no I mean really so many of my titles are song lyrics or poems because the idea of trying to come up with a title makes me want to throw a flash-bang to the ground and run away into the night

but...for the ones I do come up with, I guess I just try to encapsulate ~the vibe~ of the story and then find a pithy phrase that communicates that? I’m really not sure. this is so funny to think about rn because I literally just posted about how tempted I am to call my sequel to balcony man “The Squeak-uel.” I am truly not your gal for titles, which is disappointing because I am SOOOO good at them for academic essays.

Also what was their excuse with Nick and Rhodey and Sam BEFORE the Wakanda stuff started happening? Because let me tell you, they weren’t writing shit for any of them before that either. Also this “but they’ll be MEAN!” shit is so much bullshit and excuses. They just lack the self-awareness or the want to question why they think the way they do (ie why they think racism is OKAY!). How many fics have I written with Nick leading the story? How many? (spoiler, a fucking LOT that’s how many) and I’ve never had this problem with “scary POCs” because I LISTEN when I get criticism and I learned as I went. I made a fucking EFFORT because I love the character and I wanted to do him justice.

And that’s always why I never believe those “omg I LOOOOOOVE T’Challa/Sam/Rhodey/Nick” tags either. No you fucking don’t. If you did, you’d want them to be respected and written right.

But that’s too much for a lot of folks out there. Because then it gets in the way of all that white dick sucking.
