AAAAAAAHHHH~!!!!! Shuffle Units!!!!!! We're actually getting more shuffle units in Idolish7! I know I wasn't the only one in the fandom begging for them to do shuffle units again, and now finally the dream is real! And the units they've decided to go with sound so interesting!

Unit 1 (Riku, Gaku, Momo, Torao): Whatever song they get will either be the most energetic bop or the most sensual thing you've heard. I always hoped for Riku with Touma or Haruka but I'm super curious to hear him with Torao. Gaku's been teamed up with Riku again, it's hilarious how often this happens!

Happy Anniversary, IDOLiSH7!

Alright! A bunch of stuff got announced to celebrate the series' 8th anniversary today, so lets break down the most important things regarding our favorite group, TRIGGER!

You've probably heard this stuff already but hey. I do what I want and I'm making this post anyway.

First up, let's get all the smaller 8th Anniversary stuff out of the way! Plenty of stuff has been changed and announced to help bring the series into its latest era, and all of it is very exciting!

Special Anniversary visuals by the series' main character designers have been shared and released!

... Also I feel like it's worth noting that Arina-sensei has made it clear that we've reached TRIGGER's numbers in terms of anniversaries, and that reflects in her art. Meaning, maybe it'll reflect in other things too...?!

The game is hosting weekly free 11-pulls which bring back Heavenly Visitor, Wish Voyage, Kiseki, Music in Your Thoughts, and Light Future cards! On top of that, there's a log-in bonus for nanakores and 80 Stellar Stones in total!

The game has been refreshed with a few new features like notifications on screen when you get a message from an idol/manager, more idol storage, and even special voice lines that play before a live, after an auto live finishes, and if you manage to full-combo the song. The "hey, there's an event going on" home screen line has been replaced, too, thank fuck.

A new Namjatown collab has been announced that covers the idol in glowy clothing!

The official website has been completely overhauled including brand-new bios for the idols!

Now, onto the really fun stuff...

Shuffle Units are back!!

As part of the yearly anniversary story, we're finally getting Shuffle Units including Re:vale and ZOOL! As of Producer Letter 26, it's been confirmed that these units will be themed and have special songs for each, but the themes haven't been shared yet! We may have to read the two-part story to find out!

Part 1 will release September 5th, and Part 2 will release September 15th! It won't be voiced, though. Voice acting will come at a later date.

Kuji Memorial Video & Cards!

What's likely the most surprising thing of all for the anniversary is that it's big surprise looks back on all of the dramas IDOLiSH7's cast have starred in over the last seven years - down to releasing an animated memorial video that covers everything from La Danse Macabre to the Last Dimension musical! There's a lot of shots of TRIGGER to spot, so if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it! It's pure emotional eye candy!

On top of that, the yearly revival gacha deals with it, too, featuring special UR cards that focus on specific scenes from Mechanical Lullaby, i7 Police, Hoshimeguri (now known in English as The Stargazer?), Karatoga, La Danse Macabre, Mission (Yamato's movie from Part 3), and BLAST! (Part 5 drama)

The best part is all the old cards, including the same kujis shown here, are in these pulls, too! Best of luck if you try to bring them home!

Producer Letter #26 Takeaways

As is tradition with i7 anniversaries, there's a new Producer Letter that goes over what the current and future plans for the series are that has a few interesting tidbits fans should be aware of! I'll break it down, but if you can, I suggest reading it in your own time.

The team is still figuring out what exactly comes "beyond the period" in terms of the story, so no updates on that just yet.

They're wanting to do another 16 person live, but they're trying to book a "difficult venue" so many fans can see it. Some fans believe this to be a hint that they're trying to book the Tokyo Dome. 😱 But 16 person live isn't an impossibility!

They've implies that they're working out international distribution and screening for the recent movie Beyond the Period! So sit tight if you haven't gotten a hold of it for yourself yet!

They make a reference to “独鈷鎌首” in the original text, which apparently is a story about a poet known for his love for debate in “the poetry match in 600 rounds”, the women of the household nicknamed it the controversy between “Tokke (an implement pointed at both ends) and Kamakubi (gooseneck)”, this is used to describe a poet with a penchant to engage in debates. I couldn’t find much info about this, and I’ve never heard about this before, so any correction if I’m wrong would be greatly appreciated ;_;

In the OG text, Yuki says a good “man” (in reference to Banri, since he’s older than Yuki) and a good “kid” (in reference to Momo, since he’s younger than Yuki). Since the public doesn’t know about Banri, I chose to keep the gender vague for him and use “man” on Momo.

Tsumugi: He rises by borrowing power from an angel called 『Eight』, played by Gaku-san, and a demon called 『Ten』, played by Tsunashi-san. It's a serious storyline that even portrays death.

Ryunosuke: That's right, I'm playing a demon that tries to lure Nine into the path of evil! I was told “A demon is fitting for someone with a wild and sexy image”....

Ryunosuke: It's kind of hard though! I mean, as 『Ten』, I have to curse at and entice Gaku and Tenn. 

Tsumugi: That's right, even just the name becomes a confusion...! There are a lot of scenes where you quarrel with Eight regarding Nine's fate after all >< 

Ryunosuke: It kind of feels like I'm really quarreling with Gaku, so it makes me pretty tired lol During our break, Gaku came to reassure me saying “It's just acting so don't worry about it”, so I feel like I should do my best so as to not cause them any trouble.  

Tsumugi: Maybe Gaku-san was also worried about it >< You and he probably don't get into arguments often, after all...

Ryunosuke: He said “Ryuu is usually gentle, so it feels unusual” with a wry smile.  Tenn always detaches himself from his role when acting, which I find amazing! It doesn't feel unnatural at all!

Ryunosuke: When IDOLISH7 have to act, how do they practice?

Tsumugi: For Ainana Academy and Ainana Police, they would get lively reading the scripts together at the dorm! For action scenes, it seems that they would use things like kitchenware to practice, and Mitsuki-san would get mad at them though ><

Tsumugi: But, it looks like it is still difficult for them to detach themselves from their roles. Tamaki-san gets especially dragged into it... I think that Iori-san may be close to Kujo-san's type. 

Ryunosuke: When we got to appear on Ainana Academy, Iori-kun was able to recite the difficult scripts accurately, didn't he!

Ryunosuke: I didn't really get the chance to talk to Iori-kun, so I'd like to talk with him more casually next time! When we had the closing party together as well, he would get surrounded by Tenn or Riku-kun a lot. 

Tsumugi: The shuffle units are their own thing after all! By all means, when you get the opportunity next time, I'd be happy if you could chat with him. 

Ryunosuke: Of course! What kind of kid is Iori-kun?

Tsumugi: He has a strong sense of responsibility, and tends to think about those around him, rather than himself.  I wouldn't mind if he became accustomed to relying on me, but he might think of himself as unreliable, so Iori-san doesn't rely on or get spoiled by others often.... Maybe it's my fault for not creating an environment in which he can do so, though. . .

Ryunosuke: So he's the self-sacrificing type.... I have a lot of younger brothers, so I was never able to act spoiled towards anyone, so I kind of get it. 

Ryunosuke: Alright, so when the time comes, let's eat something delicious!

Tsumugi: Something delicious!

Ryunosuke: If we go as a group, he might end up getting surrounded by Riku-kun and Tenn again, so if possible I'd like to invite just Iori-kun. But it might be awkward if it's just the two of us so, will Tsumugi-chan come too? Chatting while eating something good is the best activity to relax, in my opinion.

"IDOLiSH7" TRIGGER Becomes First Male Character Group to Score Weekly No.1 Album

According to the latest Oricon sales report, "REGALITY," the first full album by three-member male idol group TRIGGER from Bandai Namco Online's IDOLiSH7 smartphone game franchise, sold an impressive 32,000 copies in its first week, becoming the top-selling album of the week in Japan. The 11-song album also scored No.1 at Billboard Japan's weekly album chart with 31,607 units.

  "REGALITY" ranked No.1 in the Oricon's daily album chart on its release day and stayed on the top position for five consecutive days. It also becomes the first weekly No.1 album featuring a male character group. In the past, female character groups from K-ON! (Houkago Tea Time/twice), Love Live! (μ’s), The Idolm@staer (twice), and Keomono Friends took the top spot in the weekly chart, and TRIGGER becomes the first male group to score the crown. The previous highest position was 2nd marked by "Shuffle Unit CD Natuski & Tokiya" from Uta no Prince-sama and by other albums.

  The group consists of Gaku Yaotome (CV: Wataru Hatano), Tenn Kujo (Souma Saito), and Ryunosuke
