Continuing my tradition of putting my favorite video game characters is different video games...
I give you Ichabod "Hawthorne," Captain of the Unreliable.
Based on Ichabod Throgmorton, side character extraordinaire from the Vampyr video game, this man is... well, a mess. But he's trying!
He totally believes in aliens, and is drawn to conspiracy theories like a moth drawn to flame, but also genuinely believes in the goodness of people, and that monsters are very real and we should be on guard at all times. He contains many contradictions.
And because I frequently pause gameplay to write bits...
"Captain Alex Hawthorne, freelancer," the man decreed with excessive vigor.
"Freelancer?" Vicar Max cocked an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "I can't imagine you've found much work here in Edgewater."
"On the contrary, I've collected gravesite fees for the Junior Inhumer, and helped the guard on the dock, Ludwig, strike a blow against the automechanical menace." He said all of this with a straight face, and then leaned over with a loud conspiratorial whisper, "Though between you and me, I think he might be a little overly enthusiastic on that front. Still, no harm done in seeing a few malfunctioning mechanicals turned to scrap."
Max blinked. "I suppose not." He glanced at Ms. Holcomb, hoping for some sign or guidance, but all she provided was the slightest baffled shrug.
Listen, I am still convinced as I had been when I first played this damn game -- that Ichabod Throgmorton is based off the great vampire killer, Peter Vincent. ( Who was also a bit of a coward, but hey .. we can't all have a militia backing us up. ;) )
modern au.. louise is a bad bitch that rides a motorcycle, clarence is an anxiety ridden stoner that has to smoke a bowl just to go to the grocery store, and ichabod dresses like a kindergarten teacher and has a vampire hunter youtube channel that everyone thinks is an arg
