Rhaenar and Aelys and Valaena and Aelyx, etc....... because we know there will be more than four, haha! I considered adding Vaelor to the mix, but I decided that the angsty AUs with newborns would have completely different names to separate them from the main series; as in, anything related to child loss or death in childbirth would have completely different baby characters. It's my way of reassuring myself that the awfulbadsad of those AUs doesn't creep into the main story - like bad juju or something. I know that doesn't make sense, but I'm weird and apparently there's a process or something in my head that I've just gotta follow, you know?

Baegel and Gaemon were names that amused the HELL out of me on that list, because I'm a literal child. Also 'Gaegel'. Lol. Made myself snort again.

I'm so glad you liked the chapter! Thankfully I have a memory like a sieve and have managed to purge myself of the horrors I witnessed while researching, lol, so it's sweet babies ahead and some closing action for this instalment!

I looooove your zukka rec lists! I recently became Avatar-obsessed, never got a chance to watch it as a kid and only just got through it all! I was wondering if you'd consider doing a specifically angst rec list? I love fluffy zukka everything, but sometimes you just gotta have your heart ripped out of your chest and put back in after being thoroughly blended.
