having thoughts about dnp saying the reason they wanted to write tabinof in the first place was to commemorate the era and give fans something to look back on and remember when they're older & how they consistently talked about the tatinof/tabinof era like it was an ending (or at least the end of their "peak")

the idea that in 2015!! they were preparing for their audience and community and their popularity to go away eventually so they wanted to create a physical reminder that "once upon a time there were these two guys called dan and phil who met each other on the internet who created this entire world"

it's like they were assuming the world of dan and phil and this community would be another trend and that their audience would lose interest in over time, especially after they'd just hit this massive peak. except it wasn't and we didn't

thinking about how that was almost 10 years ago and we're still here

Making big purchases like this give me anxiety to a heavy level because low key I feel like I'm wasting money and that I don't need it because Arson, even though he's clearly not meant to last a lot longer in that shell and is corrupting and losing files, is still booting up and therefore I feel like I've done this 'too early' and that I don't deserve to get the new pc

#my art #portal revolution #very well put together portal mod #puts in on the shelf with stories mel of good portal mods i have played that connect gaps in the story or add to it in some way #i think i shall put this in the portal tag as well. apologies if it does not belong there #portal #portal 2 #this mod was well written and well voice acted. only thing i didnt like so much was the ending. them being sent to the moon was funnny tho #i mean the after credits scene made me feel better but at first i was just like. huh? so they just all die in the end? #it was a bit fast paced like riiiight at the end. the very very end #also while im talking ive noticed a lot of portal mods struggle with 'boss fights' and making them puzzles but still fast paced. #which is fair because its hard to make fast paced puzzles while still being challenging while still being easy etc etc #the puzzles in the last chamber were a bit confusing to figure out at first and i got stuck a lot #which led me to just standing there trying to figure out where to go at times which slowed down the pacing #the rest of the puzzles were great tho. maybe a bit easy but still great #also i spent like 5 hours in the game! so far! thats a good 5 hours of extra portal content! woohoo! #art of duck

im all for making fun of and criticizing the way booktok (and booktube) aestheticize reading to an insane degree, making it more about being percieved as a reader more than like. actually reading. but some people on here lump the most normal things ever into the booktok consumerism pile?

like yes, booktok/tube places a lot of emphasis on the visuals of "reading", but then someone on here just went and said that simply "not wanting to damage your books" is a stupid booktok thing??? what? it's not vain or pretentious to care about your posessions, especially if they mean a lot to you. simply wanting your books to remain in good condition is not the same as having 100 unread books, or five editions of the same book, or books you hated, purely because they look nice.

and someone else said that having a yearly reading goal was also a stupid booktok/tube thing? since when? i've met people who set themselves yearly reading goals before youtube even existed. it's literally just a new years resolution, but tailored to a specific hobby?

#i put a lot of thought into the way the characters are arranged like i make sure to display them in a way where everyone is visible #while also arranging the characters in a way that i feel makes sense. like team sonic + amy are all together in the front row #the second and third row are supporting characters who are also grouped with their friends/teammates #like cream is in a separate row from amy but is placed behind her so theyre still close together and shes next to blaze whos next to silver #whos next to espio whos directly in front of vector whos in the back row because hes so tall #not going into extreme detail about everyones placement just wanted to give an idea of whats going on here #idkw here to put the bigger werehog figure like hes massive so it feels like he should go in the back #but he straight up doesnt fit. like the riser is too tall for him to be able to stand on it #i could put him somewhere in the front maybe ? since hes a sonic. but id have to push a few things around to make him fit #without completely blocking tiny little cream on the second row #also i dont even have enough space for all my figures to be on the display lmaooo a bunch of my classic minis arent on there #simply because idk where to put them. so theyre just hanging out on my playsets which are on a separate shelf #its a mess out here
