in terms of fic ive been writing a little bit but not as much as i’d like bc i’ve been pretty busy with life and also the rpg i’m currently modding lol HOWEVER i’ve locked in some new plot points and my definite plan once time frees up for me in a few months is a full rewatch of all 3 cap films and maybe even sam’s other cameos (and maybe fatws…. not sure yet, that one i saw more recently and a LOT of time has to pass before i can stomach rewatching anything if i ever do at all, even my favorite things, bc my attention span SUCKS lmao) + hopefully i’ll be able to crank out some of the scenes for the fic set within that time frame (bc i’ve been writing most of the ones that happen post cacw) and then it’ll be done! or ready to be beta’d at least… which… if ur interested 👀 i cant remember what my last update for u was about so i’ll update this post with a new snippet once it’s been shared <33

lately i’ve really REALLY grown to loathe the “OH WOW WE HAVE A CRAZY IDEAAAA! We’ve never managed anything in our lives but let’s gather up a bunch of users to create a HUGE AMBITIOUS FAN PROJECT!!! IT’LL BE SOOO COOL BECAUSE it’S REALLY COOL in our minds!! Spread the word!!! Hype it up!! It’ll be out so soon and be SO BIG AND IMPORTANTTT we’re just so excited— what’s that? You wanna know what it is? Oh we haven’t written it yet” type shit

Like i get it. Big ideas. Doing big things. Everyone wants to do it. Ya wanna make something as grand as what’s in your head or w/e and sheer ambition and zeal pushes you to throw everything at the wall at once. ALREADY WRANGLING UP USERS, Already setting up blogs!! Patreons!! Dont forget that yt channel!! Ads in discord!! HYPE IT UP FELLAS!! It’s gonna be the greatest fan project of all time—!!

all for what? an idea that still hasn’t left the mere conception phase. Just an idea. A promise of something supposedly cool. So many of these godforsaken “projects” are abandoned before they even start all because the people involved usually never have managed a large scale media project before with a bunch of people, dont understand the undertaking they’re going for, or have no idea wtf pre-production is. Ideas are cheap.

So. Freaking. Cheap.

After a while of seeing so many of these “”big projects”” get announced the instant they’re conceived, then within months of utter silence, no progress, no communication, they are cancelled before anything has even begun (oh excuse me, “hiatus” as some will say- u dont wanna disappoint anybody by admitting that it’s dead in the water huh). And im like HMMMM GEE I WONDER WHY!!

And the ones that actually get further along in some way mostly fall into that trap of sucking gullible people dry out of their money, pocketing it, then constantly making promises only to turn around and beg for more fan-content of their vanity project that still hasn’t even come out yet because lo and behold; nobody on board understands pre-production or how management works. Oh wow!! You have a large scale project yet progress is slow cuz you dont have enough recruits? WOW! It’s almost as if this undertaking was severely underestimated and u were weighing this purely on how cool it would be hypothetically and not the workload involved! Most if not all large scale projects (fan or otherwise) are like, 75% under the table pre-production. The rest is the execution itself. So many of these projects die because of all I’ve said, + unexpected turns, or straight up over-ambition

i get it this happens and it’s never going to let up and i can’t stop people from doing stuff like this. Im always gonna see it. But given how often i’ve been attempted to be recruited for these sort of things for a myriad of reasons I can see the red flags instantly and the cracks in the foundation already

just. man. There’s nothing wrong with having something smaller scale. Have your ambition or w/e, it can still be GOOD. But my god if you’ve never attempted something before dont go BALLS IN right away,,, These are tumblr users. Mostly teenagers and young adult hobbyists whose only major interest is what? plushies and cartoons? Not a 100 person team of experienced professionals in their respective fields putting together a production and backed by investors

alright so long danni (ldn i will refer to her) & ee media along w/ tencent and sm made the survival show x-fire... the premise of xfire was that 16 contestants split into two different teams (white and red) and then at the end it would boil down to each team having 4 members and the winning team would debut as a group called xfire...but wait...the group’s name is xnine? so out of red team (peng chuyue, baishu, xiao zhan, xia zhiguang) and white team(wu jiacheng, gu jiacheng, zhao lei, and guo zifan) white team won...and they unofficially debuted as xfire..went abroad to train yadda yadda yadda and then a few months later, TELL ME WHY LONG DANNI DECIDES TO RELEASE POLLS TO LET FANS VOTE IN 5 MEMBERS INTO XFIRE TO CREATE XNINE! ldn PLEASE if u wanted to rig the show you should’ve decided in the beginning what was the point of making the teams and the fans fight against each other...

so yeah xz and crew weren’t actually supposed to debut according to show rules...i mean i’m glad they debuted obviously bc x9 is x9 but ee media and frickin ldn couldve handled this better...like every member except chen molerat is amazing and great but....WHY DIDNT MaNAGEMENT NOT BLATANTLY RIG THEM INTO THE GROUP

anyway the polls were RIGGED obviously thanks ldn what did u expect out of making POLLS, and xiao zhan, peng chuyue, xia zhiguang, yan xujia, and chen z*** were added to the group to create xnine...talk about rigged when chen z*** the molerat lookin turdface misogynist was added... anyway at the time he wasnt known to be problematic but ya the whole rigging thing caused a whole rift esp when x9 debuted bc there were fanwars and death threats initially but xfire did well because it was one of the (if not only) survival shows at that time and x9 debuted w/ a good response etc

then they got moved to wjjw (still owned by ldn thanks ldn) and wjjw is known for hoarding artists and not promoting them (THEY HAVE LIKE 45 ARTISTS BUT WERE FORMED 3 YEARS AGO MAKE IT MAKE SENSE) and not being promoted properly was EXACTLY what happened to xnine. as idols what they needed was music promotions, variety shows, etc stuff to get them as people out there but this genius ldn decided to promote them through stupid zodiac dramas like super star academy (to promote xfire finalists) and oh my emperor (which was an xnine drama). now i haven’t watched OME, but SSA gave me enough brain rot and gunk for me to not watch OME. (the only person who could act was baishu), and the story was SO BAD. nevermind the acting, because the boys weren’t initially slated to be actors, but the story was horrible, girl without superpowers suddenly becomes white cult goddess at the end??? WHAT???????? why didn’t ldn just promote them normally !!!!!! are they an actor group or an idol group???? I LOVE XNINE, THEY ARE TALENTED ARTISTS !!!! and eventually some went into acting (xz, guo zifan, gu jiacheng) BUT WAS THAT THE TIME DLFNJNF and then they just kept getting sent into random dramas and movies as random side characters instead of being able to make music and promote????? i’m sorry i’ve been stuck on using dramas to promote x9 for a while because that’s such a SILLY IDEA *vigorously shakes head*

wu jiachang is focusing on his music etc (he was actually the first member of xnine i came across when i watched the collaboration/cyzj in 2018...yes carats this is That wu jiacheng!!!) MAN CAN SING

Like I’ve just recovered from the Han situation and now this... my main concern is... jyp won’t kick him out, right? I swear I’ll fucking lose it if that happens... regarding kingdom - i don’t even care honestly if they’ll not go on it or something, although it would be a big loss in terms of opportunities, I just hope they’re doing okay. Also - like, this may be a bit harsh but my dude apologized, even apologized to the people who made the accusations and they accepted it... I’m pretty sure all of us would want to yeet back in time (including hyunjin himself) and correct the mistake but like sheesh, give him a break, he apologized and is actively trying to be a better person - there’s nothing more he can do. I’m also confused - I’ve read that (almost) all the other idols that were accused recently denied the allegations so I’m not sure but like why y’all attacking one of the only ones who genuinely apologized? Ok nvm, the people telling him to leave the group and making petitions for it are sick in the head, I’m not saying what he did was good but people change and try to better themselves. That's what I'm concerned about too, tbh. :( I'm almost a 99% sure that they won't kick him off the group and maybe this is just some tactic to let the masses calm down before he comes out of his she'll again, but I also understand that 1% of doubt that crawls into me from time to time.

It's confusing, JYP’s method of handling this issue is confusing, I'll say. I think the major reason people are so confused right now is because JYP’s statement leaves such a huge grey area. They deny bullying accusations, while also simultaneously agreeing that hyunjin infact did something harsh. Whether that's because of a door or not, idk, but the statement is super fucking vague and had they had been more clear, a huge chunk of our paranoia would have been eased.

Also, I agree. I have myself argued with my commrades in the past, I've made mistakes in the past that I wish I could turn back time and solve, but the thing I can do is apologize and hope the person forgives me, though they have no obligation to. :\ I do infact think that the hiatus is a good thing for hyunjin. It's good for him to get some rest after handling this accusations and hate, it's more so the way jyp put it that freaked many people out. First saying that “they’ll do better in their artists’ selection process” and now this, OF COURSE people are gonna be worried because it comes off as so dangerously close to breaking the group. So my point is, I think the hiatus is good for him in the view of giving him some time to collect his thoughts and heal from the inevitable damage. However, I will say ‘reflecting on his actions’ at the age of 21 for something he did when he was 14 or so is total dumbassery and I don't understand why JYP would use that in their statement.

Also there are people making petitions for him leaving the group??? Gross. Don't listen to them much, darling. They're just looking for a moment to start discourse in the fandom, although it should not be ignored completely, don't stress too much over that, because there are more stays who will stay with skz than those delusional people.

At this point, cancel kingdom if this is the effect it has on an idols mental health. :\ Ik sweetheart, it's pretty scarring but all we can do is hopefully wait until hyunjin returns from his hiatus. ♡ I hope the other members are doing okay too :( and I hope he's taking care of himself :(
